Love Me, Love Me Not

Smacking my glossed lips together, I studied my porcelain face in my compact mirror. From the almond shape of my purple eyes to the outline of my slender cheekbones, I knew I was probably the prettiest girl out of all the digits.

Of course, Ayre was pretty, but personally, I thought she was kind of slutty; leaving the buttons of her blouse halfway undone, exposing her chest. Casting my eyes around the classroom, I studied each of the other female digits. There was Eternity, her brown hair and green eyes quite ordinary. Juliet was hidden behind her whole arrogant nerd personality, that it was hard to find any kind of beauty in the girl.

Smirking to myself, I flipped my layered locks over my shoulder and angled my mirror so I could catch sight of Jett. It was only fit that the number one digit should be with the most beautiful digit in the class. Though I didn't have the strongest power, I still wasn't the weakest.

With a single look at a person, I could temporarily weaken their powers. No matter how strong the power was, I was still able to lower it's effect on me. And then, there was the other side of the story. As easily as I could lower a power's effect, I could strengthen others. Of course, I they could never obtain their absolute strongest power.

I directed my eyes back to the compact mirror, staring straight at Jett without him noticing it. I wonder how my hair looks right now? I hope Jett thinks I look pretty today... I almost laughed out loud. Of course Jett would think I was pretty; I always was.

For the rest of the class, I perfected my makeup and drowned out Miss Hayman's incredibly robotic voice. Before I knew it, class was completely over, and everyone had begun to file out of the room.

With a sigh, I snapped the mirror shut and shoved it in the pocket of my high-waisted skirt. This class was never long enough for me.

I hated the rain with a passion. If my hair even got slightly wet, it would curl up and frizz. Narrowing my eyes, I stared out the window. Everyone had gone from the classroom long ago, it was probably time for all of us to be heading back to the dorms. Raising an eyebrow, I looked around the classroom to make sure that I was completely alone. Then, padding over to the teacher's desk, I grabbed one of the textbooks from under her desk. It would have to do as a makeshift 'umbrella' for now.

Though the textbook above my head guarded my perfectly straightened hair, it didn't shield the rest of my body from the shockingly cold downpour. Skidding across the wet pavement was hard to prevent, since I was wearing my highest pair of heels. Though it made me slide even more, I broke into a quick-paced run, streaking towards the two glass doors to the entrance of the dorms. Barely collapsing into the hallway, I gasped, catching my breath as I looked around for sight of any of the other digits.

For a moment, I headed towards the male digit's dorms wondering if Jett would be there, but then hesitated, casting a downward glare at my soaked clothing. I would have to change before I could be seen in public. Turning back the direction I had just come from, I skipped upstairs to my room.
