It's really girly in a way, but has a great storyline and laugh-out-loud moments. Some of the characters have lolita dress (Utau). Mostly it's about finding yourself; being who you want to be. And the main character, Amu, makes a wish to be who she wants to be, and thus activates her heart's egg(s) which contain her Guardian Charas who help her through rough spots. She also protects a powerful egg, the Embryo.
to tell you the truth, i haven't ever read rozen maiden manga, nor seen the anime. i just know the little that i do from what my friend told me. she said that she wanted to cosplay shinku from rozen maiden when i told her who i was cosplaying. she told me that there were these dolls fighting in the alice game, but i had to research to discover who shinku was.
What the heck?! That's hilarious! Seriously, lol. "Alice, you're gonna win, Alice!" Did they come out with the last installment in the series? I don't usually do much fanart, more OCs and randomness.
when i cosplayed lia de beaumont, some guy must have mistaken me for Suigintou from rozen maiden because he kept yelling "alice! your going to win, alice!"
No, not yet. But my friend and I are going to an anime convention and we're probably going to cosplay. We were thinking about Sugar Sugar Rune, but it isn't known too well....so I'll have to talk to her about maybe a different one...Rozen Maiden maybe? Souseiseki and Suiseiseki? Maybe even Sakura and Tomoyou from Cardcaptor Sakura.
i helped my sister with her legend of zelda cosplay. she dressed up as link and i made the pouches, the stitching designs and i modified the tunic. (that was rather easy)
my first attempt at cosplay was dressing up as edward elric from fullmetal alchemist. we bought the pants, jacket and coat from the good will. we just modified them all but it was a disaster because thats before we knew how to sew well.
for an anime convention last year, i cosplayed lia de beaumont from le chevalier deon. my mom sewed the base of the dress, i added the false under skirt, trimmings, and designs. (it was very difficult!)
i plan to cosplay character/s from pita-ten, final fantasy and code geass.
i have sewn a few bonnets and headdresses, a skirt, a blouse, a dress, a cape, bows, many cosplay things and half of a chinese shirt. my biggest project was shinku cosplay from rozen maiden that i made for a friend.
Theres the Readers Digest Complete Guide to Sewing and Simplicity: Simply the Best Sewing Book. I'm not sure if those teach how to sew intense patterns, but after starting a collection of patterns, its quite easy to modify them. For example, pattern A has a blouse you like, but you like the sleeves in pattern B. Use B sleeves with A blouse. I always modify patterns
basic sewing isn't hard. i think maybe you just did embroidery? i dont like doing embroidery. you can make a decent lolita dress just by knowing how to read a pattern and know how to work a machine. i learned how to do all of that in one sewing class that lasted two sessions.
But is sewings the clothing hard? I've only once sewed something in my entire life and that was in preschool and we just had to put a ton of threads into a pillow. It's cute, but I don't think I could make a dress.
ebay may not be the most reliable place to buy lolita, but i have bought (and still do) from momo's fairytale world, and their stuff is good quality. however, some of the pictures are stolen from other sites. (momo sells a replica of that dress)
anna house sells borderline affordable clothes that are actually cute.
making clothes is actually the cheapest way to go if you have a sewing machine.

I've only read two of the books because of my friend's obsession. They WERE good, but I prefer Shugo Chara more.

You finished it? I want to get a Shinku cosplay sometime. My friend won't let me cosplay her as Hinaichigo from Rozen Maiden. She'd look so cute.

What have you sewn before? A needle + me = death. I have always hated shots, needles...anything pointy.
