Detective Novel Chapter 10

In the end Kalea managed to persuade Satu into letting her go by herself to the next scene, she made sure she had the right equipment to take photos without being noticed and to talk to the right people without being caught recording them. It was decided she would go as she was rather than shape-shifting although her face was quite English and if she said she was working on the case it wouldn’t take long for people to start suspecting her of being Kalea but she decided she would use an alias.
“Hey you! Yeah you, hey don’t walk away from me!” Kalea was having a hard time finding anyone to talk to everyone kept themselves to themselves she saw a scrawny looking guy wearing square glasses a typical sort of nerd “excuse me! Look I'm completely confused can you help me I'm working for both K and S” when she said that he became alert “look I want to ask about the fabric that was found in the last murder scene” he slowly nodded
“yeah they had it cleaned and they think it’s the sort of fabric that you get in rugs and curtains but it didn’t match any curtains or rugs in the house, you see clothing is much thinner material but rugs and curtains are thicker and more loosely threaded” she nodded
“thanks, if you don’t mind me asking but who do you work for?” he looked at her slightly suspiciously “you know, I haven't seen you at any of the scenes yet, how do I know your not just a member of the press?” she rolled her eyes we’ve been hacking into police files but we decided they weren’t showing us enough information so they sent me to get evidence” he waited for a moment before talking “yeah well that sounds plausible I wouldn’t put it past those two to do something like that but didn’t they have some guy working with them who hacked information from like all the systems?” she looked away from his eyes “he’s currently unavailable” the guy looked at her
“oh, I see, by the way my names Police chief Harman” he grinned at her
“damn” she laughed “don’t tell on us, we just needed the information, seeing as you’ve all decided you don’t want to work with us” he smiled
“it’s the director who sorts all that out” she nodded
“I'm Sarah Locke I'm from England I came over here with K herself” the guy looked surprised “sweet, you look English, your very, err, tall” her actual height was about 6’’8 which made her a lot taller than most people, this guy was only about 6’’0 she grinned “I know right, I get that a lot” it was true “although out of all the weird point of me height it really the lesser point don’t you think? Nobody questions me though because I'm scary” she laughed “anyway back to the investigation, do you think you could possible show me around?” he nodded and indicated that she should follow
“ill warn you now, it’s not pretty, you never really get used to seeing it” he lead her into the house there was a bloody handprint on the wall in the hallway “there's never any finger prints” he said sadly
“I know we established that as well” they walked on until they reached the dining room the walls were splattered with blood, all the wall paper was completely shredded by what must be very sharp nails “the killer himself didn’t leave any blood” he murmured “so he must be very strong because the victims didn’t manage to cut or attack him” she noted that fact he said him rather than “our killer” as Kalea tended to call them “do you mind if I take notes? Its only notes, I know its only the police who can take pictures so I was to write down what I see, I wont draw anything either, you can check before I go” he just nodded
