We will see.

Poor Kaos

Kaos sits under a tree an unrolled scroll in his lap. It was his orders from his Lord. "Damn bastard" He never understood how sibling rivalry could go as far as wanted to kill your family. Kaos shakes his head unhappily.

"Are you that upset with me, young assassin" The lord's cold voice penetrated the small hallow in which Kaos hid. "You never curse unless extremely displeased." Rezic stares at his young 'friend', no hints of his mood on his emotionless face, or coldly priecing eyes.

Kaos stands quickly bowing his head, "My Lord, please forgive I was unaware..."

Rezic cuts the leopard off with a wave of his elegant clawed hand. "Silence, I do not care for petty excuses. Kaos, you were became an assassin and you decided to follow me of your own free will." He turns way from the young man before continuing, "All I asked was loyalty, you knew what I would have you do. Now you will kill Silvanoshei Blood Bane or pay for it with your life. Do not test me cat"

Yamiko was in shadow form, listening but not getting involved. Once again, she was just around because she was wandering aimlessly. Still, quiet, none threatening, the panther only watched through darkness made by the shade of the trees.

Kaos growls staring at his lord angrily. "He's your brother, Rezic you kill him." He immediately drops his head, "I'm sorry my lord I didn't mean too."

Rezic's eyes narrow in anger. "Whelp how dare you speak to me in such a way" He lashes out against the cat, backhanding the young man into a tree. "You will listen to me. I am your Lord and you are in debt to me cat. I own your life."

Kaos whimpers and drops to his knees. His cheek stung and he knew it was going to swell and changes to a nice purple color. "My Lord, please I will. I'm sorry." He keeps his eyes down as a form of submission. He knew about dog demons, and if he looked up he would be dead.

Rezic stared down at the leopard. "Hn" He dropped a collar in front of the young man. The leather on the collar was worn and white hairs still cling to it. "Do not fail me cat."

Among the many strange creatures that dwelled in the darkness of the trees, a single, innocent, if somewhat outsize bat hung, it's crimson eyes transmitting the details of the meeting to someone far away.

Miles away, in some nameless pit, pale lips firmed into a scowl.
"Now that just won't do. "

The panther was feeling very very antsy and as was starting to squirm by her want to just say something or rather punch Rezic in the damn face. But at this moment, it was not her place to do such, too many tables that could be turned against her...

All she could do was watch and wait. It's what a leopard does with its pray anyway.

Kaos snatches the collar from off the ground rubbing a thumb over the leather. He looks up glaring at his lord's back. "I won't" He stands slowly watching as his lord disappears back into the forest. Kaos looks at the collar and snarls wincing in pain. His cheek hurt.

The panther took in a breath then started to stir. "Your dept must've been great...” she said, hanging on a tree branch behind him by her legs. ".... To make you submit like that, Kaos."

Kaos growls angrily at Yamiko. "How dare you watch us!" He turns on her, he was pale and blood trickled down the corner of his mouth, his cheek gaining a bluish purple color. He growls at her walking past her dropping the collar as he passed her by, not wanting to remember.

A chill, unsettling feeling crept through the clearing, making the pair's skin crawl. A soft chuckle echoed into the still air, and a pair of burning, feral yellow eyes glimmered.
"Indeed. Your current employer leaves much to be desired. You wander the world, a filthy brigand on a leash; while you could be a great lord among your fellows... He is cruel, and demands you kneel. But I am kind, and ask only that you stand... Stand with me at the final sunset of this world."

The rich, silken voice was matched to a figure of remarkable grandeur, none other than The Count himself.

Yamiko tensed then looked over at him; crimson eyes staring slightly coldly then she stepped towards him. Brave of her to do such anyway, but her thought to that would be that's she dealt with enough crap already.

"Dracula," she started. "Not him. Not this one."

The Count turned his venomous yellow gaze to Yamiko, though it lacked the usual malice. He seemed genuinely amused.
"You misunderstand me, my dear... I'm merely offering him a job, in exchange for the... mediation of his dispute with his employer."
He grinned, his fangs flashing in the moonlight. "Besides, my children, wherever they've run off to, will assuredly make my life hell if I let their mutt of an uncle die."

Kaos grabs Yamiko's hand softly before growling and turning around. "Yamiko..." He pauses looking at the man he had only heard about. "The Lord of Vampires, it would be an honor but in these circumstances it is not. I have no use to be a lord among anything, my race is almost dead." Kaos bows his head as he was taught to do in the presence of any lord. "I only serve those who have earned my loyalty. My Lord Rezic has done that." Kaos looks into those yellow eyes shuddering slightly not trying to mask his distrust and fear of this being.

Dracula arched a slender, angular brow. "Pity. I must admit, I admire your dedication." His expression turned dark, his yellow eyes pulsing with tainted light. "But, much as I detest Silvanoshei, if you attempt to carry out your mission; I will kill you."
Dracula's expression softened, and became almost amicable.
"So, how is that hellcat wife of mine? Still terrifying men far and wide?"

The female leopard sighed, in a way with relief, however this only brought more of a dilemma now...

Kaos squeezed Yamiko's hand gently and lowered his eyes. "Then I will die." He smiled sadly before raising an eyebrow. "Do you mean Lady Karitine? She is dangerous, and explosive. I must admit she does terrify me with a raztar."

The Count nodded, chuckling softly.
"She hasn't changed much..." He turned on his heel, cloak billowing behind him.
"Try to enjoy your last days among the living, then. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry... maybe show off some battle scars to the female students... they eat that up. And do consider my offer."
With that admonition, The Count exploded into a flock of shrieking, flapping bats and soared away into the night sky.

The woman looked at his hand, tilting her hand slightly then she patted at his back as if telling him not to think such things.

Kaos released Yamiko's hand walking back over to a tree and settling himself under it. "I don't have days, Bane is here." He smiles sadly looking at his hands. 21 years of life most wasted on death.

An enraged dog demon erupts into the clearing his red eyes sweeping over it's inhabitants before resting on Kaos. The beast growled "Traitor!" Bane lunges at the assassin's throat.

Burroughs, with uncanny speed, pulled a one-eighty, and stood parallel to the ground on the trunk of a nearby tree, observing the oncoming battle.
"Never thought I'd be cheering for you, mutt..."

"Bane!!" Yamiko grabbed him from behind, but was also preparing a shield just in case Kaos deiced to attack. Just in case. "Come on, control yourself!"

Burroughs inspected his talons disinterestedly.
Having tried multiple times to rid himself of the puppy, he knew he could take care of himself.
But, if things took a turn for the worst, Bane was getting assistance, whether he objected or not.
The Vampire King grinned to himself.
Yes... The constant stigma of having his life saved by Burroughs was something he'd love to inflict on Bane.

