When i was young, i lived with my mom and three brothers. My mom would always beat us phyiscally, and mentally as well. She would make two of us fight each other and the loser of them would be beaten by the other three. It was a hard life living with her. But my dad one day got us from here (i don't know how he did that) and now we have been living with him for years. We moved from Sacremento California to a little town called Kenilworth Utah. I now have been having a ordinary life.....kind of. My dad was a Seargeant in the United States Marine Corp. Me, now i am going to enlist in the Marines and become an Officer. My family has been Marines since they were born back in the 1770's. I also now have a beautiful fiance. And i have met a girl also who is my bestest best friend. Well actually two. One is Anne. They have made a really big impact on my life. Then two peple outside my family that me and my other brothers consider our brothers as well. Our life had grown up around those two guys.

Resident Evil Umbrella’s Revenge
ONE
Leon was just getting out of the shower when the phone rang, “Leon it’s for you.” Jill said as Leon wrapped a towel around him and went to the phone by his bed.
“Hello?”
“ Leon it’s me Kevin Ryman, I got some bad news. Just meet me at the diner on the edge of town, and bring who ever you can get with you. Meet there at 2:00 a.m.” Then the phone went dead. Leon started to think who to get, then remembered about Chris Redfield, Enrico Marini, Jericho, Esther, Billy Coen, and Cole. He grabbed his clothes and went back into the bathroom, but before he got in al the way, Jill asked him a question, “who was it?” Leon turned around with a scared look on his face. Jill got the hint that it wasn’t good, “ I’m coming with you.” He didn’t answer, just went into the bathroom and put his clothes on. When he came out, Jill was wearing her blue tube top with her black tight skirt. She was starting to put the beret on when the door bell rang. When Leon opened it, there were a few people standing there. It was Chris, Billy, and Enrico.
“ How did you guys know I was here? Neither Jill and I made calls yet.”
“Yeah we know. The mysterious Trent showed up inside the base.” Chris said as they walked in.
“base?”
“Forget I said that. Now when and where are we going?”
It was only 11:30 at night, so Leon told them exactly what happened and where they were going. As he did, Jericho, Esther, and Cole walked in without knocking, “ where’s Claire?” Leon was starting to sit down on the couch.
“ She is at the Phoenix base. You should remember from the last outbreak.”
Leon started to tell them about Kevin’s call.
Leon went to his gun closet and started packing his guns in duffel bags. Chris looked over at Enrico, then at Esther and saw her looking back at him. He knew everyone was wondering who was behind this. Chris knew he had been in too many outbreaks, he hoped that what Ryman had to say was not about another outbreak. But by how he sounded when he talked to Leon, it wasn’t good at all. Maybe it was something about Umbrella, maybe it was about someone chasing him, or it could be a joke. Who knew? When Leon walked back out into the living room with 6 duffel bags, everything was silent. He tossed the bags in the middle of the floor and started slapping magazines into the guns. He had shotguns, handguns, magnums, sniper rifles, and grenade launchers. Chris, Billy, and Jericho started helping, while Enrico went to the bathroom and Esther just sat there. It was only 1:30, they had 30 minutes to get to the diner and meet Ryman, but the diner was an hour away.
“ We won’t make it in time. He’ll leave before we get there.” Jericho stood up and looked at the clock.
“ Don’t worry I have a secret helo for an emergency evac. We can get there in about twenty minutes.” Leon pulled out the key for his helicopter. They grabbed the bags and headed for the helo, “ we need to get Claire. Chris you’re a licensed pilot, you fly the helo to the diner. I’ll go and grab Claire. Jericho you come with me, Chris when you get there, tell him I had to make a stop somewhere and I’ll be there in a few.”
Chris took the key and headed to the copter, when he got there he stopped and looked at the helo. It was Huey, it was just barely big enough to fit all of them in the chopper. As he warmed it up, Billy, Enrico, Cole, and Esther climbed in and set the duffel bags down nest to the seats. Esther sat down next to Chris and started to talk.
“ Great, we’ve been married for 4 years and already something bad happened.” She sighed and the roar of the helo got louder as he started to take off. The Huey is the same helo Chris trained with in the air force, so he could handle it easy. Esther looked in the back and saw Cole talking to the others, by the laughs, he must have been making funny jokes. Cole opened the door in the back and seen some tactic vests. He passed them out, while Chris started to descend. They were landing, and everyone got ready to hop out and run into the diner. Chris landed smoothly in the middle of the intersection in Raccoon. They were living in an abandoned city. When Billy got in first, he didn’t see anyone sitting anywhere. Then got pissed.
“ Damit. He fucking left. Shit!” As Chris came in, they heard something moving in the back if the diner. They all raised their handguns and aimed into the kitchen.” Kevin Ryman?”
At that time, a gun was jammed into the back of Billy’s neck, “ Who are you guys?”
“ it’s us, we’re with Leon, he just had to make a quick stop.” The gun lowered.
“ I’m Kevin Ryman.”
Jill looked behind her, and saw a man with medium black hair and a RPD uniform. She had seen him in The RPD building before, just never talked to him. He seemed like a nice guy, “ I’m Jill Valentine, this is my husband Leon, Chris Redfield, Enrico Marini, Billy Coen, Cole, and Leon and Jericho went to get Chris’s sister Claire.” They sat down at the tables and started talking about each other and what they missed. A couple minutes later, they heard some skidding outside, they whipped out their guns and pointed them out the door. Leon, Jericho, and Claire came in, Ryman looked at him and shook his hand. It has been about 6 years since Leon and Ryman had seen each other.
“ Okay now that you guys are all here, I have some bad news. Umbrella is back and more powerful than ever.” Everyone’s mouth were wide opened, “ They have a new B.O.W, I don’t know what it is or the name, but Since I found out, they started to hunt me down, so I......” Then they heard some noises coming from outside. Chris was hoping it was Umbrella, while they were standing there with their guns pointing out the door, the glass windows started to shatter from gun shots. Everyone took cover and Chris grabbed Esther, and pulled her to the ground. Luckily no one was hurt, so they all jumped over the counter and pulled out their 9mm, everything else was left in the chopper. The people outside started to come in, but didn’t fire.
“ All of you come out with your hands up!” It was Umbrella, Esther, Claire, and Jill all were laying down, and the others were sitting up with their backs to the counter and their guns out. “ you got 5 seconds before we open fire again. 5…4…3…2…1…” Chris and the others popped up and took out all the Umbrella guards. Billy made sure that no one else was outside. They were clear, for now.
“ Guys hurry and get in the chopper, I’ll explain everything on the way.” Kevin said getting the guns from the guards. Everyone got in the chopper and Billy, Cole, and Ryman had to sit on the edge with their feet hanging out the side doors. “ Chris, you need to get us to Berlin, that’s where Umbrella is hiding.”
Chris nodded and started towards Berlin, Germany. Leon had plenty of fuel cans in the back of the helo. Several hours later, they arrived in Berlin, Chris landed somewhere in a forest.
TWO
They all piled out with Chris, Jericho, and Billy each carrying 2 bags full of guns and ammunition. Chris and Jill started to get nervous, because the forest reminded them of Spencer’s mansion. They were hoping that nothing would jump out and kill one of them. Enrico pulled out his 9mm and headed for a large 6 story building just a couple hundred feet away from them. Everyone else started to follow him behind. “ I want everyone walking towards the building in a circle formation with the people in the back turned around watching our backs.” Chris was whispering. They were halfway when they heard a gasp, coming from Jill. “What is it Jill?”
She picked something up from the dirt. “Ohh my gosh, It’s a hand?” She dropped it and almost puked. Leon went to her side and started to move her while looking at the hand. They finally made it to the building; it was just a business building. When Enrico opened the door, he instantly pulled out his 9mm. “Guys, someone already beat us here.” Cole went in and look through the already searched desk drawers.
“Yeah they are still here. Split up and search for the missing person. If it’s Umbrella, kill them. If it’s not, bring them back here.” Chris, Esther, and Jericho went in one direction, Cole, Billy, and Claire went in another, then Leon, Jill, Enrico, and Ryman went in some other direction. Chris and his small group went to the second floor and started to search. Nothing was said for a while until they came to an unlit room. “There must be something in there, because whoever was here last, didn’t go in the room, or at least had the courtesy to turn out the light when they ere done. I’ll go in and search, you guys stay out here and make sure no one comes up behind me.” Chris pulled out his 9mm and walked in the room. It was over his right shoulder pointing towards the ceiling. When he walked in, he started to think he wasn’t alone. But before he pulled out his flashlight, someone kicked his gun out of his hand and hit Chris. Chris turned around and they started to fight, after a couple seconds, they had a hold of each other’s throats. “ I only know one person who has those kinds of moves.” They let go of their throats. Chris turned on the lights and turned around. He couldn’t believe his eyes, “Barry? I thought you were dead. You turned into a zombie and Esther had to shoot you.”
“Actually, I wasn’t a zombie, Trent saved me from the hoard of zombies, and saved me from the explosion of the facility. She hit me just above the lungs. Luckily I lived, I had to have surgery, I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you, When you guys got rid of Umbrella the last time, you moved and I didn’t know where you were. Plus I never saw Trent again.”
Chris and Barry walked out of the room and Chris’s hope for bringing Umbrella down had gone way up. He hadn’t seen Barry for several years. When they got out of the room, Jericho and Esther looked at Barry then started smiling.
“ Barry? I thought….” Barry lifted his shirt up and pointed to the spot where Esther had shot him. They smiled then heard the doors on the same floor break open. Some zombies started to pour out of the rooms. Chris, Jericho, and Esther pulled out their shotguns and just dropped all of them with a couple shots. Barry pulled out his beloved Colt Python and shot a zombie behind them in the head. The head flew off and landed next to Chris. They didn’t have enough ammo to kill all of them. So they just charged through without getting scratched or bitten.
Leon, Jill, Enrico, and Ryman heard the shots and hurried to their position. Billy’s group also heard the shots and met up with Leon’s group at the stairs. They ran up and saw Barry, Chris, Jericho, and Esther all standing there making sure no more zombies came out of the doors. They looked at the zombies and just sighed. Billy knew it was Barry the second he looked at Barry’s back. When they were sure no more zombies would come, they started to talk again. But this was simple and short, they started to hear scratching noises, it was like metal scratching metal, really annoying, and loud. They looked down the hall and saw a creature walking on the ceiling towards them. Chris tried to fire but it didn’t do anything to the creature. Its tongue tried to wrap around Chris’s head, but he dodged it easily. The damn thing was a licker. It’s tongue went for Cole’s arm, but it hit his neck and started to bleed a lot. Barry pulled out his .357 and blew its head completely in half. Enrico grabbed some bandage tape and a small cotton towel. He wrapped the tape around the cotton towel and his neck to stop the bleeding.
“ I don’t think you should mutate from this, unless its tongue had the virus in it. But that’s not very likely.” Enrico helped him up to his feet.
“ thanks Enrico. I’ll be alright for now.” Cole’s voice was very quiet, but loud enough to hear. If Cole was to mutate, that will take a long time, there is too much muscle for the virus to travel fast enough to kill him, also if he was going to mutate, it’ll be about 5 hours, enough time for them to find some anti-virus.
“okay, let’s split up again and search the rest of this building, wait, never mind. Let’s all be in a group and search together. We need to hurry up and get out of here. Cole, if you start feeling sick or different, YOU MUST LET US KNOW.” Billy was helping Cole walk, because it was hard for him to walk without falling. Chris and Barry were in front of the group kicking open every door they found. But nothing, when they got to the fifth floor, they heard a noise coming from a room, but couldn’t tell what it was, or what room it was coming from. “ You guys get back to the helo, if anything happens, take off, Barry and I’ll catch up later. WE need to check this out.” Esther and the others headed back to the helo while Chris and Barry searched the floor. One of the doors opened, but some guys dressed in black came out. He was unarmed, and defiantly not a zombie. It wasn’t Trent though, the guy was much shorter than Trent, but bigger than Chris. “who are you?” Chris demanded. When the guy didn’t answer, Chris was starting to get worried. They guy could be working with Umbrella, or the B.O.W Ryman was talking about in the copter earlier. Chris pulled out his gun and pointed it at the guy, “I’m not going to ask again, WHO ARE YOU?!” All they got was a little laugh. They couldn’t see the guy’s face at all, his head was pointing towards the ground. “Okay listen asshole, I don’t know who you think you are, and when we ask you questions, YOU WILL ANSWER.” The guys looked up and Chris looked at his facial features. The guy had a scar running clear across his right eye down to his mouth. He was about 6’5” mid 30’s. Barry pulled back the hammer on his Colt Python. The man just smiled, “ I’m not gonna tell you my name, but I know who you guys are, Barry and Chris. We don’t have much time, your buddies are about to take off in the helo, there are zombies crawling all over outside. So I have something to help you guys.” The man handed them a small cell phone with a map and compass on it. “ You guys will need that, it tells you where to go and has a map of the area in it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some business to attend to.” The tall man walked away and faded out as he got farther away.
“who the hell was he?” Chris asked flipping open the cell phone. But before he could look at it, Chris and Barry heard the helo ascending, they ran and looked out the east window. Barry broke the window and started yelling at them.
“We’ll move closer, just jump on board.” Jericho called as he moved the helo closer to the building. Barry moved back, and jumped into the helo easily. Chris started running towards the helo but as he jumped, Jericho accidentally moved the helo and Chris almost didn’t make it. But he managed to grab a hold on the support bars. Jericho took off and Enrico and Billy helped Chris in, as soon as he got in, he took over for Jericho who could barely fly. “so what was that noise?”
“Some guy, don’t know who, gut he gave us a cell phone with a map of somewhere we need to go. Chris head 20 degrees towards the south and head straight for 20 miles.” Barry flipped open the cell phone. Kevin Ryman choked on his own spit as he heard Barry say that. “What is it?”
“You don’t know where we’re heading. That place is full of zombies and dogs. I’m not sure how safe it is exactly.” When Chris got the 20 miles, the helo started to experience engine failure. There was a loud beeping as everyone grabbed onto something. They were going down pretty hard but Chris managed to land it sift enough where no one was seriously hurt. When they hit, there was just a big cloud of dust, as they all were holding their heads and sat up. “Is everyone fine?” Ryman asked although he already knew everyone was okay. “Grab the bags and let’s get out quietly.” They grabbed the bags and got out quietly, but quickly. They started looking around the area and saw nothing but some trees and a lot of buildings several hundred feet apart. “ Okay there is nothing here right now, but……” They heard some growls and moans coming from the trees. “ ohh shit! Split up and Run for the buildings. GET OUT OF HERE!” Everyone took off running towards the buildings Chris stayed with Esther, Leon stayed with Jill, and Billy carried Cole on his shoulders. If they didn’t reach the buildings soon, they were going to be dog food for the day. Ryman reached a building and busted through the door, no one else followed him to that building, he quickly closed the door and started looking around. The lights were on, and this was just a plain house. He was alone, no one to help him, but he had a duffel bag with a shotgun, 15 shotgun shells, 8 more clips for his 9mm, a grenade launcher with only 1 grenade, and his 9mm he’s carrying with him right now. So he had a total of 195 9mm bullets. He could last for a while, assuming he only ran into zombies. He closed up the duffel bag and looked around trying to decide where he should go. He decided to check the first floor first, he started to look for the kitchen to find something to eat, because he hadn’t eaten anything since they’ve gotten to Germany. He reached the kitchen a minute later and looked in the fridge for something to eat.
Claire got in a building that was only 2 rooms, the main room, and the back room. She had no weapon, and was all alone too. So was really scared right now, the last time she was this scared, was back in Raccoon. She grabbed anything that could be used as a deadly weapon, but there was nothing around except for an umbrella. But how could she use that as a deadly weapon? Maybe she could just use it for defense, she grabbed it and noticed a door in the floor. “Wonder where this leads to.” She kneeled down and pulled on the handle and the door easily came open. “Someone must have been here before me.” She hopped down into the hole and looked around for anything. She heard a noise from around the corner. She pulled out the umbrella, but what would that do? She went around the corner, and saw a zombie coming towards her moaning. She hit the thing across the head with the metal end of the umbrella and made it stumble a little. She punched it then kicked it and made the ugly bastard fall. She took the umbrella and stabbed it right through the throat with the tip. She continued on, “ Oh Chris, please be alright.” She kept saying that to herself until she reached a dead body with a Browning HP in the hand. Claire felt relieved as she picked it up and looked at the clip to see how much ammo was in it, a full magazine. She searched the rest of the body and found nothing except for an I.D tag. The man was a worker for Umbrella. She went through a door about 30 feet to her right and found a gun pointing in her face. She made a quick gasp and the gun lowered. It was Ryman. “Oh thank gosh it’s you. Sorry I almost…..shot you. You okay?”
“Yeah, what is that in your hand?”
“A ham sandwich, we should keep moving.” Ryman turned and started to head back to the main room.
“You think the others made it?”
Ryman stopped and cocked his head towards Claire, “I don’t know, those dogs were fast, just stay with me and we won’t split up. Okay?” Kevin picked up the bag with the weapons and ammunition. “You need ammo for your Browning?”
“Yeah, I found this just before I met up with you.” Ryman lifted the bag higher and shook it a little. Claire knew he had a lot of ammunition. They smiled at each other and heard a noise coming from the second floor. They both pulled out their pistols and headed towards the stairs. Ryman was in front of Claire, and the only thing Claire could see really, was the RPD logo on his back. He stopped in front of the stairs and turned to Claire.
“Be careful.” They slowly walked up the stairs pointing their guns in opposite directions, each aiming down the hall. When they got to the top, they didn’t see anything. When they lowered their guns, they were knocked to the ground. When they rolled onto their backs, they saw people pointing machine guns at them and wearing Umbrella jackets. Neither Kevin nor Claire said anything as they were being cuffed. They got blind folded and were pulled to their feet. All they heard was “Take them to the jail cells.” The voice sounded kind of familiar to them.
Chris and Esther sat up as Chris closed the front door behind them. He looked over at Esther making sure that she wasn’t bitten. Chris opened the bag and started to pull out the weapons to see what they have, 5 boxes of 30 round 9mm bullets, a shotgun with 20 shells, and a sniper rifle with 15 bullets. It wasn’t a lot so they’d have to conserve the ammo. “Well, let’s search this place for anything to get a ride out of here. This is a garage, so it has to have some cars or something.” Chris grabbed the bag and picked up his 9mm. Esther already had hers in her hand, they headed to the back hoping to find a car, or truck. Anything to get them out of there. Chris was already hating Germany, he laughed at how many outbreaks he’d been in and Umbrella is still failing to kill him. When they got to the garage door, they both took a deep breath and opened the door. Esther had her fingers crossed as Chris slowly opened the door. When it was opened all the way, Chris sighed. “Thank you god.” He said to himself. Esther opened her eyes and felt like jumping for joy. They had 3 cars and 2 trucks. “Let’s hurry up and find the others.” Chris closed the hood to one of the cars. They didn’t take any of the cars to look for the others; they just grabbed the duffel bag and went to the front door. Chris slowly opened the door and found no zombies or dogs out there. Chris motioned for them to slowly walk outside. Esther nodded and cocked her handgun. A couple minutes after walking through mud, there was a noise coming from one of the buildings. They hurried to the door and slowly opened it. When they got inside, Chris and Esther saw the rest of the gang except for Claire and Ryman.
“Where are Claire and Ryman?” Chris asked with a worried face.
“Don’t know, but I think they’re safe though.” Leon told him.
At that time, they all heard a loud scream; it was a girl’s scream. Chris knew who it was. “CLAIRE!” The scream was coming from a different building, but she screamed pretty loud for them to hear it. “Barry, you, Jericho, Enrico, and Billy come with me and get them back. The rest of you stay here and DON’T go anywhere.” The people Chris told to come, whipped out their little 9mm and went out the door. They could tell what building it was coming from, so they headed in that direction. On the way, they found some dead bodies from a couple zombies. They defiantly took Claire and probably Ryman in the same place. When they got to the building, Enrico shot the lock and the door slowly opened by itself. As they all got inside, the same guy that Barry and Chris met up with in the other building appeared in front of them.
“We don’t have much time so listen….”
“Well if we don’t have much time, then why are we fucking talking to you right now? Just tell us where they took Ryman and Claire.” Jericho said pushing the man aside.
“You can’t get to them if you don’t have the key. I have it right here.” He handed Enrico the key. “You got to get to the basement, but there are some…obstacles that you must get through. I can’t tell you what they are right now, but all I can say is that you can find an alternate route pass them. You must find the route.” Then he walked into a room and disappeared.
Billy looked at everyone and shrugged. They went to the elevator and pushed the button to open it, but when it opened, the elevator was full of zombies. They started to pile out, but Chris and the others just ran to the stairs. When they got down to floor 1, one of the doors opened. It wasn’t a zombie that came out though. The man wasn’t even bitten.
“Don’t shoot.” The guy ran to them and lowered his hands. “I’m not bitten, I’ve been hiding here for a while. My name is Weber; I’m part of Umbrella’s U.B.C.S team. My whole squad was killed except for 2 while trying to contain this incident. I don’t know where they’re at the moment.”
Barry and the others looked at each other then back at him. “Come with us then.”
The guy smiled and went back into the room and came out with a couple G36 machine guns. He tossed what he had to Barry, Chris, and Enrico. He had one for himself, and that was all he had. Chris started to head to the basement again and came to the door where they need the key to get in. Enrico put the key in the lock and turned it. The lock opened and the door opened.
McAllen was on the rooftop of the building that they were holding Claire and Ryman in. He watched Chris, Barry, Billy, Enrico, and Jericho go in, then sat down on the roof. He just sat there looking over the edge at some zombies and dogs. McAllen was one of Weber’s U.B.C.S partners, he was second-in-command. Then his buddy Mark Thomas walked through the roof door with some bags, and by the expression of his face, he also had some news with him.
“Hey Mark, what’s up?”
“Weber is still alive, and he found the group of people that came here. They have the key.”
“Well, let’s make sure that they don’t get out of here. Set up the sniper rifles on the front side to cover the front door, and do the same with the back. If you see them, shoot them in the legs, so they can’t get far and the zombies can have a snack.”
Thomas smiled and ran to the back and set up his PSG rifle with a silencer. McAllen grabbed his and went to the front.
When the door opened, they saw Claire with her pants halfway off? And Ryman on another tables asleep. “Claire!”
She turned and looked at them. “Chris help me, they did stuff you don’t want to know to me. They also were gonna use the G-Virus on us. But luckily you guys came.” Chris went over and untied her hands and legs. Then went over to Kevin and did the same. He woke up as Chris was untying his legs.
“Thanks, did they inject us with anything?”
“No, now let’s get out of here fast.” Chris looked back over at the rest of them.
