“What…are you going to do to him?” I asked glaring at them as the man picked up Haru and took him out of the room.
“Don’t worry he’ll be back soon.’ The women smirked and then left the room as well leaving me alone.
The bleeding seemed to stop but my shirt was soaked with blood. ‘Everything hurts.’ I thought to myself just laying there on the ground. ‘Mai, Aki…where did they take you two?...Mai looked so scared, I can’t believe I got her involved in this…why did I think that this was such a great idea to come here, our parents always told us to stay away from this place…’ I thought to myself. After a while of just laying there even though everything burned when I moved I managed to get up and make it over to one of the cots. I didn’t care at this point how blood I was I just wanted a soft surface to lay down on. I plopped down and my wings twitched making a sharp pain run up and down my spin because they were still developing.. ‘I feel lighter than usual.’ I thought “Could this be because of the pill?” I muttered to myself then I heard the door open and I got up to quickly and I felt dizzy again. They brought Haru back still unconscious but he didn’t look like they did anything to him. The women walked over to me.
“So how are you feeling?” She asked.
“Like shit.” I answered simply.
She held out a purple pill. “Here’s the second part of your results.” She said.
“I’m not going to take it.” I answered laying back down.
“I’ll give you pain killers if you take this pill.” She offered.
I took the pill from her “and just what did you combined this one with? ‘I asked putting it to my lips.
“Just extra iron and something to help speed up the process of the Avian DNA that’s now apart of your DNA.” She answered.
I’d rather get this pain over with so I swallowed the pill. “What did you do to Haru?” I asked.
“We just ran a couple of tests a took a couple more blood samples nothing major, now get some rest the purple pill will take effect faster if you rest.” She ordered then left the room.
“Haru you idiot you better be just fine when I wake up.” I mumbled then closed my eyes and fell asleep.
Things kept replaying in my mind. How to fly, how to hide me wings, it felt like it was getting drilled into my head until it should be second nature. Like I had them all my life. Maybe the second pill was about all of this information.
When I woke up Haru was awake and examining himself to make sure that there was nothing wrong. Nothing hurt any more I sat up, but I still felt a bit dizzy.
“What time is it?” I asked holding a hand on my head.
“It’s 3 in the morning.” Haru replied.
I groaned and sat up “This us not a good night.” I sighed running my fingers through my hair.
“I don’t know what they did to me but my arm kills, like they kept poking me with a damn needle for no reason.” Haru replied.
“Your arm is sore, my entire body is sore.” I said.
I can only imagine considering with a bird they have hallow bones.” He mentioned.
“That might be why I feel lighter.” I stated.
“Like you need to lose weight..” Haru laughed. “Maybe it should of made you taller.”
I got up and walked across the room to him and punched him hard in the arm that was hurting.
“Ah, damn bastard.” He muttered clutching his arm.
“I hope you get a bruise.” I smirked.
He pushed off his bed and I moved so he missed my shoulder but his hand hit one of my wings and my knees instantly buckled and we hit the ground.
“Haru, you’re crushing me.” I laughed but him landing on top of me hurt.
He didn’t answer me, I just felt his hand on my wing and he was shaking.
“Haru, are you alright?” I asked ‘he’s not going to have a panic attack is he?’ I thought “Haru I’m not a black bird. Just calm down and don’t freak.” I sighed.
“I’m freaking out right now.” He said.
“Kaw.” I said and he jumped off me and I started laughing. “My god you are so gullible.”
“You’re such a jerk, you know I don’t like birds.” He stated.
“You think I asked for this?” I asked crossing my arms “I wish they would just disappear.” I muttered.
“How did you do that?” He questioned.
“Do what?” I said confused.
“Get them to disappear?”
What are you talking about their still there.” I said looking behind me to see my wings. I lifted them up. It didn’t hurt as much any more to move them around and I tucked them in against my back so they were off the ground.
“Maybe your wings are only invisible to everyone else around you.” Haru suggested.
“That could be a possibility.” I agreed “But how did I do it?”
We heard to door open and two guys walked in with Aki and Mai unconscious. They didn’t talk to us they just set them down on the cots and then left the cell.
“If they did anything to them…” Haru glared at the door.
“Haru…” I stated looking at him.
“What?”
“You do realize you’re floating in mid air right?” I asked.
“What the hell?!” He said looking down to notice that he was off the ground.
“Haha maybe you’re just full of hot air.” I smirked.
“Shut up bird boy.” He glared at me.
“I’m not a bird, I’m a fallen angel.” I laughed as I said angel.
“Oh yea, right, you and what army short stuff?” He questioned.
“Get off your high horse.” I said grabbing his foot and yanking him back down to the concrete. “Promise me something Haru…” I started and he looked at me.
“What?” He said.
“Don’t tell the girls, about what happened to me, please.” I looked down at the ground.
“I won’t tell them, it’s up to you if you want to tell them or not.” He answered.