Bane shrugs Yamiko off "Do not get involved he's just another cat, you find someone else"

Kaos stands slowly waiting for the demon to come close enough "Silvanoshei you are scenticed to death by my Lord." Kaos ducks under the dog's claws pushing his shoulder into Bane's ribs. "Finally we face each other mutt."

Bane reels away holding his stomach. "You’re a fool." He lunges again this time grabbing Kaos' neck slamming up against the tree hard enough to break couple ribs.

Kaos snarls wrapping his legs around Bane's arm, twisting until there is a sickening snap as her tries to pull the hand off his abused windpipe.

Bane snarls as he pain shoots through his now broken limb. "Stupid" He grabs a large branch off the ground and rams it through Kaos' shoulder effectively pinning him to the tree. "Bastard."

Kaos lets out a low agonized cry reaching for the branch.

Burroughs clapped lightly, as if he was enjoying a private drama.
"Well done... well done indeed."
prick though Bane was; he had a knack for brutality.

"Only a twisted mind can find this enjoyable, Burroughs,” she said through clenched teeth when she heard his clapping through her ears. She shook her head, not knowing how to take this.

"And mine is a very, very twisted mind..."
He grinned darkly.
"However... I might be persuaded to leave this one alone..."

She turned her head to glare at him, her anger starting to rise. "Why you..."

Bane watched in sick enjoyment as Kaos removed branch slowly and painfully.

Kaos growled loudly giving one last jerk on the branch freeing himself. He fell to one knee, watching Bane; he coughed up blood rubbing his windpipe. Unlike normal demons he did not heal quickly.

She tensed up more. "Bane! Stop this that’s enough!!" she glowered, taking a step forward.

"Kaos, for the love of your mother's soul, please remove the deal. Don't kill bane, damn it."

Kaos gets up smiling, and laughing. "Good show mutt." He flicks his wrist sending out a raztar, the seven blades ripping through the flesh of Bane's side. Kaos gains a wild glint in his eyes holding up his chin and smirking.

Bane gripped his side snarling at the leopard, he lunged once more at Kaos slicing him across the chest before turning and adding a mass kick to the stomach and ribs breaking a few.

"Damn" Kaos hit a tree pieces of bone priecing his organs. He lunges at Bane this time; he was down with defense. Kaos sinks his fangs deep into Bane shoulder well his spring-loaded dagger unlatches and buries itself into Bane's stomach. He then uses his legs pushing off Bane, sending them both flying in opposite directions.

Bane snarls, why wasn't his poison working on the whelp.

Burroughs arched an eyebrow, and stepped down from his tree.
"You owe me for this one, Doamne..."
A black-gloved hand leveled its palm at the two of them, pulsing for just a moment with an unfathomably dark aura.

A split second later, a boulder-sized sphere of congealed hellfire surged forward, exploding in an immense conflagration of scorching wind and flame between Bane and Kaos.

Both demons look up and glaring at Burroughs for interrupting their fight.

Kaos smiles sadly at Yamiko before disappearing into the forest knowing it was the smartest choice.

Bane turns on his brother in law. "Why? I had him!" He growled loudly before turning on Yamiko. "It's your fault. I bet you would do anything to help your lover."

Burroughs smiles mockingly.
"Bane, my dear brother... When have I ever needed to explain why I do anything?"
He turned to Yamiko, his smile turning a shade more dangerous.
"I'll be at the Castle. You have questions, I'm sure."

He shot Bane one last mocking grin before vanishing in a burst of sulfurous fire and choking smog.

She glared at him. "Bane you were acting ridiculous as well as Kaos." she suddenly lashed at him through her voice. "And how dare you lower me down in such a state! How dare you blame me when I consider you my own brother!"

She crossed at her arms, growling even more. "He is my friend and you are my family, what else was I suppose to do, huh? And so..." she bowed her body to him. "Now I owe the Devil for stopping you two. Do not make my efforts go in vain, I swear to Hell and Heaven I'll haunt you and your offspring if you do."

Darkness engulfed her and she was gone.

Burroughs sat idly on his throne, sipping a glass of warm blood.
He was in a good mood, and he saw little need to be anxious before the battle began.
Still.
The anticipation hummed in his blood, and his spine registered a light tingle.
It was a rare night indeed.

Some shadows and black eerie smoke rose from the marbled floors as the demon emerged, already angry and agitated. "Alright... what do you want this time, huh?"

Burroughs smiled, sipping the last of his drink and carelessly tossing it to the floor, the thin glass shattering.
"It's quite simple, actually... I wish to offer you a challenge."
He rose from his seat, his form shifting slightly to the colder features of Count Dracula.
"A battle, a duel... It is over when one of is can no longer fight, or when we yield. If you should triumph, I will abandon my assault on this world, and simply let humans do as they will."
His lips curled over his fangs in a chilling smile.
"But, if I should win... You will be my bride, to dwell forever by my side in darkness eternal, the sweet bliss of endless nights..."
He tilted his head upward.
"What say you?"

She glared at him, however having a disbelieving look on her face. The woman looked down, growling as she thought to herself, reached some logic, but only found that risks were always taken and that there was always a catch to everything. Especially in dealings.

"...Heal Kaos first.... He took a rather fatal blow back there." she said calmly, her head still low as if still thinking.

He chuckled softly, and nodded.
"As you wish..."
He made a minor gesture with his head, a gesture to one of the unseen creatures of the Castle.

Kaos whimpers stumbling toward any sort of safe haven in which he could die. He had lost too much blood. He collapses his forehead resting against the dirt. "I have failed you my Lord."

Rezic stood over the leopard. "You have but your fight was interrupted by another Lord. I will not fault you for that, and it would seem I do not need you anymore assassin. The mutt is under the hold of another Lord and no longer my problem." Rezic sneers at the leopard "You have paid your debt little one, you may die in peace. I release you from my hold."

Kaos starts to laugh not knowing what else to do. That man, his lord who gave him back his life and made them all pay, was now tossing him aside and with it his life. "Damn you Rezic. I trusted you."

Rezic allowed Kaos a glimpse of emotion. He laughed, "Don't you know, you can't trust anyone dear boy, how naive of you." He kicked Kaos in his ribs sending him flying into another tree back towards Bane. "I used you assassin." He replaced his mask and disappeared into the night back to his castle.

A pale, supernaturally beautiful young woman in a long, white chemise appeared suddenly, standing over Kaos. Her blue eyes glowed eerily in the darkness, the full moon halloing her waist-length, platinum-blonde hair.
Black lips twisted into a grin, parting to show pearly fangs.
"I don't know why he wants you to live.. but part of the reason my boss is more pleasant than yours is because I don't question him."
She sucked in a deep breath, and blew a fresh, jasmine and lilac-scented breeze over his face, the perfumed air filtering into his wounds, the deep gashes and broken bones healing of their own accord.
"Remember this.. little kitten."
With a disturbing giggle, the strange beauty was gone, as if she had never existed.

