Didja Miss Me?

I'm back from Mexico. I had a blast!! Oh my God it was so much fun! But it was so flippin' hot! The building we stayed in didn't have air-conditioning so it was like 100+ degrees even at night so we about died. I barely got any sleep. But it was a really good trip. I'll give an overview of what happened tomorrow when I feel more like typing and less like sleeping. I just figured I'd like you guys know I'm back home safe and that Mexico was super fun. I'll try to pick out some of the better pictures I took, too, so you guys can see some of it!!

Right now the only really bad part is after our flight change [we took a plane from Mexico to the States and then from that State to one south of ours so we had to change planes] our baggage didn't make it to the plane. So all 15 of the people in our missions group didn't get our luggage. SUCK. Supposedly our stuff is supposed to arrive early this morning because the airport is sending someone out to bring our bags to us...but we were all still really pissed. So hopefully my stuff will be back soon.... :/

Early, way too early.

It's 4 o'clock in the morning and I've been up for about half an hour now. We have to be to the school in about forty minutes. Our plane leaves at 9, so that means we have to be to the airport at 7...goodness, this is so early in the morning. I didn't really sleep much, so I'm a little hyper/tired. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep in the car/plane/during our 6 hour long lay-over waiting for our plane out of the country.

This will be the last time you guys hear from me in a week! I'm sure I'll have some funny and sad/touching stories when I get back.

Alright, everybody, have a great week!

Chat, Trips, Ect.

So, due to my being immensely bored over the last couple of days, I've spent some time in the community chat. And I've come to realize how few people I know here nowadays. I used to know a lot of people back in the time of myOtaku, but most of my friends stopped using this site after the change to Worlds... So, I've been trying to be social and talk to people in chat, but I'm ignored. [laughs] Whatever. It's still fun to get into some of the conversations there.

In other news I leave for Mexico in about 18 hours!! I'm so excited! We packed most of the toys we're giving out to the kids down there last night, which was kind of fun and mostly tiring... I'm totally scared about flying now thanks to my oldest friend. She said last time they were coming back from Mexico they flew back in a thunderstorm and she could watch lightning jump from cloud to cloud outside her window. If that happens, I'll probably be using some very dirty words and freaking out.

I'll be back by late next Saturday, so I'll probably be blogging about the trip when I get back.

I'm so bored right now, but I refuse to really do anything construcitve today. I'm going to laze around because I doubt I'll get much rest this coming week...

One Week

Alright, a week from now I'll be on a plane to Mexico. Wow. It will be my first time flying and truthfully, I'm terrified. I know that the chances of dying on a plane are next to none; but I'm still just a wee bit apprehensive. And my very sensitive, caring friends know this so they'll probably be saying such reassuring things as, "Oh my God, is the supposed to make that noise?" or "I think I just saw a spark come from the vacinity of the wing!" and quite possibly "Oh my God, we're all gonna die." Yes, my friends will probably do exactly that...

In other news my summer's going pretty well thus far. I really haven't done much in the last week since school got out. Had a couple of places to be, but other than that I've laid around in my pajamas, messing around on the Internet. I just got a message on Facebook from the lady who runs the dance studio about my possibly working next year and I know for sure that I'm going to do shoe-fittings [HOORAY!] in August. I did this last year, and I'm not entirely sure if I whined about it here or not. But the job is definately whine-worthy. Nobody should have to sit around a dance studio, trying to get little kids' feet in dance shoes. Little kids' smelly, sweaty, dirty feet. NASTY. But I got paid for it, so whatever. And I'm not sure what classes I'll be assitant teaching this year, the schedule for classes isn't ready yet so I don't know. I think I'll probably be doing ballet/tap again and maybe a ballet/tap/jazz class. That would be interesting...

Ok, I'll shut up now. [laughing] Hope you guys are having a good summer!

Dance.

I'm driving over to the dance studio in a little bit to pick up my DVD of the recital and to register for classes in the fall. I somehow got myself talkd into doing pointe again this year. I didn't do it last year because of a scheduling conflict. But I can do it this year, and because it's my senior year I'm going to. My mom really wants me to do it...she thinks I look beautiful when I do it. Which I kind of wonder about, because how I could look beautiful doing anything is beyond me. But I digress. I wouldn't have done pointe this year if not for another friend of mine. We really got to know each other over the dress rehearsal/recital weekend because we both have a common dislike of the prep school girls who attend classes at the studio. We're both a little different from the polo-wearing princesses, seeing as I've often been labeled emo and she's just so exuberant and happy and outgoing and kind of weird that she doesn't fit the mold, either. Which is good. She's a lot of fun to hang out with. I finally had to track her down of Facebook and talk to her to see if she was doing pointe, because there was no way I was going to take a class with the three preppiest girls in the studio if she wasn't there. And she is, bless her heart. So I'm going to do it. I miss dancing on pointe anyways, even if it's with the Prep Princesses. I usually just ignore their crap and gossip and the random taunts they throw at me. It does get annoying and disheartening after a while... I would love to just give one of them a black eye, but that wouldn't be the Christian thing to do. Darn.

Wow, that was a longer rant than I'd anticipated! Sorry about that!

Anyways, after I get back from the studio we're having the Mexico missions team come to my house to have a traditional Mexican meal. Served by traditional Mexicans. [laughing] Soy de Mexico! So, yeah, my mom made frijoles and molé and I think she's making enchiladas... I'm so excited, I love traditional Mexican food. Not the crap you get from Taco Smell. But that's just my opinion... We leave for Mexico in 10 days! HOLY COW, I didn't realize that it was that soon! I'm really excited about it--all of the people that I know that have gone before keep saying that awesome things happen on missions trips, so I'm so excited to see what God will do through our group. Even if you people who read this aren't religious, it's still pretty cool to hear of miracles, I think...

Summer vacation has been not relaxing at all thus far! I'm so tired right now! [laughing] That might actually be my fault for not having gone to bed until 2 o'clock this morning...but... We had an awesome human video performance last night. The human video team took over one of the church services that the church holds on Monday nights and it was so awesome! We had a great time!
