This is the beginning...how it all started.

It all started when I started endlessly watching the Cartoon Network. I have always preferred animated...well animated anything, so naturally, Cartoon Network was the perfect TV channel for me. That was when I became an Adult Swim fan, and it was through Adult Swim that I was introduced to InuYasha and Death Note, as well as numerous other animated series. However, that was only the prologue to my newest obsession. I never caught episodes of different series in order or each time they came on, so my understanding of the story lines and characters was spotty and confusing.

Recently, I decided to use iTunes to get all the shows I typically like to watch, which included Death Note. For the first time I was able to watch the series from the beginning. I started by watching a few episodes a night, but soon I could not help myself and gradually started watching more and more, until I just took a day and finished the series. WOW! Apparently I have been missing out on a true hidden passion of mine all my life--anime.

I have always enjoyed art and drawing, and from time to time break out the pencil and sketch pad or digital drawing tablet. It was not long into the Death Note TV series that I wanted to draw several scenes and recreate others (which I hope to finish in the near future). Next thing you know I am looking for wall papers and art focused on Death Notes and shopping for Death Note keepsakes. Through my searching I found you, Otaku.com, purchased the Death Note book box set and action movie, and downloaded the Death Note manga.

Now I have spent ALL my time reading manga, drawing characters, and searching for online content focused on anime culture. I have no idea where I am going with it all, but I would like to start my own series. I have not thought it all through, but we shall see if it comes to life. Thank you for being part of my inspiration, and I hope you can join me on my anime journey!
