Early morning and I head out to train once more. This time not hoping to find Hollows, but to find the Arranacar that so politely introduced himself to me a few days before. Walking from the gates, things seemed to be normal, but I could feel it in the pit of my stomach that something was not right. I inhaled deeply and blew it out and I was gone. Headed for the Forest of Menos’. Shortly after, I found myself standing just outside the forest. I could hear Menos’ of many kinds howling, screaming and crying in the darkness. Just then, I heard a noise, but it was not in front of me as I spun around drawing my sword. Behind me stood two numberos from Los Noches, I relaxed my sword arm and sighed heavily.
“What the hell do you two think your doing following me?!” I bellowed at them.
It was Dixon and May, twin Fractions. Like me tossed to the side because their powers failed in comparison to the Espada. Both of them smiled at me as Dixon replied.
“We see you walk out of Los Noches every morning. We just wanted to see where you go so early.”
“Well now you know so go back to Los Noches.” I told them shooing them away.
The two just stood there as they looked on at me. Finally, seeing my attempts to get rid of them were not working, I turned and started walking into the Forest of Menos’.
“It’s your neck if you don’t make it out of here alive.”
“We will be fine Kita. No need to worry about us,” May told me.
“Hm…” was all I replied to her as I walked along deeper into the forest, the two of them lagging slightly behind.
The twins were strong if they were together, but if not neither would live to see the next day. Walking a little farther we were almost to the clearing I was attacked in a few days before. Quickly I turned looking to my right pulling my sword as a Vasto Lorde came crashing through the thick of the forest. The twins were fast on him as they darted around me and went in for the attack. I jumped back as the Vasto Lorde lunged toward me. When I landed I noticed I had landed in the clearing. I looked up seeing the moon shining high above me. Slowly I turned scooping the clearing out. Then I felt it. My attacker’s reiatsu, it was stronger than the morning before, but not by much.
“I know you’re here,” I called out to him over the screams of the Vasto Lorde as the twins attacked. “Come out!”
“Why?” his voice returned.
“We have unfinished business to tend to,” I told him.
“We do?!” His voice sounding shocked.
I looked the direction from the sound of his voice as I then heard him ask.
“Is that really why you came back here?” His voice now sounding quizzical, “I think there are other reasons for you being here, hm?”
I turned his direction and disappeared. Before the Arrancar could blink I was behind him with the tip of my blade at the base of his neck.
“What does it matter why I am here? I am here.” I told him at a whisper.
“You’re a quick one that’s for sure.” He replied almost laughing. “That bell around your neck does no justice for your enemy.”
“It’s part of me; it only makes sound ‘if’ I want it to.”
The Arrancar laughed as he slowly turned to look at me. I pushed my sword forward slightly to let him know it was still close by and not to move too quickly. Finally, completely turned around he looked me in the eyes.
“More Arrancar’s?” he asks motioning with his head in the direction the Vasto Lorde was as it screamed again.
“Yes,”
“Hm, I thought I was the only one.” he replied slowly looking toward the noise of the fight.
I chuckled softly to his statement, “You don’t get out of here much do you?”
“I don’t get out of here at all.” He replied looking back at me as the screaming finally stopped. “It seems they have finished him off. They’re not very strong… At least not like you.”
At that the Arrancar quickly tried to grab the blade of my sword as I twisted my wrist making a circular motion with the blade. Once positioned properly I brought the blade up then quickly back down, the tip of my blade slicing into his right arm as he darted from me. I watched him try to flee as the twins intercepted him standing in his path of freedom. I heard him laugh as he shook his head lowering it slightly. Just then, Dixon lunged forward at the Arrancar. He jumped back a few feet only to be met by May as she too had her sword drawn and ready to attack. I stood my ground to watch the strengths of this new Arrancar as he fought the twins.
The Arrancar lunged at Dixon, attempting to end this quickly, but May intercepted the lunge swinging her sword at him.
The Arrancar quickly stopped, sonidoed, and appeared behind May, kicking her my direction, right as Dixon jumped at him and kicked him, making the Arrancar slide a couple feet.
