Well, I'm doing a Nuzlocke challenge with my FireRed game. I keep seeing people do Nuzlocke comics and thought it would be kind of fun to do one (while playing the game, of course.)
Anyway, I have a dilemma: I would love to do it as a comic but I normally lack motivation for comics but I still want to do it as a comic...so, I might want to do it as a written story. I'm just wondering two things:
1. Would you rather read a Nuzlocke comic or it as a story?
and
2. Is anyone even interested in reading it?
For those who don't know what a Nuzlocke Challenge is, it's basically someone playing through a Pokemon game with a some rules that make it more difficult. The set rules are that once a Pokemon faints, they "die" and are permanently boxed or released. The other rule is that you can only capture the first Pokemon you encounter when you arrive in a new area. You can also add other rules to it, like the lack of the use of items or the use of Pokemon Centers. It all depends on the person.
My rules are as follows (though I kind of tweaked one rule):
- 1. No heal items or potions
- natural items (ie Berries) are fine
- held items are okay
- 2. Must capture the first encounter Pokemon in a new area
- After that, you can use up to two more Pokeballs in an area. If you capture no Pokemon with the three, you're hosed.
- No duplicates or those that are in the same evo line unless the pre-captured is "dead"
- Any legendaries captured are boxed permanently (but aren't considered "dead") Use separate box if you have to.
These rules will only be applied to my "main story" (until the final after fight with Giovanni). My E4 run will have the heal items and "dead" idea be tweaked to that I can use healing items and a Pokemon that faints 3 times is considered "dead." This will reflect more of a character's development stuff.
I do admit, this isn't a real Nuzlocke Challenge as I am not yet confident that I can pull off the E4 without completely dying. I've never defeated Lance in all the years I've had FireRed. ;_; (But I also haven't played the game in several years...) This is why I'm calling it a *modified* Nuzlocke challenge.
Sorry about the wall of text. I'm going to be putting up here (in a seperate world) and up on my deviantArt account and my fanfiction account. I was just wondering what form people would be more interested in reading...