“What’s the rush?” A voice said over the microphone. “We’re just about to start the party. You got to stay, hmhmhmhmhm.”
Who ever he was, he was watching them from somewhere close by. They just needed to get out before they all were killed. They headed for the door, but they got there without any problems, whatever the party was, it sure wasn’t in the room with them. When they got out of the room, something big came crashing through the ceiling. After the dust cleared, they looked at the big fleshy thing; Claire remembered back in Raccoon, it was another Bandersnatch. She and Burnside ran into these before. Billy pulled out his 9mm and aimed at the head.
“Aim for the eyes.” Claire told Billy. Billy nodded and fired 2 quick shots about ¼ of a second apart at the eyes. The bandersnatch let out a loud scream as it fell to the floor. They all jumped over the wide body and ran to the front door. Chris opened the door and stepped out into the dark cold night. AS they ran back to Barry, there was a sniper rifle shot heard and Weber collapsed. The sniper had shot Weber, they turned and looked on the rooftop and saw some guy wave at them, then another come up to his side. It was too dark to see who they were. Billy quickly picked up Weber and ran at his fastest speed to catch up with Chris and the others. There was another shot, but it hit just a few inches into the dirt on the right of Billy. When they got to the house where Barry and the rest of them were at, they started banging on the door as Billy ran and kicked the door open and took it off the hinges. Leon was coming down the stairs when the door almost smacked into him. They ran up the stairs and followed Leon to the room where the others were at. When they got there, Billy set Weber on the couch.
Everyone was running and yelling stuff at each other to get some medical equipment. Barry, Chris, Enrico, and Billy were getting everyone to shut up. Then Jill came back into the room with a bunch of medical stuff.
McAllen and Thomas walked into the house they were in that had no doors. They heard a lot of yelling and Weber yelling in pain. They smiled and walked into the room with them. Weber looked towards the door and saw McAllen and Thomas.
“Guys, you’re alive.”
“Yeah, what happened to you?” McAllen asked as if he didn’t shoot Weber. He already knew what happened though. No one answered him until Chris was getting ready to pull the bullet out of Weber’s leg. Cole was laying on the bed close by holding his neck.
“Weber I gotta get the bullet out, and it’s going to hurt.” Weber nodded and Chris counted to 3. On three, he stuck his hand in and started to feel around for the bullet. Weber was yelling way too loud, so Esther grabbed a sock from the dresser and shoved in Weber’s mouth. It made a big difference in how loud it was. Then Chris finally got the bullet out and stitched him up. After everything was quiet again, the heard noises coming from Cole.
“Cole, you okay?” Billy asked but no answer. He ran into the bedroom and found Cole bleeding more than he should. “CHRIS, get in here quick!”
Chris came in with real bloody hands, and saw Cole rolling on the bed. “Cole?”
They started to see some spikes and giant veins coming out of his body. Then Cole stopped moving. Chris pulled out his 9mm slowly and aimed it at Cole’s neck. But Cole got up and ran off as one of the walking dead. But he was no normal zombie, he was actually mutating into a B.O.W. Chris went running down the stairs after him, but couldn’t catch up to Cole, he already had mutated enough to give him super speed. But when Chris got to the top of the stairs, zombies were just pouring into the house. He turned around and ran back to the room. “Guys, we need to go now. Esther and I found some vehicles in the garage. We can use those to get out of here. Just follow me. Billy and Enrico ran out of the bedroom and started firing. Jericho went out to cover them while they got Weber to the window. Then the lights started to flicker and caused a strobe light. So it made it a lot harder to hit the zombies. But Jericho, Enrico, and Billy still managed to take down the zombies until they ran out of bullets for their clip. Everyone ran and jumped out of the window and Billy grabbed Weber and jumped out of the house with him. They all sprinted towards the garage following Chris, while firing behind them. Most of their shots found the marks, but a couple missed and they were almost out of bullets, so they just ran the rest of the way. When they got to the garage, Leon was last one in right behind Jill, he slammed the door closed and heard a dog hit the Door and yipe. Chris, Billy, Enrico, Jericho, and McAllen ran to the vehicles and started them up. Who ever drove the vehicles last, the assholes left the keys in them. Esther jumped in Chris’s truck, Leon and Jill got in Billy’s, Thomas got in with McAllen, and the rest of them got in with Enrico and Jericho. They didn’t bother to open the garage door, so they just ran through it and started to head somewhere, anywhere, as long as they got out of there. After they got out of the forest onto the streets, they pulled over and got out for a minute.
Claire Ryman closed the door on the trunk making sure that the duffel bags were still in there. “So, where to now?”
“Uh, how about over to Frankfurt.” McAllen said as if wasn’t a question.
Everyone got back in and headed to Frankfurt, it would take a while to get there so they decided to take a detour. It was off road, but at least they could get there quicker. Luckily there was a C.B in each vehicle. “Guys, just follow us we know these roads, we were stationed here along time ago.” Thomas’s voice was heard over the C.B. They turned onto a dirt road about a mile up the road and just headed straight for a couple miles. Then Chris’s truck died on them and everyone just pulled to the side of the road. They got out and Chris was looking at the engine. Everything seemed to be normal, it just must of ran out of gas on them.
“McAllen and I’ll go get a couple tanks of gas for it. Just wait here.” McAllen and Thomas jumped back in and took off pretty fast leaving a big cloud of dust behind.
“Okay guys, until they get back, we should just get some rest. We’ll sleep in shifts. Jericho, Enrico and I’ll stay up for 3 hours and watch our asses while you guys sleep.”
Jericho, Enrico, and Chris walked around while the others started to fall asleep. About an hour later, Enrico heard some sticks break.
“Guys, over here.” Enrico whispered to Chris and Jericho.
They waited another minute and started to hear sticks break nonstop. They couldn’t see anything for a while until a couple people showed up. They weren’t bitten, so Chris, Enrico, and Jericho lowered their guns.
“Who are you guys?” Chris asked the 4 people. But before they answered, a dog jumped on of the men and started to eat. Jericho aimed at the dog and started to fire repeatedly. Everyone woke up and looked at Jericho. Then they looked down the road and saw the biggest crowd of zombies they had ever seen. There had to be at least 300 of the flesh eating mother fuckers. Ryman ran over to Claire and picked her up and pulled her to the truck and everyone piled in the 3 available vehicles. Claire was shaking as Ryman took off down the road with the rest of them behind him. Claire was riding shotgun with 2 of the other survivors in the back seat.
“Thank you Kevin.” She was still shaking a lot, then took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
Kevin looked back at her and smiled. “Anytime.”
Chris, Jericho, and Enrico were behind everyone else since they had to stay behind and cover them while the others got in the vehicles. Esther, Jill, Leon, Weber, and Billy were in the 2nd car and about a half mile ahead of Chris. Enrico and Jericho checked the ammo, they had all of the bags in their car, but everyone else had their pistols with just the one clip in it. “McAllen and Thomas should have been back by now. Where the hell are they?” Enrico slapped in a clip.
“Who cares right now, they had guns when they left, they’ll be fine for a while.”
After another minute of silence, Claire’s voice came on the C.B. “Chris did you guys make it?”
“Yeah we’re okay you guys just go on ahead to Frankfurt. Let us know where you guys will be at.” After Chris set the C.B down, something ran across the road from right to left almost 3 feet in front of them. Chris slammed on the brakes and Enrico pulled out the sniper rifle that had a night vision scope on it.
“Nothing, just a wild animal, not infected.” As Enrico pulled the gun back in the window, something even bigger ran past the car heading the way they were. Enrico stuck the rifle out again and looked at the creature.
“What the fuck’s that?” Enrico fired a shot at the back, but whatever it was, it didn’t flinch. “Chris, step on it!” Chris put the pedal to the medal and zoomed past the ugly ass thing. As he got 20 feet ahead of it, the back window shattered.
“HOLY HELL! Who the hell is that Mother Fucker?!”
THREE
McAllen and Thomas started to slow down at a gas depot. McAllen started to smile, “It’s a shame that this gas depot has no gas………” Then something fell over in the building. Both McAllen and Thomas pointed the SA80 assault rifles at the building as they slowly walked inside. When they got inside, something else fell. “Come out now. We won’t hurt you.” The first thing they saw was a pair of hands stick out of the aisle, and then the rest of the body came out. The person wasn’t bit, just hungry. He was definitely human, and another member of a different squad of Umbrella’s U.B.C.S team. They guy lowered his hands as he picked up his gun.
“Thank god, I thought I was the last U.B.C.S alive. Good to see you guys.”
“You got ammo?”
“Yes, plenty too. I’ve been hiding here for a week now. Wait, don’t I already know……..” McAllen stabbed the soldier in the stomach with his combat knife and watched the guy lay there and bleed to death. “Oh, I always love this site.” McAllen said grabbing the guy’s gun and ammunition.
“Yeah, when do we give the others to the zombies?”
“When the time is right. Hell, I think it’s funnier to let them get scared shitless, then we throw them into a crowd of zombies, like we did with the rest of the squads. Hehehe”
Thomas smiled and they went outside to fill up the gas tanks. “We’ll just take these for us.” McAllen set the tanks in the bed of the Dodge and got back in the driver’s seat with Thomas already in shotgun.
After Barry and the other car got to Frankfurt, the just stayed in the cars until Chris, Enrico, and Jericho arrived. When they did arrive everyone ran over to the car and looked at the back window.
“Chris what happened?” Barry asked picking up a piece of glass. He knew it wasn’t good.
“We ran into some trouble. It’s the B.O.W Kevin talked about. It has like a big ass minigun or something. It blew out our back window, it’s fast as hell too.” Jericho grabbed a couple bags and tossed them to Chris and Enrico. “Did you guys see McAllen or Thomas?”
“No, let’s just look around here then leave. McAllen and Thomas will catch up eventually. We need to get Weber to a hospital, but this city is abandoned already. Where the hell do we go?” Chris set the Jericho set the bag down on the ground. Just then, they heard a little scream from a young lady.
“Help me.” It was pretty quiet, but still loud enough to make out what she was saying. Barry signaled for Chris and Enrico to follow. When they turned the corner and was out of sight from the others, they lowered their guns.
“It’s good to be on a search and rescue mission with other fellow S.T.A.R.S members.”
Enrico said in relief.
Before Barry replied, he stopped pointing at something. “Is that Umbrella’s castle entrance?” Chris, Barry, and Enrico looked at the building confused.
“I guess it is. But if it’s out in the open like this, it has to be a trick to get inside. Be careful, let’s just go back and get the others.”
McAllen and Thomas pulled into Frankfurt just an hour after he stabbed the soldier. “Thomas, pull out the map and find the castle entrance. We’re gonna go there and wait for those dumbasses to find this place. Then we let them in the castle and take them prisoner, and slowly feed them to the zombies.”
“Uh, I like the other plan better; let’s just blow up the castle right now. They will live a little longer out here anyway, which means they will get scared shitless even more.”
“Hmm, yeah you’re right, let’s blow it up NOW!” McAllen pulled out a remote from his side pack and showed it to Thomas, then let out a quiet evil laugh. He pushed the button and a couple seconds later, the whole city shook like an earthquake. Who ever was in a fifty foot radius of the underground building would be dead. Hopefully Barry, Enrico, and Chris were already backing with the others.
As Barry sat up he noticed Enrico was still laying face down and Chris was rubbing his head. He started to help Enrico up, but Rico got up before Barry got to him.
“Damit that hurt. Who the hell blew up the place?” Chris wiped the blood off his face, his head was cut kind of bad, but he’ll live.
Before they said another word, a bullet hit right by them, They looked in the direction where it came from, but couldn’t see anything. Another bullet hit right by them again, and they all got up and ran into a building nearby. Neither of them could tell where they were, but it was better than being outside. Enrico looked around and saw nothing out of the normal.
“Let’s split up and search this building. Get whatever you can find and look for any kind of file on who is behind this, besides Umbrella.” Barry pulled out his .357 and walked off without looking back. Chris and Enrico looked at each other, then Chris pulled out his gun and walked off. Enrico sighed and walked in another direction. He got to a hall and heard a noise coming from one of the bedrooms. He slowly walked past each one listening until he came upon the one where the noises were coming from. He slowly opened the door pointing his gun inside. When he opened it all the way, no one was in the room, but in the bathroom. He looked down at the floor and saw a couple umbrella clothes. He quietly went to the bathroom being extra careful. When he opened it, he seen 2 shadows in the shower, one of a female, and one of a male. He went to the curtain and pulled it back pointing his gun at the people. They both screamed, as Enrico looked at them. He walked out and came back in with some clothes. He threw them at the couple, “Put your clothes on now then come out here.” There was no other windows in the bathroom, so the people obeyed. When they came out, the guy got ready to ask Enrico a question.
“Who are…..”a
“Shut up, you guys got some questions to answer. I already know you’re Umbrella workers, but I want your names.”
The man finished putting on his over shirt, “I don’t even know who you are, I won’t give my name until you give me your name.”
Enrico grabbed the guy’s shirt and threw him against the wall, then the woman tried to hit Enrico, but he grabbed her fist and shoved her against the wall next to her boyfriend. “Now, I’m going to ask you again, who are you people.”
“And again, I’m not telling you our names until you tell us your name.”
“One more stupid remark and I will hit you.”
“Hit me all you want ass hole, I won’t tell you my name.”
Enrico pulled out his gun and pointed it at the woman, “You want to save you boyfriend, start talking.” Her eyes widened and she started breathing heavy now. The couple was fairly young, but really stupid. “Okay, I’ll tell you guys my name first, I’m Enrico Marini, I work with the Raccoon City S.T.A.R.S, I got 2 more of us waiting outside.”
The man calmed down, “NOW I will tell you our names, I’m Jeff, and this is my girlfriend Rebecca.” When he finished, the door swung open, and zombies came in the room and grabbed Jeff, Rebecca managed to get to Enrico fast enough, but Jeff was dragged out of the room and was being eaten out in the hall. He was yelling loudly and Rebecca tried to go after him, but Enrico grabbed her around the waist and pulled her back. But how could the zombies not see them? Maybe they were just lucky. Rebecca was crying his name as Enrico sat her on the bed and sat down next to her. “I can’t believe they got Jeff, Jeff and I only dated for 3 weeks.”
Enrico was comforting her, “Don’t worry, it’s part of this incident, some people go and some live, if you stay with me and my crew, you’ll live to find yourself a new boyfriend. We just got to wait here for a little, so the zombies can go away.” She looked up at him and managed to get a smile on her face, Enrico thought that Rebecca was fairly pretty. A 5 ft 9 with dark blonde hair.
“Yeah that is probably a good idea, tell me about yourself.”
“Well you already know my name and where I work, I had a lot of friends in the S.T.A.R.S and I was leader of the Bravo team. The other 2 of us are Chris Redfield, and Barry Burton. There was a member in the Bravo team with your name. She was only 18 years old.” When Enrico finished, they heard some footsteps in the hall then they stopped at the door. Enrico pointed his gun at the door and heard the person say something.
“DAMN!” It was Chris, Enrico lowered his gun.
“Chris. In here.”
The door opened and Chris walked in. Chris was looking back at the body while walking towards Enrico, “Hey Enrico, you know who that was out there?” Chris looked at Enrico and saw the girl next to him, she was still sobbing. “Ohh.” Chris lowered his head. “Who is she Enrico?”
“This is Rebecca, I barely know her. And yes that was her boyfriend out there. You see Barry?”
“No, but damit Enrico, why do you always meet up with the pretty women?” Chris said that to make her cheer up.
She laughed a little and wiped the tears off her face. “He must be the comedian.”
“Sometimes, but Joseph Frost, who was a S.T.A.R.S member, was funnier than him.”
The door swung open once again, but this time it was Barry, “Wow, this place must be small.” Enrico got up and walked over to Barry, “Looks like you finally got yourself a girl Rico.” Barry was lightly elbowing Enrico in the side.
“Let’s get back to the others before they think we’re dead.” Enrico walked over to Rebecca and stuck out his hand. She grabbed it and Enrico helped her up.
“How many of you guys are there?”
“Uh, about ten more. We’re all highly trained marksman.” They walked out of the building but before they got outside, McAllen and Thomas stepped in front of them pointing their guns at them.
“Oh, it’s just you guys. You hear a couple gunshots just a few minutes ago?”
Chris stared at him for a moment thinking McAllen and Thomas could be the ones that shot Weber, and almost shot them. “Yeah we did, were where you guys when they went off?”
McAllen turned around and started walking; they didn’t say anything until they got back to the group. When Enrico walked around a corner, a Winchester shotgun was an inch from his face. Then it lowered, “What took you guys so long?” Ryman lowered the shotgun and signaled for the others to come. “Who is she?”
“Rebecca, I met her in a house. Her boyfriend is dead, so I’m going to take care of her.”
Ryman took another look at Rebecca and then looked around; McAllen was a few feet behind them whispering to each other. Weber was still moaning in pain as Billy set him down against the building. As Billy stood up, they heard some scratching noises coming from all around them, it sounded like metal on metal, really high pitched and annoying. Then something slowly walked around a building on the building’s wall. Barry raised his .357 and blew the head completely in half. More just started to appear, Enrico grabbed Rebecca and started running in the opposite direction away from the lickers. Ryman grabbed Claire and ran with Enrico, everyone else was backing up while shooting.
“There’s too many of them, run!” Chris was moving everyone in the direction where Ryman, Claire, Enrico, and Rebecca where running. They wouldn’t be able to outrun them for very long, so they needed to hurry and find a really good reinforced building. Enrico kicked open a door and had everyone run inside before closing it. The lickers started banging on the door, and every time they hit it, it left a dent. The door would last only up to 10 minutes. Chris was looking around to find a way out, he pointed to a grating nearby, “Guys, there.”
Barry grabbed it with his left hand and ripped the grating off with one pull. He grabbed Jill and shoved her into the grating, it was barely big enough for Jill to fit through, but it was enough. Next went Rebecca, Claire, Esther, Enrico, Billy, Jericho, Chris, McAllen, Thomas, Ryman, then Weber. “Come on Barry.”
Barry tried to fit in, but he was too muscular. “Chris I can’t, I’m too big built, just take the others and get them out of here. Forget about me for good this time, there is no way I’ll make it.”
“But….”
“JUST GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
Barry’s high voice made Chris jump, but also made him obey. They all took off, and a couple seconds later there was a gunshot and actually heard something splatter besides a licker. Everyone stopped and looked back. This time they knew Barry was dead; the lickers were still working on the door. They continued to walk slowly somewhere, they didn’t know where, except for McAllen and Thomas. They were stationed in the area, they knew that Chris and the others were heading into danger, but didn’t care. They were going to abandon them in a little while again.
Thomas was a few feet behind McAllen, he dropped one of his clips, and when he stood back up from grabbing it, he didn’t see McAllen. He started to walk slowly with his gun pointing it down every alley he came upon. But before he pointed it down the last alley, someone grabbed him and pulled him in the alley. It was McAllen. “Let’s go. WE got to stick to our schedule. I found a building over here that we can lead the others to. It’s full of zombies. But we need them to come this way let’s just get to the rooftops.” McAllen jumped onto the fire escape ladder and climbed the ladder fast, McAllen was the fastest guy on ladders that Thomas had ever seen in the U.B.C.S.
FOUR
When McAllen and Thomas got to the roof, they went to the edge and pulled out their sniper rifles. Thomas was first to get his set up, he looked down the road and saw the others just sitting there cleaning the guns. Thomas was watching Chris finish clean his rifle, and Chris looked into the scope up right at Thomas, Thomas’s eyes widened and he loaded a bullet into the chamber. Chris watched him load a bullet, and just as Thomas was about to fire, Chris got the first shot and hit Thomas right in his right shoulder and sent him flying back a couple feet. Chris and the others took off running some direction together this time. McAllen looked down at Thomas who was holding his shoulder cursing under each breath. He helped Thomas up but the roof door swung open and zombies just poured out. McAllen grabbed Thomas’s gun and looked at Thomas, “No, please. Don’t do it McAllen. Is it really worth a good friendship? WE were going to kill them together.”
“You’re right; we were going to kill them together. But you’ll save me some valuable time.” McAllen threw him into the crowd of zombies. As McAllen climbed down the ladder, he heard Thomas yell loud enough that it caused the zombie down the alley to look in their direction. He could hear the flesh being ripped off the bones, but it saved him a lot of time. McAllen jumped down the last ten feet. He ran away from the zombie into a house. He heard Chris, Enrico, and Billy running up the street after him. But they ended up not knowing that he ran right into a house. Then a pretty German woman walked into the room with McAllen. She was holding an axe.
“Who are you?” McAllen asked the girl, she was just as old as him.
“My name is….”
“Ah forget it, I’m just going to get to know you better. He smiled and grabbed her arm and drug her into the bedroom.
“Damit, where did they go? I shot Thomas.” Chris stopped running. Billy heard some girls crying, she was about in her mid 20’s. Billy signaled for Chris and Enrico to come with him. Billy kicked open a house door, and heard the crying get louder. They couldn’t have been more than twenty feet from the cries. Chris motioned for the bedroom door, Enrico and ran and plowed through the door. There was a woman tied up to the bed. She’d been raped. Chris and the three others ran and untied each limb. But before they got her out of the room, the door slammed shut and several guys came from the bathroom pointing guns at them. One of the men was McAllen.
“Nice shooting Chris, you shot Thomas in his right shoulder.” There was four other soldiers, besides McAllen. “I was going to help him, but I needed time to get away. I think you heard him screaming.” He let out a little evil laugh with a creepy smile.
Chris, Billy, Enrico looked at each other and nodded. They hit the soldiers guns and leg swept them. McAllen took off running before they were able to get to him. The others came running in the house, except for Weber. He was still outside. The soldiers were knocked out at the moment. “Where’s Weber?”
“Ah crap!” Jericho went running outside to grab Weber. When he came back in, he had a weird look on his face.
“What?” Leon looked like a ghost had just went through him.
“C…..C…..Cole, outside.”
“You sure?”
Jericho didn’t answer, but when he looked at the floor, something hit the door and knocked Jericho to the ground. The German lady started to freak out, “Lady is there another way out of here?” Esther asked.
She continued to scream, but didn’t answer the question. Jill walked over to the woman and slapped her across the face. She instantly calmed down. “Now listen, this door won’t take another hit, tell us if there is another way to get out.”
She was breathing heavily. “There is, but I don’t know what’s down there. I have never been down there in years.” The lady spoke in German.
Everyone looked at each other then Chris replied in German. “We’ll protect you, that’s why we all are here. You just stay behind us, the man that raped you, did he go down there?”
“Yes. It leads us to a park a few miles away.”
“Okay thank you. Just stay with us and don’t run off and we’ll protect you as long as we can.”
