♢Noel♢
I stood there after closing the door with the book in my hand. ‘Good thing we switched at that moment.’ Nori commented as Yun flew out of my backpack and flopped down on my bad.
“Noel can we be done with classes for today?” He whined.
“We haven’t even had lunch yet though. And it’s only two more classes to go. Do you think you could hold in there just a little longer?” I asked him as I walked over to the bed.
“Go on with out me. Except for lunch come back for me for that.” I chuckled a bit when it seemed that lunch was the only thing that he heard.
‘switch for a minuet.’ Nori said and I agreed so we did a partial switch just in case.
“I would let you do that, if it wasn’t for my suspicions with Austin.” Yun jumped when he realized that it was actually Nori and not me. “Seriously you really think that I would let you get away with it that easily?” Nori snickered crossing his arms. “I go through classes with Noel and until I can figure out more so do you.” He muttered grabbing Yun and then shoved him back in my bag along with the book then zipped it shut. “There we go.” Nori laughed a little and switched back with me. ‘Now you have a class to get to so let’s get going.’
“R-Right.” I nodded and opened the door to Austin with his key card out and about to open the door.
“Noel…what are you doing in the room already?” He asked a bit confused blinking.
“I had a test today so I got out early. But I’ve gotta go to my next class.” I said moving around him. “I’ll see ya later kay?” With out getting an answer to him I ran out and down the stairs to my next class. It was my writing class and all we were doing was working on our papers. I should be able to crank it out in class, then I don’t have homework for bio, I won’t have homework for art till tomorrow, so all I should have is reading for my English class. I can do that during lunch.
“Do you think that he heard us talking to Yun?” I asked a bit worried as I walked into my class and sat down pulling out my laptop.
‘I would have sensed him… But that’s the thing from time to time now I can’t seem to sense him till he’s practically right on top of us…’ Nori commented I could tell that was his thinking voice.
“Should we talk to Eevie and Elena about it?” I asked as I put head phones on to make it look like I was listening to music as I typed.
‘We’ll have to go somewhere for us to talk with them. I also want to get in touch with one of my siblings and see if they can’t do some digging about the history of this place. And not just the history that’s known to humans. I mean the other underground history. We need to know more before we can make any assumptions.’
“Alright…but how are we going to get a hold of Ken’ichi or Aiko?” I sighed a little as I typed away as the class stated.
‘The only thing that I can think of is possibly sending Yun home.’
“Wait…Eevie knows spells. Maybe she knows a spell that can let us send a message.” I offered with remember what Elena showed me last night.
‘That’s right she can…and then maybe she can have someone else on her end also look some stuff up and we can combine information.’
“So maybe at lunch we can talk to them about it.”
‘I don’t think that it’ll be that easy. I’m sure that Eevie will want something out of it in exchange for her helping us. That’s how all of us demons work. Especially when it’s not family. There’s always a price. And I think you know what that price will be.’
I took a slow deep breath. “Only if you want to and are will to know what clan you are.”
‘No, it’s we, not just me. We have to agree on this together.’
I smiled a little bit. I was being included as a part of a family. “Okay…but how do we even bring it up?”
‘I’ll think about that. You work on your paper and get it done.’ I nodded a little. So light that no one could see if and I focused on the paper. Like I thought I was about to get my first draft done by the end of class. I’ll have to look at it tomorrow so I could take a break from it.
My next class was right down the hall, but I went to the bathroom and opened my bag. Yun gasped for air when we got into a stall like he had been holding his breath the whole time.
“It took you long enough to open the bag.” He complained and I couldn’t help but chuckle.
“I opened the bag and kept it open.” I responded.
“But I couldn’t come out of the bag because there were so many people in the room.” He complained.
“No one other then other people who are bonded can see you. And to be honest I haven’t seen any of the other’s that were bonded in my classes.” I mentioned. “So if you want to sit on my head or something during English your welcome to.”
“But you move your head up and down so much I can’t sit on your head…” He grumbled and sunk into the bag a little. “It’s probably better off if I just stay in the bag.”