Kaos whimpered. "Wait" He reached out for her as she disappeared. "No..." He lets his head fall. "Burroughs I accept your offer." Kaos slowly stands. He lifts his nose to the wind hoping to catch his scent or Yamiko's. "Yamiko... I'm sorry" He had a lot to explain to her.

~ Dracula’s Castle ~

He closed his eyes and nodded, briefly.
"Done."
His grin returned, even as his yellow eyes burned into her.
"So.. What say you?"

"I could be really stupid and just run off right now with all your monsters probably going to attack along the way. OR...." She shook her finger. "I could be even more stupid and agree on your deal in hopes that I would banish your ass outta here to leave my family and friends in peace..."

There was a click and a sudden thunder was heard, Yamiko holding her Colt revolver that already fired at him, the smoke coming out of the barrel.

"Guess that answers things..."

He grinned, spitting a mouthful of blood to the side as the bullet fell to the floor, the flesh already closed behind it.
"Indeed, it does."

He vanished in a swirl of shadow, appearing at point-blank rage behind her.
The cloak snapped open, and a veritable wall of hellfire orbs erupted from the crimson cloth.

She growled, her dark barrier appearing in from and around her. "Shit," she jumped back, feeling those volcanic orbs already having its heat burn slightly at her. However not fatal.

Her barrier took a rather huge hit from two of the molten orbs, the darkness suddenly reacting and turning into large thorns that shot out swiftly at the orbs and at her enemy.

Though how he'd concealed it was anyone's guess, the massive grotesque blade of Soul Edge came up in a swift arc, shearing the murderous implements apart with ease.
The Count jetted backward, as if borne on a conveyor belt.

"Very good.. But not good enough."
His left hand shot up, several beach ball-sized masses of crackling electrical plasma charging forward to surround her.

She yelled out, cursing at the things and suddenly turned into shadow, swiftly zooming though to avoid them. In this form of hiding and avoiding state, she was charging up her next attack, however it was taking her some time. She solidified, but only went into shadow again when she saw more coming.

Damn it, she couldn't get close.

"Am I interrupting?" A young woman with bright blue eyes and bluish silver hair that fell to her waist stands by the door. She wore a midnight blue gown that hung of her but showed off her shoulders and feminine curves. "Bur?" She pouts slightly trying to look cute as she watches the fight between her husband and her old friend.

Yamiko was taken off guard, stumbling here and there then looked over at Kari with wide eyes. "Kari!"

The Count blinked totally caught off-guard.
"Kari?"
So surprised was he by the sudden appearance of his long-absent wife, that he was left wide open for attack.

"HA!!" She suddenly summoned up her darkness, letting it crawl up her body then reach her arms, the power collecting and growing and in a heartbeat, impaled Burroughs strongly.

Kari blushes looking at the two stunned people. "Do I really look that bad in a dress." She smoothes the wrinkles out of her dress. "Yamiko, NO!"

Kari blushes looking at the two stunned people. "Do I really look that bad in a dress." She smoothes the wrinkles out of her dress. "Yamiko, NO!"

He was about to instinctively tell her how stunning she looked when the barbed spears of darkness shot through his torso, lifting him from the floor.

"Phuschta.." He coughed up a mouthful of blood, and fed his power into the cape, the fabric spreading like ink in water and sweeping toward Yamiko.

Yamiko wanted to say something, opening her mouth but closed, opened it again along with lifting a hand, but closed it and plopped her arm back to her side then leaned against one of the walls. She was at a total blank right now.

Burroughs coughed and stopped the deadly advance of his cloak.
"Call this one a draw?” He offered.

She looked at him the looked down, smirking. "Fine."

He smirked covertly, and misted off of her tendrils, landing a few feet from Kari.
He straightened his slightly bloody clothing.
"To answer your question, you look gorgeous in that dress."

~ Cliffs ~

Yamiko brought herself to the cliffs and she collapsed on the ground, her head throbbing now. Jeez..." she shook her head then sighed, kinda laughing to herself actually.

"Yamiko?" Kaos sits down next to her looking out over the cliffs. "Are you okay?"

Her ears perked and she looked at him, suddenly patting at his chest and shoulders. "I should ask you that! There's no viral infection is there? Nothing dark inside?"

She wouldn't trust Burroughs fully for doing a good deed without adding a little something sinister to it. She sighed, relieved that she sensed nothing.

"I feel normal..." Kaos gave her a confused look before realization dawned on him. "So it was you, why?" He didn't understand. The leopard massaged his temples trying to prevent a headache. "I'm sorry Yamiko. I should have listened to you."

"I have a heart, you know." she said then sighed, patting at his shoulder then looked up at him. "It didn't go well, did it." Yamiko looked down for a moment then smirked. "Well, at least you're alive..." she looked to him. "Right?"

"You could say that." He chuckles slightly "I do have my life, but no purpose." He smiles and shrugs. "Maybe I'll take up Lord Burroughs up on his offer, and take his advice." He grins. "Know any single students?"

"Kaos...!" she growled but then shook her head. She smirked and flicked one of his ears. "Are you sure that you want to take up on his offer?" she asked, rubbing his ears gently as her black tail swayed behind her.

"What!?!" He bats her hand way from his ears as he starts to purr. "I'm just your friend Yamiko nothing more, you said so yourself. And as for the offer what do I have to lose?"

"There are things at stake, sometimes he can be rather.... Well, he'll risk those who are close to you, risk your life, home." she rubbed at his ears again without a care. She smirked.

"Bane called you my lover, actually. Heh, and this is for the time when you pet my own ears, Kaos..." she could be evil herself, and right now this was only the softest thing ever.

"I have no home, I was used once already, my life means nothing for me, and as for people close to me... " He looked straight at her. "It seems they are making their own deals with this devil." He sighs batting away her hand again, but gives up and starts purring softly. "Bane says anything on his mind. He knows the truth though. You are just my friend, and that's all you'll ever by. You have a mate already."

She kissed at his cheek gently, tenderly, then pulled away and rubbed his ears softly. "I hope for the best of you then." she said, giving him a bit of a smirk/smile.

Kaos blushes brightly "Wow I think my heart just skipped a beat." He grins stupidly at her; he was definitely making a fool of himself. His purr grows louder.

She laughed a little by him, her tail swaying about as she continued. "First time that happened?" she asked, laughing a little lightly as she brushed his hair for a moment then went back to his ears.

Kaos whimpered his ears flattening against his skull. "Yes... First time I've ever been kissed okay."

The demon instinct in her sparked up and created a bit of a shine in her eyes. She shook it away however and went to him to groom his ears and hair.

"Actually I consider that a peck. You've yet to know what a kiss is." she said then looked at him, smiling a little. "And you saying that just makes it tempting." She laughed jokingly.