When they got done talking, Ryman opened the floor door to the basement. It was too dark to see down there, but they had flashlights attached to their guns. Jericho and Ryman were pointing their guns down the hall as everyone jumped down in. After they all got in, Chris started to talk. “Guys lets split up, this place is pretty dam big after the German one told us. So Esther, Jericho and me, then Billy, Weber, Ryman, and the German lady, next, Jill, Leon, and Claire, after that, Enrico and Rebecca. Try to find McAllen, and find what happened to Thomas, if he is still alive. Whatever you guys do, don’t wait for the other groups, just get out of here, unless they are really close to your position, forget them, we can’t risk any lives, there are other ways out.” Jericho, Esther, and Chris whipped out their guns and walked into the darkness. They went down the hall to their left and saw a straight hallway for about 100 yards. They looked at the end of it, and the lights started to flicker down there. It wasn’t like that when they first looked down the hall, so they ran as fast as they could down the hall. At about 50 yards, Chris was tackled by something. “Jericho. Help me.”
Jericho turned around almost falling on the concrete floor. He ran and kicked the zombie in the head. It flew up against the wall, and it raised its arms and started to come after them. A bullet went whizzing past their heads and the zombie dropped. All 3 of them turned and looked down the hall; there was no one down there. But who shot the zombie and saved them? They continued to run down the hall towards the flickering light. When they got there, they stopped in the middle of the hall, but saw no one but a dark figure several yards down the hall. It was too far to see if they were bit, but if they were, there had to be someone else alive near them. “You guys stay here and search these rooms. I’m going to see if that man is okay.” Chris walked down the hall near the man. “Hey man you okay?”
Jericho and Esther were searching the room when they heard a gunshot. They went running out of the room and down to Chris. When they got there, they saw Chris looking down at the zombie who had a bullet hole in the head. Esther’s eyes widened and she pointed to Chris’s hand.
“Chris?”
“Get away from me.” Chris sighed in some sort of evil voice.
“But……”
“I SAID GET AWAY FROM ME NOW!” There was blood dripping from his hand. Chris had been bit.
“Chris, we can save you.” Jericho patted Chris on the shoulder.
“No you can’t.” Chris punched Jericho and ran off.
“CHRIS!” Esther screamed while crying. She tried to run after him, but Jericho grabbed her around the waist and puller her back.
Enrico and Rebecca weren’t very far when the gunshot went off. They both jumped and looked at each other. “God help whoever that was.” Enrico sighed. Rebecca was looking into a door when she grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him in behind her. Enrico turned on the lights as soon as she let him go. It was just a regular medical room. Rebecca turned around and looked at Enrico.
“Hey Enrico, I just want to thank you for taking care of me now that my boyfriend is dead. You are a lot nicer than him, and he was really nice.”
“You’re welcome, I’d be honored if you would stay with me AFTER we make it out of here. You have no where else to stay, and I need someone to stay with me, my place is kinda lonely with no one else there with me. So what do you say?”
“OF course.” She ran up and hugged Enrico. They just about kissed before Chris barged through the door.
“Chris?”
He shoved Enrico out of the way and went to the medical supplies. “You guys leave now.”
“Why? What’s wrong Chris?”
He turned and pointed his gun at them with his bloody hand. “I said get out now! FUCK! Doesn’t anybody listen to me?”
Enrico and Rebecca left the room and walked off, “He must have been the one who fired the shot. But he had to of been bitten, he’s looking for the Anti-Virus, we could make some down here probably but………”
A tall man with a scar across his face stepped out in front of them. “You can still help him, I have the anti-virus. But he’s got about 30 minutes before he turns into one of them. But it’s going to come at a price.”
“Name it.”
“You have to see which one of your team is a traitor. I know who, but you have to find out and kill them. Clocks ticking.”
“Well when we kill him/her, where will we find you?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll know. You got 29 minutes now.”
Enrico and Rebecca ran off talking, “Who do you think it is?” Rebecca asked
“I don’t know, but I have already narrowed it down to a couple people, and you’re going to hate who is on the list.”
“Who all is on it?”
“Well first, Chris maybe, because he had a lot of anger when he was bitten. Then, the German woman, because she led us down here, which is full of danger, lastly, I hate to say it, but a very little chance, you.”
“I got to admit, I’m a little surprised. Because I may have worked with Umbrella, but that part doesn’t surprise me, the part that does is, I know you love me and I do love you. That surprises me, you convicted me of that. But I suppose anyone who works with Umbrella is a suspect.”
Enrico cocked an eyebrow and then stopped. He pointed down the hall and saw Billy, Weber, Ryman, and the German lady. “Billy, down here.” Enrico waved.
Billy stopped and looked down the hall at him almost ready to shoot. “Oh thank god it’s just you guys. I think the flesh eating mother fuckers are down here. I heard a gunshot just a few minutes ago.”
“Everyone did. We ran into someone, he said………” Enrico looked down the hall where Billy came from. “They’re here move!” Enrico started to move them all in the other direction, but when he grabbed the German lady, he looked at the crowd of ugly ass bastards, and thought about something. He started to drag her towards the zombies.
“Enrico what the hell are you doing?”
“She’s the traitor, she has to die. Just go!” She was struggling as much as possible to get free, but wasn’t even close. He got ten feet from them before he grabbed her shirt and threw her into the crowd. She tried to run back to him, but the got a hold of her legs and tripped her. She tried top crab walk, but a couple of them piled on top of her and just started to eat away. She was screaming loud enough, that Enrico almost felt sorry for doing that. But he had to in order to get the Anti-Virus. He hurried to catch up with the others, but when he turned the corner, e almost fell because he ran into a big guy. It was the same one he made the deal with.
“Good work. She was the traitor.”
“Where’s the anti-virus?”
“We made a deal and you kept your share.” He took his right hand out of his pocket and handed him the Anti-Virus. “I can give you a bit of info right now. Your friend Chris is still in the medical bay sitting down, you got 10 minutes left. I know, your time has been cut by 15 minutes, but he is going to shoot himself if you don’t give that to him. There is an armory down here, but you guys already have guns, but you could use more ammo.”
“Thanks, let me ask you too questions.”
“You must hurry to get to your friend, I can’t answer your questions.”
Enrico pointed his gun at the man. The guy smiled. “You’re pretty quick at drawing your gun. Go ahead and ask.”
“First, how do you know so much about us?”
“Hmhmhmhmhm, I helped you guys before.”
“Second, Who are you exactly?”
“If you want to know, you have to do something else for me.”
“Name it.”
“Destroy the Umbrella plant.”
“That sounds easy enough. But we don’t know where it is.”
“That’s why you have to….well, I’m not going to tell you. If you want my name you have to find out on your own. I will tell you this, only they can lead you.” He started to fade out.
“What the hell?!”
He ran up to the medical bay and found Chris pointing the gun at his head.
“CHRIS!”
The gun literally fell out of his hand when he heard Enrico’s voice. “Enrico, what the hell are you doing here?! I told you guys to get out!”
“I got the anti virus for your bite. You’re cured!”
Chris jumped up and ran to him nearly knocking him over. After he injected Chris with the Anti-Virus, they left the room looking for any of the other survivors. Nothing was said, but they both talked with their eyes. Their expressions could easily be known what they were asking and could easily get the answers.
Leon kicked open the door to the steam room, and Jill and Claire ran in pointing their guns making sure nothing was in there. When Leon walked in, he looked at the mp and handed it to Claire. “Take this and look around this steam room, it’s pretty big, so I’ll stay back and try to find anything that will help us get out of here safer.” Claire nodded and they both ran off. Leon waited until they got out of site before moving, but when he took a couple steps, he had the feeling that he was being watched. He pulled out his flashlight and his gun looking around the area trying to see if he could find who is watching him. And by the feeling he got, it was probably someone he knew. He continued to walk around slowly with his gun ready to shoot. When he stopped, he turned around and saw someone big and bulky standing there with their arms crossed.
“Been a while comrade.”
Leon couldn’t believe who it was, Krauser has lived. But how? “Krauser? I thought you were dead. I blew you up years ago.”
Krauser started walking around him twirling his knife on his index finger. “Yeah, but it wasn’t good enough to kill me. You’ve got some skill on you, you were able to beat me and Saddler.” He took a swing at his with his knife, it lightly cut Leon’s arm. Krauser had a couple grenades attached to his web belt, and he is still wearing the same pair of camo pants that he wore before. His shirt was gone again. “Hehehe, don’t worry this time, I didn’t kidnap Ashley again, I just got one question. Why did you pass up the chance to get her in bed? You should of said yes; well at least I would of.”
Leon tried to stab him with his knife, but he miserably missed. “Why are you bringing her up again? That’s the past, this is present. Get with it.”
“Do you actually think you can beat me again? Go ahead and stab me. Hell stab me twice. Actually try to hit me this time. Since we both were in the same platoon in the Marines, you should know where to stab me. That’s if you can stab me.”
Leon made a lunge at him, but Krauser hit him in the back of the head and knocked him to the ground. He got on top of Leon and was tying to push the knife into his chest. But Leon was putting up a good fight, the knife was shaking but not moving. “Don’t get your hopes up, the bitch in the red dress won’t help you.”
Leon’s eyes widened and he let his grip down a little, but was too much and the knife went right into his chest.
“Ahhhhh!” Leon let out a loud scream and The main door flung open and Krauser looked. It was Chris and Enrico.
They both started to open fire, but Krauser jumped into the air and disappeared. Some blood came from where he jumped, then something stuck into the ground. Chris ran over to Leon and Enrico grabbed what was sticking out of the ground. It was Krauser’s knife.
“Leon, what happened?”
He spit up some blood and managed to talk. “That was Jack Krauser, he should have been dead. This must what be Umbrella’s revenge. Don’t worry about me, I won’t live much longer.” He stuck out his hand and Chris grabbed it. “To serve and protect.”
Chris looked into his eyes. “Expect the Unexpected.”
Then Leon’s head turned over and he stopped breathing. “Expect nothing.”
Both Chris and Enrico quickly turned around pointing their guns. It was Albert Wesker, Ozmund Saddler, Ramon Salazar and his minions, Tyrant, Nemesis, Marsacs, Krauser, and The Big Cheese. “I think it’s thoughtful of you Chris for caring about someone besides another S.T.A.R.S member. But try to find someone outside of the R.P.D, okay? Don’t do anything stupid Redfield and Marini, at my command, I could tell these guys to either instantly, or slowly kill you. But, if you’re willing to come with me and Krauser, I won’t have these guys kill you. I have already got the others to agree coming with me. I’m really hoping that you two will come with me.”
“Leon was right, this must be Umbrella’s revenge.”
“Damn right. Now what’s your choice?” They both dropped their guns and kicked them over to Wesker. “Good choice.”
“The only reason I’m coming is to make sure you don’t harm, Esther, Claire, Jill, and Rebecca.”
“Don’t worry, as long as you obey me, I won’t hurt them. I’ve got to admit, you and Enrico are the only S.T.A.R.S members left, you guys are better than I thought.”
Chris and Enrico walked over to them and both Krauser and Wesker hit them in the back of the head and knocked them out. When they came to, Chris looked around and saw only himself in a cell.
“Oh good Chris, you’re awake.” It was Billy’s voice. Chris looked around them room and found the rest of them in separate cells. “I didn’t want to get arrested again, I tried to fight my way out, but some ass hole tranquilized me. I think I got the short shit though.”
“Hey Chris, where’s Leon?” Jill swallowed as she was shaking while asking the question.
Chris looked at Enrico and they both exchanged expressions. Then he looked anywhere but at Jill. He couldn’t make eye contact with her.
“I’m sorry Jill. Enrico and I really tried to hurry. Only if we were a couple seconds faster, we could have saved him.” He whispered.
She didn’t say anything, but just broke out crying. Some Umbrella tech wandered in with some food carts. He stopped in front of Jill’s cell. “Quit your fucking crying now bitch. I’ve got some food for you ass holes.” He slipped some trays right there at the cell doors. When he got to Jericho’s, he set it a few feet away from his cell door. “What’s wrong, you can’t give me my food, or you just plain stupid?”
The man looked at him for a moment they went to the food tray and before he slipped it closer, Jericho grabbed his head and slammed it against the bars. His head was bleeding by the time he hit the floor. Just a few minutes late, some other guy comes in, “What the hell?”
Jericho looked at him smiling. “You know, you should really put a wet floor sign in here.”
Just then an alarm went off and a couple guards came busting through the door with their guns. The room was sound proof, because, when the door opened, there was shouting and shooting going on. All of the guards went running out and everyone looked at each other and some other guy came running in the room with a bit mark on his arm. He tossed Ryman a key who was closet to him, then went running back out. Kevin picked up the key and unlocked his cell door with it. Afterwards, he unlocked everybody else’s.
They had no guns, so they had to do some hand to hand combat until they got some, the Umbrella ass holes stole their guns. Billy kicked open the door and made a couple zombies stumble backwards. They could still here shooting going on other places in the building, but the hallway they were in was completely lifeless. But the bodies still had the guns on them. So all they had to was just take out the zombies in the hallway and get the guns. Chris, Enrico, Billy, and Jericho easily made quick work of the zombies. They came back in with some guns, but not enough for everyone. Billy tossed his to Jill, and pulled out his Marine Corp. issued, K-A Bar knife. He was looking around the room in the reflection and saw someone move in the back of the room. Jericho ran over to where Billy pointed and dragged the guy out. It was an Umbrella Mercenary. “Who are you?”
The man got up. “Jill?”
“Carlos?”
“You two know each other?” Jericho asked lowering his automatic rifle.
“Yeah actually we do. We were both survivors of the Raccoon incident before the place was nuked.”
“Well, one more of us. Let’s get a move on.”
Jericho walked out of the door and everyone followed just listening to the gunshots go off. “Carlos, how do we get out of here? Take us to the car garage. Or get us a fucking helo.”
Carlos jogged off and Jill went running after him, no one bothered to stop here, because they spent an entire zombie invasion together and lived. Ryman opened his chest pouch on his R.P.D uniform and pulled out a liquor bottle. It was a small canteen, but he took a small sip and tried to hand it to Claire, but she refused, so instead, Billy grabbed it and chugged the rest of it. “Wait, Ryman, you have anymore?” Claire started to search her pockets for something.
“Yeah why?” He pulled out another small bottle. This was just a regular water bottle filled with some liquor.
Claire didn’t answer until she pulled out the lighter Chris had given her. “Here Billy.”
Billy took it and started to smile, he always wanted a flame thrower.
Chris and Enrico came back around the corner. “Guys, we found the armory, we just need the card key.”
Everyone looked at them, then back at the spot where they last saw them. Nobody had noticed they left. Chris and Enrico turned around again and walked off. Just a couple seconds later, the lights shut off and everything was completely black. The firing had stopped for a couple seconds, then down the hall to their right, they saw some flashlights come on and start moving towards them, But Chris and Enrico had gone down the hall to their left. Hopefully they’ll be okay.
Carlos hopped in the chopper and turned around to help Jill in. Carlos started to warm up the chopper while Jill looked around in back for any kind of radio or gun. “What are you doing?”
“Trying to find a radio or something, we have to go back and get the others.”
“We can’t.”
“Why not?”
“That’s why.” Carlos pointed out the front window toward a crowd of zombies. “I have an idea though.” Jill climbed into the cockpit with Carlos and knelt down beside him. “Any of them have a cell phone on them?”
“Yeah, but how is that going to help?”
“Go into that computer room with the windows still intact, and there is a cell phone in there. It’s mine, text them letting them know there are more helos here and that we’re leaving. We’ll meet up with them later. I’ll cover you while you do it.”
She nodded and grabbed Carlos’s secondary weapon attached to his camo pants. Carlos hopped on top of the helo with his assault rifle and started firing. Jill ran up the stairs into the room and started to look for the cell. Some of the zombies started to climb on the helo, but Carlos just kicked them in the head to knock them off. Jill finally found the phone. But when she stood back up, a zombie was only inches from her. She let out a small scream, and Carlos put a bullet in its head. She looked over at him and waved, then put a desk against the door to barricade herself in. She sat down against the far wall and started to text. Jericho, Carlos and I have safely got the helo ready, Carlos and I have to leave. We can’t wait for you, we’re under attack. There are a couple helos left. I’m Sorry. Carlos stopped shooting and Jill looked out the window to see if he was okay. Luckily he was, but the zombies weren’t. He had killed them all. She broke out the window and jumped out, when she hit the ground, she tucked the cell phone back into her pocket. Carlos was waiting for her in the pilot’s seat. As soon as she sat down, he opened the ceiling and took off.
“Hey guys, I just got a text from Jill. She and Carlos are safe, but they had to leave, because they were under attack. There are a couple more helos in the bay ready for us. So let’s move out and get to them. Chris and Enrico can meet up with us later.”
Ryman stormed past Jericho knocking him aside while pointing down the hall. “What’s that?” There was flashing coming from down the hall about thirty yards. Whatever it was, it was coming towards them, and fast too. It was some sort of laser, but how did it get turned on and where did it start? He ran behind Jericho and grabbed Claire and started to kick Billy and Jericho in the ass to get them going. A second after they turned the corner towards the helo pad, the lights shut off and they all could hear doors being opened. What they need now was to run into one of Wesker’s little friends. (Not Salazar) They ran down the hall until they came upon a locked door. It was pitch black when they got farther down the hall, and whatever was coming in on them, was only around the corner.
“Billy, Ryman, cover Claire and I until we get this door open.” Billy aimed his M-16 he stole from one of the guards and aimed it down the hall. He remembered his flashlight in his back pocket and attached it to the bottom of his assault rifle. When he aimed his rifle down the hall again, the flashlight revealed a couple zombies and hunters.
“Ahh shit.” Billy sighed and nodded. He was hoping Claire and Jericho would open the door before they used up most of their ammo. “How much longer Jericho?”
“Just a minute.”
Before he finished what he was saying Billy and Ryman were already shooting. “Hurry up. We’re running out of ammo!”
Just then, the door flung open and both Jericho and Claire took a step back. They were startled, but it was a man who opened it. He wasn’t infected or anything. “I’m John, John Andrews. Hurry up and get in.” He pulled Jericho and Claire in by the shirts. While Billy and Ryman were backing up and firing, Billy looked down the hall in the other direction and saw 2 figures running towards them.
“Billy!” It was Chris and Enrico. He was relieved to see them, and Chris and Enrico ran faster to get in the door. There wasn’t room for them to run behind Billy and Ryman, so they just ran through them taking them in the room while they got plowed through.
Claire was talking to John while Jericho told Chris and Enrico where Jill and Carlos went. “How did you get here John? No one ever told you where we were.”
“Ahh,” He said lifting his index finger on his left hand. “That’s were you’re wrong. Let’s just say after Trent and I ran into each other, I would have kicked his evasive ass out my front door if he didn’t talk. Now let’s get to the helo pad.” John turned around and took a couple steps before stopping. “Coming?” He turned around and gave Claire a wink and continued walking. John led the way towards the helo pad, but when they got through the door at the end of the 10*10 room, all the doors locked instantly. Enrico tried to open the next door, but he jerked his hand back fast and let out a small yell. “Ah, it shocked me.” He was shaking his hand and looked at the door. There was no keyhole or card key slot. “IT must be electronically locked. We can’t get through until it gets unlocked. Someone must have seen us when we came through the door. Jill, you and Claire look for and cameras. The rest of us will try to find a way to open this dam door. The walls are made of concrete, so we can’t bust through it.”
“Can’t find a way out? I can unlock the doors for you, but you must do something for me.”
Everyone started looking around, but Chris pointed to his eyes then at a small object in the corner of the room on the ground by the door they came though. “Who are you, and where are you at?” Chris demanded.
“I’m called the Black King. You don’t have much time to open the doors. I triggered a defense mechanism. Now if you want to get out, I’ll open a secret door.” A hole in the wall opened up, but no one walked in…..yet. “You can get out of the room your in, but if you decide to take the “Detour”, you must complete 5 stages.” Everyone just looked at each other and Jericho was first to walk in.
Wesker sat down at a table across from Krauser. “You think they’ll get through the stages? There’s 5 and in each one, there is a B.O.W. The first one has Salazar's minions in it. Second has Tyrant, third has Nemesis, fourth has Marsacs and The Big Cheese, and finally the fifth has Saddler and their friend.”
“Krauser, there is no way they can make it, they might make it past the first 3, but not the fourth or fifth. Their friend Weber is still alive, but he will just slow them down. Rebecca is still with them. We promised her money and her life if she would lead them into danger, but I guess she said no. Ever since she found Enrico, she has been all over him. I’m shocked that she is still alive.” The door to the control room opened up and McAllen walked in with his SA80 pointing around the room. As soon as he spotted Wesker and Krauser, he lowered the rifle. “Just you guys, they are going into the stages now. Thomas is dead, now can I have my money please?”
Wesker got up from the table and walked to the cabinet. A second after he opened it, he pulled out a briefcase. “A deal is a deal.” He handed it to him with some evil little grin on his face. McAllen took it from him slowly while watching him, Wesker’s little grin would scare anyone, but McAllen never talked to him very much. As soon as he had a hold of it, he quickly walked out the door and closed it behind him. Wesker handing someone a briefcase full of money, that don’t sound like Wesker. McAllen walked down the hall into one of the Umbrella employee break rooms and set the briefcase on the table. He was ready to open it, but he heard some noise from outside the door he came in. It sounded like nails tapping against the ground. He then looked at the bottom of the door and saw doggie doors. He looked like he was about to cry, “Ah shit.” Then a dog came through the little doggie door. It was a Doberman, or at least used to be. Its tongue has been ripped out of its mouth, and the throat has been completely removed. When it stopped and looked at him, it growled and blood would come from where its throat used to be. The dog tackled him against the counter and started to chew on his arm. McAllen tried to punch the dog of, but every time he hit it, the dog would out on an even tighter grip. He struggled for his SA80 and managed to grab a hold of it. He put the barrel against the dog’s head and fired. Pieces of its head flew across the room, but the body flew and hit the wall. He let out a little sigh of relief, but didn’t finish sighing before three more of them walked in through the doggy door. He aimed and tried to fire but nothing happened. CLICKCLICKCLICK. He quickly looked at it then tried to fire the grenade launcher, but the dogs had tackled him before he was able to aim. He fired it, but the grenade hit the ceiling and it collapsed on top of him and the dogs. A couple pieces of small cement tumbled down the pile onto the ground. The whole room was filled with cement dust.
“Five phases?” John asked to himself. “Wonder what the hell they are now. We’ll find out soon enough.” John sighed and took off his smiling face.
Enrico shot a look over at Rebecca, she knew it was telling her to get behind him.
