oh really? wait WHAT?

K'satri waited as patiently as she could for the last girl to finish her introduction(Stephene). She thought about her choice for leader, contemplating each person. Charles was out. He was to full of himself. Rei wanted nothing to do with leadership, so she decided he wouldn't be a wise choice. Jasper seemed nice enough if a little timid. Des seemed like she could lead, she had the discipline. But she hoped if Des was chosen, she'd be more confident in her ability to lead.

The last person to make an introduction was Stephene.

After she spoke, K'satri was having trouble making a decision. For her, the choice seemed impossible. In all truth, she didn't really mind who the leader was so long as she was sent to the oil plant instead of the solar, but still it was an important issue for the safety and management of their team.

"Hey," she spoke up, "Since we have a while until we get to our destination, why don't we sleep on it for a bit." She didn't want to make an impulsive decision.

She saw the others nod in agreement, as for once she was being sensible. "Good idea," Des said. "We'll decide after in a bit and make plans from there." The two girls, K'satri and Des, kept eye contact for a second longer. It seemed that something had passed between them. Not quite a challenge. More of a "let's-make-the-right-choices-for-the-team" look of determination.

Feeling slightly awkward, 'Satri shifted her gaze, leaning back into her seat. Just as she'd gotten comfortable, her communicator went off. She stared at the little display screen that proclaimed, "Message from: CHARLES"

Her face distorted slightly in confusion. Why would he be messaging her now? She opened the message…and nearly jumped out of her skin in shock. She read the message once, twice, and a third time until finally, she turned to Charles, anger and confusion contorting her features.

He grinned back, confident. She raised an eyebrow and turned away. She poked Des who happened to be sitting beside her. When she had the other girl's attention she pointed to the screen. Des looked up at 'Satri, bearing the same expression, then turned to Charles.

He still looked quite sure of himself.

'Satri began furiously tapping away at her communicator.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I'm ready for such an honor at this time. Let's focus on the mission for now, okay?

She sent the message, hoping that would get him off her back. She had never had a relationship before and she certainly didn't feel that now was the appropriate time or place. She glanced over at Charles as he was reading the message and accidentally caught his eye.

She blushed slightly, embarrassed. She realized immediately that this made her look interested. She stiffened, put on a poker face, and turned to chat with one of the others.

After a bit of light conversation, she announced that she'd like to take a look at the rest of the train.

"Anybody wanna go with me?"
