Chapter 1- The Encounter

The preparations where nearly complete, everyone would be here soon. I just couldn't contain my excitement, but maybe should tried too. With all my excitement induced hyper-activity, I accidentally knocked a few things off the table. I quickly cleaned it up before I forgot. I was running back thru my house when I slid on the floor and went crashing into the counter, causing boxes and other such things ranging from a coffee maker, to a napkin holder came crashing down on me. I pushed it all aside and got up. I had finished putting everything in its right place, when I heard a knock at the door. They were here! I rushed to the door to answer, only to find no one standing there. In fact, I turned around, and saw nothing behind me either! I didn't know what was going on. Could this be a dream? Could I have gotten knocked unconscious when I hit my head on the way to the door. I had no clue, suddenly, I felt something, there was a hand on my shoulder. What was this? As far as I knew, I was home alone. I turned to see a glowing figure. What the hell was going on? The glowing that seemed so overwhelming just moments ago died down to reveal to me a girl, that looked about sixteen, or somewhere around that age, with silver eyes and dressed in white. She appeared to be hovering above the ground. She touched the ground and her silver hair fell to her shoulders and down her back.

"Come with me please." The angel said, offering her hand to me. I hadn't a clue what to do, so I just took her hand. The world, or lack there of flashed over with a white light. Just as before the white light was gone moments later. What in he world was going on? Suddenly I was in a strange world. It was silver, and the ground appeared to be a twilight sky. Everything was vividly light by what appeared to be the sun, but I couldn't see a sun at all. In fact, the light seemed to be coming from the ground. Where in the world, or other world, was I?

"Haru, are you gonna speak up or are you just gonna sit there like the lazy ass you are?" the girl asked. I looked to the direction she was facing to see another angel. He sat on the ground, his purplish silver hair hiding his eyes. He had a piece of pale pink fabric around his neck, resembling a scarf, but looked like it was torn from some other fabric. And his attire was... different, very different from the girls attire. He wore a white jacket that went down to his ankles. On his left arm was a long white sleeve, where as his right arm had none, and revealed a short black one underneath it. He wore a black belt, along with a black leather wristband underneath a skinny white one. He began to walk this way, his black boots no sound as he walked. Shouldn't there have been sound? What the hells going on?!

"How many times do I have to say it Yuri, its Yasuharu to you. Address your superiors with authority, not the nicknames you come up with for them. Am I clear?" by this time, the man who I now knows name is Yasuharu, was standing next to the girl. He looked older than her, maybe about 18.

"Yes sir. Sorry sir." the girl said. What did he call her, Yuri? "Still what do we do about this guy, you gave me orders to get him, now what?"

"I'm guessing you haven't told him yet, have you?" Yasuharu asked.

"No, I haven't. You know I'm not good with bad news!" Yuri yelled at whom I'm guessing is her superior.

"Fine." he looked at me "Kazumi, that's your name, right?" I nodded. "Well kid, it would appear, that, your dead." I stared at him.

"Did you have to break it to him like that?" Yuri yelled at Yasuharu.

"Kid's gonna have to learn sooner or later. Might was well just come out with it now, save the kid some time." he answered blandly.

"What are you talking about? I can't be dead! I was just in my house! Then this girl showed up and now suddenly I'm here!" I shouted.

"Twilight Sky." he uttered.

"What?" I asked in return

"This place, that's what its called, Twilight Sky, the place for the pure souls of those who died to find there new place in the next world." he explained.

"But how'd I die? I was perfectly fine a few minutes ago." I inquired.

"Remember that stuff that fell off your counter?" I nodded "Well that what killed you. You went crashing into a marble counter, which didn't do anything to help you, and then your spine was damaged when the things fell onto you. By damaging the spine, the brain stem that is protected by the spine, was damaged. With that damaged, your systems shut down. So other than the broken spine, you pretty much died peacefully." Yasuharu explained, his tone never changing.

"Do you have to be so monotone about it?" Yuri complained.

"I've been doing this for longer than I can remember, it doesn't faze me anymore." he told her, still monotone.

"Well what am I suppose to do now?!" I shouted

"Relax! Your suppose to start a new life down on Earth." Yasuharu held his hand to his ear. "Yes? What?! What do you mean outbreak?! Well round them up! What do you mean to many! Your the elite, you've been holding them for centuries and now your saying you can't stop them!? Fine! Looks like I'll have to take care of it myself." he removed his hand from his ear and grabbed both my, and Yuri's arms. "Change of plans kid, your coming with us back to Earth." he let go of her wrist and simply waved his arm in front of us. Within seconds there was a strange glowing door. "You know what's going on don't you?" he asked looking at Yuri.

"Yes I'm afraid I do. How could this have happened?" she said worriedly.

"Wasn't I suppose to go back to Earth anyway? Why did you say change of plans? Whats going on here?!" I shouted

"You are still going back to Earth, but your going back, as a Guardian." he said looking at me. "You understand kid?" I nodded. "Then let's get going."

"Alrighty! Let's go!" Yuri shouted excitedly and ran thru the door.

"Come one kid!" he pulled on my arm. And ran for the door.

"What in hell am I getting myself into?" I thought as I was pulled thru the door. One thing I did know though, is its probably gonna be one hell of an adventure.
