“Haru, and Aki, what about them?” I asked.
“I don’t know, the guy just said he would come back with them.”
“What did they do to me Takumi?” I asked.
"I don't know. If anything you're not disappearing randomly anymore." He answered. "I think that they put some sort of numbing thing in my wing I can't feel it."
“It has some gauze on it. You did get cut really bad, I have never seen you cry before.”
"Well they're still new." He commented looking back at his right wing. "Hey you know what?!" He smiled.
“What?” I asked.
"So I was thinking..." HE started.
"Oh no." I joked.
"I was thinking that instead of them changing my DNA to a Ravens what if they changed it so i would have been a vampire?" He said.
“Then you would probably need to change your eating habits a little.” I smiled.
"Then you could be my first victim." He laughed and brushed some of my hair away from my neck. My heart started to beat faster.
“Why Wouldn’t you take Aki first?” I asked. I didn’t think I would be a victim. I would probably be willing.
"Because no offence to her but you smell better to me then she does." He answered brushing his lips against my neck. My face instantly got super hot.
“I-I, uh, do?” I stuttered clumsily. He sat back up and smiled.
"Your so cute when you're embarrassed." He laughed. "Yea actually do do smell better then she does. Since my DNA was changed a lot of my scenes were strengthened."
Yeah, except for your ability to see that someone really really likes you. I thought. My face somehow got even warmer. I felt like I was on fire. “I see.” I said.
"I can take you back to your bed if you want." He offered with his teasing and playful smile on his face.
“No, I d-don’t want you moving around in your condition.” I told him.
"Oh you're no fun." He pouted crossing his arms and looking away from me.
“I’m not going to let you hurt yourself anymore than you already are.” I turned my head and winced.
"I was just trying to have a bit of fun, i hate having to stay in bed." He grumbled. I brought my hand to my neck and turned my head back.
“D-Do what you want.” I said through my teeth. My neck was burning.
"Well you don't have to be mad I was joking although I really don't like just sitting here. The door opened and Haru and Aki walked into the room. "Hey guys." Takumi waved his arm that didn't have the IV in it.
“H-Hi.” I said not turning. “T-Takumi…what did they do to stop the pain before?” I asked shutting my eyes tight.
"I don't know, When I got my wings I just dealt with the pain." He answered.
"What's wrong?" Aki asked.
"They put something in her neck and now it hurts for her to turn it." Takumi answered. "Haru do you think you could get her to her bed, I'm not allowed to move." He smiled
“Ok.” Haru said. I was picked up and I didn’t fight.
“It’s burning me.” I said. It felt like someone was taking a torch to my head.
"Maybe one of us should go and get someone." Aki said.
"I'll do it." Takumi stated and put a hand on his IV and was going to take it out.
“Don’t you dare. Aki, please.” I said.
“I’m on it.” She turned and rapped on the door.”
“Stay put Takumi.” I ordered.
His hand fell to his lap and he fiddled with his blanket. "Sorry, I was only trying to help." He mumbled.
I screamed and started crying. The door opened and the lady from before and some guy rushed in. She pushed my head forward, and tisked. “Child, this was one of the best chips we made, and you’re rejecting it? What a waste, it’s so strong it’s starting to burn right through your skin. I suppose we have to start again with you and just put what you had back in.” She said.
"Ugh, Mai please don't scream it's hurting my ears." Takumi muttered covering his ears and squeezing his eyes shut.
“T-Takumi?” I asked as the lady dragged me towards the door. “I’m, I’m sorry.” I said as the door shut behind me. I refused to fight as she took me to what looked like an operating room, and stuck me with something. I let myself fall asleep without a fuss.

I woke up, and my neck was sore, but it wasn’t hurting like before. I realized I was back in the room where I was before. I stared at the ceiling, keeping quiet.
"Mai are you alright?" Takumi asked. "Mai, you can talk to me. I'm sorry I didn't mean to be mean. It just hurts when someone yells when their close to me."
“I couldn’t help it. It was on fire, I’ll try to keep quiet next time.” I said quietly.
"No don't worry about it." He sounded sad.
“And now you’re upset.” I felt tears in my eyes again.
"No Mai i'm not upset." He said I heard him shift in his bed and I looked over at him. He took the IV out of his arm.
“What are you doing Takumi?” I asked.
He got off his bed and kind of almost seemed like he floated over to me and he hugged me. "Mai don't cry, I don't like it when you cry." He muttered in my ear.
“I’m, I’m sorry Takumi.” I held onto him and cried silently.
"Don't cry, don't cry, I'm right here it will be alright." He whispered.
My arms moved up a little bit and I felt his wings.
"Falling over." He said and held onto me a little tighter.
I was able to turn so I landed on the bottom. I move my hand a little, so that it wasn’t on that spot anymore. I didn’t move after that.
"S-sorry about that." He muttered and I saw a bit of pink spread across his cheeks.
“It’s fine.” I whispered, I was starting to stop crying, but still, what he said earlier hurt a lot, I was scared and the way he talked to me made my heart break.
"I-I've hurt you so much today, I'm sorry, I'm sorry for everything." He muttered getting up off of me and dragging himself back to his bed. "If you hate me I understand." He said pulling himself up on his bed with his arms.
“No Takumi, I could never hate you, no matter what.” I stood up and went over to his bedside and stood there. “I, I was just afraid. And confused, and angry, and anxious. I just wanted someone to hold me and tell me things would be ok.”
"I'm sorry I didn't think that you screaming would hurt my ears but it did. It came out like it was the high frequency ringing." He said then clutched his head like he was in pain.
“Takumi, what is it?” I asked. “What’s wrong?”
“High frequency….hurts, rooms spinning.” He muttered then i saw his eyes close.
“Nonononono…” I whispered. I ran over to the door and banged on it. A guard came over and opened it. “Something’s wrong with Takumi! Get help!” I said desperately. He shut the door and ran off. I quickly went back to Takumi. “Takumi, please stay with me.” I asked.