Leon opened his eyes wider than they have ever been in his life, there were some nitrogen tanks against the walls. “Uh…..uh…..uh….guys?”
Everyone looked over at him and saw his hand shaking while pointing to the nitrogen tanks.
Now Weber was starting to have a hard time breathing. “Billy……put me down…… against the door……. I need to rest for a minute.” Billy dragged him over to the door and he just collapsed before Billy even set him down. He stood there looking at him while he was taking his deep breaths. “WHOA!” Billy yelped as he back flipped away from the door. He looked up and saw something, no make it two things run up the wall to the ceiling on four legs and stop. One of them extended their tail out and grabbed Weber around the waist. “What the hell are they Leon?”
Everyone unloaded into them except for Leon. “Hold your fire. Shooting them like that won’t hurt them. Get them close to the liquid nitrogen tanks then shoot the tanks and THEN can you unload on them.” As Leon finished what he was saying Weber came crashing to the ground. Weber was laying still face down. The both of the monsters had several green eyes, were very black, and to top it off, they had razor body. One of them jumped down next to a nitrogen tank. Before its 8 foot frame took another step, Leon had already shot the tank and sent liquid nitrogen flying all over its body. It stood still in a position that looked like it was waving at them. Jericho whipped out his shotgun and blew the tail off it, once it hit the ground, it instantly thawed. Luckily the tail didn’t have any razors on it except for the tip. Everyone just started to unload their ammo on it, and Chris slid under the line of fire and grabbed the tail and slid back to them. When the creature thawed completely, it just fell to the ground squirming. “Shit, we won’t be able to take down the other one like this, we only have,” Ryman went through the bag and counted how many mags they had left. “9 mags left. That’s enough for each of us to have another.”
Esther had remembered about her spare shells in her back pocket. “I have more shotgun shells, but lets kill this thing first” The second one jumped down only a couple inches from Chris’s face. Chris looked down at the ground and widened his eyes like he saw something. The creature looked down as Chris expected he would. He got a tight grip on the tail of the creature’s falling comrade and swung it as hard as he could at the head of it. The second one fell down right next to its buddy, only it didn’t have a head. A second later, the head landed between the two creatures.
John walked over to the one that still had a head and pulled out his gun. “This one looks like my mother in law.” He got a little laugh out of everyone and pulled the trigger. “Phase one, complete.” The black King’s voice came over the intercom again.
Jericho looked around and saw a small one way window on the south wall. Jericho just pulled out his magnum and blew a whole right through it and was rewarded with a high pitched scream of a man. At that point, Wesker stepped in front of the hole. “Nice shot Jericho. That was only phase one of five. I’m not gonna lie to you guys, I’m the Black King.”
FIVE
Wesker turned around and watched some of the commandos drag their fellow soldier out of the room to a place Wesker didn’t even care for. Then he cocked his head over towards Krauser who was leaning back in his chair and had his legs on the table. Wesker cocked an eyebrow, because he never seen Krauser take off his black T-Shirt and then put his feet on the table that quietly. “Well, they’re through phase one.”
Both Wesker and Krauser heard an explosion then a big crashing sound from the employee break room. “McAllen.” Wesker chuckled. “Let’s go to the next phase window and watch them against the Tyrant.” Wesker grabbed his assault rifle and headed for the door. On his way to the door, he slapped Krauser’s feet off the table. “Didn’t your mother ever teach you, no feet on the table?”
Krauser grinned and got up following Wesker. “I suppose no one died in the last stage.”
Wesker stopped and turned toward him. “You’re wrong, Their friend Weber is now dead.” Then he continued on.
Jill was in the back of the helo loading up on ammo while Carlos was flying the C89 chopper. After she got done, she counted how many handgun clips and shotgun ammo left, they also had a grenade launcher and a sniper rifle. “Carlos, we have fifteen handgun mags, thirty shells, a grenade launcher with one grenade, and a sniper rifle with three ten round clips.” Jill was climbing into the cockpit as she finished talking. “You think they’ll make it out okay?”
Carlos looked at her with a worried look on his face, “I hope so. Why did you come with me? You didn’t know if I was going to die in an ambush or not.”
“My husband and my best friend had died in this viral outbreak. You’re the only one left that is my friend, except for Chris and Enrico. But you and I both survived the worst outbreak. I feel like you’re my good luck charm.”
Carlos turned his head back towards the window watching for….well he was just flying. He wasn’t looking for anything in particular. “I’m sorry about your husband.” Then a light started flashing on the control panel “Shit, we need to land soon. We have only about fifty more miles of fuel left.” About thirty minutes later, Carlos started to descend. Jill went in the back and grabbed the bags with the guns in it. After they landed, Carlos went into the back with Jill. “There is a city about two miles from here. There should be some beds, food, and maybe a radio so we can call for backup. Stay low and keep quiet.” Carlos grabbed his assault rifle and curled his fingers around the barrel. Jill grabbed the shotgun and slung it over her back, and stuffed two .45 automatics in her leg holsters. Carlos did the same with the last two .45s, he grabbed the sniper rifle and the grenade gun and slung them both over his back. He was carrying a lot more weight than Jill, considering he was carrying a sniper rifle, grenade gun, assault rifle, two .45 automatics and some ammo for them. They quietly but quickly got off the C89, Carlos put on his night vision goggles and looked around the forest area. It was only about midnights were they were, and were about 150 miles from where Chris and the others were. They ran through the forest and reached the end of it about 300 yards from where they landed. If Umbrella was in the area, they hadn’t noticed them land. Again Carlos put on his night vision goggles and looked around again. This time he saw some vehicles and a couple choppers circling around the outside of the small town. “Damn, Umbrella is here, and they must be keeping something really important protected. I count about twenty black SUVs with four guys in each. So that is eighty people in trucks, but there are two choppers in the air. They are MD500 little birds, they’re small, weak, but fast. If we can get inside the city, we can get rid of all of those guards easier. Each guard is armed with MP5Ks, they fire 9mm…..”
Jill cut him off before he finished. “Carlos, I know what Umbrella’s goons are armed with, I know what kind of ammo they fire. Does it look like we can get through?”
“Umm,” Carlos continued to look at the guards circling the city. “It don’t look like we can, each vehicle is evenly spaced apart, they don’t look like they will separate enough for us to get through for a while. But there is always a way to get through. We could have taken the C89 in, but there is no more fuel. I used that last of it while I was landing. We could snipe the driver in one and take on the whole army out there and probably get killed by the helos. I wouldn’t recommend that though. The city is about 100 yards away, they won’t be able to see us from there. We’re too well blended in with the trees. There is a gas station in the city somewhere, they will eventually have to get more fuel, and when they do, we run to the nearest building and break in.”
“What do we do until then?”
“Wait.”
They didn’t have to wait very long for something to happen. Within an hour, they heard a voice on the loud speaker start talking. “All commandos head to gas station for fuel now.”
Carlos grabbed Jill’s arm, who was half asleep, and yanked her. As she stumbled to get her balance, she noticed why Carlos had grabbed her. Carlos kicked open a door on the nearest building and Jill ran in before he took a step in. Carlos quietly closed the door behind him, as if that would do any good. Because if there was anyone in the house, they would have heard Carlos kick open the door. “That was close. But we’re in.”
Jill pulled out one of her automatics and clicked on the small flashlight attached to the bottom of the barrel. “Do you know what they are hiding here?”
“No, but I think I have a clue where it might be. It would be in the middle of the city, probable underground. But not too far underground. They even have guards patrolling the streets, so we go through the buildings all the way. Try not to kill any guards, we can’t mess up their patrolling, otherwise they’ll send everyone in on us. Stick to shadows that when we aren’t inside. You might want to grab a black shirt and change your shirt for it. Or put the black shirt on over it. Jill went upstairs and Carlos stayed at the top of the stairs making sure nobody came in the house. A moment later, Jill tapped Carlos on the shoulder, and he slipped off his feet and landed on his ass. He was in a crouch position when he was tapped on the shoulder. “Oh Jill, you scared the shit out of me.” Carlos looked up breathing heavily. Jill did manage to find a black shirt, but it was a little big on her. So she took his knife and cut off part of sleeves so it would fit her better. Carlos headed towards the window on the second floor and looked out to where HE could barely see what was out there. A second later, his eyes widened more than Jill has ever seen.
“What, what is it Carlos?” Jill had a worried look on her face.
Chris held up the creature’s tail with his left hand. “Man, this thing is pretty bad ass. I think I’ll keep it with me. Just until after we make it through the last four stages.”
Esther took a few steps forward and saw something. “Guys, there’s the next door. I think.” Esther pointed towards a door a couple hundred yards away to the northeast corner. Rebecca and Enrico were the first to head towards the door. Jericho got up from looking at Weber’s body, and Billy, Ryman, and John just started running with everyone else. Enrico stopped at the door and Rebecca read something on the door. “T-002?”
“That’s the Tyrant, stage two.” Chris said as he came running up to the others. For some reason, he didn’t sound very frightened. Enrico shrugged and opened the door, but Chris was first one through. After they all got through, everyone stopped and all had a confused look on their faces. It was just an open area, no buildings, no nothing except the Tyrant was waiting at the next door. Apparently he didn’t see them come through the door, because he didn’t even move an inch, or lift his head.
“Maybe he’s dead already.” John said.
“Nahh, otherwise he wouldn’t be in here. But don’t worry, he’s slower than John’s mom.” Chris got a laugh out of everyone, even John.
“My mother-in-law weighs a TON.”
“Does she really?” Billy asked with a cocked eyebrow.
“Meh.”
Chris whipped out the tail he took from one of Salazar's minions and took a step towards the Tyrant before it got up and started walking towards them. Enrico motioned for Rebecca to get behind him while he un-holstered his gun. “Who has the ammo? I’m almost out. I have one more mag left.”
Everyone checked their ammo and had about as many rounds as Enrico. But almost dropped their weapons when they heard a shot go off. They saw Claire carefully aiming her weapon at Tyrant’s eyes. But that didn’t seem to slow it down at all. It just kept coming at them with serious rage. Jericho whipped out his shotgun and took a shot at the big tumor on its neck. The Tyrant started stumbling backwards and Chris ran up to it with the tail and tried to swing at it, but it just wildly swung punches and actually hit Chris right in the ribs and sent him flying against a concrete wall. Parts of the wall came falling on him when he hit the ground but he didn’t feel it. Chris was struggling to stand up, but only fell when he tried. “Chris, stay down. We’ll be over to you after we kill this.” Esther shouted over the gunfire. Jericho was unloading rounds into the Tyrant’s body, but it didn’t do anything. It stopped stumbling around and started coming at them again. Billy ran behind it and pulled out his KA-Bar knife and started sneaking behind it murmuring something to himself.
“Yeah that’s right, keep your attention on them. Don’t look at the guy who is gonna stab your fucking tumor and neck until he gets tired.” He was slowly creeping up on Tyrant until he got only a few feet from him. The Tyrant had to be the stupidest creation of Umbrella, because it didn’t see Billy run behind it. Or just didn’t care. Billy jumped on it and put it in a sleeper hold to keep himself from falling. He started stabbing the knife repeatedly into its tumor then its neck. It grabbed Billy from the back of his shirt and tossed him over to his friends. Billy landed on top of John and they both went down. Tyrant fell to the ground this time and just squirmed around. Jericho walked over to it and put one more shotgun blast into its head. Then it stopped moving.
Billy looked down at John and found him staring right back. “So Billy, what you doin tonight?”
“Get away from me.” Billy had a disgusted look on his face, but also he was laughing at the same time. He was up and off of John in a heart beat. Everyone was watching the Tyrant lay there still. Esther and Enrico were first ones to run over to Chris. He managed to sit himself up against the wall before they got to him. Jericho knelt down beside him taking out some tape. “How bad?”
“What’s it matter. The tape can’t fix it. But I do have a couple broken ribs.”
Esther pulled his shirt off and revealed a very muscular body. Since his biceps were fairly big, there was no doubt that Chris had worked on his body too. Jericho started to wrap his body in tape. “This is going to hurt like a son of a bitch when it comes time to pull it off.”
Jericho cut off a small part and put it on Chris’s mouth. He looked at Jericho and found him smiling.
Everyone else was waiting at the next door for them, after Jericho got finished putting the tape around his body, Esther put his shirt back on him.
There was a camera in the corner by the door and John looked up at it. He had a big grin on his face again. He turned around, un did his belt and pants, bent over and pulled his pants down enough to show his ass to the camera. Everyone just broke out laughing. Even though it was hurting Chris more than anything to laugh, he couldn’t help it.
When he pulled his pants up, he turned around and raised both his hands extending both middle fingers. “YEAH! How you two like that?!”
One of the Umbrella guards screamed and both Krauser and Wesker looked over at him. “What happened?” Wesker asked while walking into the surveillance room.
“The muscular one mooned the camera.”
There was a moment of silence and Krauser and Wesker looked at each other. A second later, they both just laughed their asses off and walked out of the room. Krauser looked over at Wesker. “Crazy asses, what will they think of next?” A moment later, there was shooting coming from most of the guards a long way down the hall. Several more came running past them both with their guns towards the shooting. Randy, the man who was watching the cameras ran past them with some serious firepower. He had a shotgun, sub-machine gun, three grenades, an RPG for god knows what, and a 9mm handgun.
Randy ran down the hall past Wesker and Krauser, turned right about 150 yards down the hall and found some of his fellow soldiers behind a wall of sandbags shooting at a big horde of the undead moving in on their position. He raised his shotgun and aimed at the closet one’s head. When he fired, it took out two more of them. They zombies were moving in fast. He tried to turn around, but there was another barricade with some of the other guards shooting down that hall. He turned right and ran farther down the hall, he just kept running right until he came to a door. He had the master key to any door in the building. He opened it and saw another big crowd of the undead coming towards the door. He closed it and turned left this time and saw another crowd of them shuffling towards him. They were close enough to make out their features. One of them had half their head missing, another had half their arm gone, and one of them was missing both arms, their neck, and big chunks out of their legs.
Randy started to feel around his black vest and remembered his RPG. All of his fellow soldiers were already dead, or about to. His friend Matt had jumped over the barricade and run into the crowd firing his sub machine gun. Randy grabbed the RPG and aimed it at the middle of the crowd. “Bite this fuckers!” He pulled the trigger and watched the zombies get blown to shit. They were either dead, or crawling towards him. He just ran and hopped over them. He kissed his RPG when he went through the door, he could do that two more times, before he moved anywhere, he loaded another rocket in it.
Carlos turned toward Jill and got ready to say something. “I know what they’re hiding here.”
“What?”
“T-Virus. If we can get to it, we can finally shut down Umbrella. All we need is the sample. They just put it in a shed, so if we can get into it, we can grab it then leave.”
“If?”
“Come here and look out the window.” Carlos stepped aside So Jill could look out the window.
After she got done looking through it she turned towards Carlos again. “I think I have an idea.”
“Shoot.”
“Well, we can try to lure the guards away from there somehow.”
There was some noise coming from one of the rooms. It sounded like someone, or something had hit the wall in fury. They both got up and ran to the room, but also in caution. When they got to the door, Carlos put his finger to his lips and pointed to the door. Jill nodded and quietly put her hands on the door knob. She quickly yanked the door open and Carlos aimed his gun inside the room and found someone starting right back at them. He was wearing black clothes and had the Umbrella symbol on his back. He must have been another commando. “Who are you?” Carlos demanded.
“I was with the Umbrella watchdogs back in Raccoon City. “Who the fuck are you?”
“Carlos Oliveria and this is Jill Valentine. Are you working with those guys outside?”
“Yes, but they don’t know that I’m here or working with them. I’m helping then protect whatever it is that they are protecting.”
Carlos didn’t say anything, he walked behind the guy pretending he saw something out the window. A second later, he put his hands on the guys head and twisted. He was rewarded with a snap.
Jill walked over and helped him hide the commando’s body.
The whole area was being patrolled by Umbrella guards. It would be impossible for them to just walk out and get the sample. They can’t even leave the house without getting killed.
Jill started pacing back and forth in the room thinking.
Come on Jilly, there is always a way out. Just think.
Just then Jill had an idea. “I think we can get to it without being caught. Try to stick to the roof tops.”
“Yeah, then our ol’helo buddies will come down on us.” Carlos started to say something but closed his mouth instead. “There is only one way, we have to fight our way out. But in order to take out the copters, we need some rocket launchers. This place should have one, if there is an Umbrella guard around, there is always a rocket launcher.”
Jill leaned out of the closet and stood up holding something big in her arms. It was an RPG. “Guess you were right.”
“Okay, here is what we’ll do, there is enough rockets to take out both helos, so we go to the roof and find somewhere where they can’t see us. I’ll take out the helos, and you will take out the guards that come up after us. After both helos are down, we will run and jump to the next roof and go inside. Then we just have to wait and kill over a hundred of them. We won’t have enough ammo for all of them, so take their guns and ammo after you kill one.”
Jill nodded in agreement and they both quietly headed towards the roof. Jill was first to the door and Carlos ran up the stairs trying to load the RPG. As soon as he got done, Jill slowly opened the door and saw a water tank with a small platform big enough for them to fit under. Jill ran to the edge and crouched down over looking the entire middle of the city. There was only two helos circling the area and apparently didn’t see them. Jill had taken Carlos’s assault rifle and aimed it at the guards walking around joking with each other. One of the helos flew overhead and Carlos aimed the RPG at the tail rotor. He fired and RPG found its mark. The helo spun around and hit the ground right in the middle of the city. Carlos quickly dispatched the other one, except it crashed not too far from the city. Umbrella guards were running towards the helo, and one guy looked up and saw Jill. But before he could say a word, one of the guards screamed and jumped out of the helo holding his arm. The pilot must have been infected somehow. Now, all the guards were coming to the downed helo, even the SUV’s. Just a couple seconds later, the guard that was bit, bit another guy, the pilot crawled out of the copter and bit another man in the ankle. Carlos came up to her side, “Why aren’t you shooting?”
Jill pointed down at the people. Carlos looked and saw the guards screaming and running. A couple went to the SUV’s and others were shooting and running away. The infection was spreading at about ten people every thirty seconds. Several guards ran into a house and knocked out the windows. Carlos grabbed Jill and told her to run down stairs. Like Umbrella would care for them now. They both ran down the stairs and heard gunshots going off everywhere. Carlos ran into the bedroom and when Jill ran in, he slammed it shut. Luckily there were no windows for some reason, but it was safe right now. Carlos locked it and put whatever he could to block the door, except for the bed. “We need to get some sleep. Don’t worry, they can’t get through the door, it’s too well barricaded. I’m talking about Umbrella, not the cannibals. We’ll sleep for a couple hours then wake up.”
Jill looked at the bed then at Carlos, he was laying down on the couch by the door. She sighed and went to the bed. About five hours later, Carlos was waking Jill up. “Jill, we need to get moving now. We’ve slept long enough.”
Jill opened her eyes and rubbed them for a second and put her hands down. There was still gunfire going off. Not a lot, but some. “They are still alive? Wow, I’m surprised.”
She got up and helped Carlos move the furniture from in front of the door.
“Jill, be careful when we go out, there could be some of them outside this door. But grab any ammo you can find, and get to the shed. Since most of the guards are dead already, we can use the trucks for a ride out of here.”
Jill nodded and they both went out of the room.
Enrico opened the door to the next stage and they all just walked in without hesitation. There where several house sized buildings, and some trees. “What the hell are we supposed to fight here?” Just then there was a creature stepping into view.
“Ssttaarrss.” It growled.
“Shit, that’s the Nemesis.” Chris said.
They all just pulled out their guns and opened fire on him, it didn’t even slow it down. There were purple veins coming out of its back and neck. It continued to walk towards them the way it did. Its right arm raised and something came at them very fast. “MOVE!” Esther yelled pushing everyone out of the way.
She just barely got out of the way of the rocket before it hit the wall behind them and exploded. It got ready to fire the rocket again, and Jericho looked over and saw Chris aiming his 9mm at the creature. “Chris, bullets won’t do anything to it.”
But Chris just kept on aiming at it as if he didn’t hear Jericho. Chris was carefully aiming at the Nemesis, and at the same time it fired the rocket again, Chris fired his 9mm and hit the missile dead center and blew it up. The rocket exploded just outside of the rocket launcher and the Nemesis fell to the ground face first. It was dead.
Billy and Enrico walked over to it and grabbed the guns off of the Nemesis. Billy held up the sixty pound minigun, and Enrico hefted the rocket launcher onto his shoulder.
“Now, we are ready for anything.” Billy patted the minigun and gave it a small kiss on the barrel. Rebecca gave him a weird look and saw Enrico slowly walking over to her.
SIX
Randy climbed into the air duct and pulled out his Glock and pointed it in front of him. He started crawling through the small space not knowing where he was going. After he made the first right turn, he stopped and pulled out the map he had in his vest pocket. He unfolded it out in front of him and put the flashlight in his mouth after he turned it on.
“Now, where does this air duct system lead me?”
Where do you think, it leads around the building and probably ends up somewhere you don’t want to go. But just go before something reaches up and pulls you out of the duct. Randy put the paper back in his pocket without folding it back up. He checked his ammo and started crawling through the duct again. After a few minutes of twists and turns, he finally came to a grating, he looked out and saw a couple zombies shuffling around the small room. He would be able to make quick work of them, but felt like that if he made s sound, something or someone would come after him. So he pulled out his knife and waited for them to turn their backs. Within twenty seconds he was rewarded with the zombies actually walking to the door on the far end of the room. It was like they heard something on the other side of it. He didn’t care, Randy punched out the grating, but none of the zombies seemed too noticed. So he quietly crawled out and stood up slapping the dust off his clothes. He looked over at the zombies and found three in all. He crept up on them, and when he got a few feet from them, he put his hands on one of their heads and twisted, while lowering his hands, he grabbed his knife and stabbed one in the left temple. On the third one, he kicked it in the stomach and stabbed his knife into the back of its head. He looked down at them and remembered one of them. It was Dr. Jones, he’d been a quiet person, he rarely talked to other people. And when Randy tried to give the man a cup of coffee, he just threw it right back at Randy. But Randy no longer cared about the man. When Randy tried to open the door, it was locked, so he turned down the left and walked past a couple bunk beds. He found a diary of Dr. Jones’s on his bed. He picked it up and skimmed the first few pages until he found one that had his name in it.
December 30th,
That Randy guy tried to give me some coffee about an hour ago. I just threw it right back at him; he looked kinda pissed when he walked away. I admit it was kind of funny when he just looked at me, but I couldn’t laugh. I can’t blame the guy for trying to be nice. But that’s not important. What is important is why were a couple guards carrying some scientists out of the lab? It was like there was an accident down there and they got killed. Only a few minutes after one of the guards carried a guy out, he came running back in limping pretty bad. Most of the back of his leg was gone! What the hell happened down there?
