Here's a little speechy thingy that I wrote for my English class. This subject is very important to me so I would love to hear any of you guys' thoughts. =]
Life. This is something that everyone on this Earth deserves to have. It is what keeps this world going- everyday someone is born and just the same someone dies. No one person, no matter what position they may be in- whether they are a president or just a mere citizens has the right to take this from someone. There are severe consequences for this and most of the time this results in being jailed for life. One of the most horrific things that someone can do is kill a child or a newborn baby. Almost immediately after this is done, the person who committed this crime is met with hatred and is seen as a monster. Yet...............why is abortion treated so differently? What's scarier is that they are accepted in every day society. Why as it seen as "okay" for a woman deciding that she does not want a baby and therefore can abort it? A lot of people in this world see nothing wrong with abortion- it is the woman's right after all. They see an unborn baby as a creature or an insect. An "it." Something that is only a nuisance and therefore does not deserve to live...or doesn't have the right to want to live or die. How is a baby so different when it is inside the womb and is outside the womb? It moves and feels things just the same. Do you think that the baby is lifeless when it is inside the womb? Feel the searing pain when his/her brain is taken out of its skull? Does the unborn baby feel when it is ripped apart and sucked into a bottle? Does a baby feel its bones being twisted and torn repeatedly until it finally dies? These are only some of the terrible methods used to abort a baby. It moves and breathes just the same as you. How would you like to go through any of these things? What's surprising about these is that this would receive the worst kind of punishment ever imagined if it were done to a baby outside of the womb- or even to an adult. These unborn children are alive and did not ask to be born. They should not have to pay for the mistakes of the mother. Even if the mother does not have the finances or is afraid there are alternatives (like adoption) to getting the baby aborted or more percisely killing the baby. Consider this.
