"And what of the test subjects?" my assistant asked.
"What of them?" I replied, looking down at the frail girl. I flattened the short lab coat I was wearing and awaited a reply.
"W-What should we do with them?" She recoiled at my cold stare. Was this really the staff I was forced to work with nowadays? I blew my dark brown hair out of my eyes and sighed.
"Dispose of them." With that statement I turned on my heel and exited the lab. Our current project was bluntly named "Digit". Chance, Jase, Slayter and I had created the current ten Digits using our powers of bestowal. We routinely performed experiments on them, ones they were not aware of after being put under a certain drug, and so far our test results were not favorable. These Digits were supposed to be machines of war, and yet they were just as rebellious and free-spirited as regular teenagers. It was quite the bother.
If the Digits were to get any more out of control, they would soon get ideas of escape. That was not tolerable. I continued walking down the hallways of the main military base and towards the Digits' class. The lessons they were taught were mostly for show, considering none of them listened anyways. Since the beginning of the project I had not wanted to run a daycare, but that was what it was ending up to be.
Of course, since there were cameras everywhere the Digits were under surveillance 24/7. We could predict their every move. I knew exactly what they were all doing this very moment, because they had been doing it since we created them. Often the Digits thought they were stronger than us, but they were wrong. We had created them. We were by far their superiors.
From down the hallway I spotted Fhyre, attempting to set up another prank. An admonishing comment was right on the tip of my tongue when I saw the boy's own bucket of goo fall right on him. I couldn't suppress the snicker that escaped my lips, and the 9th Digit's head snapped up towards the voice.
Considering I was cloaked in shadow, even with his enhanced eye sight he wouldn't be able to see me. I chuckled at his foolish attempts to find me. That was my mistake. Fhyre followed my voice and ended up colliding into me. Luckily the labcoat I was wearing had a slippery surface as to not get slime on it from the experiments.
"Did you have something to say to me, Fhyre?" I inquired, raising an eyebrow at his angry expression. Quite the scary one, he was.
"Not really," he said at last. Just as expected. The mighty Digit had nothing to say in the face of authority.
"Well then, I suggest you clean yourself up and get back to the dorms," I ordered him. He didn't even attempt to mask his irritation on his face, which amused me further. Did he think he could stand against me?
"Yeah, yeah," Fhyre finally answered me. "See ya!" With those parting words he took off down the hallway.
"So easy to manipulate," I said after he had disappeared down the hallway.
"You said it, Auty," a voice replied from me behind me. I whipped out my flame throwers and turned on the stranger. When I noticed it was Chance, the general of the army, I lowered my weapons.
"Don't startle me like that," I snapped.
"Ooh, that's a scary face, Auty. What are you doing here, anyways? Isn't there a meeting we have to be at?" Chance asked in a teasing tone. He was never serious about anything, which irked me to no end.
"Yes, yes. I was planning on finding the students, but I guess there are other things to be done." I grabbed his arm and dragged him with me in the opposite direction I had been heading previously, and towards the meeting room.
"Someone's in a bad mood today..." Chance pointed out.
"This meeting better be worth my time," I muttered.

So I was thinking of having Jase, Autumn, Slayter, and Chance talk to each other over a meeting... Haha yeah, I think I'm gonna stop for the day so you can have a say in something. ^^
