I sat in the cemetery. I found no comfort being here, but I seemed to always end up here. I sat on a bench, my long red hair hanging in my face and flowing down my back. The wind howled like a lone coyote. It was twilight, and also Halloween night. I found it scary to be here at night.
I used to come here as a little girl and I would always find myself at an old, old grave from the 1700s. Yes, my home town is that old. The grave had a very eerie feeling that always drew me toward it. That's where I was at this very moment. In front of that grave looking down on it. It had cobwebs all over it. I noticed the moon was out now. I shivered. I really wanted to go home, but I couldn't bring myself to do so.
Tonight was an ebony black night. Crack... Crack... Crack... I jumped and looked around. Nothing was there. I turned away and started heading home. I could hear my mom calling for me. Crack... Crack... Crack... I started sprinting. I heard something following me. I could feel my heart beat racing. My breathing quickened. I froze. I had to cross the street, but I knew something was there that I couldn't see. I turned around. Nothing was there. "I must be crazy." I told myself. "Nothing's there."
"Dakota!" I looked up and saw my mom on the other side of the street. "Come on! It's time you come in." Mom called.
I nodded. When I looked up again, she was gone. "Mom?!" No answer. "MOM?!" I screeched.
"She's gone girl." Said a rasp voice. Its words echoed in the wind. I turned around. There was a black figure behind me. I started hyperventilating. I peered around it to where all of the grave stones lay. I heard dirt being thrown aside. Then I saw it. The walking dead. They were moaning and all heading toward me. I stared wide-eyed.
I turned around to see I was surrounded. Their bloody faces right in front of mine. One reached out and grabbed my arm. I shivered at the touch, I opened my mouth to scream, but nothing came out. Then I was covered in a mass of walking dead. This must be my night of death. I thought. It went back.
I opened my eyes. I wasn't dead! I felt a throbbing pain. I got up. I was in the middle of the cemetery. I watched as they woke up the rest of their friends.
"She's up..." Moaned one of them. I felt them stabbing me to death with... I don't know what! Then one bit me. It felt like my life was being sucked out of me. Then I remembered I had my flashlight. I took it out and turned it on. They all flinched and turned away abruptly. The one that was biting me let go. I aimed the flashlight at it. It shriveled up and turned to ashes.
I turned the flashlight onto flood light mode. They all shriveled up and turned to ashes.
I sighed. "Glad that's over with."
"Not quite girl." The main one grabbed me. I screamed for help and then I was muffled as he dragged me into his grave. Never to be seen again.
