INTERVIEW TIME!!!!~~~~
Orkus: Let’s start of with your current record NIL which also has been released in Germany! Could you tell our readers why NIL should not be missing in their CD Collection?
Ruki: If your readers have not listened to the GazettE yet, they have missed the most important thing of their life (laughs)
Orkus: Have you ever thought about releasing your previous records in Germany?
Ruki: We have not planned anything in particular, yet we say it should not depend on the "wanting" aspect. We would like to release older records in Europe very much.
Orkus: How do you create your music?
Reita: Most of our music originates at home. We play the instruments and then give everything to Ruki. He then listens to every suggestion, works over the melody and puts the lyrics to the whole thing.
Orkus: Do you also use the Internet for the hand over?
Ruki: Internet?! No!
Reita: No, we burn everything on blank CD’s and when we meet, we exchange them.
Orkus: People say your lyrics are simply genius! Maybe you can tell us something about the content of your track "Cassis"?
Ruki: I try to make it short. A man has lost his love for four times. When he met the last woman, he was sure that he did not want to miss her ever again. The emotions which are close to one’s heart in such a situation are what I wanted to express with words in "Cassis".
Orkus: You also produce very nice PV’s! I know two of your clips. There is one with dolls that are playing with their hands. Is there a certain meaning behind this?
Ruki: Actually, Frankenstein gave me that idea. You take a doll and bring it to live. Then you might notice that the doll is quite similar to you in some ways and in the end, I am the doll myself. Not only the hands but the whole playing around with this material is ought to show how much you can be affected by this matter.
Orkus: How do you get inspired in general?
Ruki: Concerning the lyrics, I let myself getting inspired by the small things that happen in life. I don’t care if these small things seem to be not important to other people. I write down what I think about them and that does not necessarily need to be something that is of interest to the whole world.
Orkus: Besides your music, your styling is catching one’s attention very easily. Where does that taste for that fascinating clothing style come from?
Ruki: To be honest, I’ve always collected what I liked and in the end, this styling was created.
Orkus: How old were you when you developed these tends?
Ruki: Well, I was sweet little 15!
Reita: I was 18. Wait! Does that mean you are into this for longer!? (laughs)
Orkus: Does clothing change self-confidence?
Reita: We create all of our outfits ourselves and because of this, I guess, we can be proud of it and of course it changes self-confidence in the end!
Orkus: Is this styling personally important to you or do you think it just belongs to the stage performance?
Ruki: I think it belongs to the stage performance.
Reita: Yeah, in private life, I always dress in a suit with a tie (laughs) No, I was just kidding!
Orkus: Do you eventually use your outfits to keep some anonymity in your private lives?
Reita: Of course there are huge differences between our stage outfits and our private styling. Yet, there are fans that recognize us without make up and so on. But we think it is good that this happens not so often. It is because we want to live calmly outside the spot lights.
Orkus: What kind of feeling is it for you to see people dressed up like you in the audience?
Reita: I always think: Ah… look, this is me (laughs)
Orkus: For how long have you been in Germany now?
Ruki: For three days. Though today we’ve just been in the hall for rehearsals.
Reita: On the last days, we want to visit the churches and the city in general. We’ve also been to the Rein. But mainly we might be busy with work most of the time.
Orkus: Do you have certain expectations towards Germany?
Reita: In Japan, we have heard a lot about the german fans through what other bands have told us. They say german fans are very energetic and this is why we were looking forward to this country so much! Until now, we have noticed that germans are very polite, nice and reliable people!
