Hello everybody, this is J-Revolution, a place where J-Rock and J-Pop fans can be in harmony together. This place is basically a round table discussion about the many many amazing bands, and amazing talent as I may add, that are in Japan. There will be music video's posted, artist info, etc etc.
If you are by any chance interested in joining this place and becoming a guest poster, than feel free to pm me and I will do that as fast as I can.
Today I'm introducing you to the semi-well-known artist YUI. Her story is an interesting one because one day she was a simple indie artist, but almost overnight she gained notoriety for her unique style and lyrics. In her short career she has already had successful hits with LIFE and ROLLING STAR, both of which have been featured as an ending and opening to Bleach respectively. Another hit, I Remember You, was featured in a movie that she also had a starring role in.
Soon she is set to release her third album, and if it lives up to the reputation of her last few singles and albums it will definitely be something to be excited about!!
Here is her newest PV Laugh Away, a light and happy slice-of-life song! Please enjoy!
Once again, out of boredom, I decided to look for some new bands. I found this one, Plastic Tree and I immediatly liked them.
Plastic Tree was formed in 1993, and their earlier songs are labeled as Visual Kei, but their styles range from hardcore to pop and the lead singer Ryutaro adds a medolic sound with his 'child-like' voice.
They have produced twenty-six singles and have fifteen albums.
Plastic Tree's single Namida Drop was used as the first opening of Legend of the Glass Fleet.
This is one of their singles, Ghost.
My first thought on this song was 'Eh.'
But after listening to it for a while, I really like it, It is slow in the begining, but towards the middle, the vocals are pretty interesting.
Please tell me what you think.

P.S. If you have a band you would like me to cover, please PM me.
As many people already know Utada Hikaru recently released her newest Japanese album, HEART STATION. Including essentially five previously released singles, this album does not disappoint! It is, like many of her other releases, simply Utada. She seems to have found and become one with her style and this album is a reflection of exactly that!
If you already like her, this is no news to you, but for all of those wanting a truly unique pop experience of any kind, you simply must give this album a listen!
And don't forget, soon she is scheduled to begin work on her second English language album!!!
Fight the Blues (Live)
This was performed at Music Lovers Japan when poor Hikki was sick no less!
Hey guys.
Well, last night I decided to surf YouTube, partly out of boredom, but mostly out of a craving for new Visual Kei music. I found a band called Alice Nine.
Alice Nine was formed in 2004 and has produced thirteen singles. They have also made the openening and ending for the second season of the anime Meine Liebe. Their music is a mix of mainstream style and heavier styles. Personaly, I usually prefer heavier J-rock like Dir en Grey, but Alice Nine is a great alternative.
Here is one of their lighter songs, Ruri no ame, the music video for this is beautiful.
