60's Tunes

Misa stood at the counter in the kitchen of the apartment she shared with Light. A turn table sat next to her, playing old songs from a vynal record titled "60's Juke Box Hits".

"I love him! I love him! I love him!" sang Misa. "And where he goes I'll follow! I'll follow! I'll follow!"

Misa, trying to be a good girlfriend, was putting away the dinner dishes. Light was in the other room, on the phone with his father. Misa finished her chores and peeked around the corner at him, awed by him.

"There isn't an ocean too deep,
a mountain so high it can't keep,
me away!"
The woman on the record continued to sing in a high pitched voice.

"Misa, will you turn that off?" asked Light. He had gotten off the phone with his father and spoke harshly to her. Misa complied and removed to needle from the record.

"Is something wrong with your father?" asked Misa. What she really wanted to say was "Light, don't you know how much I love you? Don't you love me back?" But, of course, Light didn't hear this.

"Yeah, he's fine," answered Light, What he reallly meant was "Misa, won't you shut up? I've got things to think about, you're so annoying." And, obviously, Misa didn't hear this.

"Well, thats good," said Misa, smiling. What she actually said was "Light, why don't you look at me? I dress up for you, I keep myself pretty. I'm a model! What more could you want?"

Light stood from the couch where he had been sitting and walked to the window, staring down at the street below. Misa wandered back to the kitchen and soon another 60's tune was drifting through the apartment.

"Tell Laura, I love her!
Tell Laura, I need her!
Tell Laura not to cry,
my love for her will never die!"

Misa started softly singing her own lyrics.
"Tell Light, I love him ... Tell Light, I need him ... "
Misa stopped as the man on the record continued to sing "Tell Laura not to cry ... "

"Light wouldn't cry for me," thought Misa. "Would he?"
She glanced through the kitchen door to the sitting room where Light was still staring out the window.

"Of course he would! Light loves me!" Misa silently scolded herself for doubting him. "He's just busy being L and Kira right now." She gazed forlornly at the man she loved

"Misa," he said suddenly.

"Oh!" gasped Misa. "Yes, Light?"

"Please stop staring at me."

"Oh." Misa blushed. "Okay."

Kay, I wrote this when I was in my room listening to some old vynals and I thought Misa would really like these songs.
The first one is I Will Follow Him by Peggy March
and the second one is Tell Laura I Love Her by Ray Peterson.
The idea kind of came to me and I figured I might as well write it down.
Sorry if you were expecting a climax or something (lol).
