Stop.
Start.
Stop.
Start.
I thought the words in my mind as I stopped and started time around me. That was my power. It was quite the fun one as well! Being the Fourth Digit was fun, but sometimes the responsibilities were bo-ring. I sprawled my fingers and then clenched my fists repeatedly as I played with time.
"Isn't this fun?" I smiled to myself. Although manipulating time should have made me at least the Third Digit, there was one handicap to my power.
Mrs. Hayman, the Power Studies teacher talked on as her Digit students ignored her every word. Coming to class was more of a social thing for me, since I didn't understand half the lesson anyways!
I heard the soft sound of a person crying and turned to see Ayre, the second Digit, tears streaming down her face. My eyes clouded with worry. What had happened?
"Ayre-Bear, are you okay?" I inquired, leaning towards her.
"Yeah! It's just... Allergies!" she replied cheerfully.
"Oh, that's good~!" I exclaimed, relief washing over me. Of course, there was nothing to worry about! As long as everyone had their powers, we could never be hurt! We would always be safe... Always...
I wanted to question Ayre further on her allergies-I mean, what if they were really serious or something?- but she dashed out of the room as soon as class ended.
"Aww, man. I lost my chance," I pouted, blowing my bangs out of my face.
"Lost your chance for what?"
"Hmmm?" I turned to see Juliet, the 6th Digit, levitating a pencil in mid-air. She stared with bored hazel-colored eyes at the utencil.
"Nevermind."
"Oh, what I just said? Haha, it's nothing!" I answered her loudly. The pencil clattered to the floor and Juliet's gaze was set on me.
"I see," she deadpanned, gathering her stuff into her arms. Without so much as a 'good-bye' she disappeared out of the doorway.
"Eternity? May I have a word with you?" Mrs. Hayman called to me from the front of the room.
"Yes?" Bounding happily towards the mortal woman, I smiled brightly and cast a warm glance her way. "What's up?"
"I would like it if you halted use of your power during class." My eyes widened involuntarily. She knew what I was doing?
"W-What do you mean?" I stammered in reply, scratching the back of my head. That was weird. How could she have figured it out?
"That is none of your concern. All we ask is that-" The teacher was abruptly cut off by another voice.
"Is what Miss Eternity is doing a problem for you, sensei?" a casual voice asked from the back of the classroom. It can't be...
When I looked in the direction of the voice, all I saw was a mirror image of Mrs. Hayman.
"Who are you?" Confused, I raised an eyebrow and asked Mrs. Hayman's double.
"Eternity, clueless-and beautiful- as always," the mirror image said, smirking. The form morphed and turned into me.
"Two me's?! What's going on?!" I stumbled backwards a step and tripped over a desk. "Ouch..."
The person who now looked like me walked towards me and began laughing. Finally, they changed into their regular form.
"F-Fox?!" I exclaimed in surprise. "Oh yeah, you're a shapeshifter!" My cheeks flushed bright red. He must've thought I was stupid to have not figured that out!
Fox laughed and extended a hand towards me. "So, Mrs. Hayman, what was it you needed from Eternity?" he turned his bright gold eyes on the teacher, causing her to gulp. Humans really were scared of us!
"No, no, no! I-It's alright! Continue as you were!" she stuttered frantically, ushering us towards the door. "Have a good day!"
The door shut loudly from behind Fox and I as we exited the classroom. There was a moment of silence before I burst into laughter, with Fox doing the same soon after.
When the laughter had subsided, I said, "Thank you for... That."
"It was no problem. After all, saving damsels in distress is my pleasure," Fox answered with a bow. He took my hand and kissed it gently, before winking and rising back up.
I was frozen in place. My hand was tingling from where Fox's lips had touched it, and the rest of my body was unable to move. Luckily the seventh Digit had something else to say.
"Eternity, I have a question."
"Y-Yes?"
"Why was Ayre crying?" So he had seen too? I wonder if it really wasn't her allergies... But, she would never lie to me!
"It was her allergies. You know how it can get sometimes in this military base!" My answer didn't seem to satisfy him, and the concerned look in his eyes gave me a pang of jealously in my gut. Did he really care for Ayre that much?
Stop. Opening my fists, I allowed time to do my bidding. Reverse.
"Thank you for... That." Yes, my handicap was that I could only go as far as five minutes into the past. Nothing less, nothing more. Five minutes was all I had.
"It was no problem. After all, saving damsels in distress is my pleasure." When Fox bent to kiss my hand this time, I danced away and smiled. My emerald-colored eyes reflected off the fluorescent lights in the hallway.
"I am sorry, Mr. Fox, but I have some very very important business to attend to!" I proclaimed with a playful wink. Wagging my finger back and forth, I walked a few steps backwards down the hallway.
"Wait! Eternity, I have a-" Fox persisted, but I was already running down the hallways towards the dorm.
I wonder if Ayre has any interest in Fox... Might as well ask her! With that happy thought, I followed the trail I believed she had been walking towards. And if I couldn't find her, I'd just go back in time and avoid Ms. Hayman all together!
Wasn't time manipulation just great?

Hehe, I got tired of waiting for you, Squishy! ^^ I might post Juliet's post after this as well!
Hope this was alright! I gave Eternity a handicap because time manipulation freely would be really powerful. 0____o I think you should give your reality warper a handicap as well...
