They... voted me WHAT? I was kind of in shock for the last few minutes of the train ride.
Once we got off and the message came through, I snapped back. It was my job to divide the teams. Whatever I decided, I had to make sure that Chuck- I mean, Charles was NOT with me. Speaking of which, where was that idio-
A loud screaming from Rei cut me off. Oh, there he was. He had managed to sneak up on the cat-like soldier and snap some cat ears on him. Admittedly, he did look good on him, but we couldn't afford to fight amoungst ourselves. So I went back to my thoughts for all of half a second when...
OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. The idiots were fighting. Jasper and 'Satri were pulling Rei off Charles.
"WHAT THE H*LL ARE YOU TWO IDIOTS DOING! We don't need to fight ourselves right now! BREAK IT UP!" I screached at them. Rei ripped off the ears and distanced himself, steaming, was Charles was still laughing. Still. Laughing. And making insulting comments. Like an idiot. Because he is one.
"Please don't put me on a team with him. I can't garuntee he'll come back," Rei muttered to me. I nodded. So that was at least two on our team now. We'll head to the solar plant. Charles's powers would probably end with him breaking some expensive equipment. Plus... I didn't really want to run into my dad at the coal plant. Not yet, at least.
Jasper... Well, he could be usefull with me, but I'd be afraid of him breaking something expensive with his power. So he would go to the coal plant. As much as I hate to think it, 'Satri's powers would be most useful at the coal plant, since the air there isn't that great. Which left Seth with us. She was suppose to have good aim with that gun of hers, so hopefully she wouldn't blow up too much...
"Okay! Now before Chuckles the Idiot decides to do anything more stupid, let's get going. At the Solar Plant will be me, Rei, and Seth. Sorry, 'Satri, but you'll be with Jasper and the idiot at the coal plant. Try to keep him in line, both of you. You three can go a bit more crazy there, less expensive equipment. My team, we need to be careful. Try to destroy as little machinery as possible. It's not cheap or easy to replace." Charles was beyond happy, and poor 'Satri... it's hard to describe the look on her face. And Rei looked ready to cry with joy.
Leaving the subway, we found two jeeps waiting for us, and I took a small glide ahead, checking them both out. Each had a GPS, programmed for one of the two destinations. Finding the one for the solar plant, I waved my group over.
"I recommend one of you drive and the other take shot gun. I take up... uh.. a bit more space." Man, it sounded like I was calling myself fat. How awkward...
"Driver!" Seth called happily. She dove for the driver side door handle and hopped in. Rei went around the other side and hopped over the door. I (considerably more calmly) climbed in the back.
"'Satri, make sure Chuck- I mean Charles doesn't drive!" I called to the other group. I just didn't trust him behind the wheel.
"Hey!" Charles yelled back. "You almost called me Chuckles! YEAH!" Of course that was what concerned him. Not the fact that I didn't trust him as far as I could spit. Just that I almost used his dumb nickname.
"Please drive now..." I muttered to Seth.
"No problemo! she laughed. And then she floored it. Of course it didn't have the best pick up, and she slowed down considerably later, but it got us a good head start.
And off to the first mission we go.
