I've had problems with depression so occasionally things can get a little dark here. But I'm doing much better now.
I go to an AMAZING church. I can't get there very often, but I go whenever I can.
I do not have a boyfriend as of yet. But I'm in the market ;p

I like to write fanfics and random stories. I have a fanfic on my other world and it will be finished eventually, I swear!! Just... Don't hold your breath, ne?

Book Review 2
The Handmaid's Tale
Margaret Atwood
The Handmaid's Tale is the story of the Handmaid Offred. It's set in the future, where Gilead has taken over the United States and wages religious war on other countries. The women are now divided into four groups: Handmaids, Wives, Marthas, and Econowives. Wives are the wives of the Commanders, the powerful men. They wear blue. Handmaids are the child bearers for the Wives. They wear red. Marthas are the cooks, maids, and childcare. They wear green. Econowives are the wives of regular men, and they do everything. They wear stripes of each class because they do it all.
The story is told by Offred. She tells of her life working as a Handmaid for the Commander and his Wife, and of her life before everything changed. Her husband and daughter. Her job. Her friends. She wants to escape but there is no way out.
I loved this book. It was a little hard to follow because, being told by Offred's point of view, it's told as history. The knowledge of what happened is assumed. In the back of the book are "historical notes" that make it a little easier to understand. The end is a cliffhanger, but with the historical notes a happy ending is implied. This was a wonderful book, Margaret Atwood is a brilliant author, and I can't wait to find a copy of this to buy for myself.

Been a while since I posted. Been busy busy with college preparation stuff, then internet as down for a little while. But, good news! I got accepted to the college I wanted to go to! So now I have a lot more to do. Meet with student rep, meet with financial adviser, take class placements test, schedule classes... I'm tired already.
I also got my ACT scores yesterday. I scored a 25, and the minimum required for my college is 21, so no problems there. I would have done better except for that darn math section. Most of it was stuff I had never even learned. But I got some points for it, so I guess my guessing wasn't totally off. My English was 99% and reading was 91%, so with my major being creative writing the math and science sections really wouldn't matter as much anyway.
Who's planning on going to Starbucks on May 1st for Cosplay Starbucks Day? I'm gonna throw together a quick L costume and pop in lol. As far as I know nobody else in my area is doing it, but I decided I will even if I have to do it alone.
I've got some drawings I wish I could post, but our scanner is broken. I may try tinkering with it later, we'll see.
That's really all I have time for, I'll try to make a long post tomorrow or sometime soon.

Family sucks
So I just found out my big sister is engaged. But of course she didn't tell me herself. I never would have known if I hadn't seen a comment somebody left on her Facebook. She basically took care of me for years, I don't understand why she doesn't care anymore. Doesn't return my texts, changes her phone number and doesn't tell me, changes religion and doesn't tell me. The marriage won't last anyway... She's a slut... I can guarantee I won't be invited to the wedding. And if I am it's only because I sent her a message (on Facebook, since there's no other way to contact her because she wont give me her phone number) asking when it happened. I wonder if she's pregnant. I wonder if she was ever going to tell me. We're half sisters, but I never thought of her as half anything. She was always my sister. A sister's supposed to be somebody who's there for you when you need them and she won't even give me her phone number? I don't know why I keep trying to have a relationship with her. It just gets me hurt.
New Job
Today is my first day of my new job: babysitting my mom's friend's baby. $10 a day + 3 days a week X an adorable easy-to-take-care-of baby = very happy Sami. I'm actually going to have income. For doing something I LIKE. Wonderful.
My cat is licking my sock because I spilled my milkshake all over myself. He loves milkshakes. What a dork XD
Has anybody seen the new Alice in Wonderland movie? I want to see it but we don't go see movies often. It looks good but Twists of Rain said it sucks. But I don't believe her :P
It looks like I'm not going to be able to get a college scholarship. The scholarship application has to be in by the 15th, but the school application has to be sent in first. And I COULD go ahead and send it in, but my mom won't let me. They also need to have a math test, science lab, and writing sample. They don't need it at the same time as the application, but my mom won't let me send in the application without it. SO no scholarship. Have fun paying for my school, Mom.
So, I'm on a huge Sailor Moon kick right now. I've been scouring Google for crafts but they're really hard to find. Most of it is stuff people have made and are selling, coloring pages, and two papercrafts that I can't do because they're PDO files and not PDF. I managed to find one website but it was mostly little kid stuff. I guess I need to go to Hobby Lobby and get some clay to make my own stuff. I'd love to have a Sailor Moon cosplay for the library's convention this summer. If they still have it, that is. Thanks to Ohio's TERRIBLE governor Strickland, library budgets have been cut ridiculously. So my library now has no teen librarian and no teen activities. The adults and kids can still go have fun, but all our stuff got canceled. I wrote Strickland a letter and never even got a form letter back. But hopefully the library's levy will pass and we'll get everything back to normal. I need that con, I was sick last year and couldn't go :( I think I'll work on a Sailor Moon cosplay and I'll keep you guys updated. But it'll be slow going.
