~Charles
We had been running for a few minutes, when we finally decided to slow to a walk. The time from there in the sewers was just a matter of following Jasper, and grieving. It was obvious we had lost our pursuers already.
A few minutes later, we found the exit blocked by iron bars. It came out into a ditch below the town, where all sorts of nasty things were dumped.
"Rei, any chance you could spare a little more of that furry blood of yours?"
"You're just looking for an excuse to call me a furry at this point, aren't you. If I wasn't so d@mn tired, I would kick your ass." He opened up an old wound and splashed some on the bars, then cauterized his wounds. "You'll have to take care of the rest Chuckles, that's all the blood I'm going to be using.
The bars began to corrode a little, but it was only enough to weaken it. I gave it a solid punch with my good arm, as Charles The Ram!!! It was at that moment that I lost that title, as the punch did nothing. "It's no use, I'm far too tired to do anything to it."
Jasper stepped up to try. He produced a chainsaw like device from his arm. On start up, the machine fizzled, and lost a few parts. "F*ck" the broken parts cut his hand. "When that Stern women cut my arm, I think it broke a few things."
Des was laying against the wall, it looked like in the short down time, she had fallen asleep.
'Satri was the first to break the silence that ensued. "So, what do we do now, we can't sit here forever?"
"Is starting a race of sewer people an option?" I questioned.
"Shut up Chuckles."
"Why would you be that mean to your future love?
The conversation cut off for a bit. K'satri and Jasper joined Des in her nap. I listened to rats and the variety of sounds a place like this provided to a bunch of washed up soldiers. I kept trying to move my missing arm, it felt so weird without it. Wait a second...
"Hey Rei."
"What?"
"I heard you stayed by my bed forever, because you cared so much. Thanks furry."
"I didn't do it of my free will, Des said I had to."
"That's not what Des told me."
"... Hey Charles, look!"
"You're not distracting me that easily."
"No, seriously look."
He was pointing outside. It was hard to see, since night had recently arrived. It didn't help that the lake of filth was surrounded by trees. "I don't know what you can see with your furry eyes, but I don't see anything."
Then there was a double thud. The first thud was Rei's reaction of hurting his hand on the back of my head. The second came from where Rei had been pointing. A giant figure was making its way towards us. Rei was hurrying to wake everyone up.
After staring a bit I turned back. "What is that?"
Rei ran to the bars and turned to me. "It's a Ram. I'm going to try to use him as a way out. Everyone get away from the bars." He turned to the figure and began shouting to get it's attention. He followed this by throwing an assortment of trash that was laying about. This was plenty successful. The figure began rushing towards our location, on a crash course with the bars. "EVERYONE BACK UP NOW, WE DON'T WANT THE RUBBLE CRUSHING ANYONE. BE READY TO FIGHT IT ONCE IT BREAKS THROUGH.