Randy felt a shiver do up his spine, but he continued on reading the next page.
December 31st
The guard that was bit is very sick now, it is really starting to scare the shit out of me. A lot of people, even me have been feeling a little ill lately. I’ve been getting this rash on my right arm. I got it after touching one of the microscopes in the lab. It must be a coincidence. Now everything is back to normal here, all the dead scientists bodies are gone! No one knows exactly. But while I was sleeping, Fred woke me up to tell me he’s been getting really sick. I didn’t answer him, so he just left. After a few moments, I heard screams, so I walked to the window and found Fred getting ripped apart by someone. I though it was a dream, so I didn’t help him.
January 3rd
I woke up just now at the door I was at while watching Fred get ripped apart. I didn’t fall asleep, because I have a welt on my forehead the size of a golf ball. It hurts like hell. And now, I’m even sicker. I threw up a couple times before writing. I haven’t heard anyone at all since I woke up. I am scared so bad, I don’t think I’ll leave the room until help arrives; if they do. This must be the T-Virus, but I don’t remember anything about it being here? Wait a couple guards are coming into my room to help me……..wait, they look dead…but how cou………………..
After that, nothing. Randy put the diary into his back vest pocket while walking over to the window in the room. He found a torso of a man on the other side about twenty meters away from the door. It must be Fred. Randy shook his head and walked through the door. When he got through the door, he closed it and sat down with his back against the door. After a few moments, he thought he heard something coming from outside. It sounded like choppers, but Randy thought it wasn’t possible. Why would someone send some people in to investigate what happened? They already should know, about everything. The outbreaks, the deaths, Umbrella…….He heard it again. This time, he got up with his rifle and started to head towards the closet door. This place was like a maze. When he got to the door, he slowly opened it not wanting anything to jump out at him. But when he opened the door, a zombie jumped on him and sent him staggering backwards with the zombie on top of him. He grabbed its waist and tossed it against the wall. Before it started towards him again, he pulled out his 9mm and put a bullet right above its right eye. After he holstered his handgun, he walked through the door and turned left.
It was about another few minutes before he got to the main door. But there was only one problem. It was locked, wooded up, and nailed shut. Whoever did this, didn’t want anyone to leave.
The choppers circled the area for several minutes, Hawkins was starting to get pissed. They brought him in from his day off just so he can circle an area and almost fall out of the chopper? It really pissed him off, he at least wanted some target practice. There were at least 150 more soldiers in more helos circling the area too. There were five people in each group. In his was Mark, a good friend of his. Then there was Stan, another U.B.C.S soldier with a lot of experience. The last two were John and Luis. He didn’t care for them much, but Luis was a great shot, the best in his squad at least. John was a really nice guy if you don’t piss him off, but always gets in fights if someone so much as blinks wrong. “Ten minutes and we set down.” The pilot called back. Hawkins’s squad was armed with M16 rifles and S&W handguns. After the ten minutes went by, Hawkins noticed the chopper was starting to descend.
“Alright, get your gear ready and prepare to disembark.” Hawkins yelled over the engine of the chopper. Once it landed, there was already shooting.
“Are they already that fucking close?!” Stan yelled while looking at the other helos. Four helos have already been overrun. But before anyone was able to get back in the choppers, the pilots took off. One of them crashed only a few yards from where it took off. All of the other soldiers were running for the houses. “Hawkins?”
“Stan over here, come with us.”
Before Stan moved, he felt cold hands on his shoulder. He quickly turned around and slammed the stock of his rifle into the zombie’s skull. It fell to the ground and didn’t get back up. After he got in the house with the rest of his team, Hawkins slammed the door shut. Everyone could still hear shooting, but not a lot. “This fucking mission was a fucking wreck ever since the fucking helos landed us on the fucking ground and fucking took off to fucking leave us to die in this fucking shit creek without a fucking paddle!”
“Stan, calm down.” Hawkins grabbed his shoulders lightly. “Don’t worry all of us are going to get out of here, and kill whoever did this to us.”
Hawkins turned to Luis who was searching for something on him.
“You know what, I think I forgot my handgun back outside.” Luis sounded kind of mad. Hawkins tossed him his handgun. With the extra mags to go with it. John and Mark were looking out the back window, “Sir, I think I found a way out.” Mark was waving Hawkins over while still looking out the window. Hawkins appeared between Mark and John peering out the window. “See that sewer entrance right there?” He asked pointing to a sewer entrance in the middle of the road. “I looked at a map before we left the briefing, I think the sewer leads out of town. If we can get to it, we can leave.” Both Mark and Hawkins stood up straight looking at each other.
“You know we need to rescue any survivors we can find Corporal?”
“Yes sir, but what are the chances of there being any?”
“Good point, with all those things out there, there probably wouldn’t be any. But there is a chance that there can be some right?”
“Yes, but…”
“We HAVE to look for survivors, I tell you what, where does the sewer lead?”
“It leads to a train. And the train leads us to……out of town.”
“Okay.” Hawkins turned to Stan, but before he could say anything, John looked at Hawkins, “Sergeant, look.” John pointed out the window to the crowd of zombies surrounding the sewer entrance. “Those things are surrounding our escape. Which will make it harder for us to leave. Not only that, but look at that thing on the building across the street. I think it is the thing Umbrella likes to call, the Licker.”
“Okay, new plan. Mark, you come with me and we search for any survivors. John, you three stay here, if they clear out from the sewer, head to the train and meat us there. Otherwise stay here and if they get too close,” Hawkins ran his thumb across his throat. “Got it?”
“Yes sir” John nodded in agreement. Hawkins and Mark went upstairs and into a bedroom door. After a couple seconds, they started to search the room. Mark thought he heard something come from the closet. He looked over at Hawkins, apparently he hadn’t heard anything, because he was looking through the desk drawers. Mark decided to open the closet, he had the stuff to take out what ever was in there. He slowly began to open the door, before he got it halfway open, he was jumped by one of the zombies. Before he let out a yell, Hawkins pulled out his 9mm and put a bullet right above its right temple.
The zombie fell off him and smacked face first into the ground. “Thanks sir.”
Hawkins gave him a half smile and turned toward the window. “Mark, you see that building over there?”
“Yeah what about it?” Mark had a smooth British accent.
“I just saw two people go in there. One was a woman, the other looked like some other Umbrella Mercenary. Let’s go find them. They are survivors.”
“Except for the mercenary, he is one of us that landed.”
“After we landed, anyone was a survivor within 30 seconds.”
Mark just shrugged and knocked out the window. They climbed out of the window and were kneeling down on small part of the roof looking down at the crowd of zombies. “We could take them out with a grenade, or we can go from rooftop to rooftop until we get to that building.” Hawkins began looking at each building seeing if they will be able to do it.
“I like the part about the rooftops, we will be keeping off the ground away from those flesh eating monsters.” Mark got up and threw his assault rifle over his back and began to climb onto the roof. Hawkins was right behind, and a minute later, they got on the roof. Once they stood up, they both started to hear a growl come from somewhere on the roof. Whatever it was, they couldn’t see it. Once they turned their backs, something fast came running out at them. Before Mark had time to turn around and fire, he was tackled to the ground by a big ass dog. It instantly took a chunk out of his chest, and Hawkins heard him yell and fired without aiming. But he somehow managed to hit the dog in the chest. It fell off Mark and he literally jumped on Hawkins. The dog got up and shook like it had water on it and charged at them again. But Hawkins put a couple bullets in its head. It fell to the ground again, and never got back up. “You okay?”
Of course he’s not, he got bit by a zombie dog, you know what is going to happen. Just kill him off here and get it over with. Hawkins shook his head and helped Mark up. They began to jump to the rooftops not letting go of their guns. After a few minutes of jumping and running, they finally reached the building. Both of them jumped off the roof and ran inside before they were seen.
After Jill and Carlos got in the building, Carlos pulled out his rifle, and Jill took off the over shirt. “So where is it?” Jill threw away the shirt and began looking around.
“Don’t know, maybe……” Then the door burst open and Carlos and Jill were aiming at the door. It was two people, one of them looked hurt. After Carlos realized who it was, they both lowered their guns. “Who are you guys?”
The uninjured one put his gun away and started to speak. “I’m Sergeant Hawkins, and this is my friend Mark. We…well I saw you guys come in here. Who are you guys.” He was staring right at Carlos. “I don’t believe I seen you in the briefing before. You new?”
“Actually, no. My name is Corporal Carlos Oliveria, and this is S.T.A.R.S member Jill Valentine.”
“Carlos Oliveria?” Weren’t you stationed in Raccoon City?”
“Yes sir. Why were you?”
“No, I was the one who received your signal when you hit the clock tower.”
“Okay, we were about to get a hold of the T-Virus, so we can shut Umbrella down. Do you guys mind helping us?”
Mark and Hawkins stared and each other and shrugged at the same time. “Sure, they landed us here in the middle of the woods surrounded by damn zombies. Then they took off leaving us there. You’re lucky, if they didn’t do that, we would have said no.”
Carlos looked down the hall and saw nothing but an empty tunnel. “There has to be a door down this way a little bit.” He signaled for them to move up.
After a few moments, they finally got to a split in the tunnel. For a minute, they just stood there staring down the halls. Then Hawkins finally broke the silence. “Mark and I will go down the left, you guys go down the right. You guys got a radio?”
Carlos patted his side pocket. Hawkins nodded and he and Mark walked down the hall to the left. After a minute, Mark coughed and sat down against the rock wall. “You okay man?”
“Oh yeah, I’m just feeling sick all of a sudden. I’ll just rest here a minute then head out again.” Mark lifted up his shirt and looked at the bite. “Damn, it’s bleeding again.” If it was hurting him, he was hiding it well. A couple seconds later, he stood up and they both started down the hall again. That was right up until they came to a door. They didn’t go through, and Hawkins pulled out his radio.
“Carlos, this is Hawkins, Mark and I came to a door. It doesn’t look normal, should we go through?”
“……What does it look like?”
“Um, it is a set of double doors, they look fancy.”
“…Okay wait there. We’ll be there in a minute.”
Hawkins turned back to face the door, and found Mark opening it. “What the hell are you doing?” Mark didn’t answer, just walked inside and stopped. Hawkins went in after him and stopped himself. “What the?”
Carlos and Jill were running down the hall and found the door. “Maybe they are inside?” Jill said it like it was more of a question. But when they got through the door, Mark and Hawkins weren’t anywhere in site. Carlos was getting ready to try the radio, but Jill pointed to the ground. It was their radio and a couple shell casings for the M16. “What were they shooting at? There is no bullet holes anywhere, whatever attacked them, is still out there.”
“Let’s split up, I’ll search the entire second floor, and you search the first floor. This place is big, so be careful.” Without another word, Carlos ran up the velvet covered stairs. Jill waited for him to get out of site before moving out. She picked up the radio and walked into the living room. There was a dining table in the middle of the room, and two couches on both sides. There was a bag on one of the couches, a camera next to it, and a shotgun on the far wall right above the fireplace. She went to the shotgun and pulled it off the mantel carefully looking behind it making sure there wasn’t any device that would kill her. Luckily there wasn’t, she took the shotgun and set it down next to her on the couch. When she opened the bag, her eyes went wide. She started to pull the contents out of the bag and set them down. There was thirty shotgun shells, ten boxes of 9X19 parabellem rounds each holding twenty-five bullets, 250 bullets in all, and three RG34 grenades. She couldn’t carry all of the stuff, and it was in a regular shopping bag. So she started searching the room for a different bag. There was a duffel bag in a closet near the door she came in. She brought it back to the couch and put everything back in. Whoever was here last, left the bag on the couch and a camera. Once she remembered the camera, something suddenly hit her. The room was way out of being normal. There was broken glass every where, blood on parts of the wall she didn’t see when she first came in the room, and there wasn’t anybody in there (that she realized when she first walked in). Jill picked up the camera, and turned it on. She started to watch was on the video.
“Johnson, get your dumb ass over here NOW!”
“What do you want Mike?”
“I want you…” There was a crashing sound coming from the second floor. Everyone in the room was quiet as they heard whatever broke the window walk across the floor over head. “What the fuck is that?” Johnson went to the closet and pulled out the shopping bag and was ready to get the shotgun, until something was coming from down the stairs. It wasn’t human, but when the thing got into view, it did look human though. “I’m going to put a bullet in your brain for breaking my window.” The thing looked at him and it fell apart revealing probably hundreds of leech things.
“Ah, what the fuck are those?!” Johnson yelled. There was only six more people in the room. For some reason, the leeches didn’t attack. They just went up on the walls. Then some fifteen other people came shuffling into the room. They had blood all over their mouths, and they had milky white eyes. They walked past the leeches and bit Mike right on the arm. He yelled and shot the creature in the chest with a Beretta. It fell down, but got back up. Everyone started running the other way to the back door, but it was locked. Johnson broke through everyone and started kicking the door. But the zombies got to them and just took everyone to the ground, there was screaming coming from everyone. Some guy was being eaten at the legs, and Mike got on top of him and took out his throat. Everyone else stopped screaming. And one of the people that weren’t bit ran off the way the leeches were. The zombies were still eating everyone, and there was the sound of bone being ripped off of flesh, and lips smacking while the zombies ate the people.
After that, the camera was turned off, and there wasn’t anymore to watch. Jill re-winded it back to the part where the guy ran off. The leeches didn’t attack him or anything, they just let him go. Jill pulled out the radio, “Carlos do you copy?”
“………Yeah, Jill you find anything?”
“Um yeah, I found a shit load of handgun ammo, thirty shotgun shells, and three RG34 grenades. Carlos, there is something up there that looks like a human, but it is made of leeches. I remember something about another of my S.T.A.R.S people mention them. She said they couldn’t be killed by bullets. Also there might be a survivor up stairs somewhere. Be careful.”
“Got it.”
Jill put the video tape from the camera into the waistband of her skirt.
Ryman kicked open the door to phase four. Esther was in the back with Chris seeing if he is okay. Everyone else was in the next stage already. Ryman was holding the door open for everyone. “You going to be okay Chris?”
“Yeah thanks for asking.”
When everyone was in the next phase, Enrico and Billy were in the front of everyone. John walked up to Billy, “Let me handle that girly, you look tired of holding it.”
“Kiss my ass.” Everyone smiled and continued doing what they were doing. “So, where are they at?” As if on cue, there was a big thumping sound coming from behind one of the hills. Then something big jumped over and landed right at the base of the hill. It looked like some put the thing in a stretching machine, because you could see its spine, and its ribs. There was no organs at all, and then its buddy walked over the hill. It had a spear with machetes on the end of it. It had spikes coming from its shoulders, there was no eyes, nose, or ears on it at all.
Jericho looked at the one that came over second. “That one is named Marsacs.” He said pointing at it. “The other one I don’t know who that is. Just fuck them up William and Enrico. Enrico tried to fire the rocket launcher, but it jammed. Billy pointed the minigun at the tall one and opened fire. The minigun ripped through its spine and it broke in half. But that didn’t stop it. “That is the Big Cheese. Leon told me about him.”
Billy continued to fire at the Big Cheese, and it died before it was able to reach ten feet. Then he turned toward Marsacs.
“ ‘member me asshole? You took my friends from me.” As Billy pulled the trigger, the gun got about three shots off before it jammed. Billy looked at it for a second, then used it as a battering ram on Marsacs. Billy ran into it and sent it sprawling against the hill and it just fell to the ground not moving. They all knew it wasn’t dead though. “Just run for the door before it gets up!” But it was too late. Marsacs was already sitting up. Ryman pulled out his Beretta and started firing into its ugly face. Nothing happened except some flesh came off, but that didn’t even make it flinch. It just kept on coming at them. After Ryman fired five shots to the head, everyone else formed a line and started firing at it. Waste of time. Rebecca stopped firing and looked over at the rocket launcher. It still had one rocket left in it. The gun may have been jammed, but who says you need the gun to make the explosion?
“Claire, help me with this.” Claire ran to her side, and they both started pulling the rocket out of the gun. They both ran back to the others and Claire set the rocket down in front of them. Chris gave her a smile and looked at the others. “Back up!” Everyone started backing up and Ryman almost fell from tripping over a rock.
Chris waited for Marsacs to get right next to the rocket before he fired. As soon as Marsacs was right next to the rocket, Chris sent one shot right into the tip of the missile, the explosion shook the ground and everyone fell down. Once the smoke cleared, Marsacs was nowhere to be found.
“Damn, nice plan Claire.” Ryman said helping her up.
Chris looked over at Ryman, “Of course it is Redfields always have a plan.”
Everyone was silent for a moment, until they heard something on the ceiling. Esther looked up along with everyone else. Marsacs had avoided the explosion, but that wasn’t possible. Everyone ran for the door to the next and final stage. But Marsacs swung his spear down and swept Jericho off his feet, The knives attached to the end cut deeply into his right calf. “Ahhhhh!” Both John and Ryman stopped and ran back to Jericho’s aid. Just as Marsacs swung down to finish him off, Ryman and John pulled Jericho away. John and Ryman ran at full speed to catch up with the others, even with Jericho’s 190 pound muscular body. At the last few steps, Jericho took his left leg and pushed the ground as hard as he could. They all flew right through the door.
They had reached the final stage.
Once Randy heard the sound of the choppers dieing away, her ran outside screaming up into the sky at them. “No, don’t go! I’m here! No!” Once he realized the copters weren’t going to come back, that’s when he remembered he was outside and he could become someone’s lunch if he isn’t careful. He threw his flare as far as he could, and ran to where the helos stopped for a minute. He ended up in the middle of a city, it wasn’t big, but there were several buildings. He started to look around, and found someone crouched in a corner. He edged up on the person slowly with his rifle, and when he got a couple meters from the person he stopped. “Hey, you okay sir?” The man didn’t answer. Randy slowly walked another three feet and stopped again. This time his voice was more commanding. “Get up, now!” This time, the man stopped whatever he was doing, and got up. He turned around and was holding an arm to his lips. Without hesitation, Randy put two bullets above his right eye.
He looked down the way the zombie was facing and found someone running at him. The person was missing a left arm. He didn’t say anything as he was running at him. “You okay man?” He didn’t answer, just kept on running. Randy started to whisper to himself. “That can’t be a zombie, because zombies don’t run. Do I shoot? Or do I wait for him to get to me?”
Shoot, you idiot! If he didn’t answer, what makes you think he is a human? If you wait for him to come to you, there is a good chance that you will die. That was probably his arm the zombie was eating.
The person or thing was only ten meters from him now, he wasn’t slowing down. Randy didn’t have time to aim at the person before he jumped on him. Randy was on his back holding the person away from him. The person was revealing rotten teeth and flesh. It was another mercenary. Randy was holding the zombie up with one arm, and reached for his secondary weapon with his other hand. As soon as he got his weapon in hand, he head butted the zombie, which was a waste of time since it did nothing. He put the barrel of the gun against its right temple and fired. He got up and looked down at the zombie he just shot. “What the fuck?”
This is Umbrella remember? All kinds of weird shit happens.
“You have got to be fucking shittin’ me.” He looked over at the woods nearby and saw a bunch of……crows.
Go ahead say it, zombie crows.
He turned and ran to the nearest building. The door was locked and he didn’t have time to break the door down. He turned around and found a copter only about a hundred feet from where he stood. Without hesitation, he ran for the downed bird. The crows were gaining on the town fast. He ran at full speed and didn’t stop no matter what he had to go through. Once he reached the copter, he pulled the door open and threw himself inside. As he sat up, a gun was put to his head. “You human?”
Randy had the urge to hit the guy for stupidity. “No, I’m a zombie and can open doors and shoot guns. Plus I can talk.” The gun lowered from Randy’s head, “That’s better.” Then there was a small thump on the roof of the copter.
“What the hell is that?” The man was confused.
“Quiet,” Randy whispered to the guy, “They are zombie crows. There are hundreds of them.” One landed on the cockpit window and was staring inside. “Can this back wall of the helo fold down?”
“Yeah, move, I’ll fold it down. Then we get inside and fold it back up. Randy slowly moved toward the cockpit. The man was folding down the back wall and it slipped and hit the ground with a large THUMP. The crow on the window started to caw loudly. Randy grabbed all the bullet proof vests he could and ran into the back. The guy pulled the wall up and heard glass shatter as he latched it down. The back was pitch black, but they both had flashlights and there was a light in the back anyway. “Who are you anyway?”
“The name is Randy. You?”
“Mine is Stan. I was here with a squad, but two of them went to look for survivors, and there was another two I was with, but we were attacked and I think they’re dead. I’ve been hiding here in the helo ever since.” The crows were still pecking on the wall, “Don’t worry, the wall is made of metal. At least an inch thick. Umbrella takes security seriously.” Stan flipped the switch to turn the light on.
Randy grabbed one of the vests and pulled out his knife. Stan cocked an eyebrow.
“Take out what’s inside, and u got a pillow.” Randy spent another couple minutes taking the metal plating out of the vests. They weren’t very comfortable, but it would do. They waited for another couple of hours for the crows to stop pecking, but very few stopped. “So I guess we just sleep until morning. Maybe they’ll have stopped by then.” Randy handed him half of the vests he grabbed, and watched him until he fell asleep. Not along after that, Randy just put his head on a vest and went to sleep.
In the morning, Randy was already up and the wall was folded down, but Stan wasn’t in the helo anywhere. Randy looked at where Stan had slept and only found his gun. He grabbed it and got out of the copter slowly. He looked around but didn’t see him anywhere. There was a sound coming from the other side of the helo, Randy slowly walked around it with Stan’s gun. Just before he turned to see who was on the other side of the helo, he took a deep breath then let it out. Then he jumped from around the corner and found a gun pointed at him just as he pointed his at the other person. After a second, the owner of the handgun lowered his arm. The guy wasn’t Stan, but he looked like another guy that might be better. The guy had a deep rich American voice. “I don’t think we met before. Who are you?”
Only then did Randy lower his gun. He slung it over his back and stuck out his hand to shake his. “The name is Randy, I was a member of the Umbrella U.B.C.S.” He looked straight at the man’s face, “And you are?”
“Spence Mannings, were you looking for a guy?”
Randy’s eyes widened as he said that, “Yeah his name is Stan, did you see him?”
Spence sighed at turned around looking at a small group of people. None of them were moving, but the man in the middle caught his eyes. It was Stan. Randy looked back at the guy, “So where did you come from, and who are you with?”
“Well, I was with an American government Delta Force, but…” whatever Spence was going to say next was cut off by some automatic gun fire. Then some screams. Who ever had fired those rounds was dead now.