‘Yun can be a real handful sometimes.’ Nori sighed and I laughed lightly.
“Then let’s head back to class and then it’s lunch.” I smiled and he perked up.
“Okay. I think I can make it another hour in there.” Yun said confidently like he was going to battle.
“Sounds good.” I smiled and he popped back into the bag. I didn’t zip it up all the way just so a little more air could get into the bag and then I went to class. Class seemed to fly by and before I knew it I was sitting at the usual lunch table in the dinning hall with an apple on my lap as it was being eaten by Yun and we waited for Elena and Eevie to get there.
“Maybe she had a test in her last class.” I suggested as I ate lunch.
“Noel I’m done.” Yun said and I reached down and grabbed the core off my lap and set it on my napkin. Then continued eating.
“Hey, sorry I’m late.” Elena said setting her bag down next to her usual chair.
“It’s okay. I figured you had a test or was talking to your grandmother.” I shook my head with a light smile.
“I’ll be right back.” She smiled back and then went to go get food. She came back with a sandwich and a salad. “How were your other classes?”
“They weren’t too bad. Just worked on my paper in my writing class and it was note taking and reading in my English class. So just one more English class with a test and then I’m done for the day.” I answered “How about you?”
“My classes were good. It sounds like your pretty open today.” She smiled at me and I nodded.
“I actually want to ask you something.” I started.
“Sure what’s up?” Elena answered.
“Does Eevie know some sort of magic that could send a message back to the demon realm?”
“Well…yeah, but I don’t see why…” I cut her off.
“Can you send something to the demon realm for us?” I took a deep breath in. “If you two can do that for us we’ll show you our bonding mark. We’re willing to let you two know what clan we’re from.”
She looked like she was about to answer or at least say something, “Can we sit with you two?” I looked over to see Austin and Alexa holding a plate of food and a drink.
“Of course.” Elena smiled. Alexa sat next to Elena as Austin sat next to me.
‘There it is again. I didn’t sense either of them till they said something. I know that I’m not losing my touch. Just last week I was able to sense either of them from a mile or more away. I didn’t think that the same thing would happen with Alexa though…’
“What’s that book?” Austin asked as he burshed my notebook away from the cover so he could read the title.
“Oh it’s really interesting. I found it with Elena while we were checking out the library’s mythology section.” I answered.
“What’s it about?” Alexa asked before taking a bite of her taco.
“It’s legends about the ancient noble demon clans that keep order within the demon world.” I smiled, “Well the lore of it anyways. If someone who doesn’t really believe in the stuff read the book I’m sure that all they would do is laugh. It’s a good read actually. I didn’t think there was a thing of nobility in the demon realm or that there even was one.”
“But isn’t it said that demons eat human souls?” Austin questioned picking up the book and flipping through it. I didn’t snatch it away because I didn’t want to look suspicious.
“I heard that they eat human livers.” Alexa said in a shushed voice.
“You’ve gotten a hold of some of my anime when I wasn’t looking haven’t you Alexa?” I asked and we all laughed.
“What’s got ya so into this stuff all of a sudden?” Austin asked me setting the book back on the table.
“I’m trying to get ideas for my final paper in my writing class.” I sighed as I felt Yun hide himself in my button up shirt.
“It’s only the second week of classes and your already thinking of your finals?” Austin snorted.
“It’s a 15-page paper and I already asked her if I could write on the concept of the story I was going to write but that got turned down so I have to figure out something else.” I groaned leaning back in my chair crossing my arms over my chest.
‘Good save.’
“Thanks.”
“Oh do you mean that drawing that I saw in your sketch book of you and that other character?” He asked curiously.
‘I told him the picture you drew of me was you creating a character that would represent you in a story.’ Nori told me.
“Yeah, but that drawing was as far as I got on it. I’m stuck on what to really do with the story.” I responded looking over at him.
“Can I see the picture?” Elena asked.
“Me too! I wanna see it.” Alexa chimed in and I couldn’t help but laugh a little.
“Sure.” I smiled and leaned down and got my sketchbook out. As I did Yun took the chance to jump into my bag and use the noise I made with the sketchbook to hide the little thud he made. When I got back up Austin snatched my sketch book away from me. “H-hey give it back.”
