I stood there shocked when I heard that from Mai. ‘She’s always liked me.’ I thought. “You…have liked me…for a while now?” I asked in disbelief.
She nodded and I kept staring at her ‘I’m not a person she should fall for.’ I thought. ‘But in this past month I really couldn’t take my eyes off of her.’ “I…think …over the past month I’ve fallen for you too.” I commented looking down at the floor.
“R-really?!” She said surprised.
“After that accidental kiss that one morning I couldn’t stop thinking about you, I wanted to protect you and keep you from harm even more then I usually did.” I told her.
The next thing I knew I was being tackled to the ground and Mai was laughing and hugging me. “So will you go out with me?” I asked.
She kissed me and I put my arms around her back and pulled her in closer. I heard my door open and I wanted to bring out my wings and cover Mai and myself but I remembered that my parents didn’t know about my wings or anything that happened to us so I just laid there and mom took another picture and then left. Mai got off of me and she seemed a bit dizzy.
“You alright?” I asked propping my self up on my elbows.
“You’re a really good kisser.” She sighed.
“Oh, thank you.” I said a bit confused. “Don’t you have to get home?” I asked.
“I completely forgot.” She said and jumped up.
I got up off the floor. “I’ll walk you home.” I told her.
“It’s alright I don’t want you to have to walk up your drive way again.” She said.
“Who said I was going to walk up my drive way.” I smirked and we walked out of my room.
“Bye Mr. and Mrs. Katsu.” Mai smiled.
“Bye sweetie.” My mom said and hugged her.
We got on our shoes and walked out of the house. We held hands down the drive way and it felt nice. When we got to her door I kissed her lightly one more time then went back towards my house.
“See you tomorrow Mai.” I waved.
“Yep, night.” She chirped and then went into the house.
Mom and dad weren’t lying after a couple of days of being home they left again. They waited till I got home from school to leave for the air port and they didn’t tell me how long they were going to be gone.
“Have a safe trip.” I told them shutting the trunk.
“I’m so sorry Takumi.” My mom said and hugged me tightly.
“Will you be alright on your own again?” Dad questioned.
“Yea, I’ll be fine.” I smiled and they both hugged me one more time then left. I went back into the house and I was alone again…like my life always was. I went into the kitchen then I felt someone grab me and put a cloth over my mouth and nose. I couldn’t see who it was but I started getting really dizzy and I fell asleep.