"Okay enough, I don't need to know what a kiss is. I'm not one for forbidden fruit. I'm not a normal demon." Kaos growled slightly not wanting to talk about his love life or the lack of it. He scooted away from Yamiko brushing her hands away.

She only smirked and laid herself down, looking up at him. "Hey I was only teasing, don't worry." she then closed her eyes and frowned to herself.

"Females, I don't understand them" He shook his head rubbing his temples.

She laughed then teased him more, soon doing the leopard imitation of a mating call from a female then she laughed a little more. "I could say the same to you males!"

Kaos' turn from a blue to silver and he snarls. He looks at her, and when he talks his voice is deeper and huskier sounding thing. "Female don't use a mating call unless you mean it." Kaos' demon glared at her. The male leopard was not amused.

Burroughs filtered into existence a short distance away, sitting cross-legged on a small boulder. He looked at the pair for a moment, then looked out toward the darkening horizon.

Yamiko's instinct kicked in and she could only snarl back, the hair on her tail standing on end as her ear folded back. "Perhaps I did." she growled, baring her fangs as she crouched a little, preparing to attack when engaged.

Her ears twitched when she sensed someone familiar then she went away from Kaos. But she then remembered what he was planning to do then stopped herself, obviously calmed down. From her teasing and anger.

The male demon growled smirking. "I see then female do find this male suitable." The leopard was unlike his normal self he was cockier and more straightforward. He got ready to pounce as well circling the female.

Burroughs again turned his yellow gaze on the once-bickering felines.
They were getting a little too close his taste.
And, though he was loath to admit it, he felt a very human pang of jealousy at the attention the leopard was receiving.

Perhaps that was why his talons lengthened and sharpened, his entire hands becoming murderous iron implements.

She growled moving a little then she suddenly tackled him to the ground, biting at his shoulder.

He flipped them over growling in her ear. "Enough female." He ripped his shoulder out of her mouth and the sight of blood surprised the demon giving Kaos time to regain control. "Yamiko?" He looked down at her blushing "Um..."

She was about to bite again with her fangs but only stopped herself and she stared up at him. After some moment, she blushed slightly then looked away from him. “.... Just get off me..."
He nods, leaping off her and staying a few feet away. He touches his wounded shoulder wiping away the blood before sniffing the air. "I smell the devil, Yamiko." He smiles and turns around. "Lord Burroughs, come join your little chat."

Burroughs stepped off his rock.
"I'd wipe that smirk off, were I in your position. You're just getting started in my horde of underlings, and you just might get swallowed up before you make anything of yourself. Be wary."
The fingers that protruded from his coat sleeves were strange, inhuman, like his skeleton had swelled and broken the skin, and the whole thing had been glazed over with iron. He was clearly in the mood to cause immense physical harm.

"Burroughs." she growled, standing in front of Kaos protectively.

Burroughs sneered, his fangs bared.
"How cute. I was under the impression the male leopards did the pack protection bit. Or could it be that he's only a cub to your eyes?"
Burroughs snorted, and turned away, flourishing his cloak as he prepared to take flight.

Kaos step out from behind Yamiko smiling the petty insults doing nothing. "So what did I do to get you a Lord this worked up?"

She shot at his shoulder instantly, glowering at him. "You know, you didn't have to get mad so easily at us, Burroughs. Which brings up the question, why did you get mad at him, huh?" She grinned, however still pissed.

The bullet worked its way out almost instantly, and Burroughs turned around, his eyes burning with a feral gleam. "Don't start what you can't finish, Yamiko. .. or perhaps you'd rather we finish our little spat from yesterday?" His claws clanked together ominously as he stood to his full height.

She placed her gun over her shoulder, smirking. "Yes, let's." she replied.

Burroughs grinned, his fangs glinting. "Excellent. Hope you didn't want to wear white at the ceremony." His cloak snapped open, spreading a set of huge wings behind him. "You might want to step back, boy. You might get hurt."
With that, Burroughs flung his arms forward, and a blinding pulse of light erupted from his body, flinging pulsar level heat and mass amounts of gamma particles toward the pantheress.

Kaos snarled, his eyes flashing silver for a second but he backs away. He knew he had no right to interfere in Yamiko's fight. He didn't care about the Lord, though he had accepted Burroughs offer.

Yamiko brought up her barrier but this time deiced to sprint forward with it still around her. Her shield would spark and crackle by the impact, but she kept going and started to shoot her revolver at Burroughs. The bullets were able to pass.

A sudden thought went through her. "Kaos! Get out of here!"

"Yo, Bur! You fucker, you owe me." Bane had notice Bur's scent in the air. His eyes narrow when he saw Kaos. He would deal with the assassin after he dealt with the asshole that thought he could do whatever he wanted. "You interrupted my fight. You and I both knew that cat was as good as dead"

The cloak swept forward, the thin cloth stopping the bullets as effectively as a bank vault. Burroughs shot forward, as if propelled, The Soul Edge coming from within the swirling folds of his cloak, and impacting the barrier with all of his ungodly strength behind it.

Burroughs snarled as he ground the blade into the barrier.
"Get in line, mutt! I'm a little busy!"

The barrier broke but suddenly formed into huge spikes and impaled at Burroughs the moment she did a last minute block at the Soul Edge, her body bending down by it's strength over her own sword.

"Now is not the fucking time Bane!!" she yelled.

Burroughs snarled, his eyes pulsing with lurid blood-light. The Cursed Blade surged with dark power, a pulse of tainted fire spewing at Yamiko as Burroughs bore down with all his might. He struggled to ignore the blades of darkness boring through his torso.

She yelled out then turned into shadow and went a few ways from him, soon solidifying and was found burnt here and there. Pretty badly. She snarled to him then brought up her darkness, surging it to her palms as the energy grew and suddenly shot forward towards him to be engulfed.

He swept the blade in a broad arc as he flew backwards, shredding the oncoming darkness and landing a safe distance away. The holes in his torso leaked brackish ichor, the tissues rapidly trying to repair themselves as he weighed his options.

She didn't wait for him to think, she was already sprinting with her sword in hand again, dark energy forming into the blade as it sparked red ominously. A hit from this wave directly is fatal. She vanished at the last minute then slashed down from above.

Kaos watched the fight from a safe distance. He didn't like this but he would not let anyone interrupt this fight. He watched Bane go to intercede and snarled, grabbing the mutt by one of his three tails. He used the tail to hold the man long enough, so he could grab his shoulder and fling him into the nearest tree. "Stay you stupid dog. It's their fight." Kaos kneeled down making a six-pointed star in the ground "Protect", and then he sealed the symbol with diamond.

In a split second, the Soul Edge flew forward, a tendril of blood-red mist trailing from the hilt. Almost simultaneously, his hands snapped up, the fingers curled into raptor's talons. Dazzling arcs of indigo light speared through the air, a full-force barrage of Force Lightning.

