Adventure Time!

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get out of this prison!" Ayre exclaimed after issuing jobs to all the Digits.

Her plan to escape the military base was somewhat frightening to me. I mean, this had been my only home. Where were we going to go after leaving this place? What would we do? I had to frequently stop time throughout the impromptu meeting in order to organize my thoughts, but I still couldn't stop questioning whether I wanted to go through with this or not.

In the end, my decision was to just follow Ayre.

She would always do the right thing, and so taking her lead would be alright, wouldn't it? With an imperceptible nod of my head, I switched Rhyss hand with Fhyre's and dragged him out of the room.

My emerald eyes lingered on Rhys momentarily before I exited Jett's dorm room. He was the youngest Digit, and also the weakest, causing him to be the butt of most jokes. The guys tormented him endlessly, causing my maternal instincts to tingle.

And he was just so darn cuute!

Not in the sense of a romantic relationship of course, but I had always wanted a younger brother. Any sibling at all would be alright for me, I suppose, but having a brother to argue with, mess around with, and do other sibling-like things was a dream I had had ever since I could remember.

Fhyre snapped his fingers in front of me and sighed impatiently. "Anybody there? Earth to Eternity. Eternityyyyy!" He waved his hands in front of my face for emphasis, causing me to blush.

"S-Sorry! Let's get going!" I blurted out, realizing only after I had dragged Fhyre some more that I had forgotten what we were supposed to be doing. I stopped abruptly and titled my head.

"Uh... Fhyre?"

"Hmmm?" he asked, turning towards me impatiently.

"What were we supposed to be doing?"

He slapped his forehead with his palm and muttered a few words to himself that I couldn't make out. I reckoned they weren't very nice ones either.

"Eternity, let me explain this to you slowly," Fhyre said after a long pause. I couldn't tell if he was mocking me, so I decided to take what he said seriously. He pointed to a group of troops on patrol. They were uniformed in dark colors and marched in unison.

"We are going to walk over there. You are going to stop time and take their weapons. You must do this fast because your time limit is 5 minutes, yes?" Fhyre enunciated each word clearly so that I could understand. Mistaking this for kindness, I nodded. "Then, you will give me the weapons. I will knock out the guards. Repeat. We will report to Ayre when the others' have completed their jobs."

"Oh! I get it!" I cheered brightly. Fhyre nodded, seemingly exasperated, and led me over to where the group of troops was.

"Excuse me, are you authori-" one of the soldiers asked. My partner in crime gave me a pointed look and I stopped him in the middle of his sentence with my power.

Everything around me froze and the world turned motionless and gray, though not literally. I danced through the rows of uniformed men, taking their guns as I went. Five minutes was more than enough time for me to steal the handguns they had on them.

As I was examining one of the pistols, my power's limit came and everything began to move once more.

"-zed to be here?" the guy finished his statement from five minutes earlier. Fhyre smirked as he noticed the weapons I had gathered.

He wasted no time in running through the troops' formation and knocking out as many of them as he could. My eyes could barely follow his super speed and strength, and I saw the humans were hopeless as well. Kicks and punches flew left and right, as well as the helpless soldiers.

"Are you sure this is alright?" I inquired, glancing pitifully over the groaning and unconscious army participants.

"Who gives a damn! We're going to be free!" Fhyre replied joyfully. His grin was mischievous and wide on his face, causing me to worry for a split-second. This guy wasn't guilty at all for hurting so many people, was he?

But it was alright, because Ayre had said to do so. She wouldn't do this if there wasn't some greater purpose behind it, would she?

The answer to that was no, so I skipped along to the next group of victims. Our rounds continued like that until we were sure all the patrol groups had been taken out. The experimentalists must have been in a meeting or something to have not noticed the havoc we had wreaked. It was better on our part though!

We were finally going to escape this "prison," as Ayre called it!

What adventures lay in store afterwards?
