Chapter 43: More of Noel Shines Through

♢Noel♢

When it got too dark for Elena and myself to see Nori took over for me and teleported us to the opening of the park. We switched right back and Elena and I walked back to the campus in the moon light. It was a peaceful night for a walk it was really nice. “How about this if we can’t find a sooner time to go see your grandmother then during midterm break we’ll go.” I offered.

“That sounds good to me.” Elena smiled at me happily.

“But if we do then during midterm break you have to come my house so my family can meet you.” I stated and her smile instantly went to shock. I couldn’t help but laugh. “My sister’s really want to meet you. Every time I call since one of them asked me about you they’ve been non stop nagging me about wanting to meet you even though I’ve told them over and over that we’re just friends.” I laughed rubbing the back of my head. “O-of course you don’t have to come. It’s really just an offer. I don’t want to force you to do anything you don’t want to do.”

‘Noel, come on, don’t wimp out now.’ Nori said sighing a bit. I could just see him face palming.

“I’ll think about it.” She answered and I felt my face heat up a bit.

‘That isn’t a full yes.’
Nori mentioned.

“I don’t care I’ll take it!” I smiled wide. “Thank you.” Was all I could get out and this made her giggle.

“Why are you thanking me?” Elena questioned looking over at me.

“It was a no, so I’m happy.” I stated and this time it was her time to blush in the moonlight. She looked so beautiful with the full moon lighting up her figure. We laughed for no real reason. “Oh tomorrow after we get out of classes if we don’t have too much homework did you want to try out the boffer swords? We can youtube styles that we like tonight and then tomorrow we can try them out and see if we remember them.”

She crossed her arms lifting up her chest slightly and I quickly looked away feeling my face heat up. ‘Noel’s having dirty thoughts~’ Nori teased me and I felt my feel like a volcano was erupting.

“That actually doesn’t sound so bad…um…are you okay their Noel?” Elena questioned and I looked at her and quickly covered my face.

“Nori’s making fun of me, don’t mind me.” I said through my hands and Elena laughed making my heart skip.

I couldn’t help it. I was head over heals in full blown crush mode with this girl. ‘Your crushing so hard right now. It’s adorable.’ Nori laughed in my head.

“Stop it Nori. You’re not helping.” I said out loud clutching my head and Elena kept laughing as we walked into the campus grounds.

We made it back to the dorm and we said our good nights to each other as we reached the first floor for the rooms. When I got back to the room Yun floated off my head and poofed into his full human form and fell onto the bed. “I’m so hungry.” He groaned.

“Alright, I’ll make you something.” I sighed and went into my closet. “Do you know what you want to eat?” I pulled an apple out of my fridge then came out and tossed him the apple to hold him over.

“That trip was a lot of fun today.” Yun said not answering my question. “You did a good job in cheering the girls up too. I could see it in their eyes that they really were having a good time.”

Pulling out my bin from under the bed I sighed. “I hope so. Elena was laughing at least when we were heading back.” I pulled out a box of noodles and then pulled another bin and got my pot out. “So you can either come with me or chill here it’s your choice.” I offered to him setting the stuff on the desk and grabbing my iPod and iHome.

“I’ll come with you. I’m usually stuck in the room all day if I don’t get up in time to be with you for your classes.” Yun finished off his apple and tossed the core in the trash can then poofed into his cotton form.

I collected everything and then wandered down to the basement where the kitchen was located. Yun poofed and was in his little form as I set the pot and noodles down so I could set up the iHome and get everything up and working before starting to boil the water.

I flicked through my music and picked the song that I was going to do my floor routine to and then started the water. I smiled and started doing a small part of my routine that I had practiced for months. I’m surprised that I still remember it as well as I do. “What’s this song?” I jumped and did some wonky ninja move at the voice. When I realized that it was Elena I quickly straightened up and laughed a bit.

‘Smooth moves Noel.’ Nori chuckled.

“H-How much of that did you see?” I asked her blushing.

“Hm…I think I’ll keep that to myself.” She smiled at me and walked in and sat down at the table.

“T-The song is Puppeteer by Max. It was the song I chose for my floor routine before I got hurt. It was between this and Anthem by Ida LaFontaine.” I answered leaning down as I unlocked the iPod and switched over to Anthem to let her listen to it. “It still works just as well with it.”

