♠ Juliet ♠
With my index finger I slowly pushed my glasses up on my nose. This was unnecessary, of course, considering my power was telekinesis. I, the sixth Digit, was the smartest and most capable of my co-Digits around me. Though my strength was only ranked 6, my mind's power was much stronger. Foolish humans.
The human teacher, Mrs. Hayman, continued her lecture from the front of the class. Of course no one was listening to her. Why should we, this woman's superiors, listen to what a powerless person like her has to say? Ridiculous. And the things she was spewing from her mouth were that of a kindergarten level. Who did she think we were?
I cast a scrutinizing glance about the room. The number one Digit, Jett, was absent. The moron never came to class. Even if the lessons were pointless, he could have at least shown his face. Ayre seemed to be crying, for reasons I knew not of, and did not care, either. Greyson, as usual, was rubbing his temples and looking miserable. Eternity was playing with time like she usually did. It was easy to tell considering she always opened and closed her hands repeatedly throughout the class. Racquel was gazing appreciatively into a compact mirror. She was such a narcissist.
My analysis was halted there. Why go through the effort of watching everybody else when they only cared for themselves? What a tiresome system, if I may say so myself. We were more powerful than the humans, and yet we were just as predictable. I wonder if I am the same?
Bored already with my endless and complex thought process I began to play with the pencil on my sheet up paper. Without concentrating too hard I made it rise and fall repeatedly. Mrs. Hayman sent continual admonishing glances my way, but I ignored her. Did she expect me to pay attention to what she was saying? Power Studies was such an unnecessary class. I had figured out every aspect of my power the moment it was bestowed upon me.
Telekinesis. Ability to manipulate and control objects with the mind, often in ways not visible to the naked eye. Levitating things was just a fraction of the power at my disposal. I could change the very essence of a being with just one thought. Of course, the technique wasn't perfected yet. If I had attempted to stop the beating of any one of the Digit's hearts in here, there is the slight probability that they would all die.
How saddening.
The end of class came shortly after that, right on time, as always. Mrs. Hayman called out to Eternity who skipped towards her happily. From the corner of my eye I noticed a figure crouched in the corner. Most likely Fox, the seventh Digit, eavesdropping. Well, I was in no position to stop him.
With a shrug I exited the building. Farther down the hallway was Ayre, being tailed by Greyson. I arched an eyebrow. Greyson usually showed no interest in others. This was quite unpredictable.
And anything unpredictable is worth being investigating.
My red flats made a clicking sound on the tile of the building as I followed behind the second and third Digits. Midway to the dorms Ayre turned on Greyson, her expression a question mark. Neither of them saw the girl in the double-breasted flare coat, pushing her glasses up from the bridge of her nose. Why would they? Even with my neon green hair I always blended into the background. And Ayre spotting me would be a hindrance to my careful calculations.
She continued on and soon was in the boys dormitory. This was most curious indeed. What business did she have with the notorious Jett? Greyson stood a few paces behind Ayre, and I stood quite a few yards from him. Neither of us were close enough to hear their conversation if they went inside the room. Girls weren't even allowed inside the boy's dorms. It wasn't like the human's could stop us, though.
"Jett? Yoohoo~! I have something to talk to you about!" Ayre exclaimed as she knocked on Jett's door. My curiosity peaked even further. This was definitely worth investigating.
I moved forward slightly for a better look just as the number one Digit himself opened the door.
