(WARNING. RANT TIME.)
I could care less what anyone else says. I ADORE the fifth Generation of Pokemon. I also love the other Gens, (Johto is my fav) but really, I think a lot of people are stuck in the past and won't embrace new designs (and frankly, more complex and more imaginative desgins)
Take Muk VS Garbodor for instance. Poison types are my favorite Pokemon type, and I think Muk is awesome, but Garbodor is so much more interesting and such a more complex design, and kinda cute but I know that kinda weird and probably just my opinion~ People may say that Garbodor is ugly, but no one is saying that about Mr. Mime (though he's a freak of nature) or Diglett and Dugtrio (A ground-bound mole turns into... Three ground-bound moles? WHAT?)
If one more person calls Oshawott (whom I ADORE) a stupid clown I'll shove they're faces back at Mr. Mime.
And names? Really?
Take Ducklett. Stupid name? Too simple? Um, not really. Psyduck? No one complians about that name. And Slowpoke??? We gotta get out of the past, man. Seriously.
Simplicity? Don't like Klink? Or Foongus? Because they're too simple??
Look at Voltorb for goodness sake. My gosh that thing is simple. It's a friggn' BALL. you have GOT to be kidding me. Don't make me do back to Diglett.
And yes I like Charizard (defineatly not my favorite, honestly I think it gets too much love. More of a Blastoise person~) but have you SEEN Hydreigon?! IT'S SOOO COOL. Three headed dark dragon FTW.
Unoriginal?
"What the heck is up with the retarded ice cream cone?!" I'll admit I didn't like Vanillite much when I first saw it, (still don't enjoy the evos too much) but I think it's super cute now. And to backhand that statement--A sunflower? A snake made of rocks? A seel with a horn? A pile of purple GOO??! Some of the ideas from the past, if presented now, would probably get more hate than you'd realize.
Not haten' on the first gen. Not at all, I love all (well most) of the Pokemon from gen 1 to gen 5, and love the first gen a lot for all the childhood memories. I grew up with it too, you know. Dont' try and say I didn't feel the same way cause I do. Just trying to make a point that all your agruments about these new ones being stupid are kind of lost because what your complaining about has been right there the whole time! But seriously guys, it's not that hard to see the haters are just holding onto and glorifying the past and just making the rest of us feel bad for liking what's new. It's not that different from what they're doing currently, and I say, bring on more Pokemon, you guys are doing great!

But then I read more about it and it’s got a similar story to Mewtwo. It was a bug type who was a feared hunter a long time ago, but died off. Scientists for Team Plasma revived it and made it into a machine. N, the leader, thought it a waste of time and an impure Pokemon, so he ordered it destroyed. It kinda made me feel really bad for it, so that’s why it’s my favorite Legendary for 5th Generation)
