Well, here is the story, if my memory serves me right?
There was once a field rat that worked in a rice field. One day while the rat was working, he caught a glimpse of a very beautiful woman. In that instant, he fell in love. He went up to the beautiful woman and introduced himself to her. (I don't remember much after that) The beautiful woman feel in love with the mouse. They grew a strong and passoinate relationship.
One day, the mouse said "Why don't we ever go out and do anything?"
The beautiful woman sighed, and spoke her mind.
"Mouse, I love you very much, but I have pride and honor, and cannot be seen publicly with a simple feild mouse. I am sorry."
The mouse understood, and went back to the rice field.(Everything beyond here might me incorrect)
There in a rice field stood a crane. (I don't remeber much about what happen, but the crane gave the mouse a potion that would him into a human. He took a sip and then gave it back to the crane. The effects of the potion are permanate)
As he was heading back home to the beauiful woman, he saw her sitting on a bench with another man. He was shocked, but the thing that broke his heart is when he saw them kiss longly and passionatly. He was very upset, and ran over to the bridge. All by himself, he leaned over and cried over the edge of the bridge. He looked up has he heard the sound of approching footsteps.
"Hello. Has anyone ever told you that you look like a mouse?" The girl said.
Suddenly, the mouse knew exactly who she was. She was the crane from before!
The two feel deeply in love and lived happily forever!
