The constant hum of the engines slowly subsided to silence. K'satri and me started to make our way through the leeches. Taking them out quickly and easily. They were all just sitting there now.
K'satri shouted towards me. "These ones are easy enough, I'll handle all the ones outside. You go see how Jasper is handling this."
"Will do beautiful."
I ran down the hallway, and found Jasper in a large room. The walls were covered with what looked to be a giant computer. The lights were off, except the main console. It looked like Jasper had cleared the room of leeches already.
"Jasper, how are things going in here."
"Odd, really odd. The leeches fled into the vents of the building. I'm trying to get the heat cranked up in there to get them out."
We sat around for a minute with only the sound of Jasper tapping at the keyboard.
"Ge... arl... t" There was someone screaming from outside. Probably K'satri, which means it's time for CHARLES THE RESCUE!!!
"I'll be right back Jas-"
"F-CK, Charles don't open that door."
"But, K'satri."
"She's fine right now, we have a problem though. Quick, what's the handle of that door make out of?"
"Metal."
"Don't touch that door. For things without brains, these things are far to organized. Close the vents."
I went around shutting the vents to the room.
"Here seems to be the situation Charles. I'm the only source of energy left on this plant, and you can believe they want that power." The vents rumbled. "Right now the leeches are at the door, super charging the door. Touching it would definitely be a lethal shock for either of us."
"et... o..." I heard another scream coming from outside. I cringed.
"There is also a large mass trying to flood through the vents of this room. If they get in we won't be able to fight back. We have enough oxygen to stay locked in here for a few hours, but if I used fire, we would no doubt suffocate. " A little bit of goo was seeping out of the vents.
"So we can't help K'satri?"
Jasper sat there silently for a second. "She'll have to help us, though she has troubles of her own current. Come here."
I moved over to the main console, there was a picture of the outside on the screen.
Jasper pressed a button and a video started. "This is the last of the video the camera outside recorded."
I saw myself running inside, and K'satri continuing to kill leeches left and right. All of them were still sitting perfectly still. Then, they all began to jiggle around. K'satri stopped hitting them around for a second, and it looked like she said something. The leeches all darted towards the largest one. Sparks, and a bright glow emanated from them huddled together. When the image was visible again, there was a single massive slime in the middle. It looked to be about three stories tall. K'satri gave a smile and started running at it. The giant leech began launching smaller pure white leeches at her. She dodged them, and one hit the camera.
Jasper shut down the computer. "We won't be needing that anymore. As you can see, we need to wait and hope K'satri can take care of it."
I then went and sat in the corner as CHARLES THE PITIABLE.
