Ooooh Lookie. A poem .3.

So, we're working on poems a little bit in my english class and we had to write a poem on something that we'd want to save if it were going away. This is what I wrote:

Save the Books

Sitting alone on an empty shelf
Would you throw old paper into a fire?
How about a book, lost and tattered.
Is this something you would desire?
Say "Hello" to the new technology.
The pages you forgot get a new look.
The world upgrades to a better way.
Say "good-bye" to the sad, innocent book.

Flipping through the weightless pages,
Falling into a favorite story
Releasing fictional doves from the cages
And becoming a master of glory.
Sneaking a moment under blankets with a flashlight.
A magical world will unfold
While you battle a monster with a sword in one hand
And flip of a page in the shield that you hold.

Listen closely, what do you hear?
Set down the magic they call a Nook.
And pick up the weight of a dusty book.
Paper is one thing that needn't be charged.
And while you read "Catcher and the Rye."
The item you hold will thank you
For the spirit of the book must never die.

I hope y'all enjoyed~