I hummed along to the tune as I cracked open the box of noodles. “Did you want some?”

She nodded with a smile. “Sure. I think this song suits you a bit more. It’s more upbeat.”

“Y-You think so?” I asked shocked. “I-I mean; I just was really obsessed with Puppeteer so I ended up picking that song. Maybe when I’m able to go home I’ll see if I can still do my routine.”

“Did you place with it?” Elena questioned as I sat down.

I shook my head, “I didn’t even get a chance to try it in competition. I broke my ankle’s before I could.” I replied looking down at the table top. “I don’t even know if I can do half of what I had in that routine anymore to be honest.” A silence fell between us.

“Hey, maybe one day you can let me see your routine.” Elena spoke up and I looked up at her shocked.

“A-ahu s-sure.” I answered just staring at her. I couldn’t believe that she wanted to see my floor routine.

“Um…do you want me to put the noodles in the water?” She asked pointing at the stove.

That’s when could hear the water boiling and I got up and poured three quarters of the box into the water. “Thanks for reminding me.”

“Geez Noel, your just one jumbled mess today aren’t ya?” Yun commented with a big smile on his face as he swung his legs sitting on the edge of the table.

“Should I flick you off the table?” I commented the corner of my mouth twitching a little from his comment.

“Mmmm, I don’t know, if you do that I may not let you sleep tonight, so choose your actions wisely.” Yun answered sweetly.

“You’re a pain in my ass right now you know that Yun.” I said squatting down and pocking him in the stomach with my pointer finger.

“But not the pain that I want to be. I’d rather give you the pain in another way.” Yun smirked raising an eye brow at me.

“Should I leave you two alone?” I looked up to see Elena smiling stupidly at me like she was enjoying this.

I grabbed Yun and held onto him behind my back. “NO, no, it’s okay, I want to eat dinner with you.”

I felt my hand close all the way, then the next thing I knew arms were wrapping themselves around me. “That’s so sweet of you to say to her Noel, but I thought I was your dinner date tonight.” He whispered in my ear. My heart raced and then the next thing I knew I was out of Yun’s arms and my foot caught the top of the chair that was directly across from where I was standing. If it weren’t for being a gymnast, I don’t think I would have been able to get my hands down in time to help me roll.

“Oh my god Noel are you okay?” Elena asked and the two of them came over to me as I laid on the floor of the kitchen.

“What just happened?” I asked really confused.

♦Nori♦

Noel…just teleported…out of Yun’s arms…h-he teleported. ‘You just teleported Noel. You just used another one of my abilities.’ I told him.

“I think…you just teleported.” Elena told him.

He started laughing hysterically, as if he wasn’t believing what he was hearing. After he finally calmed down he tried to do it again but it didn’t work. I don’t know how he did it either, but he was able to teleport. Maybe it was a one time deal for now. I could tell that he was really nervous and wanted to get out of Yun’s arms with out answering Yun’s flirting. Maybe because that was the reason why it was triggered for him.

He gave up after a few minuets and then finished up the noodles. He scooped a fair bit into his bowl and blew on the noodle before letting Yun, who was back in his little form so no one could see him was allowed to take it and he let Elena take as much as she wanted. Since he only brought down the two bowls it was easier to share with Yun so Elena could have her own bowl.

They made small talk and she helped him clean the dishes they dirtied then again they walked up the stairs together and said their last goodnights before Noel went to his room for the night.

“Ugh, I don’t want to go to classes tomorrow.” Noel sighed as he brushed his teeth.

‘It won’t be that bad. If you get bored, we can always practice mental switching while in class.’ I offered as he spit out the foam from his mouth and rinsed.

“I’ll think about it.” Was his response.

‘Always gotta stay a step ahead. It’ll keep us on our toes.’ I suggested. I did I wanted to be able to stay on top of things and our training. Even in his classes. Noel flopped down on his bed and talked with Austin for a little bit then he passed out for the night.

He woke up at his standard time, did his normally routine with out waking up his roommate and then left for class. He got there early, but someone beat him there. A particular girl that Noel seems to be getting rather close to. “Morning.” He greeted sitting down in the seat next to Elena.

