I Didn't Listen

“Ok, see you later.” I rubbed my eyes and he nodded. I walked over to the door and knocked quietly. “Can I leave now?” I asked the guard. He nodded and took me to the main doors. “I’ll walk home myself.” He shut the door behind me and I realized my phone was in my pocket again. I called Aki.

“Mai, did you guys get released?”

“Takumi insisted I spend the night with you.”

“Oh, he’s still there?”

“I tried staying with him, but he didn’t want them doing anything to me while I was sleeping.”

“I see, want me to give you my bed or the spare?”

“Neither.”

“What?”

“I’m staying at Takumi’s house tonight.”

“Mai, are you sure?”

“Yeah. I’m sure.”

“Well, ok, I’m right here if you need me alright?”

“Thank you Aki.”

“Yep, love ya.”

“Love you too.” I hung up and walked until I got to the hill. I slowly trekked up and found the spare key and unlocked the door. I got in and immediately locked the door again. I grabbed a piece of bread and put some peanut butter on it and ate it. I went upstairs and got into Takumis clothes and put on a hoddie and some shorts I found. I crawled into his bed and hugged his pillow. It wouldn’t matter what he did to me, he could beat me senseless and I would still be crazy for him. I thought. I hope he knows that I didn’t want to leave him alone. I closed my eyes and fell asleep gripping his pillow tight.

I heard shuffling and my eyes flew open. Someone was downstairs. I froze and was too scared to even breathe. “Don’t fly for another few days.” I heard.

“Yeah yeah.” I let out my breath I had been holding. Takumi.

“Don’t back sass us.”

“Ok.”

“Lets go.” I heard the door close. I heard someone coming up the stairs, and his door opened. Takumi saw me and looked surprised.

“Mai?” He asked. I hugged his pillow tighter.

“Please don’t get mad at me.” I squeaked.
