It's About Time!

I finished finals today, which means I am now officially done with classes. I feel like I’ve been in school forever and a day, seriously. So it’s nice to finally be done. All I have left is to finish up my Thesis by about the middle of July so I can graduate in August of next year. I’m about four fifths done so I don’t anticipate any issues with that. Not only will I have no classes, but I’ll still only work part time until I graduate. So lots of time to work on finishing and polishing it up.

In other news, yes I am married now. Every time I enter chat people keep whispering to me to ask if I am. So here it is in a post, yes its official. I was married on November 28th of last month. =P I’ve just been busy with stuff upon returning and haven’t gotten around to making a post yet.

So to sum things up I’m going to give you a short list of events over that long Thanksgiving weekend. Lists are always fun, yes?

  • Wednesday the 25th, flew out where Nathan’s relatives are. With it being Thanksgiving weekend, the airport was absolutely mobbed.

  • We arrived and were picked up by his relatives who decided that we should both stay at different homes. Not just different bedrooms but different houses. lol
  • Eventually we all met up at his aunt’s place since she had the largest home and therefore the most space to accommodate everyone for chatting and the madness of making food for Thanksgiving.
  • Tables and folding chairs had been borrowed from the local church and the guys rearranged furniture and set up tables and chairs for the feast. We didn’t leave to go to our separate sleeping places until after midnight.
  • Nathan and I got up early the next day and helped out with setting more things up. There were, no joke, close to seventy people there. @_@ With people bringing food and kids running everywhere, it’s a wonder we managed to have food while it was still hot. lol
  • Fortunately most of them got smart and used paper plates for nearly everything so it made a certain amount of cleaning up way easier.
  • Then after several hours of crowed insanity and talking, some left to take the kids home as it were and the guys got the fun of returning the tables and chairs to the church.
  • The rest of the day was spent chatting and talking since a lot of these people had never met me or my family before. It felt like an interrogation at times. XD
  • Finally got to bed, again in separate houses, and got up early again.
  • Nathan’s family decided to plan Friday for us. So one family insisted on taking us out for breakfast, another for lunch and then later yet another group took us to dinner. @_@
  • With it being black Friday, everywhere we went was totally crowded. It was nice to get to visit with people in smaller groups though. The Thanksgiving madness was fun but keeping track of so many conversations was rather tiring.
  • Later that night more of my relatives showed up via the airport since they were coming for the Wedding on Saturday. Until then, only my mom and dad were there.
  • Nathan and I spent part of the evening double checking everything for the Wedding tomorrow. Since you never know if something is going to not be set up like it should.
  • So Friday night when I’m back and trying to sleep, it hits hard. Tomorrow is the day. I had such a hard time sleeping. Didn’t matter though, I was still wide awake the next day.
  • Family conspired to keep us from seeing one another before the moment. So I was whisked to the group I had made arrangements with for doing my hair and such. Honestly, so much time spent just getting that bit, along with my dress, just right.
  • All of the flowers were there, along with the cake like they were supposed to be.
  • I think I about died from nervousness during the entire thing. Nervousness and happiness (thwacks a certain cat in advance for the ‘softie’ comment that will come).
  • It all went well and then later on, after the reception that was held, Nathan and I were taken, via limo, to the hotel where we had booked a room, there was no way we were staying with relatives at that point. lol
  • Flew home the next day, which on account of the Thanksgiving holiday, was also mobbed like crazy. Honestly, flying on a holiday sucks. =P
  • Returned to work and school on Monday.

And that is a very brief summary of how things went. It was absolute chaos and yet mad crazy fun at the same time, though I’m really looking forward to our honeymoon which will be next week. Nathan and I will be taking a cruise from LA to Mexico next week. So I will vanish from the 21st to the 27th.