“Let’s go check that out.” Randy said already running for the door. Without hesitating, Randy plowed through the door and landed on his side. He successfully broke through the door, but he also had a 1 inch metal pipe go through his side. The pipe was only about a foot long, but it did o through him completely. Spence ran up to him and dropped down looking at the pipe.
“You should have been careful, what was the bar doing here anyway?”
“Don’t know, I guess someone thought it would hold the door. Pull it out fast.”
Spence grabbed the pipe with his right hand and put his left hand on Randy’s shoulder and gave a quick pull. Randy fell to the ground rolling and holding his bloody side.
“What do you guys suppose is at this stage?” Ryman asked setting Jericho down. They have blown just about all their ammo and had only their handguns left. Several of them are injured from the previous stages. Chris had a couple broken ribs, Billy has a lot of scratches on his back from being thrown to the ground by the Tyrant, and Jericho just got a big cut on his left calf. This stage has a lot of machinery, so what or who is supposed to be here? Then all of a sudden, there was a small evil laugh coming from somewhere in the room. It was echoed too much to know exactly where it came from. At that moment, some man in a purple robe with gold trim walked into view.
“Ah, welcome.” The man raised his arms and looked in the air, “I am Ozmund Saddler, the leader of the Los Illuminados.” He looked back at them with a slight smile on his face. The man’s face looked really burned up. John was the first to speak up, “Does anyone mind if I kick this guy’s ass? Two seconds and this Saddler fucker is already going to die. I think he will be easier than what we already encountered.” John charged at Saddler, but was back handed into the air and landed next to Jericho. Saddler let out a long evil laugh and a small eye appeared in his mouth. As fast as it appeared, it disappeared just as fast, but no one saw the eye. “If you think you can kill me, then try.”
Billy turned around to face everyone. “Okay, this guy isn’t going to be easy. Esther, take all the women and injured and stay by the door. When I yell now, take them and run to the next door. Chris, that means you too.” Esther, Claire, and Rebecca took the wounded and got to the door they just came through. Meanwhile, Ryman, Billy, Enrico, and John checked their ammo before turning k to back to Saddler. John had thirty rounds, Billy had forty-five, Enrico had fifty, and Ryman had twenty-five. It seemed like more than enough ammo to take him out, but this is Umbrella, nothing of theirs take little ammo. Unfortunately, Saddler wasn’t a creation of Umbrella, he is the leader of the Los Illumidos.
Leon had told them about his encounter with some other group of people that are trying to reestablish Umbrella while he was rescuing the president’s daughter. There were no zombies or Umbrella monsters involved. Instead, there was this other virus called the Plaga Sample. Leon had said that he met up with a spy named Ada Wong again. No one knew what again meant, but Claire had explained that back in Raccoon, he met up with a spy named Ada. She was sent to retrieve the G-Virus, and successfully retrieved it. But instead of completing her mission, she helped Leon. Leon had saved her life twice. First time he took a bullet fired from a berretta by Dr. William Birkin’s wife, Annette. Second time, was when she was about to be eaten by a giant alligator. The gator was about to snack on her, but it heard Leon coming and went for him. Leon went for a third time, but Ada let go of Leon’s hand and plummeted to her death. Well that is what Leon thought at first. While he was rescuing the president’s daughter, he met up with Ada again. She managed to save him once. Jack Krauser was about to put a knife through Leon’s chest, but Ada shot the knife out of Krauser’s hand. They never talked much, but it seemed like Ada and Krauser knew each other.
But no longer, Leon is dead and they have to kill Saddler. Ryman aimed his handgun at Saddler’s forehead and threw three shots dead center. But for some reason, the bullets didn’t do anything to Saddler. Suddenly Saddler charged at them extremely fast. Nobody was able to make out any features anymore. He hit Ryman hard enough to collapse him and make him start gasping for air. Clair ran up to his side to see if he was okay. After a few seconds, Ryman sat up, he was breathing fine by now. Just had the wind knocked out of him. He looked over at Billy, Enrico, and John and found them firing at Saddler, but he was no where to be found. Then Saddler suddenly appeared a couple feet in front of them. A tentacle came out of his hand and tried to hit John, but John grabbed the tentacle and put a bullet right through it. Saddler yanked it back waving it back and forth while blood was gushing from the wound. An eye appeared in his mouth again, but this time, everyone saw it. Enrico tried to take a shot at it, but his mouth close before he could fire. So when he fired 3 rounds, they just smacked into Saddler’s smiling face. Saddler tried another attack with his tentacle and missed completely this time. Dust started to rain down from above, Ryman looked up at the wall behind them and saw part of it start to fall off and get ready to fall on top of them. He looked over at the others and saw them looking back at him with the same expression. He nodded at them and John started to get a big grin on his face. Ryman looked back over at Saddler and found him walking towards them with an evil little smile of his. As he passed Esther and the others, Billy looked behind Saddler, “Go! Now!” and watched Esther, Claire, and Rebecca take Chris and Jericho and drag them to the next door. Ryman, Billy, and Enrico ran behind Saddler, but he just kept walking to John. John slowly backed up out of the reach of the chunk of wall that would fall any second now. Once Saddler was right on the mark, John looked up then back at Saddler. Then finally the piece of the wall that Saddler hit started to fall. But out from somewhere, another big creature jumped and shoved Saddler out of the way and the wall crushed it instead. Kevin, John, Enrico, and Billy looked down at the thing and instantly remembered who it was. But Enrico was the first to speak up, “Cole,” he sighed. Cole was barely alive from the impact of the wall slamming on top of him. Cole met every on of their eyes, and for some reason, all four of them knew the real Cole is now back. Cole was giving them an apologetic look with his eyes. Then tears started forming in his eyes. His once non-human quiet voice spoke to them. “I’m sorry.” Then he looked at Saddler and grabbed his ankle holding him in place. The four grabbed their weapons and unloaded what they had into Saddler. Then his eye appeared and they didn’t hesitate at shooting. The eye burst with liquid flying everywhere. Saddler fell to the ground without moving at all. Then Cole lifted his heavy right hand and smashed it into Saddler’s skull, collapsing it completely. From the looks of it, Saddler wouldn’t be getting up anytime soon. Then Cole spoke again with that soft non-human voice of his again. “I wanted that one. I’m sorry.” Then he didn’t say anything again. His body lay as still as a half ton boulder. The building started to shake and a calm computer voice came on to the intercom.
“The self destruct sequence has been activated. Repeat. The self destruct sequence has been activated. This is not a drill. All employees please evacuate immediately. You have ten minutes to reach minimum safe distance. All employees…..”
“Fuck!” Billy yelled. He ran over and grabbed Enrico. “Come on, he’s dead.” Together they ran for the exit door. Once the door was in reach, they found Claire, and Esther working on unlocking the door. “Move!” Billy shouted signaling them to get out of the way. Esther and Claire moved out of the way, and Billy, Enrico, John, and Ryman started shooting at the lock. The door swung open and revealed a hall with a bunch of other halls leading in different directions. There had to be at least ten hallways.
“Well, all I have to say is, shit.” John looked down the far left hall, “I’m more than willing to bet that out escape is that hallway.” No one disagreed with him and started running through the hallway right up until there was a girlish scream.
“What the?” Enrico caught up to them slowly from dragging Jericho down the hall. “No need to worry, it was John.”
John was wearing a big grin on his face. “Water dripped on me.” This time everybody sighed and continued running. About five minutes later, the finally reached the end of the tunnel.
“You have five minutes to evacuate. Repeat, you have five minutes to evacuate.”
There was no vehicle or anything at the end of the hall waiting for them. Enrico looked at John, “I thought you said this was the way out.”
John gave him a look, “I never said that, I said it might be the way out. I was right anyway. The only proem is that we don’t have a ride. There is a door to our right there.” He pointed to their right at a fancy wooden door. The beeping over the intercom got louder, and made everyone run to the door. Ryman and Claire were first ones to the door. Ryman grabbed at the handle and tried to open it, but the handle only rattled.
“Get back!” Ryman yelled as he reached for his holster pulling out his Colt 1911. He aimed at the handle and fired. The first shot bounced off the metal and went into his side. As he fell to the ground, he pulled the trigger a second time and successfully shot the lock in the right place. Claire knelt down beside him trying to help him up. Everyone ran through while Claire looked at his wound.
Claire could already tell it was bad from how quickly his hand was covered in blood. It was only about five seconds from the time he fired the first bullet to the time Claire knelt beside him. “You’re hurt.” She said stating the obvious. She turned Ryman a little so she could look at his lower back where the bullet should have came out. She turned him to face her, “There is no exit hole, which means the bullet is lodged in your side. But we have to get out of here before we can look at it. On the other side of the door was a parking lot. As Claire helped Ryman through, there was a honking noise and John leaned out of the passenger’s window of a military deuce and half. Billy was in the driver’s seat checking his rear view mirror. John started waving at them to hurry up. “Hurry up guys, we can’t go anywhere until you get in.”
Billy was still looking out of the rear view mirror. And Claire heard him say something to John as she helped Ryman in the back. “John, we can’t go anywhere until your fat ass decides to get out.” John just smiled at that. He endured numerous fat jokes although he has almost no fat on him what so ever. He is still six foot six, but added on some more muscle since his mission at Caliban Cove. As Claire climbed in the back, Billy started the truck up and opened the garage door. As soon as the door was up, Billy pulled the truck out, the diesel engine was louder than Claire had expected. Billy kept the pedal to the metal trying to get as far away as possible. He went over a curb at top speed and everyone bounced into the air, John and Billy slammed their heads into the roof of the cab. But luckily it wasn’t a very big hit. After a minute, they couldn’t hear the beeping of the alarm anymore. Just felt the impact of the explosion against the truck as it sent the heavy vehicle spinning out of control. Billy couldn’t keep under control, but managed to before they hit a building. The only word that came out of Billy’s mouth before impact was, “Shit.”
Captain Stewart pulled out a bundle of files from his desk and set them down on top of his wooden desk. His entire squad was in the room with him. He was getting ready to give the briefing as usual. “Alright people shut up now.” Everyone turned around in their desks except for Peterson who was still turned around in his seat with an arm over the back of the chair. Captain Stewart grabbed a book and threw it as hard as he could at Peterson. “As you have already figured out, most of Europe has already been overrun by the undead. But,” Stewart looked at everyone for a minute, “There is a small chance that there may be survivors. I will have us split up into two different teams. Gorbin, you will be the leader of the second team.” Bert Gorbin sighed, “You have a problem with that corporal?”
Bert sat up straight, “Me sir, hell no, I love this job.”
“Good, you will take,” Stewart started looking around the room at the other soldiers, “Hennings, Davidson, Peterson, and Loginov. Everyone else will be with me.” Stewart stood up from his desk, “Expect the unexpected. And remember, you’re the S.T.A.R.S Charlie team. We are, the best.” Gorbin and his team got up and grabbed their SA80 assault rifles, Berrettas, and two grenades each. Stewart walked over and grabbed his rifle, and his team was ready and waiting by the door, he kicked the door open and was rewarded with one of undead sprawling backwards. He went out into the hall and looked down both ways for the safest path to take. There wasn’t a path that was clear of zombies, but the hall to the left had a few of them, and a bunch of broken wood. Long story short, they were going to take that hall. Stewart quickly dropped into a crouch and took out the zombies on the left hall. He started jogging down that hall hearing only the crunching of debris under his combat boots, and screaming, lots of screaming. While his three soldiers of his team were on their way out, they each looked down the right hall and fired a three round burst at the crowd. They came to the end of the hall where it turned into a T. Down the left was some remaining cops firing into a crowd of undead. Such a waste. The crowd reached them in a matter of seconds. The remaining officers were screaming until the very end of their lives. Stewart and his three men continued running down the hall until they reached the door that would take them to the heli pad. “ Door still has the lock on it. So how could Gorbin have left?” Stewart didn’t hesitate and shot the lock off. The lock fell to the ground and the door slowly swung open. Outside was the helo pad with one helo sitting on the pad. The other one was missing. After the others got out to the pad, Derbaren slammed the door shut and put what he could against the door. Stewart remained looking at the helo. “This isn’t possible.”
“Why not?” Derbaren said turning away from the door.
“Because the door was locked when we came to it, but there is only one helo. WE got ourselves some Umbrella ass kicking to do.” Stewart turned from the helo looking at his team with a slight grin on his face.
Carlos caught up to Jill about a minute or so later. She was holding a bag with her left hand and a blank expression on her face. “What’s wrong?”
“Oh nothing, we should just find Hawkinson and his men quick. Then get the hell out of here.” She reached into the bag and grabbed out a box of handgun ammo and two of the grenades. “Continue as planned. Go search your second floor, we meet back in……” There was a big rumbling sound coming from the roof. Then there was a crashing sound landing on the floor of the second floor right above them. Without another word, Carlos grabbed his rifle out and ran upstairs. He rounded three corners and came to a door that looked heavily damaged. He kicked it open and slowly walked into the room, and saw nothing, “What the hell made that…” As if on Q, something, better yet, someone jumped through the roof landing on the floor making a heavy sound. Before Carlos could aim at the man, his gun was slapped out of his hand. The guy was huge, but Carlos was too shocked at the man that he didn’t pull out his handgun. The man was Mark. He looked down at Carlos with his ghostly eyes. “Tell Hawkins that I quit. I’m going to kill you, then him. But not your girly friend. I’m going to make her scream. I will enjoy doing that.” Mark tried to jump on Carlos, but Carlos moved out of the way and jumped up to his feet. Quickly, he grabbed one of his grenades and shoved it into Mark’s shirt. Mark didn’t seem to notice. He turned to Carlos and tried to take a step, but Carlos dove for cover, then BOOM! The whole mansion was shaking.
“….los, is ever…ok? Car….Come…You….opy” The massive explosion was interfering with the radio signals. But Carlos was able to understand Jill.
“Yeah, I’m here, I’m okay. Mark isn’t. I haven’t found Hawkins yet.”
“Ok, I’m on my way.” Just a minute later, Jill slowly walked into the room. The first thing that caught her eyes was the worried look on Carlos’s face. “What’s wrong?” He said nothing, only stared at her. She looked up and seen the exact reason Carlos had the look on his face. It was some leeches, and just as she looked up, one of them detached from the ceiling and landed on her face. It was slimy, cold, and very hungry. Once it landed on her face, it started to feed, and the others did as well. Carlos only screamed, and Jill was screaming louder than Carlos could possibly yell. He could only stare in disbelief, he watched as Jill was being eaten alive by the creatures, he watched as Jill screamed and then fell to the floor rolling around in a world of pain. She continued to scream and tried to slap the things off her body, but it was pointless. After a minute she lay there motionless. Carlos quickly hopped over the body of leeches and ran out the door. He ran down the hall to his right and didn’t stop, he took the left at where the hallway Teed, and ran right into someone. He looked up and saw that is was Hawkins. As soon as he realized it was Hawkins, he started to cry. He didn’t care if made him look like a pussy, he just watched as his best friend was killed in the most horrible way possible.
“Whoa whoa, Carlos, what happened?” He was still supporting Carlos from his armpits.
He wiped the tears from his eyes and look at Hawkins shaking and tried to tell him, “Jill…..leeches got her.” After that, he started to cry some more. Hawkins sat them both on the ground and put his arm around Carlos.
“I’m sorry man. I really am, but we can’t stay here. It’s too dangerous to stay here, those things are walking around out there, no matter where we stay, they will find us. I hid in a small ass closet and somehow one of those decaying freaks found me. Carlos was still sobbing with his head buried in his arms. But he managed to look up at Hawkins with tears still in his eyes.
“All right, let’s go” Carlos stood up and wiped the tears from his eyes as best as he could, he un-strapped his rifle and checked his ammo. He still had 2 more full mags left for his rifle, and 2/3rds of one still in his gun, he didn’t dare to go back in the room and grab the ammo from Jill. “So, how do you suppose we get out of here?”
“Well, I found a door at the back of this place, it is a steel door, so, whatever is behind it, we must get at it. But, I don’t know where the key is at.” Hawkins turned around to put his back to Carlos, as if he was going to start walking off without him. After a brief moment, he turned back around with a slight grin on his face. “I’m willing to bet that it isn’t anywhere near here. We both know Umbrella well enough that they won’t make the same mistake twice. We should probably get out of here, unless you would like to stay here and try to find another way through that door. You’re choice man.”
“Unless you can break through the wall, I say we leave. But let me just take a look at the door first.” Hawkins nodded and started walking back they way he’d come. After only a minute of going through twists and turns, they came to the door. Carlos looked at the wall around it and took a step back. Hawkins cocked an eyebrow and in one fluid motion, Carlos put his shoulder through the wall. “Plaster, they made it look like thick wood.” Carlos stood up and wiped the plaster dust off him. Before he got finished, he stood there in shock, then disbelief.”
As Chris opened his eyes, all he could see was nothing but blur and weird shapes. He sat up against the floor of the tipped over truck. There was blood seeping from his head, and he wiped it off before taking in his surroundings. After a few minutes of sitting there, his full vision came back to him. He looked around the back of the vehicle and saw everyone else’s body’s lying there. “Guys?” He leaned over and nudged Claire, and she didn’t roll over, but shuffled. She wasn’t unconscious, just asleep. So he started nudging everyone else, and they all woke up, Jericho was the first to say something.
“Where are we now?” That managed to wake Claire up. She leaned up and looked at everyone before speaking.
Before she talked, she put her hand on her head, and felt blood seeping through her fingers. “Shit.” She looked over at Chris and then outside, the dust was almost clear. Ryman was sitting up and still holding his gunshot wound. Chris and Enrico were the first to step outside.
They ran to the front of the truck to check on Billy and John. Billy was already crawling out, and Enrico went over to help him up. Chris went to the passenger side to check on John. John was awake and looked like he wasn’t in much pain. He turned his head to Chris and smiled, “Let’s do it again, let’s do it again.” Chris didn’t bother to see if he was okay. Before he went back over to Billy and Enrico, something hit the dirt right by his feet. He turned around and saw something shiny about 100 yards away. Who ever it was had a rifle, and apparently thought they were zombies. He tried to wave his hands, but the person just kept on firing. He doesn’t think we are zombies, it must be Umbrella. Chris whipped out his 9mm and started firing in his direction. Enrico and everyone else ran to Chris’s side and looked at where he was shooting. Another bullet landed by Chris’s feet and everyone else but Claire, Esther, and Rebecca started firing in the direction Chris was. Something exploded about 15 feet in front of them. “Take cover!” Chris shouted and everyone ran behind the truck. Another explosion, followed by another. “Okay, he is in the tenth story window of Barston’s hotel. He has a grenade launcher so be careful.” Everyone nodded and Chris turned around and fired three more rounds into their attacker’s direction then took cover again. The explosions just kept coming and coming. Chris checked his ammo, and only had one round left in his current clip. He leaned up and fired the one round. Smoke came out of the chamber of the gun, and Chris didn’t take cover again. But their attacker stopped firing. Chris sat back down behind the truck and ejected his empty mag. “Let’s make a run for that building over there.” Chris pointed to the closet building. This was about 30 yards east of their position. Without a warning, everyone got up and made a break for the building. John was in front and threw his whole weight into the door and broke completely through. John got up as everyone else ran inside. As Ryman stepped foot inside, he started to cough up blood. Claire quickly sat him against the wall and began examining his wound. Jericho and Esther were standing at the base of the stairs on the far wall looking up it. “Claire, you stay here with Kevin and watch over him. The rest of us will go take a look upstairs, you still have the radio so if you get into any trouble, let me know. We will be back in a few minutes.” She nodded and Chris gave her shoulder a light squeeze, and smiled then walked up the stairs. As soon as they all got to the top of the stairs, he turned around to look at them. “Okay, we don’t have time to search this place together, so we need to split up into groups. Me and Esther, Jericho, Enrico, and Rebecca, and then John and Billy. I don’t care where you guys go, just make sure you search this place for any kind of medical treatment for Ryman. Also look for ammo if you can, we are starting to run out. And if you find treatment let me know, I’ll tell you what to do after that. Questions?” No one answered and then Chris nodded. Everyone went their separate ways, Chris and Esther waited until they all got out of site before even taking a step forward. He turned to Esther and opened his mouth, “I don’t have a good feeling about this place. We need to get out of here as soon as possible.” Esther only nodded. Chris kicked open the first door he came to, it only had some books and files. “Start reading.”
Chris went to the bookshelf and grabbed a book on research data. It turned out to be a journal. “Esther! Come here quick.” She was at his side in less than three seconds. “Journal entry by someone that is supposed to be dead right now.” Chris reached for his radio while Esther looked through the journal. “Claire are you there?”
“Yes I am.”
“How’s he doing?” Chris bit his lip and felt his heart beating hard against his chest.
“Not so good, he is starting to get a fever.”
“Ok listen, I found a journal entry. You know who it is by. Alfred Ashford.”
“Can’t be, he is dead.” Claire didn’t seem too happy with that statement.
“Well he is, the last entry was dated today. Plus it’s signed by him at the end, which means he can’t be very far from here. There has to be an Umbrella lab near here, we have to find it. I will be down there in just a second. Over and out.” He turned to Esther, try to find anything else useful in here, I will be right back. I’m going to get Claire and Ryman.” Chris got up and hurried out the door and almost ran into John and Billy.
“Chris what’s going on?” Billy pushed Chris aside and looked at him.
John was turned around singing, “A clean gun is a happy gun. My gun is my bestest friend.”
He didn’t answer and just waved at Billy and John to come with him. Billy got to the edge of the stairs before he realized that John wasn’t following them. He turned around and tapped him on the shoulder. “Oh shit, oops.” John started running and jumped the stairs to the bottom without even touching a step. Chris was already talking to Claire before Billy and John reached him. Chris touched Ryman’s forehead and he twitched a little at the touch of Chris’s hand. Ryman was starting to get a fever.
“Not good, we have to get him to a doctor ASAP. But I don’t think there is one alive anymore.” Chris reached into his chest pocket and pulled out a small notebook, “Here, take a look at this, I will see what I can do about healing him right here.” Claire nodded and started flipping through the pages.
Claire flipped through the book to the first entry wondering if Alfred had said anything about he managed to survive.
September 31
Damn that Claire Redfield and her meddlesome brother. Progenitor has failed me, but I have managed to recreate it with the G-Virus. HA! I am going to enjoy watching them try to kill Orieon. Codenamed Z-000 Orieon. It is an unbelievable creation. My sweet darling Alexia, I’m afraid she failed the test with Orieon. That means nothing, except that my creation is a success. It will be ready to come out of stasis again in a week.
Claire flipped the book closed but kept looking at it. “We need to find Alfred.” Her voice was low, but scared.
“Yeah, you want to stay here with Kevin again while we go look?” Claire looked over and saw Chris staring at her with a gaze that was apologizing.
