"You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts." --2 Corinthians 3:3

Adios, for now.

So, I'm heading out to the con tomorrow morning. Dad and I have a loose game-plan for the day, we have like a two hour drive out to the con and we want to check in the hotel first and then we're going to head over to the convention center. I'm still going as Howl tomorrow. I finally finished that blasted coat this afternoon. I kind of cut corners with it; so it doens't look fantastic, but it'll do. I just made Calcifer out of felt about twenty minutes ago, so the fabric paint on him has time to dry. I can't believe I almost forgot to make Calcifer!!

I'm doing Karin on Saturday, I didn't really have to do anyting to her outfit; I just have to be me. My sister, ever.so.silently, helped me a lot on my costumes and she said she didn't know who Karin was [gasp!]. So I had to head over to onemanga.com and introduce e.s.s. to Karin. After reading a bit of Karin's parts in the manga, my sister proclaimed that we were alike... I don't know if that's good or not. She's fiesty though, and according to my friends 'fiesty' is a good adjective to desribe me. Hopefully I'll be able to fit the part [and find a cute post-time skip Sasuke cosplayer!! Because that'd be awesome if I got to be all starry-eyed over some hot Sasuke cosplayer! XD]

I don't know if the hotel will have internet, so I'll just keep a running journal of my adventures at the con, then I'll post when I get back on Sunday. Alrighty, you guys, have a good weekend!!

Death to Thread

Let it be known that hand sewing sucks. I'm trying to sew Howl's coat for cosplaying this weekend; and, I've about had it with this thing!! I've got like half of one sleeves sewn onto the body of the jacket, and I'm ready to quit. This darn well better look good by the end of it!!

This Week the Trend...

I'm actually going to a con this weekend! I'm pretty excited. It will be my second con ever. I [finally] figured out who I'm cosplaying as. I'll go as Karin, Howl and then on Sunday I'll just be as fangirly-looking as humanly possible. I'm really gung-ho about going as Karin...so I'll probably end up going as her on Saturday...but Howl, not so much. He's freakin' hard to do!! I'm dead serious! The dang overcoat is giving me crap right now. I have the pants. The shoes. And thanks to ever.so.silenly, I have the shirt...but the jacket is just crap. I have a big blue blazer thing that I'm mod'ing the crap out of so it looks alright...but, I'm out of pink fabirc!! [flails arms] I can't find any!! We have some pink sheets that I'm so tempted to steal, cut up and then sew onto that dang jacket; but, I think my mom would be upset with me if I did that... So for right now, it's like four days 'til the con and I'm not really done with any of my costumes yet...greeeeeaaat. Oh well.

Exams.

I've actually only gotten one exam grade back; but, I was happy about it, so I'll share.

My art exam I got an 'A++' on. No lie. That's what my teacher put on her comment sheet. She also wrote: "Your paintings have a very distinctive style. This book is very mature, original, and interesting...I would buy your work if you published a book like this! Great job!!" YAYS!! I passed!!!

Today, the last day of all time.

So, technically today was my last day of school. It was the elementary/middle school's field day. Because I go to a small, private school the high schoolers were roped into helping out with the little kid's field day. It was about 90 something degrees out there!! Each of us were assigned a group of little kids to go take around to each game. My kids were older, so they at least could listen. I had 3/4/5 graders. My older sister had to take around the PreK and kindergarteners. Poor her.

Anyways, we played all these games. Well, they played them I stood there and got sweaty just watching them. Then it came time for me to move my group to Muffin's game. Muffin was running a variation of 'duck duck goose' where you drip a little bit of water on the kids head going around the circle, then the 'goose' is whomever gets the entire cup of water dumped on their head. I, of course, decided to steal one of the cups and throw water at Muffin, he retaliated, so we were both soaking wet.

We went inside to eat ice cream. And then some more games for the little kids.

And then...

The highschool and older middleschoolers got to have a water balloon fight.

I got so wet, it was awesome!! We had a ton of fun. We had one balloon left so we all stood in a circle and put our heads together and a girl broke the last balloon all over our heads. It was awesome!!

So, graduation is tonight. I get to be an usher. Go me. Unfortunately, I have to look 'pretty'...dun dun dun. My mom wants me to wear a dress I wore to a wedding last summer. It's strapless and floral print, I think not. I'll just wear a nice skirt and call it good.

So, I hope ya'll are having a good summer. For the hour and a half that it's been official summer vacation I know I've had a pretty good summer thus far...
