Secrets Out

~*Mai*~

“Hey thanks for helping me with his math, I just can’t seem to get it, and you’re pretty good with numbers and stuff.” I thanked Takumi. I had asked him earlier that day if I could come over after school and he said yes, like I thought he would. I made sure my Aunt would be ok for a few hours and then headed up to his house with him. We came to the door and it burst open unexpectedly, making us both jump.

“Sweetie you’re home!” I saw Takumi’s mother had practically knocked him over while pulling him into a tight embrace. I smiled.

“Mom, you’re home.” He laughed.

“How hello Mrs. Katsu and is Mr. Katsu home as well?” I smiled sweetly.

“Of course he is let me go and get him.” She chirped and then ran into the house. I felt it was very nice of them to surprise Takumi like this, I knew very well he got lonely, and he missed them a lot.

“Thanks for the saving my ass again. I wanted to fly home but you said you wanted to walk.” He said.

“Well I wouldn’t say that.” I said, and his mom was back dragging his dad along, who quickly picked Takumi up and hugged him. He was a tall guy, and very strong.

“Dad…too much hugging.” Takumi choked out.

“Sorry son.” He apologized as he let him go.

“I thought that you two wouldn’t be home for a few more weeks.” Takumi stated confused.

“We came home early but we have to go back in a few days.” His father answered. ‘Oh.’ I looked down for a split second and then looked back up again.

“So what have you been up to for the past month Takumi?” His mom asked.

“I’ve um…me and Mai are dating…now.” He said. I looked at him in disbelief.

“REALLY!!! OH I’M SO HAPPY I JUST KNEW YOU TWO WOULD END UP TOGETHER!” His mom seemed ecstatic. “Have you gotten past the holding hand stage?” I immediately turned red. ‘Oh my god oh my god oh my god…’

“MOTHER!” Takumi yelled.

“Now hun it’s not our business as what goes on in their relationship.” His father tried defending us. I was still red.

“Oh you’re no fun Niko.” His mom said. “But I just want to see them kiss once.” My heart stopped. “Come on please.” She pouted. My breathing quickened.

“Dad…” Takumi whined.

“You know she won’t stop until you do.” He sighed. Takumi leaned over and quickly kissed my cheek.

“There, happy?” He asked. I felt a little dizzy.

“Nooooo…….” His mom said. ‘This, this is really happening…’ I felt my waist being held, and his lips were on mine. Before I could react, he was pulling me past his parents and up the stairs. We got to his room and his door shut.

“Mai I am so sorry.” I semi heard. ‘M-My first real kiss…’ I sat down on his bed. “Mai… come on talk to me.” He sat down next to me, and my heart was racing.

“I’m okay.” I managed to say.

“I’m sorry that was the first thing I could think of and I know that you probably wouldn’t go out with me but please help me with this.” He said. ‘Takumi, really? You honestly think that?’ I was thinking and before I knew it, Takumi had turned my head and kissed me again. I heard a click, then the door shut. He immediately started to pull back, but my hand flew to the back of his head. He froze. I built up every ounce of courage I had, and kissed him. His face heated up, and his door opened again. I heard the camera go off again. I pulled away and looked over at his mom and smiled.

“Oh you guys are so adorable!” She took another picture. I laughed a little. “Takumi dear, don’t look so embarrassed, your father and I approve 100 percent!” She grinned.

“Thank you, I’m very glad.” I said quietly.

“Oh I love you, good job Takumi! I guess I should leave you guys alone now.” She frowned. “Be safe!” She said.

“MOTHER!” Takumi yelled making me jump. She laughed and closed the door. It was silent for a few seconds, and I was still holding onto Takumi. I was instantly addicted, and I wanted more.

“T-Takumi?” I asked.

“Y-Yeah?” He answered.

“She’ll be back, right?” I said.

“Uh huh.” He replied. I looked at him.

“W-Well, maybe, maybe we should practice, y-you know, l-like it’s real.” I stuttered.

“M-Mai.” He said his face getting red.

“I’ve liked you for a long time, you just never saw it.” I said quietly.
