Hello and welcome to Keba's Anime and Manga Place (KAAMP for short)! Here at KAAMP, I write about anime and manga that I have seen/read as well as my views on them. I'll also post about my original stories from time to time.

Just beware that some of my posts contain spoilers. I'll put them in spoiler tags just in case.

KAAMP's history: KAAMP was created in July 2002 by yours truly. It was a sloppy-looking website on Yahoo's now defunct Geocities. I posted my anime fan art on that site. Also, for a time, I posted my thoughts on the few anime series that I had seen. Now that I look back on it, my thoughts were rather ill-informed (is that even a word?) because I had only seen bits and pieces of anime dubs. Now that I've seen more series, I think that my commentary on various anime will be a little better than before.

So, come on in and stay awhile! KAAMP is now in session.

Olympic Gymnast Inspired by Manga

I thought I'd bring up a relevant topic while we're in the midst of the Olympics. Turns out that a gymnast representing Japan got inspiration from a manga about gymnastics. It also helped that his parents ran a gymnasium. Watch this video to learn more.

Apologies in Advance [UPDATE]

Hi everyone. In a few days, my online presence will vanish for approximately 48 hours. In short, I'm moving to a new apartment. I'll do my best to catch up with you guys when I'm all settled in.

Just so you know, I'd like to thank everyone for the comments/votes/favorites on the art that I posted. I finally got a #1 spot on the leaderboards, which is something I aspired to do since I first joined.. Thanks for all the support. I mean it.

Having said that, it may be some time before I post anything else. I have a few things in the works, but not much. Then again, I'm not sure what the future will hold, so I might churn out a bunch of drawings at once. Who knows?

Update: I'm in my new place now. I still have to unpack my art supplies. ^^;

On the Radio

I haven't had a lot to say anime-wise for quite a while, but I have to share this. I was listening to a radio station, when the DJ came on and announced that he found a Charmander on Pokemon GO in the lounge. Just think: 15 years ago the average person who listened to this station on a regular basis would have scoffed at the mention of Pokemon. Now, DJs are proudly declaring themselves as trainers on the air. Or maybe the station is going "soft". Either way that was a bright spot in an otherwise awful day.

*Crickets*

I know you guys haven't heard much from me. That's because I haven't been watching much anime lately. I started SMC, but I haven't really done much else.

Regarding the Countdown, I'll make everyone guest posters tomorrow, if I have time. I can't wait to see everyone's lists. I will not be participating this time around, but that doesn't mean that you guys can't. Sign-ups are still open! Update: It's tomorrow. All participants are now guest posters.

As for why I won't be participating (and my lack of activity in general) is that I'm moving to a different apartment in a little less than a month. I have a lot of loose ends to tie up in "real life", so my online presence has been sparse.

Another thing I'm trying to do is focus on my music. That's really what I want in life. Sure I like doing visual and tactile art, but I don't want to distract myself TOO much from my ultimate goal. I'll record that album if it's the last thing I do.

Don't worry; I'm still drawing. I've owed prizes to people for over a year, and although it's taken me forever due to a number of unfortunate circumstances, I intend to make good on those promises.

Attention AMV Makers

OK, so I only know one person on here who makes AMVs, but still, this info is useful.

I just found a free download of some software that edits videos better than Windows Movie Maker. It's called VideoPad. I downloaded it, and although I haven't used it much, there are a lot of YouTube resources on how to use it. I haven't made any AMVs myself, but in theory I could if I knew how to rip a DVD.
