Girl Talk

~Mai~

Aki came back into the room. Her face was flushed and she slammed the door shut. Then she wobbled, and started to fall. I reached her and caught her before she hit the floor. “Good grief, are you ok? What happened?” I asked her.

“See, there’s a game called truth or dare, it’s a very evil game, and it just made me do something that I both loved, and hated.”

“Oh.”

“Thank you so much for not asking.” She sighed.

“You two kissed right?” I smiled. She covered her face with her hands. “There’s nothing to be ashamed of, so you like him? I think he likes you too.”

“He doesn’t like me, he likes someone else.” She muttered.

“I’m, sorry. I know how you feel, to like someone who just doesn’t feel the same way towards you.” I looked away.

“Mai, I know you like Takumi.” I heard her say. I shook my head vigorously. “It’s ok, I’m sure he’ll come around, but you and I both know that he isn’t really good when it comes to social cues.” She grinned.

“True, but he only thinks of us as family, nothing more.”

“Do you want me to beat him up?” She cracked her knuckles, and I laughed.

“Don’t mess up his hair, and his perfect teeth, and especially his gorgeous eyes.” I smiled.

“I’ll try to avoid all that.”

“You’re awesome Aki, but I think I’ll just wait some more, good things come to those who wait, right?”

“If that’s really what you want to do, I support it.” She got back up and I stood back up.

“Thanks, what are you going to do about Haru?” I asked.

“Um, I’m just not ready to tell him that I like him, maybe sometime soon I’ll be able to.” She smiled.

“Ok thanks Aki.”

“No Mai, thank you.”