Her eyes widened and the energy from her word reacted with the Lightening, the force transferring through the metal and into her. She wasn't even able to scream when both energies made a violent reaction and caused an explosion to fling her back.

Burroughs, too, was caught by the blast, the impact that would have shattered his torso dispersed by a sudden transformation. As it was, a flock of bats was spread like buckshot into the tree line, the Soul Edge held in the middle of a larger cluster.

Yamiko was breathing heavily, twitching by the power still going through her body violently, her chest bleeding a little heavily with some burns. She snarled, her aura growing and a tint of gold appeared in her eyes as she shot out more of her darkness at him. The flexible wave tried to catch every bat there was, she wanted to get Burroughs.

The bats swerved and dodged the massive flock of shrieking creatures dispersing over a wide area. Suddenly, each and every bat burst into cursed flames, surging forward as one entity and charging Yamiko, the darkness scattering and tearing under the barrage of flaming demons.

She bared her fangs, suddenly her aura becoming solid into some type of thickly metal wire that went at the flames, swirling around it, wanting to engulf it as she stood herself up with her hand charging up for something.

Some flames hit her, her body burning and her power tried to heal her. Still her hand continued to charge as she glared deathly at her enemy.

The bats surged to the side, melding back into their original whole. Burroughs jetted forward into a flying thrust; Soul Edge trained at Yamiko's chest.
The woman widened her eyes and suddenly slammed her hand into the ground, her red energy transferring quickly. A heartbeat later, the thousands of black hands of the damned appeared, coming from hell itself to ensnare Burroughs and hold onto every inch of his body with immense strength. The black hands even grabbed hold of the Soul Edge to rip it away from the Vampire Lord's grasp.

Yamiko's aura continued to linger, a twisted smile slowly starting to form.

Burroughs' eyes went wide as he was ensnared; his beloved parasitic blade ripped from his grasp as he was bound with impossible strength, overpowered by pure might for the first time in centuries.
He struggled and writhed, his cloak flexing against his bonds.
Strong as the hands were, they couldn’t hold him forever.

The demon noticed this movement, some little laughter being heard as her aura solidified into long, thick strands of barb wire-like things, suddenly shooting forward in heartbeat speed to latch into his body, digging inside but slowly.

Oh so very slowly, every nick ripping at his insides, dragging his muscle.

Burroughs snarled and hissed, the pain obliterating his mannerisms instantly.
He writhed with the agony of the barbed chords tearing and dragging at his tendons and muscles, his regenerative factors just giving them more flesh to rip. His eyes burned red, the blood-light of an agonized rage boiling within him. But pain is a passion, and Passion is the well from which a Sith draws...

"Here's a lullaby to close your eyes. Goodbye..." The woman started to sing ominously, her wrist turning as the wire dug inside more, grabbing around every organ, nerve, and bone in his bone. The next moment, in a slow pace they started to rip through his pale skin.

"It was always you that I despised. I don't feel enough for you to cry... here's a lullaby to close your eyes goodbye.... Goodbye..." The woman smiled, that gold in her red eyes gleaming like a devil, actual evil and psychotic blood lust forming in them. "Goodbye..."

"Goodbye..."

Blood splattered and sprayed everywhere, the wires ripping apart the very pieces they latched themselves on to separate the very body that once was Burroughs. The Devil's Substitute continued to smile, a little innocent laugh heard from her.

In the spray of gore and eviscerated effluence, four remains pulsated with unfathomable dark power.
A fang, torn from the jaw that once held it.
An eyeball, its vacuous yellow gaze no longer seeing anything.
A rib, bloody and gouged.
A heart, black as burnished jet, throbbing even in death.
A ring adorned with a deep black crystal.

These seemingly random scraps of the corpse pulsated, and then..
Like a horrifying, satanic Raggedy Andy, bits of flesh began to aggregate, blood crept across the ground to pool in a massive, churning lake of gore. A skeleton pieced itself together, scraps of flesh oozing and growing as they covered the denuded bone. An eyeball slithered back into its socket, and a cloak draped of part of the slowly- rising monstrosity.
What hellish creature was this?
"Yamiko why?" Kari had stumbled upon the fight and was shocked. She started to shake tears rolling down her face as she watched the scene play out before her.

Kaos grabbed the little sobbing female pulling her into his barrier for protection. "Calm yourself this is not over yet." He pilled her into a hug trying to block her view of the scene; a still knocked out Bane was no help.

Kari growled angrily at this brazen man. She should be out there helping her husband. She turned on the man only to notice that his attention was not on her but on Yamiko. The leopard stared lovingly at the cat. "Let me go" Silence was here answer. Angered by this man, Kari pulls out her dagger and drives it deeply into his chest before twisting.

The leopard stares at the woman in his arms. He was shocked but pain replaced that. He still held the woman tight so she would not interfere "Kari... I can't let you go." He felt the dagger bury itself deeper into his chest. Kaos pants struggling with the female blood trickling down his chin.

Yamiko's eyes narrowed and she started to snarl, suddenly forming more of her hellish wires and she started to go right at the recovering Burroughs. However she smelt another drop of blood. She looked to the side, more of the Devil's power seeping inside her body, black markings crawling at her body.

An arm shot forth from the mound of gore.
But it was not a human arm.
Not even remotely.
A massive, mutated claw; gigantic bone talons attached to several tons of muscle, bristling with groaning, shrieking, roaring demons, and covered in leathery black hide.
It batted the wires aside like candy floss, sending them sprawling and snapping before digging into the ground and anchoring itself. More of Dracula's latest transformation appeared, working its way out of the ruined body that was once Burroughs. Huge leathery wings- easily a sixty-foot wingspan - unfolded, heads out of a H. R. Geiger painting slithered out, snarling and hissing. This was far from over.

Yamiko roared out and she glared at the monster, her power exploding as she started to unleash her own hell that opened behind her. The darkest of flames erupted as a large hand of 70 feet emerged and lunged at the monster to smash it down.

Kari turned away from the wounded demon watching these two creatures. The smell of Burroughs' blood making her hungry and her anger just fueled the thirst. She watches the fight while going back to Kaos. She punches him into the stomach brings him to his knees. Yamiko had destroyed Burroughs body so in return Kari would ruin Kaos. Kari tilted the demon's head to the side licking the blood off his chin before sink her fangs into the young man's neck. She would make him a slave once again. She glared at Yamiko while watching that monstrous transformation out of the corner of her eye. She smiled despite herself. This fool leopard had made sure she was safe from Yamiko's wrath thanks to his seal. "Your move my love. Make her suffer." Kari went back to drinking. She had grown dark and more evil.

