Mission Second Day: Find THE Book

It was the next day and Kita got up and got ready for her mission. She had not heard nor seen Ulquiorra yesterday so her weighing questions of Urahara were still on the forefront of her mind. Then there was Szayel and his comment about her, and who and what she was. Nothing was making sense to her today. All she wanted was answers, but where should she seek for such answers when her master was nowhere to be fond.

Finally out in the hall, Kita snapped her fingers and the garguanta appeared in front of her. She stepped through the gate and headed to the human realm. Stepping out of the gate in the human realm she walked around the park a little. It was another beautiful day and she had too much on her mind to be going to Urahara at the time. She walked over to the swing and took a set. Wrapping her arms around the chains that attached to the set of the swing she locked her fingers together, and slowly let the swing move back and forth as she drug her feet beneath her in the dirt. She looked down to the ground watching it switch from the green grass to the dusty brown dirt that sat under her. So lost in thought she did not notice a set of feet in the grass in front of her.

“I want to say sorry about yesterday,” Kita looked up to the familiar voice that stood before her. “I didn’t mean to upset you.” Kita gave a soft smile to Ichigo as he stood there with a smile across his face.

“It’s fine Ichigo. I made the choices in my life and in the process I hurt a lot of people. I did not take into consideration how my choices would affect them. I truly thought the decision I made was the right one.”

Ichigo grabbed the chains on Kita’s swing and stopped her. Kita looked up from her set at Ichigo the look on his face was not a pleased look.

“Clearly when you hurt someone it is not the right decision.” Ichigo told her.

Kita shrugged her shoulders lowering her head. Thoughts of everything flooded her mind and she spoke before she truly thought about what she was saying, “I know and I found that out after I was dead.”

Ichigo stepped back from Kita and looked at her, “Kita?”

She quickly lifted her hands to him, “Wait! Ichigo let me explain!” “Crap what made me say that?” She thought to herself. “I meant to say gone. They thought I was dead, but I was only gone.” Kita quickly tried to cover her words.

“Kita, I know you’re dead. I can see souls of the dead. I know a soul from a living person.” Ichigo told her.

Sighing, Kita looked to Ichigo as she stood from the swing set, “Since we are being truthful then… I guess you should know, I know of you.”

“You know of me?”

“Yes,” Ichigo turned slightly from her running his fingers through his hair, “I would rather not explain how, but I do know you’re a soul reaper.” He then turned pointing a finger he corrected her.

“I am a ‘substitute’ soul reaper.”

Kita lowered her head with a giggle as she looked back at Ichigo, “and I am not an Espada I am a Numberos. The only difference is the reiryoku; however, we are all still Arrancars.”

Ichigo looked at her shocked, “Your. An… Arrancar?”

Kita nodded, “Yes.”

“Can I ask you a question?” Ichigo asked her his words sounding slightly urgent.

“What might that be, Ichigo?” Kita replied.

“Are you the human Aizen tu--”

Kita did not even give him time to finish his sentence when she started nodding her head. Ichigo stopped in mid-sentence looking at her.

Ichigo grabbed her hand and started to run off pulling her behind, but before he could take one step they heard.

“ICHIGO! Where are you?”

Ichigo turned to the voice as they watched Karin and Yuzu step around a group of bushes. He let go of Kita’s hand quickly drawing it to the back of his head.

“Karin, Yuzu? Done already?”

“Yeah,” Karin replied seeing Kita standing behind her brother, “Why you acting so weird? Again.”

Ichigo gave an uneasy laugh as he walked over to his sisters and turned them around and started walking them the opposite way of Kita. Looking slightly back at Kita, Ichigo mouthed he would be right back.

“I am not acting weird yo--”

Ichigo was cut off by Karin, “Your right you’re not acting. You are!” Karin looked over her shoulder at Kita as Ichigo keep walking the other way. Kita waved with a slight smile at Karin as they disappeared around the bush. A few minutes later when Ichigo returned back to Kita she was gone.