“The girls need to see another picture you did first before that one.” Austin said skimming through my sketchbook from the back to find the last page I drew in it. “Here it is.” He said and opened the book to the picture that I drew of Elena last night.
“There gonna see the clan symbol on the paper what do I do?” I asked panicking a little bit as Alexa awed at the picture and I felt my face heat up.
‘They’ll probably want to confirm it later, so hopefully they won’t say anything about it till then.’
“This is really good Noel.” Elena said softly which only made me blush more.
“Th-that’s enough of that.” I stumbled over my words and grabbed my sketchbook and flipped the page to the chibi version of myself and Nori. The arrows that I light drew yesterday was still there. I breath caught in my throat as I couldn’t look at Elena.

Noel did fairly well at covering saying that he didn’t even know if that was what he wanted as a character for himself, but he also didn’t really have an idea for the story. Then he was able to put his sketch book away. By that time they all had to finish their lunch fairly quick because they all had somewhere they needed to go. Noel had his last class that he had a test in. Elena shot him a text asking for us to meet up with her and Eevie after classes were done. As Noel worked on his test I sat there thinking.
I should have been able to sense them not a problem. Just why couldn’t I? Come to think about it after the screamer incident and we got back from visiting my family there hasn’t really been any demon action. When I was sense one before I could pin point it, it was gone. Maybe trying to send a letter would be too slow. If I could just telepathically contact Aiko directly… with Ken’ichi being busy with whatever dad’s got him doing she’ll be the easiest one to be able to move around and figure out info for us.
Noel finished his his in class essay that was his test. Though it took him all of class to write because of the word count that he had to write and the fact that he kept erasing and rewriting his sentences it was kind of amusing. But he finally finished it we switched mentally because he wanted me to read it over to make sure that it sounded alright. Then we switched back and he handed it in and left. Pulling out his phone he text Elena to come to his room when she got out of class then we went back to the room. Austin wasn’t there so Yun came out of the bag and poofed to his full size and laid on the bed.
“Oh bed how I’ve missed you so much.” He said happily.
“Oh it wasn’t that bad. We just want to be safe. If nothing bad happens we’ll let you sprawl out and won’t have you come with me to classes unless you want to.” Noel compromised with him. “Just please hang in there with us till we can get more info.”
“Fine.” Yun sighed heavily sprawled out.
“Because you have such a hard life.” Noel chuckled and got out his laptop and everything else in his bag. Then he sat down in his desk chair and his head lightly tapped on the book. “Why does everything have to be so complicated.” He groaned.
‘Hey come on now try to relax. Once we can get on contact with Aiko then we’ll do some digging ourselves.’ I tried to reassure him well tried to anyways.
“I know we’ll figure it out, it’s just frustrating that we don’t know what the hell is going on and why it seems that Austin is interested in things that I draw and why he made that expression. Was it because of the bonding mark that was in there?”
‘There’s got to be a lot more to this place then just the bonding for demons and humans. I just know it. I have a feeling that there’s got to be more to this place.’
Before Noel could answer there was a knock on the door and he got up and answered it. “Hey.” He smiled a bit as Elena stood in front of us.
“So…where did you want to go?” She asked right off the bat. Noel grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the room and closed the door behind him then locked it.
“Sorry I was going to say the roof at first, but in here will probably be better.” Noel said and took a deep breath. “You saw it earlier today in the drawing, but we figured that you two wanted to see the real thing to know if that was the actual bonding mark or not.” He took off his button up shirt so he was in his tank top then grabbed the button on his pants and slipped the button out of it’s little button hole.
“N-Noel!” Elena blushed as he unzipped his pants a bit.
“I wear skinny jeans it’s the only way your going to be able to see all of it with where it’s located.” He laughed lightly and grabbed his rim of his pants and boxers on the side where I had placed his bonding mark and pulled them down while he lifted up his tank top and showed them the bonding mark. We both waited there a breath caught in our throats. How fast was Eevie going to be able to place the clan?