Yamiko's eyes shifted again and a sudden waved of monstrous wire attacked the seal Kaos had done, the very pure darkness managing to brake through with it's own wrath and grabbed tightly around Kari's limbs. She pulled her violently away, now wanting to do the same thing she did Bur not too long ago. In this form, there were no such things as friends, family, nor loved ones...
However, somehow a tiny bit of sanity made her not attack Kaos herself.

The Creature emerged at last, 280 feet of towering anthropomorphic demon, its black hide studded with smaller beasts, its head crowned with spiraling horns, three red eyes glaring down at Yamiko. Its face was human, but colder than the moon's corona. Massive wings spread to blot out the full moon, as huge talons opened wide, and released a hellish storm of indigo lightening.

The demon yelled out, being hit however her darkness started to protect her as another wave of black started to attack her enemy. But something happened, her eyes sight was getting blurry and she was starting to become weak.

Kari struggled against her binds screaming not only in pain but also in rage. She fought the darkness growling deeply. The binds loosened for a moment though

Bane now wake immediately went to rescue his sister, using part of Yamiko's curse against her, his tattoos on his arm grow as his own dark aura charges forward to stop her attack on his little sister. Bane however didn't fight long; he grabbed his sister pulling her out of her binds and retreating deep into the forest seeking shelter away from the fight.

The leopard growls gathering the last of his strength. Kari didn't have time to finish what she starts. Kaos gets up slowly making his way toward Yamiko. She wants herself and if she wins this fight he feared she might not return to normal. "Yamiko"

The moment she stumbled, the very instant he saw her falter, the claw came down. With all the crushing, impossible force the massive monster could muster, the claw came down. With a sphere of hellfire the size of a Semi in the palm, The claw slammed right down on Yamiko, a stray mass of serpentine tentacles tangling the monstrous wire and tried swallowing Kari into a safe, if somewhat frightening cavity within the creature.

A high, shrilling and painful scream was heard throughout the area, her body burning her darkness also burning as it tried to fight against Hell's very flames. Every agonizing second, moment, felt like an eternity of immense pain of the burning flesh.

However, when that power and assault faded, she was left bloody skin burned, and her energy low enough that it was near fatal. The woman fell to the ground, all the darkness that was in her suddenly exploding into a black smoke that faded away along with her energy.

Kaos last ounce of control snapped when he heard Yamiko scream. He's eyes changed from a blue to silver then finally to a crimson red. His fangs lengthen as he rushes toward Yamiko. He would be damned if he let her die.

The claw pinned her down, not applying any pressure, but making it clear that her life could come to a sudden and messy end at any moment.
The trio of crimson eyes burned into her, piercing into her very soul.
Burroughs voice blossomed into her mind, though the creature above her didn't seem capable of speech.
"Do you yield? Think of all that you possess in this world. Think of all you have to live for. In the end, is the price really so steep?"

She couched out blood and noticed Kaos coming. She shook her head o him, wanting him to stop then she looked at the monster, glaring deathly at it before she turned her head away. Her body continued to struggle, her breathing weak and desperate as more blood started to fill up her mouth

Kaos stopped in his tracks as he saw Yamiko shake her head at him. He didn't understand. She was dying and yet she pushes away his help. He didn't understand. "No..." He takes a couple more steps forward his eyes losing their redness. Pain shot through Kaos chest and he clutched his heart looking at the creature. It was that thing's fault. Kaos' demon blamed it for this pain, for the pain of losing the only person that they love. Kaos roars at it, wanting to attack. He doesn't however for fear that Yamiko would be hurt even more.

The voice became stern.
"There is no way you will survive your internal injuries. The burns have undoubtedly manifested on your lungs and heart. The damage to your musculature, nervous system and bone density from the Force Lightning will cripple you for life, if by some miracle you survive. So, as I see it, you have three options. You can yield now, and Armand will still have a mother, you'll still be alive, and everyone goes home happy. Or I can crush you now so you don't suffer. OR, you can stall a bit longer, I can kill your would-be rescuer, and you can slip even further into the realm of death. Pick quickly, you're on a tight schedule."

"Fine..." she growled out, choosing the first choice. She started to cough again and her heart was struggling.

"I'm glad I didn't have to watch you die."
With that simple statement, The Creature began to dissolve rapidly, collapsing in on itself until the Claw pinning her down was a pale, if still large hand on her chest, attached to a dashing man in black and red.
"Hold still. I don't practice this form of magic often."
Burroughs closed his eyes; his hand settling over Yamiko's faintly beating heart. A cold sweat broke out on his brow and he grit his fangs.
"Sanctuary!"
The hand on her chest pulsed with brilliant, beautiful prismatic light, the wave of warm, soothing numbness penetrating into every cell, healing gashes and burns at an astounding rate, re-building muscles, nerves and bones. Within moments, Yamiko was healed. While she wouldn't be running any marathons tonight, she was in no danger. Burroughs pulled his hand away, and sagged a little as he sat down. At this range, Yamiko might have caught the cracked, blackened mess before it disappeared into his coat.
"There. I'm not a total bastard."

The demon stared up at the sky above her for a few moments, kind being a bit of a sore loser as her lungs happily breathed in fresh air again while her heart beat strongly against her breast again. The gold in her eyes was gone and they were back to being crimson.
She tried to get herself up but she was still a little unable to walk.

The leopard smiles slightly and turns away clenching his teeth in pain. He was glad she was safe. Kaos whimpers making his way toward the forest and collapse under the nearest tree. The same tree he slammed Bane into. He laughed slightly finally noticing Kari's dagger was still in his chest. He yanks it out letting the blood flow. He had already lost too much due to Kari's thirst and her anger induced hole in his chest.

"Kaos..." she let out a breath then tried to sit herself up and tried to stand to get to him.

Burroughs curled his left arm around her back, and easily lifted her against his chest. "Even though you completely destroyed my anatomy general not five minutes ago, I'll not forget my responsibilities."

Bane growls angrily standing behind Burroughs. "Now you owe me twice." He threw his sleeping little sister down near Bur. One of his hands covers a part of his neck blood leaking through his fingers. "She bite me." For some reason Kari's bite had not healed either. "Watch her Bur. I have no idea what is going on with that girl but she is not my sweet stubborn little sister. That girl is evil"

Burroughs stooped, scooping his sleeping wife up in his other arm.
He smiled, somewhat oddly at her face. "Perhaps I am contagious?"
He chuckled, and turned to walk the long path home, a woman on each arm, and a world-beating grin on his face.

Bane had the urge to stab the bastard through his blackened heart but held back. He looked around the battleground seeing the wounded leopard. "Serves you right, traitor." He could heal himself or die. He no longer cared for the assassin. He looked upon the man, he look so young. Bane glared at the sleeping boy. At least he would die peaceful in his sleep. "More then most deserves." Bane heads back to his home

After all the chaos, after all the bloodshed and gore, there was a sense of some innocence that was wandering about. Armand was in his daily night travel, and his reason from coming here was because he smelled blood and he was afraid if his mother got herself into some trouble again.

