“You killed my parents!” screamed Maria, aiming a punch at Kitty. She saw it a microsecond before it landed, and lent backwards, allowing Maria’s fist to swing harmlessly overhead.

“I didn’t Ria! I swear! I turned it down!” Kitty, despite all her faults, did not want to fight with someone she considered a friend.

“Lair! You never turn down a job! I know you to well for you to lie to me! Maria yelled, aiming another punch. Kitty caught her fist, swinging round so she was near Maria’s ear.

“I try not to hurt my friends, I don’t have very many” Kitty whispered in her ear. Maria broke free of her grasp twirling round to face the day-walking vampire. Kitty glared at her, telling her that, should she chose to attack, she would have no qualms about leaving her seriously injured or worse, but she wouldn’t do anything unless she was attacked first.

“You did kill them Kitty, nothing you say will change that!” Maria said, in low threatening tone. Through all of this, neither vampire had noticed the large crowd that
had gathered around them, but now, they did. Kitty glanced around, glaring at them.

“Leave” She said, her voice layered with anger. She showed emotion for the benefit of the humans. They needn’t be caught up in this old argument.

They didn’t move. Kitty grabbed someone out of the audience. She held the man by the throat, suffocating him.

“I SAID LEAVE!” She shouted. The crowd stood, slowly moving away. Kitty, feeling like they could do better then that, lashed out with her power. Two gashes appeared on the side of the man's face. He cried out, and Kitty laughed. The crowd ran, terrified at the sight of this woman. She threw the man to the floor. He too ran as soon as he got to his feet.

“Now then, Ria, where were we?” Kitty asked

“You killed them Kitty, I know it!” Maria said desperately, she needed someone to hate for their deaths. Kitty was the only one she could blame.

“I’m powerful, Ria,” Kitty said, without any trace of bragging “but not that powerful. I wouldn’t be able to overcome both of you parents. Especially back then. That was what? 50 years back? I was only about 170 then! Do you realize how young that is for a vampire? Sure, I am from a fighting bloodline, which gives us an upper hand when it comes to attack and defence but I still wouldn’t enough power, or experience. Whoever did this would have to be… at least… 400 now!” Maria nodded glumly, seeing the logic in this. She had previously been in a blind rage, unable to see it all logically. Kitty approached her tentatively, putting an arm around her shoulders.

“You up to it?” asked Kitty, a smile returning to her face.

“Up for what?” asked Maria.

“Hunnter hunting of course, I mean, that was what we came here for wasn’t it?” Kitty poked Maria.