“Good idea, be careful.” Claire picked Kevin up and they slowly walked over to the closet. Chris and the others disappeared up the stairs, and that is when Claire broke the silence. “You need anything?”
“No. I’m…good.” They both drifted asleep slowly. Claire was resting her head against Kevin’s shoulder until he sat up.
“What’s wrong?”
“There is someone coming. I can hear voices.” He pulled out his handgun and quietly cocked the hammer on his gun. The closet was extremely dark and barely big enough for them to lie down in. Both Claire and Kevin heard the front door open and at least three people walk in. They were both pressed against the door trying to listen to what the men were talking about. One of the soldiers looked over in their direction and nudged the other soldier with his elbow. They both pointed their rifles at the door and Ryman leaned back and opened fire. The door shattered when the bullets hit, but they went through and hit the two soldiers. Five shots from his handgun and there was no more door. The third guy went running off through the halls. But Kevin managed to get a glimpse of the man. “He’s wearing a red coat lined with gold trim.”
“Alfred.”
They could hear more soldiers running from outside towards the hotel. Ryman grabbed Claire and took off running. Limp or no limp he was one hell of a runner. Claire was barely able to keep up with him. Claire hadn’t notice they were running in the direction of Alfred. The other men busted open the door and Ryman whipped his arm around and fired four more shots and his gun clicked on empty. He ejected the clip to the hardwood floor, and heard one of the soldiers hit the ground. The guy had slipped on his empty clip. But that had only bought them a couple seconds of time. They ran through the first door ahead of them and there was another soldier standing there pointing his weapon at them as if he knew they were coming through the door. “Drop you weapons.” They both did as they were told. As soon as their weapons clattered to the floor, the man walked over to them and Ryman grabbed the guy’s arm and twisted him around and Claire could see something sticking out of the guy’s stomach. He pulled the knife out from his back and put it back in its sheath. They continued to run until they reached a closet, Kevin practically shoved Claire in as he slammed the door shut behind them. Claire turned on her flashlight and started examining Kevin’s gun shot. He coughed quietly, but was is some serious pain. “Don’t worry, we will find you medical treatment. Stay here and keep quiet. I’m going to go find some medical supplies. And maybe some hemostatic.” Without another word, she got up and checked her ammo, “I’m also going to try to find Alfred on my way. But I will be back as soon as possible.” She opened the door and walked out. Once she closed the door, she fired three rounds down the hall they came from.
Randy woke up. Again. He looked around and found Spence Mannings sitting in the cockpit of the copter trying to use the radio. “Radio doesn’t work. I tried….it. How long?” “Uh, two days.” Randy tried to sit up but fell right back down from a sharp pain in his side. “The pipe that was stuck in your side has done a lot of internal damage. You should be okay for a while. I was able to patch you up good enough until we can get to a hospital or something.”
“The whole world is under control of these zombies, there isn’t going to be anyone at the hospital.”
“Yeah, but I’m a medic. I can use the supplies they have there. I heard some gunshots when you have been sleeping the past two days. I’m thinking there maybe survivors around here. I seen a couple of people dressed in black like you, and a guy in a red and gold overcoat. I’m going to see if I can catch up with anyone.” Spence finally looked back at Randy, “I’m going to lock the doors so nothing can get in. If I find anyone, I will come back for you.” He tossed Randy a fully loaded shotgun and gave him a salute before heading out the helo.
Randy looked down at his side and seen most of his shirt gone and used for his bandage. He didn’t know how long Spence was going to be gone, but honestly didn’t care. He had an ass load of firepower to protect him in case anything happened. But he just wanted to get out of there and fast. That is his major priority at the moment. He could get out right now if he wanted, but he didn’t want to leave Spence behind. He looked at his watch and it read 1:30 a.m. All the street lights still worked, but he watched one as a shadow moved very fast past the front window. It was something that was making him want to grip the shotgun harder, which he did. His knuckles were turning white from gripping it too hard. He knew who or whatever that was, it wasn’t Spence, because he would have heard the shots from his gun. Within three seconds of the moving shadow, there was a gunshot from a handgun pretty close by. Right after the shot, there was talking amongst two men. The voices sounded real familiar. They were getting closer by the second and Randy didn’t like it one bit, so he just threw himself to the floor to make it look like he died in the crash.
“…but if they uncover the…” The voice stopped and he heard the two sets of feet start walking toward the front of the helo. “the virus..”
Shit, Randy thought to himself. It was his employers. Jack Krauser and Albert Wesker. “Krauser, the whole world is dead; there isn’t anyone that is powerful enough to shut us down. Boy scout Redfield and his little squad are already wanted, even if there is some people left alive here. Plus they will run into a little surprise, there is Ashford’s amazing creation. If they manage to outrun the thing, they will run into yet another of our little surprises.” Randy could see the reflection of Wesker and Krauser on the back wall of the copter. They were still looking into the helo right at him. “This is starting to look on the good side for us now.” Then just like that, Wesker and Krauser were gone. They must have thought he was dead, and the good part was they couldn’t even recognize it was him. Because if they did, they for sure would have tried to get in the helo. He was hungry, but didn’t want to leave the helo in case Spence came back. So he decided if he could try to fix the radio. He was an electronics expert; he could fix anything if he had the right stuff and right tools. He got up ignoring the pain in his side and sat down in one of the seats. He looked at the radio and tried the power switch already knowing it wasn’t going to work. It flipped easily, so it must be the wiring that needs fixing. Some of the wires must have been cut when the copter crashed. He could probably fix it from the inside, but it would take a lot more work. But he decided a little hard work was better than death. He grabbed each side of the radio and started wiggling it out of place, just as the side door opened up scaring the shit out of Randy. But it was only Spence.
“I think I can fix the radio. I just need some more wires, and a set of wire cutters.” He turned around and looked at Spence, “So, how was the search?”
“I didn’t find anyone alive, but I found the bodies that were shot two days ago. I think I know where to get some wires and wire cutters. I will be back in like fifteen minutes.”
“Okay, be careful, I mean it.” Spence gave him a slight smile and was gone again. After he disappeared, Randy turned back around and started looking at the radio again. He wiggled some of the wires, and then the radio snapped on. By the time Randy looked at it, it shut off. There was still all the wires in place, but a couple were almost split in half. He tied all the bare wires together and then the radio snapped on. Randy almost jumped for joy, but remembered that there probably isn’t anyone left alive around here. You never know until you try Randy. Right. So he flipped it over to the first channel and grabbed the microphone. “Hello? This is Randy Williamson; I am trapped inside a copter in the middle of the city. I am a member of the U.B.C.S is there anyone out there?” No answer, so he went through the channels one by one repeating that exact message. There was only twenty five channels on the radio, and he reached channel twenty-three when he was about to give up. “Hello? This is Randy Williamson; I am trapped inside a copter in the middle of the city. I am a member of the U.B.C.S is there anyone out there?” He waited, and nothing happened. Then there was some static and he could barely hear a voice. “Repeat. This is…..Red…….you copy?”
“Hello!? Hello!? You’re not coming in very clearly, please get to a window or go outside and repeat your message. Over.”
There was a minute of silence then the person repeated their message. “Hello, can you hear me?”
“Yes, Yes you’re coming in very clearly now. My name is Randy Williamson. Who is this?”
“Randy, my name is Chris Redfield, I’m a member of the Raccoon City S.T.A.R.S. Where are you at, and are you hurt?”
“No I’m fine, I’m inside a crashed copter in the middle of a city. I don’t know where I’m at. I’m a member of the U.B.C.S team. There is someone else with me but he went to get some supplies. How many of you guys are there?”
“About ten. Just stay where you are and we will come find you.”
Randy felt a wave of happiness run through him, “Great. I have one question, Do you know a Albert Wesker?” There was no answer, so Randy decided to sit back and wait for his help to arrive. He waited a full fifteen minutes before Spence had opened the door again. He only had a couple cables on his face but dropped them as soon as he seen the giant smile on Randy’s face. “We have help coming soon. Chris Redfield and some others.”
Wesker and Krauser stepped into their room where they decided to sleep for the night and Krauser just took off his vest and threw it into the chair by the door. “What if Redfield and his team don’t head to the trap?”
“Oh, they will, they won’t be able to resist the urge to get their hands on the t-virus. Need I say more?” Wesker sat on the edge of the bed and grabbed the remote for the television. “Let’s see what’s on the T.V shall we?” Krauser chuckled and stood by the window staring out. “Krauser, aren’t you going to sleep?”
“I’m dead remember?”
“Yeah, so am I. We can at least act a little civilized geez.” Krauser didn’t turn around, but Wesker could tell he was smiling.
Wesker was just sitting on his bed thinking about how successful he has been. You have done it Wesker, you have ruled this planet, if the world isn’t all dead by now, then they will be eventually. You are now the richest man there is. Wesker stood up and walked over to Krauser staring out the window with him. “Look at it, so beautiful. Yet, so dead.” Krauser said softly and Wesker turned his head left to look at Krauser. “The world that is so dead, is yet the most powerful of them all. The living population is dropping vastly. The dead population is rising rapidly, taking control of the planet. Killing anything in their path. Obeying to the only command of yours that is never spoken. ‘You eat anyone besides me’ although our flesh is warm and living, our souls are cold and dead. They believe we are one of them. They don’t bother us nor pay attention to us at all. Stumbling through every city, through every country, turning everyone into one of them.” Now it was Krauser’s turn to look at Wesker. “Once Redfield is dead, the world will reach its most beautiful point.” Krauser and Wesker just continued to look out at the setting sun.

SEVEN
Stewart piloted the copter through the city with his group sitting in the back with their feet hanging out the side doors. There were a total of four men in his group. Derbaren, Blake, Benson, and him. There was no talking amongst anyone, although everyone was wearing a headset. His team was determined, they wouldn’t talk unless it was absolutely needed. The sound of the copter’s blades whipping the wind was almost silent. And they were up in the air about 4,000 feet. So anyone or anything on the ground wouldn’t be able to see them. Stewart was flying through some clouds until he heard Benson’s soft voice in his earpiece. “Captain, circle perimeter, 100 yards circumference.”
“Roger.” And everyone could feel the change in direction from the copter. Stewart circled the perimeter about four times before Benson spoke again, “Captain active movement, two o’clock. Take us down.” The copter started to descend and his team grabbed their gear and got ready to hop out. He got only ten feet before they jumped out and landed squarely on their feet. Then he got in the air again back at 4,000 feet. He could see his team advancing into the city. There was a crashed copter of Umbrella’s in the center of the town. He waited a full three minutes before he seen some muzzle flashes from his teams’ guns. He swept down in close enough the flash the light on what they were shooting at. He knew what they were shooting at, but couldn’t determine how many. “Shit, how many are there?” he said quietly to himself. Then he snapped on the spotlight in the crowd and found at least 150 of the zombies advancing towards them. “Oh Fuck.” He put his finger on the trigger and opened fire to the crowd, just unloading hundreds of rounds of the chain gun into the crowd. He kept the copter at 1,000 feet while unleashing the rounds. Within twenty seconds, the 150 zombies were now 150 dead zombies. He took the helo down so his team could board again and took off once they did. They seen more movement from some people running out of the buildings. Stewart just killed 150 zombies in twenty seconds, so how can there be anyone alive? Stewart flew about thirty seconds before looking back at the soldiers. His eyes widened when he saw Blake facing the opposite direction of Derbaren and Benson. He was wiping a cloth over his forearm repeatedly. He has been scratched deeply. Blake looked up at his to see Stewart staring back at him with curious look in his eyes. He knew that he had been scratched. He knew he would soon become one of them. Stewart pulled out his Sig Sauer handgun and seen Blake nod at him. Without hesitation, Stewart shot him in the head and Blake fell out of the copter. He turned back around in his seat and heard Derbaren and Benson scrambling up to his seat.
“What happened?”
“He was infected.” Nothing was said after that, Derbaren and Benson went back to each side of the copter. After a minute, Stewart jerked the copter into a 180 and started flying back. No one said anything, because the S.T.A.R.S Charlie team was trained for covert operations. So talking was a no unless absolutely necessary. After a few more minutes, the copter descended and landed right outside of the town where Blake was infected. All three of them got out with their weapons and waited for Stewart to tell them what to do. “You two, take the western part of the town, split up to search if you want to. I will search the eastern half and try to find whatever it is we need to find.” Without another word, Stewart clutched his rifle and walked off. Even with his boots hitting cement, he wasn’t making any noises what so ever. Stewart’s specialties were stealth and lock-picking. He came to the first door he seen and lock-picked it in about thirty seconds.
Chris, Esther, Jericho, Enrico, Rebecca, John, and Billy stood outside staring at the copter that disappeared into the darkness of the morning. As soon as it disappeared, they ran over to the downed helo and peered inside and found two soldiers. One was dressed like an American. Once the two soldiers seen them, they scrambled out of the copter fast. Chris was first to break the silence, “Which one of you two is Randy Williamson?”
There was a second of silence, and then the man in black stepped forward. “Me sir.”
Chris stuck out his hand, “I’m Chris Redfield, and you said something about Albert Wesker. Yes I know him; he was the S.T.A.R.S traitor back in Raccoon City. Who is this?”
The other man stepped forward and shook everyone’s hand. “I’m Spence Mannings. Randy told me there are about ten of you, I only see seven.”
“We have to hurry and find Claire and Ryman.” Without another word, Chris ran back into the house not caring if anyone followed him. Everyone ran in after him, but Chris was just standing at the base of the stairs. “She was up here last. We will split up into two teams. Me, Rebecca, Esther, and Enrico. Then Randy, Spence, Billy, John, and Jericho. My team will take first floor, Billy’s will take second. Meet back here in an hour either way.” After that, Billy and his small group walked up the stairs and disappeared in the darkened hallway. Before Chris took a step, they heard something like a click. Like someone was lock-picking a door. They quietly walked to the door just a few feet away, and aimed their weapons at the door. Within ten seconds, the door flung open and a man almost flew into Enrico’s arms.
“Who are you guys?”
Chris was looking at the man, and then widened his eyes, “I’m Chris Redfield, S.T.A.R.S Alpha team based in Raccoon City. This is Enrico Marini, S.T.A.R.S Bravo team leader also based in Raccoon City.”
“I’m captain Stewart from the S.T.A.R.S Charlie team. God damn, it is good to see you guys.” He turned his attention to Chris, “How long you guys been in Europe?”
“Couple of weeks. Okay listen, we need to get out of here, there is some more of use upstairs and we are trying to find my sister and another wounded man. He was shot. As soon as we find them, we are getting the hell out of here.” Chris’s radio beeped a couple times.
“Chris, we found Claire and Ryman, we are on our way back.” Billy said
“Roger.” Chris put the radio back on his belt and walked over to the stairs without saying the word. By the time he got there, Billy and the others were already heading down the stairs. We found the S.T.A.R.S Charlie team leader.” Chris turned to Stewart, “Can you get us out of here?”
“Yes, I have a helo prepped and ready to fly, let me call my team in and we will leave. Head north.”
Chris let Stewart get on his radio and start talking to his team, while he examined Ryman’s wound. The bleeding has stopped, and Claire explained that she gave him some hemostatic. He turned back to Stewart and he jerked his head meaning that the helo was that way. Jericho and Billy followed everyone while supporting Ryman, while there was Enrico and Rebecca following those two. By the time they got to the helo, Stewart’s team was already walking slow circles around it. Stewart climbed in and hopped in the pilot’s seat.
Everyone piled in and started aiding to everyone’s health needs. On the flight to anywhere, they actually started talking about what had happened to Chris and his team during these few weeks. Only thirty minutes into their flight, Stewart called up Derbaren and pointed out the front windshield. They have found Charlie team’s missing copter flying through the air. Derbaren came back and dropped his weapons except for his knife and walked over to the door. Stewart got right below the other copter and to the left. Apparently the other copter hadn’t noticed about Stewart, or maybe they just didn’t give a damn. Just after a few seconds of hesitation, Derbaren jumped out and grabbed onto the other copter’s landing bars. And in one fluid motion he jumped to the other landing bar and flung himself up sending his feet through the open door and sending a man out the other door. The helo jerked around for a couple seconds and after it regained its control, another man fell out and Stewart could see Derbaren’s hand stick out the window and wave. After a few minutes, they set both helos down in a grassy field and everyone started talking as soon as they all got out. Stewart raised his voice over everyone’s trying to get them to shut up. “Derbaren, could you confirm that Umbrella was in that copter?”
“Yes sir.”
“What else can you tell me about it?”
“They have a suitcase made of aluminum strapped into the passenger’s seat.”
Chris walked into the helo with John, Billy, Enrico, and Jericho right behind. When they got in there, a man with a trench coat was already standing with a grin on his face. “Trent.”
“Good to see you again.” He looked at each of them before speaking again, “I assume you want what’s in the case. So do I.” At that moment, Trent walked out of the copter and disappeared. Chris grabbed the case and stepped out of the helo holding the case in front of him. Everyone was in front of him looking at the case along with him. Chris opened the case and revealed three vial tubes. One green, one blue, and one purple. “The viruses.” Chris said quietly. He looked up at the others and slightly jerked forward. He didn’t say anything, just kept looking at him.
“What is it Chris?” Esther asked. He didn’t respond. The all of a sudden, something burst through his chest tossing blood everywhere on everyone and everything. Whatever had penetrated Chris, retracted and had a hold of the case. Everyone looked up and found Krauser and Wesker standing there smiling. They didn’t say anything, but they walked off. Enrico and Billy were first ones to reach Chris.
“Chris!” Billy was looking at the gaping hole in his chest.
“You guys must get that case back. Guess what.” Neither Billy or Enrico answered just looked at him. “I got killed last month. It is the start of a new month. It is October now.” Chris let out his last breath and his head rolled off to the side. Everyone was actually crying, or damn near close. Billy was the first to make a move. He hugged Chris’s body and gently set him back down. Enrico talked first, “Tell the others hi for us.”

EIGHT
After Chris’s body was buried, Enrico started talking to the others. “What do you guys think we should do? We don’t have a leader, and we don’t know who to make it at the moment. So it is a group vote.”
Esther had tears in her eyes still and was leaning against Jericho, “You were a good friend of Chris’s. So was Billy. You guys are the leaders.”
John didn’t look upset anymore, but he also didn’t look happy. So he tried his best to cheer everyone up, including himself. “I’m hungry.”
Billy looked at the copters then at everyone. “I hate to say it, but it is a must. We can’t fly anymore. Wesker and Krauser saw us come in by copter. So if we go in by foot or ground vehicle, then we will be able to sneak in the facility better. So we need to disable the copters so no one else can use them.” He pulled out his knife and walked over to the copter’s engine and cut any wire he could see. “I agree with John, we are all hungry. We haven’t eaten in a couple of days.” Without another word Billy started walking north. Everyone followed behind, and there was some talking, but not much. Enrico jogged up to Billy, “We need to find a place to stay for the night. Everyone looks like hell. Our clothes are dirty as shit, they are torn in some places, we have injuries that need attending, and we are just plain tired.” Billy kept walking but agreed with Enrico. A couple hours later, they actually reached a city. The first thing they did was look for a place to sleep and found one only a couple hundred feet into the city. A three story hotel that also had a diner. Perfect. Everyone got into the hotel and Billy and Enrico just gave the keys to them and went to their rooms. Enrico had a room on the third floor, and as soon as he closed his door, he took a sixty minute shower. Afterwards, he felt a lot better and when he closed his bathroom door, there was banging his floor. Enrico stopped but didn’t look down. “Enrico! Keep the noise down.”
“John, that is your television you’re hearing.”
After a few seconds pause, John spoke again, ‘Oh yeah, sorry Enrico.”
Enrico smiled and left his room heading for Billy’s. He knocked and Billy opened the door acting like he was expecting Enrico. “Billy you have a few minutes?”
“Yes.”
They sat down across from each other for a minute without saying a word. Then Enrico looked Billy in the eye, “Chris is dead okay? His death has taken a toll on everyone. We are all affected by his death. Everyone is looking up to us for leadership. Everyone is now losing hope. If they killed Chris, what are the odds that we will survive? That is what is going through their heads. If they look up to us, we can’t let them down.”
“I know all this Enrico. I believe that you and I can raise their hope for survival. I miss Chris terribly, he was my best friend.” Billy wiped a tear from his eye, “You worked with him, he was one hell of a leader. I don’t think we can ever be a great leader like him. I never really got to say goodbye to him, because I never expected him to die. I just don’t feel like I can be a leader without him.”
“Billy, I feel the same way as you do, the others believe the complete opposite of what you and I believe. We can be as good as Chris, otherwise they wouldn’t have appointed us the leaders.” Billy started sobbing at this point and Enrico stood up and so did Billy, Enrico walked over and hugged Billy and they just hugged for a few minutes. Even Enrico started sobbing. “We will make them pay for what they did. I promise.”
Enrico let go and looked at Billy. Without another word, he walked out of the room. Enrico went downstairs and sat at the diner in the back corner. Not very long after he sat down, he heard talking amongst the others as they headed towards the diner. Billy was last to come in, but he seemed a little happier than when he last talked to him a few minutes earlier. Billy sat down across from Enrico and stared at him. Nothing was said between them, their eyes did all the talking.
It was now 2:30 in the morning and Enrico was sitting on the edge of his bed just staring at the door. When he heard someone knocking on his door, he jumped and took a couple deep breaths then answered the door and found Rebecca standing there. “What are you doing here?”
“I thought you might not want to be alone right now.” Enrico sighed and sat back down on his bed. “You okay?”
“Yeah, just Chris’s death, it has affected us all you know.” Rebecca sat down next to Enrico and put her head on his shoulder.
“I’m really sorry about your friend. He was a nice guy. But everyone is looking to you for leadership, you can’t let this get to you. If you do, you can get us all killed.” She kissed his cheek and stood up starting to walk out of the room. But before she got out the door, Enrico grabbed her arm and turned her around. They just stared into each other’s eyes.
Stewart, Derbaren, and Benson cleaned everyone’s weapons and set them on the table with loaded magazines set next to them. Altogether, they had three assault rifles, and eleven handguns. Eight of which are M9 berettas, and three were S&W handguns. Everyone had enough handguns for each person. Total, they had 150 rounds for their handguns and ninety rounds for their SA80 rifles. A couple of the handguns would go without ammunition at the moment, because there was only enough ammo for ten full clips of the thirteen they had. While they were finishing up the assault rifles, Rebecca and Enrico came into the room. “How’s our ammo?”
Stewart sighed and looked up at him, “Not good, we only have ten full clips for our handguns, and only three full mags for our assault rifles. We will need to make a gun run. My team can do it, you guys have been through hell for weeks. You owe it to us to let us make the run.”
“You guys know what’s out there don’t you?”