But there seemed to be some other blood and he went towards it, only to see a familiar face lying on the ground. “.. Kaos?" the young boy went to him then noticed that he was bleeding so much that there was any left. "Hey, hold on I'll help ya buddy!"

He placed a hand over his chest, closing his eyes to unleash healing red energy into Kaos, reviving the blood loss and rebuilding the muscle and skin into place.

Kaos coughed loudly sitting up quickly. "Am I dead?" He glanced at Armand before grabbing his head. He was dizzy. "Apparently not." He looked at the boy again. "Did you heal me?"

The boy grinned then rubbed at his nose. "Yup! Saved your life, now you owe two cases of colas!" Armand looked at him then he tilted his head. "So... what happened to you, huh?"

Kaos sighs, "Why does it seems I can't escape any debt?" Kaos glanced at the boy before adverting his eyes to the forest retelling the situation with Rezic up to this point make sure to leave out details that might scar the kid or make him overly worried. "So Lord Burroughs has your mother, what she lost when she lost the fight I'm unsure about." Kaos ears flatten out against his skull at the look Burroughs gave Yamiko. It wasn't good, for him or even Armand's father.

Prologue: The Birth of a Mutt

Night settled over Moonstar. Except for the woman of labor, this night was quiet like many others. In a small hut on the outskirts of the village the woman struggles with the birth of two babes. Daine screamed and reached for her friend and mother of sorts, the twins had become impatient and were fighting and hurting their mother in order to be born. Daine watched her Midwife, noticing how her gray hair fell in front of her face as she helped. "You must push again Daine" The mid-wife urged the woman on as her eyes ran to over Daine. This slip of a girl, how could one so weak be a match for their beloved heir, the prince.

Takashi, the prince of Moonstar paced angrily in front of the small hut. He was from a royal bloodline of holy ice angels and silver fox demons. With each one of Daine's screams his hatred deepened for the one who put her in this position, and the more his true power showed. That lowly demon scum that plundered their village while he was away and on top of that rape Daine well she was fetching water. It made him sick to think about what Daine had to suffer through. Now she was gave birth to the creature's offspring. A horrible scream echoed from the hut along with the cry of a pup, her baby.

"So it’s done." Takashi waited for a moment before heading to the entrance to check on his love. He was stopped however by the Midwife. She handed his a bundle not saying much other than to stay. Takashi growled at the woman as she shuffled back to the hut just as Daine pitifully moaned. A small growl muffled by the blankets answered Takashi, his growl and Daine’s moan. "Hmm... It seems you, pup are already willing to fight." He moved the blanket away from the pup so he could see it. It was a boy with no demonic markings. That seemed odd to Takashi as he grabs the pup's hand resting it gently in his. The pup was a fighter, already soft claws tried to bite his palm "Calm yourself, little one" Takashi smirked at the creature, taking in its features. Bright brilliant straight red hair, two twitching black-fuzzy-wolf ears that were buried in the hair, sharp small fangs that poked out from the young one's lips and two ebony eyes that look like the pits of hell. This pup would be interesting as an adult if he lived that long.

The pup wrinkled its nose looking at the creature in front of him. This thing was not his mother. So why was he with it? It growled and he growled back. It grabbed his hand he tried to make it let go, then it spoke. The pup growled in reply. He stared at the large creature, his eyes hinting at confusion and anger as this creature looked over him. This pup though born only minutes earlier was aware that the thing holding him looked hungry or maybe that’s what his instincts told him. This thing thought he was a piece of meat. How rude! The pup snapped at the creature before him. It spoke again this time in a soothing manner. How strange, this creature who was not his mother tried to soothe him. The pup was however drawn in by Takashi’s voice, the pup watched this thing. It was big, tall and muscular, with shoulder length wavy black hair. The creature has shadowed eyes, those of a predator; they hid the creature’s soul well. The colors of the eyes were a deep chocolate, with flecks of a dark forest green. Some say they were beautiful, the pup thought they were unnerving. The creature then lifted the corner of it mouth in a small would be smirk before actually smirking. This creature dare smirk at him! The pup growls at him loudly, he would not stand for this treatment. The pup instantly changed his mood, letting out small cries and whines in want of his mother.

Takashi’s small smirk changed quickly to a smile as the pup growled at him. This thing, though an unwanted child, is adorable. He watches as the pup started to whine and cry loudly. Takashi can tell the boy wanted his mother, the pup was hungry. He settled the pup into the crook of his arm heading for the hut where Daine slept. He slowly pushed the door in peeking around the corner trying to find his soon-to-be wife. "Daine?" A little round old lady quickly bopped Takashi on the head. "Shush my Lord, she is sleeping, giving birth to those creatures nearly killed her." Takashi growled at the woman baring his fangs, "How dare you lay a hand on me woman." He was less then pleased at the moment and was in no mood to deal with fragile old women keeping him away from his love.

The mid-wife backed away from her prince falling to her knees, her gray hair stuck out at odd angles and her face was covered in sweat as she looked up at her angry prince with wide doe eyes. "I'm s...sorry" The woman was truly frightened of Takashi's wrath. The ice prince pushed the bundled up pup into the scared woman's arms. "He's hungry, feed him or have Daine do it." Takashi would not show in front of this woman the true extent of his love for Daine. He turned to leave but a soft moan stopped him. Turning around Takashi stared into Daine's beautiful blue eyes. "Takashi." Her voice cracked slightly and wavered weakly. Takashi was beside her in no time. "You midwife give me the boy." The woman replied handing over the pup that was just shoved into her arms. "Now leave us." That tone from the price left no room for any argument. The old woman scurried quickly out of the hut leaving the couple in peace.

Daine watched as her trusted servant left, she wondered why her silly Taka sent the woman away. "Taka?" Takashi growled lightly, "Why do you insist on calling me that ridiculous name?" Daine smiled removing the pup from Takashi's arms and setting him next to his sister. "Silvanoshei... That will be his name and Raelyn... Raelyn Turmfalke will be her name." Takashi looked at the one named Raelyn; this pup was interesting looking nothing like her brother. The prince removed the pup from the flat Daine lay on. Even though Daine protested the prince ignored it looking over the chubby baby girl. The girl looked back at him with large bright blue doe eyes reminding him much of the scared midwife. The pup giggled and her brother growled in response. Even now Takashi could tell the two were like night and day. What made Takashi curious though was why the girl looked like a human, perfectly normal, or so he thought until he saw her lavender colored hair. An odd color even for a demon human half breed to have. Takashi growled shoving the baby into Daine's arms before escaping the hut in search of calm fresh air. Even after birth the prince was drowned by the scent of human blood. It was simple too much for his demonic senses plus his control on the rage was slipping.