---

Kita was walking along thinking about her conversation with Ichigo earlier in the park. She wondered where he might have been trying to take her. It would not have mattered either way, Kita would have had to return to Los Noches by nightfall or Ulquiorra would have been coming to look for her. Thinking a little more on the subject Kita then realized that Ichigo acted a little weird when she confirmed she was the human Aizen turned arrancar.

“The Espada did not like the idea of it either, always asking why she was turned and them always asking what she was to Aizen or in general, asking what she was.” Kita thought to herself as she walked along toward Urahara’s Shop. “Why would anyone care?”

Kita was deep into thought she had hypnotized herself as she walked along. So many unanswered questions, so many pieces missing from the puzzle of her life, and the never ending feeling of being someone else weighed on Kita daily. Along with what happened the other day with Aizen and the hougyoku. There were so many doubts in her mind, so many things that did not make sense. Before Kita knew it she was stepping up in front of Urahara’s Shop.

Kita looked at Urahara's front door as she walked up to it and tried to open the door. "Is it stuck?" Kita thought to herself as she tried again, "Maybe he is gone?" She then decided to knock before she turned and head back to Los Noches. Raising her hand she knocked at the door.

In the backroom Urahara looked the way of the front door hearing the knock. It then dawned on him that Toushiro locked the door. Urahara got to his feet and went to the door unlocking it and sliding it open. He smiled as he saw Kita standing in front of him.

"Kita, come in come in. I was hoping you would stop by."

As Kita stepped in the door she saw a strange arrancar walk from the back of the shop he was adjusting his jacket, "Urahara, I have one last question before I--" he looked up seeing Kita. "Uh....."

Kita tilted her head looking at the arrancar that stood in Urahara's Shop. She narrowed her eyes slightly at him and went to step forward, but Urahara stopped her flat by placing his hand to her shoulder. She so badly wanted to ask the arrancar why he was there and who he was. She had never seen him around Los Noches, but there he stood in a uniform that the arrancar wore. Kita just glared at him gritting her teeth. Urahara smiled, softly gripping Kita's shoulder, "Why don't you go to the back and have Ururu make you some tea, Kita. I need to take care of something."

Kita nodded as she walked past the arrancar. She could not take her eyes from him. She even looked at him from the corner of her eyes as she past by him to go to the back. Once in the back she took a seat at the table. “Two cups? I wonder if that arrancar had tea with Urahara?" Ururu then came out handing Kita a fresh cup of tea. Kita smiled at her taking it as she sat it to the table. It was not long after Urahara returned and sat down at the table with her. The two talked for what seemed like hours, company even stopped by to visit Urahara. Renji staying the latest, however to Kita’s surprise it had been hours. The day pasted so quickly she did not even realize that the sun had sat. Quickly she got to her feet and bowed to Urahara and Renji, “Thank you so much for the tea, Urahara and the fantastic conversation, from both of you. However, I must really be on my way. I did not realize how late it was.”

“Not a problem. I had a very enjoyable evening,” Renji told her with a smile standing up from the table.

“Yes, as did I,” replied Urahara, he then looked to Renji. “Renji? Why don't you walk Kita home?”

Renji looked to Urahara, “Sure I can do that, after all it is late.”

Kita gave a wave of hand, “No no. There is no need for that. I will be fine on my own.”

Renji walked around Kita and took her arm, “Nonsense, I am walking you home.”

“But…”

“Byeeeee,” Urahara called after them as Renji walked her to the front of the shop.

Kita looked to Renji and sighed, “Really, you don't have to do this.”

“I know I don't, but I want to.” Renji told her.

Kita smiled softly at him as she stepped out the door. Renji followed behind closing the door. Once on there way Renji walked beside Kita as they talked along their way. Kita just decided to have Renji walk her to her old house where her parents stilled lived. She could walk inside and Renji would be none the wiser, and once he was gone she could go to the back yard and open the gate and head back to Los Noches.

That’s exactly how it played out for them to. Renji told her good night as did Kita to Renji. She walked into her old house and right out the back. She watched for Renji to get far enough away then opened the gate and head to Los Noches.
