I'm sure that most of you have heard of the odd friend or acquaintance that you wish your friend, date or fiancé didn't have. I see it as unavoidable since everyone knows someone that has personality quirks they don't care for. Or they get startled by someone exhibiting behavior they were unaware of.
Well that was my morning a few days ago. I was over at Nathan's and one of his friends from Idaho was in the area and wanted to meet me. It was one of those out of nowhere calls and I was still asleep when it happened. So I get up to realize that we have a guest and that said guest was in a disagreement with Nathan.
It didn't make any sense to me since I had never met this girl but she apparently decided, based on my picture, that I'm anorexic. *facepalm* Now I know I'm small, since I'm only 4'11 and about 96 lbs; but seriously, how does that automatically equal anorexic? o_O I'm short and my body frame is what you would consider petite. So though my doctor wants me to be between 100-105, he doesn't consider my weight a problem.
The whole thing was just painfully stupid with the way she was attempting to lecture him, telling him that I was going to screw his life over and such. I won't bore you with all of the details, but it honestly ticked me off. There was no basis for her attempt to meddle in our business and she certainly wasn't qualified to make such a diagnosis.
So while I was wondering if I should do anything or not Nathan finally told her she should leave since she kept insisting she only wanted to help. His tone of voice was not friendly at that point, and when she asked when to call back so she could meet me, he told her to not bother. I was not surprised since it was obvious to me that he was angry.
Anyway, I found the whole thing rather stupid but it didn't upset me as much as it did Nathan. I'm used to people making stupid assumptions about my size, though that's the first time he's seen it. I just find it ironic since people will find a reason to pick someone apart and being smaller doesn't make you exempt, not by a long shot.
