Well, to start off my first post here on The J-Revolution, here is one of my most favorite bands Base Ball Bear. I first fell in love with them when their song “Dramatic” was placed as the opening for the anime version of “Ookiku Furikabutte” in April 2007 and have been listening to them since.
members (L-R): Shiori Sekine, Daisuke Horinouchi, Yūsuke Koide, Shōhei Yuasa
Brief history lesson:
Base Ball Bear (ベースボールベアー?) is a rock/pop band from Tokyo, Japan that formally began in 2002, although the members assembled in the autumn of 2001 under the name “Planets”, loosely based off of a song by SUPERCAR, under the same name. The band’s current name is also based off a song’s title, with them adding the word “bear” in it. The band made its major debut in early 2006. Their style influences include Japanese bands Number Girl and SUPERCAR, and British rock/pop bands such as Oasis. Base Ball Bear is recognized for the "nostalgic" feel of Koide's lyrics, often about teenage life and memories. They are also known for their contributions to the soundtrack and cast of the movie Linda Linda Linda, Ōokiku Furikabutte, and now for the ending theme of the going to be released anime “Toshokan Sensō” which will air on April 11th this year.
The video here is the PV for their song "Matsuri no Ato",and if you like them I recommend that you look at "17 sai(17才)" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df8ChBEZ8cY and "Manatsu no Jouken" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2aatD_tzgs
Hope you will enjoy their music!
