K'satri made her way over. The other leeches were acting a bit like cowards, avoiding the area around K'satri. The Leech behind her, that she had lit on fire, seemed to lose whatever tension held it together, and spread out increasing the fire behind her. She resembled one of those old action movies, with the hero slowly walking away from an explosion.
She stopped by me, and flicked the little leach off my communicator into the fire. It flew directly in. "Thanks!"
"No problem." She looked at the fire, there was a breeze, and the fire seemed to magically blow out. "Anybody got anymore matches?"
I checked my pockets, "Nope."
Jasper looked at his hands. "I have this." His hands lit up the surrounding area as they got white hot. The ends of his clothes lit on fire, and he put it out.
"When did you get that?"
"I used the principal behind Rei's cauterizer. I then constructed, and upgraded it for combat use, replacing the skin on my hands with metal, and super heating it."
"Doesn't that hurt?"
"Not especially. I'm worried about using this too much though. It takes a lot of energy out of me." His hands turned back to their normal color.
He gave me an idea to impress K'satri. "I'm stealing this." I took K'satri's staff and ran off. I tore off part of my uniform, wrapped it around the end of the staff, and bopped a Leech with it to get it soaked in their goo. I brought it back. "I'm done stealing this."
K'satri hit me on the back of the head. "Oww, that hurt."
K'satri looked at me, "You're lying you baby. The only one who got hurt out of that was my hand."
"My heart got hurt, on Valentine's day of all days."
Jasper interrupted, "I get what you're getting at with the stave." He had his hands light up again and touch it. The part covered in cloth combusted. "We should be able to handle quite a few of them with my hands, and the stave, but they produce too fast to take all of them out." He pointed out to the largest mass of Leeches on a large smoking building. "If we gained access to that building, I would be able to shut down the power output. Without that, they won't be able to multiply. We should be able to take care of the rest of them in a blaze after we get it shut down." He turned back to us. "We will need to get me to the center of the building, and Charles."
"Yes, what heroic feat do you need of me?"
"Whatever you do, don't smash anything."
"Charles the Gentle could never smash anything."
"Good, if we lose the main computer in there, I could not shut this down. We need to be careful. Approaching this building will definitely seem to be a threat to their power supply. I have no doubt they will try to kill us. They will try to suck me dry of power, so I need you two to protect me carefully."
K'satri looked angry quick. "I'm the leader here, I give the orders."
"What do you want us to do then?" Jasper gave a smile.
"What you just said."
"Very well, I'll follow your orders to the letter."
K'satri pointed her stave at the building. "LET'S GO SQUAD!!!"