She jumped slightly as the sudden voice. She must have been either in a deep conversation with Eevie or she was reading something. She did had a book open. Noel ended up switching into Elena’s class and they didn’t even know it till they walked up to the doors together earlier last week. They made small talk as other’s came into the room. They both agreed on meeting up at the meadow at 6pm tonight since Noel didn’t get out of class till just after five. When class started about half way through Noel agreed to letting us practice mental switching. We kept up with notes but you could tell the difference in my hand writing to Noel’s. It was a slight difference but mine had more of a calligraphy look to it.

Elena passed a note to us and I was the one in control at the moment so I opened it to see what she wrote.

I can tell you two are practicing. Your eyes keep changing colors and your handwriting keeps changing. Should probably slow down just to make sure that you don’t ware yourselves out. We are going to be practicing today after classes and I don’t want an easy victory against you.
♡ Elena/Eevie

I looked over at her and raised and eyebrow with a bit of a smirk. Spinning the pen through my fingers I wrote back.

Don’t worry about us sweetheart. We won’t go down that easily~♡ Meet up for lunch?

I folded it back up and tossed it back onto her desk after the professor passed us in the rows. I winked at her Then Noel and I switched back and he started working on his homework since there was some time left in class. They focused on their homework but Elena was able to toss the not eon his desk one last time before the end of class. Then she packed up and stood up. “Usual spot?” She asked and Noel smiled up at her with a nod.

“Sounds good.” Then she left the room and Noel looked at the note.

Sure we can do that. Just don’t over work yourselves for us.

They were concerned, that was cute. Even Noel smiled and then he went onto his next class. We went through the rest of the day pretty smooth. Elena and Noel seemed to have a lot of fun at lunch and all the stuff that happened between them last week seemed to be gone. It was nice to see them getting along so well now. It made me smile to be able to see them bonding. The rest of Noel’s classes went really smooth. They had a work day in his studio because they were going to have this thing called crit on Wednesday. It’s where the students look at each other’s artwork and try to help each other on what they like about it and what could be tweaked and done a little better. That’s how Noel explained it to me at least.

Once we got back to his room he got all his books out of his bag, then put a few waterbottles in there along with his fully charged iHome and iPod. He then grabbed the boffer swords as Yun landed on his shoulder and we headed out.

“Where are you going?” Austin questioned as we met up on the stairs.

“I’m going to go practice with my boffer swords. I don’t need to be trounced during the first meeting for boffer.” He lied very smoothly.

Austin chuckled. “If I didn’t have so much homework I would join you. Next time though alright?”

Noel nodded and then we said our goodbyes and we continued down the stairs and out the door. We actually made it up there before Elena and Eevie so noel got his iHome set up and started then he had Yun help him get his stretching done. The kid was just so damn flexible it was nuts. The fact that he needed Yun to sit on him to help get the deeper stretch fascinated me to no end. I wonder if his flexibility will transfer over to myself. I’ve always been pretty quick, but never as flexible as he is.

“These are so much lighter.” Yun commented holding onto the boffer swords.

“Did you just call yourself fat?” Noel laughed and Yun actually blushed.

“No I did not. I’m saying that these are no where near the correct blade weight.” He huffed.

‘He can be sensitive about that because he knows he eats a lot.’ I commented.

“I noticed.” Noel responded I could hear the smile in his voice. “Everything will be fine Yun. Eevie and I are just looking to figure out techniques. Shit I didn’t look anything up last night.”

‘Don’t sweat it. Just do what comes naturally to you.’
I told him not nervous the least bit about letting him forget looking up sword fighting styles.

“B-but the only sword styles that I can come up with are the ones from anime. Like Sword Art Online.” And he lost me.

‘What’s that?’ I questioned tipping my head a bit.

“Anime is a Japanese art form that a lot of people consider cartoons. But I can assure you that these cartoons are not something that kids should be watching until they’re older. They normally have very in depth plots and character development. There’s so many layers to them that makes you ask questions and makes you want to keep going back to see what happens.” He explained to me.

‘It sounds interesting actually.’ I noted to have him show me some of this stuff called anime at some point.