“Yes, we think you guys deserve a good night’s sleep. We will be back in a while. You will need to give us some time to search the entire city. So if we are not back by sundown, try to get out without us. But if we run into a gun store, we will be back before noon.”
“You got it. Come back safe.” Enrico and Stewart pounded knuckles and Stewart took his guys and left. Rebecca grabbed Enrico’s hand and together, they walked over to the gun table and stared at them.
“You did great Rico. You showed true leadership and came to a decision that probably won’t get anyone killed.”
“Well the S.T.A.R.S Charlie team is designed for stealth, I never met any of them until just recently. They also wanted to go and not let any of us.”
“Still, I think you did great. Let’s get back to the room.”
Stewart was leading his last two soldiers through the darkened city. He knew what was going through his teammates’ minds, because the same thing was going through his. Are Gorbin and his team okay? Are any of them alive still? There was no way to get in touch with them, so there were no answers to the questions. Stewart got to the end of the block and threw himself against the end of the small convenience store. He stole a look around the corner and found nothing moving. No bodies in sight. Nothing. The whole city was quiet, but why haven’t the zombies been outside. At least it was safer until they got to the gun store. If they were lucky, maybe there would be some sticks of C-4 and some dynamite. Right now, those odds seemed about as low as their chance for survival. Stewart and every men in his family have enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Before Stewart enlisted, his father gave him the best advice he had ever received. If you ever get in a war and your chances of survival are low, don’t go down without a fight. No matter how many enemies surround you, never give up hope. Stewart had used that every time he got in the middle of a gunfight. But here, in the middle of Germany and fighting the world of zombies, he felt like he was back in a war. Except his enemies are hungry, and don’t want to shoot him. After he looked back at Derbaren and Benson, he gave the signal for them to run across the street. After Benson had crossed, Stewart ran and caught up to them. He looked down the alley to his left and found a map hanging half way out of the garbage can. He grabbed it and looked on the map for the gun shop. Just a mile northeast of their position lay the shop. “Guys, the shop lies just one mile northeast of our position, we can make it in under five minutes if we run.” Stewart strapped his rifle over his back and so did Benson and Derbaren. All three of them whipped out their handguns and waited. “On my count. One….Two….Three!” They ran northeast without stopping, and passed several zombies on their way. Benson was first to say something about them.
“Sir, they are advancing towards the others. We will need to get everyone up to the top floor.”
“No, they are heading southeast, our hotel is south, they will pass it don’t worry.” Stewart, Benson, and Derbaren turned and fired three shots each into the crowd, and each bullet found the head of a zombie. Then they continued running in the direction of the shop. Stewart was right, they reached the gun shop in under five minutes. All three of them took a few deep breaths and got their breathing back to normal. Since the Charlie team was trained for stealth, they also had to be fast. Before they opened the front door, there were two military hummers parked outside the shop with no one in them. “Derbaren, Benson, you guys go inside and grab any weapons you can find, try for some sniper rifles, a couple AK-47 rifles, and lots and lots of ammo for our guns. Bring a couple bags if needed. I’m going to make sure these work.” Stewart jumped in the seat of a hummer and found the keys to it still in the ignition. He looked up and made a silent prayer to the man that left them. He wished him peace and turned the key. Without trouble, the hummer fired up and idled perfectly. He got to the other one and that too, had the keys in it. It also fired up great, and idled the same as the other one. After, he went inside to help Derbaren and Benson and found them stuffing ammo in some large military backpacks. Before Stewart walked up and tried to help them, Derbaren threw him a couple backpacks without looking behind him.
“Here you go captain.” Stewart grabbed the packs and smiled, glad his squad’s senses were still working great. Benson and Derbaren would throw Stewart the backpacks and he would toss them in the back of the hummers. There was a total of six backpacks, four of which held 5.56 mm ammo, and 9mm ammo, and some 7.62 mm ammo. The other two contained three AK-47s, and two shotguns. Derbaren and Benson walked out with two Dragunov SVD sniper rifles. Derbaren hopped in one hummer with Benson and Stewart jumped in the other one. Before they started driving, two men ran up to Stewart. He had his handgun in their faces before they knew it.
“Hey, we need a ride. Please.”
Stewart got out and searched them, they had no bites. “Okay,” He turned over to Benson, you drive behind me, make sure these two don’t try to kill me.” Benson nodded and Stewart hopped back in.
Enrico, Billy, Rebecca, and Jericho waited in the front room for Stewart to come back, and when they heard engines coming, Jericho, Billy, and Enrico grabbed their weapons and ran outside. Stewart, Benson, and Derbaren pulled up with two more guys. One looked Hispanic and the other was probably English. Enrico walked over to the Hispanic and everyone else grabbed the backpacks and went inside. “Where is Jill Carlos?” Everyone stopped and looked over at Enrico who was an inch away from Carlos’s face.
“Get out of my face.” Carlos replied and pushed passed Enrico. Enrico turned around and went after Carlos. He grabbed Carlos’s arm and turned him around. “Where is she? I won’t ask again.” This time Enrico was only half an inch away from his face.
“Step back.” Carlos said. But Enrico didn’t budge, “She is dead, she walked into a room with me in it, and leeches fell on her. I knew they were there.”
Before Carlos said another word, Enrico swung at him and knocked him to the ground. By the time Carlos looked back at Enrico, his mouth and nose was already covered in blood. Enrico was already getting on top of Carlos, but everyone else pulled him back. Four more people were already running out of the building. “You son of a bitch. You fucking killed her.” Enrico broke free and very rapidly landed three more punches on Carlos before he was pulled off by everyone this time. The man Carlos was with helped him up and stared at the others as well. Enrico was close to breaking free again before Rebecca got him to calm down. She took Enrico back inside and together they sat down in front of the fireplace.
Billy looked over at Carlos and the other man. Carlos was spitting blood on the ground almost every three seconds. “Carlos, I think you better get out of here before you two get fucked up. Start walking.”
Before Carlos said something, Hawkins talked first. “He told me how Jill was killed.”
“Yeah, but he knew the leeches were on the ceiling before she went into the room. He could have told her to stay, but instead he decided to let her come in. He sacrificed Jill so he could escape. If we let him in, he will sacrifice us to save him. We don’t need him.” Everyone except Carlos and the other man walked back into the hotel. After a few seconds, Billy came back out with a handgun and fired three rounds into the ground at Carlos’s feet. The two soldiers ran off in another direction. Billy came back in the building and set the weapon back on the table. Everyone was remaining quiet. Enrico is the last survivor of the Raccoon City S.T.A.R.S. Total, there are only four remaining S.T.A.R.S in the world. Derbaren and Benson came in with the backpacks and set them on the ground and began removing everything from them. John grabbed an SVD and loaded a clip into it. Enrico grabbed the other SVD and also loaded a clip into it. Then Billy, Jericho, and Kevin grabbed the Ak-47’s. Everyone had three full clips for their handguns, and sat around the table in the middle of the room. “Okay, Wesker and Krauser came from the northeast of where Chris was killed. So we take the hummers and set a perimeter around the area northeast of the city. John and Enrico will be stationed on top of some towers across from each other watching our backs. Kevin, Jericho, and I will search the next town. Stewart, you guys take the women and protect them. You guys take the hummers and patrol the next town. Questions?” No one spoke up. “Okay, enjoy the rest of your day. We infiltrate at night.” Everyone nodded and stood up looking at nothing really. Only a minute later did they move from the room and walk around. John was talking with Enrico, Billy, and Rebecca.
“Billy, what happens if it doesn’t turn out the way we expected it to?” Enrico asked.
Before Billy replied, John spoke up, “Well then it’s time to hide.”
“John, only you would be the one to hide.” Billy shot back.
“Hey, at least I have a dick.”
“That isn’t what your mother said.” Billy looked back at John and found him having half his mouth hanging open. “Well, if it worse than we expect, then we abort to a safe place.”
“Nowhere is safe Billy, except for Alaska. This means we have to find a plane. But also if we do accomplish the mission, then we will take a vacation to Alaska. We may not be able to show the world that Umbrella is responsible for this mess, but we can shut them down anyway.” They continued talking as they walked up the stairs to the second floor. In a few hours, it became 5:30 p.m and everyone met in the lobby again. Everything was quiet except for the sound of clips being slapped into weapons. By 5:35, everyone piled in the hummers and drove off. They stopped at the gun store again and John and Enrico ran inside and grabbed night vision goggles for them. There was only two, so they both needed them. They finally reached the next town by 6:15 and everyone but Stewart, his team, and the women piled out.
John and Enrico ran over to some water towers across from each other, standing about 100 feet in the air. This was much taller than anything else in the town. Enrico got to the top of his tower and lied down overlooking the north half of the city. John was overlooking the south half. The snipers were set, everyone had headsets to talk to each other. Everything was looking good right now. No zombies in sight at the moment, but also no Wesker and no Krauser. Nothing was moving in the city at all except for the hummers and Billy, Jericho, and Ryman. Enrico flipped on his NVG and looked over at John through his scope and John looked back. Enrico gave him a thumbs up and saw John do the same. Enrico watched Billy then looked about four blocks ahead and one block over to the right. He saw something move in the shadows. “Billy, hold your position. I got movement four blocks ahead of you and one block right. I only saw one thing. It moved fast, too fast for me to identify.”
“Roger that.” Enrico continued to watch the shadows and found a lot of movement. More than one figure. They were advancing to Billy’s position.
“John, rotate position 180 degrees and look around.” He heard John shuffling in the background and set his rifle to point at the shadows. Whatever those things were, they were advancing fast. Enrico took one shot and dropped on of them. John fired a round then Stewart’s voice came into the headset.
“Enrico, what is going on?”
“Sir, we got fast moving zombies advancing towards Billy’s position. They have about two minutes before they reach them,” Enrico fired another round, “We need you over here fast.” When he looked back at the zombies, he saw Billy, Jericho, and Kevin firing the AKs. Enrico fired another shot, and not even noticing how much the rifle kicked. He had a powerful rifle, but power don’t mean anything unless you hit what you are aiming at. Now they had only one minute before Billy was overrun. Enrico fired another shot but heard only a click. He didn’t think he had fired ten rounds already. Well, he wasn’t thinking about anything except to save Billy, Jericho, and Kevin. Only ten seconds. Then the two hummers came to a skidding stop halfway between Billy’s position and the zombies. The .50 machine guns mounted on top of the hummers started blazing. While Billy and the other two hopped in the hummers. When they were in, the hummers went skidding off and were heading towards Enrico and John. Enrico looked over at John and found him sliding down the ladder, so he did the same. When he reached the bottom, they both ran to each other, and then ran towards the hummers. When they reached each other, the hummers did a 90 degree skid and Enrico and John jumped in. They took off until they reached the hotel again. They went inside and kept their guns on them. “Well, the zombies can run now.”
Randy spoke up. “I don’t think the Umbrella plant is that far away anyway. I worked with them. It would be underground. The problem is, we wouldn’t be able to find it on the map anywhere. I know a place where it might be though; in the northern part of Russia.”
Enrico spoke, “Yeah, we should get to the airport and hopefully find a plane there. If possible, we can throw out anything in the back of the plane and take the hummers with us. It will be snowy, so I think we should paint the hummers a like a dark grayish black to blend in with the falling snow and blend in with the night. We won’t go in during the day for obvious reasons.”
Billy turned his head to look at Spence, “You know anything? You haven’t said much since we found you guys.”
Spence slightly shook his head and groaned quietly, “Yeah. I’m just thinking about my team. I miss them a lot. My sarge ordered my team to infiltrate the Umbrella headquarters in Russia.” Spence started to shake.
“It’s okay. We need to know everything you know about the plant. Anything.”
Spence’s voice was much softer now, “We got there and found that the outside was heavily defended by guards. My team was able to sneak inside without being seen, but we heard a lot more guards pull up outside the plant. At least 100 soldiers defend the outside now. I never thought of anything, because we were inside. We found the manhole in a closet at the back, and my nine other men went down before I did. After I got down, we heard screams and running footsteps. We together headed towards the sound, but were cut off by a zombie. Rokovich, my pointman, got jumped by the thing and was bitten into right his chest. The thing ripped off his whole right deltoid. It was a bloody fucking mess. I shot the zombie in his head and killed it instantly. Rokovich died not much after it did. I had no choice but to shoot him. After that was said and done, we proceeded farther through the plant. After about thirty minutes, we got lost, couldn’t find our way out. Then we got ambushed out of nowhere. All of us scattered and ran in different directions. Gellings, my heavy gunner, I saw him run into a closet and lock himself inside. After that, I ran around and managed to find my way out.”
“So how did you end up here?”
“I drove a pickup. I want to go back.”
Billy placed his hand on Spence’s shoulder, “Don’t worry we will, and we won’t leave until we have at least seen the bodies of your men. We will try to save any.” Spence didn’t once shed a tear telling the story, but came close to it several times. The airport was only an hour away. They could be at the Smolensk airport within ten hours.
NINE
An hour and a half later, they had arrived at the airport. There was no plane on the airstrip, but there was defiantly one in the hangar. They pulled the hummers to a stop next to the hangar and Enrico and Billy jumped out while the others kept watch. Enrico walked throught the door on the side of the hangar and slapped a button on the wall to his right. Once he hit the button, the hangars opened up to reveal an Airbus A330 aircraft there with giant lights shining on it. Everyone stared in awe for the moment, and then Enrico and Billy climbed into the cockpit a minute later and checked the systems. Everything was ready, the plane was fueled, the systems were ready, so Enrico turned the plane on and slowly rolled it out of the hangar and set it in the direction they could go. He flipped a switch and the rear hatch opened up. He and Billy heard the hummers roll into the back and then turn off. Everyone was in the plane and seated within five minutes. Stewart walked into the cockpit with Billy and Enrico, “We are all ready. Get us the hell out of here. I’m tired of Germany.”
Before Enrico started forward, Billy spoke up, “Rico, let me. You have a girl back there, if we are going to die doing this, then at least make her die with you.” Enrico got up and walked into the back and sat down next to Rebecca. The guns were set into a seat next across from where everyone sat. They were only in the air for forty-five minutes before someone appeared at the back of the giant cabin.
Stewart was already on his feet along with Derbaren and Benson. A tall man in a trench coat was standing there. Trent. Enrico spoke first, “It’s okay guys, we know him.” Stewart, Derbaren, and Benson had sat down when Enrico turned his attention back to Trent. “What is it Mr. Trent?”
Trent walked over to a row of empty seats and sat down. Everyone was sitting across from him turned in his direction, “Well I know where you guys are going to Russia and find the plant. I have some information for you. That facility you’re going to enter is very big. There is no mystery man behind the experiments there; you know all three of them. Jack Krauser, Albert Wesker, and Alfred Ashford. They never spent any time down there since the outbreak down there. I’m sure Mr. Mannings has seen the worst down there.” Spence glared at Trent with a gaze that he wanted to kill Trent right there, “You aren’t prepared for what is down there. You can handle the zombies as long as you guys use your common sense, and defiantly don’t split up. If you split up, then you will get lost and probably shoot the others for thinking wrong. There is something you guys can’t kill with what you have. I’m afraid I can’t tell you. Only myself and Mr. Ashford know. If I told you, then he would find out. I can’t risk it. But there are a few files in the facility that will help you with the problem. There is also a map, that place is big.” Trent stood up and looked at each of them individually. “Just watch yourselves and use some common sense and you will be okay down there. I am going to tell you guys again, no one will ever be truly prepared for what lays ahead. Not even they know what is down there.” Trent nodded at them all and walked back into the rear cargo bay area. Everyone stared into the back, but no one got up.
John spoke up first, “I don’t care what Trent says, all we have to do is avoid letting Ashford release his pet and we should be fine. Just stay together unless we have to split up. We just need to get that sample back.” Everyone slumped back into their seats and fell asleep.
Several hours later, they landed at the Smolensk airport. Everyone quietly piled out after Billy gave the go ahead. The hummers were waiting on the tarmac for further instructions. The plant was only about three miles from where their current position was. They knew exactly where to go, but everyone was just thinking about Trent’s words with them. After a minute of sitting there, Stewart hit the gas and did a burnout heading in the direction of the plant. Several minutes later, they pulled up to about 150 feet away from the plant with their lights off. Everything was all snowy and still snowing. All the guards were sleeping except for a few who were defiantly not expecting anyone or anything to come out or go in. They got out and quickly but quietly ran to the side window of the building. The window was still propped open from Spence’s trip. Everyone crawled inside and found just a plain dark room with a manhole cover closed in the middle of the floor. Enrico pulled it open and watched as everyone piled in ahead of him. When it came Spence’s turn, he pulled Spence back to let everyone go ahead of him. “Listen; there is no guarantee that your team is still alive. I know most of them have died if not all. If you still want to go down there, then go ahead. I just thought you would like to know.”
Spence only nodded in acknowledgment then slipped into the basement. Enrico slipped in last and closed the hatch after he had gone down. When he turned around, he was as shocked as everyone else. Trent was right, they won’t be prepared for what is ahead. Blood and body parts everywhere, bodies of some zombies, not much but some though. There is no way they would be able to hold out very long against what is in there. They drew their weapons and started to inch forward right up until they heard some hungry moans coming from all around them. “Stand your ground. Might be just a few.” They didn’t see the figures, but they saw the shadows of about 100 of them coming towards their position fast. “Run!” Enrico yelled. Enrico and Billy were pushing everyone in the opposite direction while aiming at the giant crowd firing rapidly. Everyone was running while Billy and Enrico were still firing. Enrico grabbed Billy’s shoulder and turned him around, but they didn’t see the others. They were alone. They ran to the nearest door and found it locked, the next four after that were also locked, but then they came to an unlocked door, they ran inside and found just an empty room with a couple computers and files thrown everywhere. Billy slammed the door shut and turned to Enrico.
“Where the hell did they go?”
“I don’t know man; just start looking through these files and everything. Try to find a map somewhere if possible. When we find a map, we will start looking for the others, and Spence’s men.” Enrico got on the computer and turned on the monitor. As soon as the screen came up, he frowned, “Billy, come here.”
Billy peered over his shoulder and they both found themselves staring at a map of the facility. “Someone else was here besides us Rico. And I don’t think it was Umbrella.”
“My thoughts exactly. Judging by how quick the monitor came on, I’d say they were just barely here.” There was only one way in and out of this room. So whoever it was must have heard their shots and hoped it was a friendly, so they ran out and went the wrong way. “Let’s go.” They grabbed their rifles and Billy made sure he had a full magazine in his AK-47 then went to the door. Without hesitation, Billy kicked open the door and fired a round that dropped a zombie quickly. Together, they ran into the hall keeping their eyes open and their common sense with them. Down the hall were two giant doors. They were at least fifteen feet tall. They reached the door and tried to hit the switch next to it. But it wouldn’t do anything. “Level twenty clearance required.” Billy looked over at Enrico and a gaze the same as his. “Only Wesker and Krauser could have that kind have that kind of clearance. Whatever is behind this door is not going to be good. We should find those cards and shut down this place.” After a moment of silence, they both heard some noises coming from the floor above them. Maybe the world had some survivors after all. So they both ran up the stairs that weren’t very far away. The puzzling thing was they didn’t run into the zombies that separated them from the others. But they didn’t think about it and continued to climb the ladder out of the manhole. Before they reached the top, two people pulled them out. When they looked up, there was ten United States Marines standing there with serious looking faces.
“Who are you guys?” A tall black man asked.
“We are Enrico Marini and…..Mike Kohen. We are sure happy to see some U.S Marines here.” As Enrico finished, two medics came over to them and started looking at them. “We are fine. Just tired and scared shitless.” The Marines escorted them out of the building and when they got our, Enrico and Billy got a burst of excitement. All the Umbrella guards were dead and the Marines had a camp already set up. Billy and Enrico were escorted to a walk in tent with beds. After several minutes, a soldier walked in and by the looks of the man, he was the man in charge.
“I am the colonel in charge. I will feed you and I will take care of you. Just answer me a few questions. First, is there anyone else down there?”
Enrico shook his head, “I don’t know. There were a lot more of us, but I’m beginning to think that they are dead. We got split up and now we can’t find them.”
“When did you guys arrive?”
Before Enrico answered, a soldier came in the tent, “Sir, General Mitchellson is on the radio.” The colonel got up and walked out of the tent. Within a minute, Trent walked in.
“What did I tell you guys?”
“Fuck you Trent.”
Trent just smiled, “I warned you guys. I’m going to tell you guys again, don’t go back down there.”
“Why the hell not?”
“Because three of your friends have already been killed. And I don’t want to risk you guys.”
Enrico and Billy both had pissed looks on their faces, “What makes us so damn special?”
“Your will to take Umbrella down and rescue people.” All of the sudden, the whole ground around them shook, and there was a giant explosion. When Enrico and Billy ran out of the tent, all the soldiers were running to the big fire screaming orders and other words. Enrico and Billy ran to the fire screaming more than the other soldiers. The building that blew up was the Umbrella facility.
TEN
Billy and Enrico were sitting on the edge of their beds across from each other not saying a word. Minutes later, the colonel came in again and sat down next to them. He let out a big sigh then spoke in a soft voice. “I’m sorry about your friends, but we weren’t able to find them in the ruins anywhere. Your best chance of survival is to stay with us.”
“And your best chance of survival is to stay away from us. Umbrella is after us. If they find out we are with you guys, they will kill all of you.” Enrico said not looking at the man.
The colonel either didn’t hear Enrico or he just didn’t care, but he turned his attention to Billy, “Lt. Coen.” Billy looked up at him with the same expression as when the building blew up, “Your records are clean.”
Billy finally stood up and looked down at the colonel. Then the colonel stood up and faced him. “Thank you sir.”
“No problem. We are also here to get rid of Umbrella. I want you guys to be in charge of a squad of ten soldiers.”
“We get to pick the men.” The colonel nodded, “May we ask you your name?”
“Colonel Edgar Harrison.” Billy and Enrico put their hands to their head and saluted Edgar and Edgar returned the salute then he walked to the entrance of the tent.
“Where are you going Colonel Harrison?”
“I am going to grab some dinner before these machines eat it all.” After that, Edgar turned and walked out.
They both sat there on their bunks thinking.
Wesker and Krauser stood in the small cave extremely satisfied with themselves. “I don’t think that could have gone any better captain.”
“I agree. Everyone but Coen and Marini are dead. What are the odds of them living without Redfield?” Wesker leaned back and fell asleep not caring what happened from here on. From his perspective, they had already won.
Enrico and Billy continued to sit on their bunks quietly. After several minutes of listening to the soldiers talk, they heard someone unzipping the tent. Colonel Harrison poked his head in, “Come out here guys.” Then he disappeared. They both went outside and found a whole platoon standing there with motivated looks on their faces. None of them looked scared at all.