"Well, I admit, nice kick," the Arrancar sighed as May sonidoed above him and Dixon lunged.
The Arrancar quickly sidestepped the lunge, jumped, and kicked May out of the air, straight onto Dixon.
He ran to Dixon, aiming his hand to go straight through his chest, but May got up and blocked the Arrancar's claws with her sword. Dixon quickly got up and went to bring his sword down onto the Arrancar's head.
The Arrancar smirked and flung his hand, hitting May center chest causing her to slide; the Arrancar then grabbed the blade on Dixon's sword, cutting his hand causing it to bleed.
"This is boring me. ENTERTAIN ME!!!!" the Arrancar screamed.
The Arrancar then jerked Dixon's sword moving it out of the way. He then raised his other hand and shoved it straight through Dixon's chest.
"DIXON!!!!" May screamed as her twin brother fell to the ground, starting to evaporate.
May sonidoed to the Arrancar and started madly swing her sword at him. The Arrancar grabbed up Dixon's sword blocking a few attacks as the sword then started to evaporate like Dixon.
"What the hell is up with these swords!" the Arrancar wondered throwing the dissipating sword to the ground and looked at May, making her freeze.
"Wha..... What are you?" May shuddered.
"I am the person that kills the weak," He answered, as he countered May's last attack, grabbing her mask with his hand and shattering it.
May screamed in pain and agony as the Arrancar let her fall to the ground, holding pieces of her mask in his hand.
"That was entertaining. Hm, Kita?" the Arrancar asked me.
Before I could answer, we could hear a Vasto Lorde scream close by, then come crashing through the trees above us. I jumped back a few yards losing track of the Arrancar. Just then, the Vasto Lorde grabbed up May and ate her whole. He then looked my direction and came running toward me. Drawing my sword once more I lunged at the Vasto Lorde cutting off two of its limbs. Turning quickly I watched as the Arrancar reappeared grabbing the Vasto Lorde by the head and slammed it in a large tree close at hand. The mask on the creature cracked loudly as his head smashed against the tree trunk. The creature screamed an ear piercing shriek as I shook my head to remove the ringing in my ears. The Vasto Lorde was grabbing at his mask as I took full advantage of the situation and attacked again, my sword coming up through the creature’s center. The Arrancar was also attacking again as he ran forward ready to plunge his right hand through the crack on the creatures mask.
I withdrew my sword from the Vasto Lorde when my blade made it to his head. I landed only a few feet from the creature and the Arrancar as I turned watching the Vasto Lorde evaporate. The Arrancar stood a few feet from me as he turned looking at me.
“Not bad as a team wouldn’t you agree, Kita?”
I quickly lifted my sword and sonidoed toward him my eyes told him I was far from pleased. However, he did not budge an inch as I stopped my blade tip inches from his throat.
“Who the hell are you?! And how the hell do you know my name?!”
He stood there with a blatant smile across his lips, “My name is Ujikiyo Ogasawara,” he shifted slightly as my blade followed him. “I know your name because one of the twins called you by name.” He looked into my eyes as his smile became friendlier. “Come on. Drop the blade. I swear I won’t attack.” He slowly raised his hand, “I swear that on my master’s life.”
I exhaled hard shaking my head as I withdrew my sword sheathing it once more. Ujikiyo started to laugh softly as he turned and started to step away from me. He looked over his shoulder and motioned with his head.
“Come on. I have a place we can talk and not be bothered by the Hollows. I have a lot of questions I want to ask. As I am sure you do too.”
I nodded my head and fell in behind him as he led the way to what I believed to be his living quarters. It was a small cave that was dug beneath a large tree. Not much was inside, but a bed and a small short table he had a candle on. The rest of the day was spent as a series of questions fired between the two of us. Once we had all the answers we sought from the other silence filled the air. Every once in awhile one would speak and start a conversation, it was not long and Ujikiyo and myself were talking like long lost friends. He even taught me how to conceal my reiatsu be it slightly too fully masking it.