“You God Damn BASTARD!!!!” He loathed the vile demon that had impregnated Daine but this demon was a monster. He had cursed his own blood, his children. Tanhis, the rouge demon his sister died for, had sentenced his clan, his flesh and blood, his heir to death. Tanhis had cursed his pups to a hard life, fighting off their cursed blood, their urge to kill and their lust for power. He had also made one pup two. Silvanoshei and Raelyn were one being once but were spilt to server some purpose. There was also something about that purple haired child. She reeked of something else, more dangerous. Raelyn would be trouble. Takashi paced back and forth as he thought. It was up to the elders to decide the fate of each baby still the prince worried. Would the council see through each child’s appearance and look deeper? Takashi needed to talk to the elders before it was too late.

***
As the demon prince slipped away, back to his village. Two pairs of eyes followed through the darkness. One set, an odd bluish purple, watched the prince’s departure with anticipation. The other set, stared after the being with eternally bored icy blue. A small toothy smile broke out on the dark eyed one. Stepping into the moonlight a man tall and stocky smirked cruel at the hut which held Daine and her offspring. His coppery orange hair fell around him ending at his waist, and his jaw held that grim determination. His tan flesh and well built frame would get any woman’s attention. Fangs glittered against the normal pearly whites of humans; the long sharp jagged teeth add a hint of wild to the already exotic man. How human females would swoon. The purple eyes turned toward the small hut words forming on the man’s lips. “Ero Petrinight” The man’s smile grew even larger though it never reached his eyes. A thick fog rolled over the small village, suffocating people with the density of this darkness. The orange haired demon looked to his company. “Too easy. Boy, take care of that old woman then meet me.” The purple eyes conveyed their meaning, and the blue-eyed being stepped forward nodding in understanding.

A boy no older than eight stepped from the darkness to join the older man. The boy looked up at the man wantonly. “What!?! Rezic do as you are told!” The man yelled at the boy snapping those dangerous fangs. Rezic though young did not flinch, did not move, just gave the man that same bored stare. The boy was not easily scared, something he had inherited it would seem. The man irritated by the boy’s behavior released a low ferocious growl before swinging at the boy with an open palm. Claws drag through the young flesh leaving bloody gouges, the man’s hand leaves an angry bruised and swollen cheek. Rezic still doesn’t move, he hid the emotions that want to be released because of this act. The boy had no time for tears, neither did the man. Rezic merely nodded again before purposely walking toward the village. That old midwife would not see dawn.

The man’s smile faded more and more the closer he got to that hut. Daine would be surprised to see him. She would scream and alert her precious prince. By then however it would be too late. He, Rezic, and the pups would be long gone. The man stretched out a nervous and shaky hand toward the door.

Rezic moved silently through the ground, his feet touch the ground for only a second before he leapt back into air. The old woman was headed for the hut which could mean bad things. Rezic sped after the midwife; the boy was itching to kill. So close, his feet touch solid ground once more about a foot away from the old woman. Rezic had to strike now or lose his advantage. With incredible demonic speed the boy was on the old woman. Before the midwife knew what had happened she lay bleeding on the ground at the boy’s feet. A large gash ran down between her shoulder blades, and out of the gaping hole in her shoulder flowed her life fluid. Rezic turned away, the woman would be dead soon. Blood stained the ground and the sparse grass that grew, that smell of copper thickened the unnatural darkness. “Pathetic” The boy took one step towards the hut, before he was thrown back.
***
Takashi’s muscles tensed, his limbs grew heavy. So tired, the prince knew that this was out of the ordinary. A sheet of dense fog, no not fog, eternal darkness had settled over the village. Moonstar was in danger again, Takashi knew this darkness. It was a hex that any lower beings could cast. Like that band of demons that attacked the village almost a year ago. It was the same spell Takashi was sure. The prince’s eyes darted towards the hut, no lights. Where was the old woman? Who was protecting Daine? A low rumble gathered in the man’s throat.

The smell, the taste. Any demigod would be able to tell that it was blood. Fresh blood, spilled just moments before. Did it mean something happened to Daine? No her blood it was different, it sang with her beauty and youth. This blood spoke of hard and lonesome times. The midwife? Takashi knew every plant, every tree, every rock around the village, so he came upon the old woman’s body quickly. His heightened senses were useless to him. Blood was all he could smell, al he could taste. The spell muffled his hearing and he was almost blind anyways.

Kneeling down Takashi touched the ground. He stared into the darkness for the longest time before two shadowy figures were in front of him. One lay on the ground unmoving, Takashi assumed it was the midwife. The other figure was walking towards him, it was shorter than he expected, usually demons got six, seven, maybe even eight feet tall. This thing was a demon though. Takashi looked once more at the body lying on the ground, she was a fragile human woman and the demigod felt nothing. Takashi, along with his father, was responsible for the village of Moonstar, but demigods do not care for the weaker races. Daine is Takashi’s one exception. Still Daine would be crossed with him if he let the old woman’s murderer get away.

With a sigh Takashi walked towards the boy. Rezic froze as he watched the dark figure approach him. The boy crouched slightly claws and fangs bared waiting for an attack. Takashi smirks slightly at the defensive stance that this person took. He continued to walk towards the creature waiting for an attack. Just maybe the thing wasn’t that stupid. Rezic growled, and leapt, he aimed from Takashi’s head and shoulder. He swept his claws down only to have his wrist caught in a strong hand. Takashi raised an eyebrow at the demon that attacked him, no not quite a demon. He looked his opponent over, just a boy. Takashi shook his head using the momentum from his weight and the boy’s to fling Rezic at a tree. The boy’s small body hit the trunk, splintering the wood, and crushing the tree with the strength of the impact.

Rezic groaned as he slide to the ground, he knew one of his ribs was broken and his arm was pulled from its socket. This was not good. Pushing himself to his feet with his good arm the boy launched another attack at Takashi. Takashi just shook his head sadly, if the boy would not stay down after that he would have to put him down. The man waited as the boy came flying at him claws ready to shred him to pieces. Rezic snarled his left arm hanging uselessly at his side. The boy didn’t have time for that now, he flung himself on to Takashi, his claws embedded in the man’s chest and his fangs sank into Takashi’s shoulder. Takashi huffed at the minor injuries the boy was inflicting. It was rather irritating. Tired of this little game the prince grabbed the hand that was burrowing further into his chest, and ripped it out. His claws cut to the bone and almost removed the boy’s hand. Blood gushed from the wound onto Takashi’s clothes. They were ruined now. The prince needed to end this fight and get to Daine; the boy however still clung to him ripping up his shoulder with sharp fangs. With a jerk, yelp, and splatter of blood Rezic was on the ground.

“You stupid fool, boy or not, I will not let you live.” Takashi was a mess and his anger was slow spreading through him. His hair stuck out at odd angles, his clothes were ripped almost to shreds, and a rivets of blood flowed down his chest and arm. In a better mood Takashi would have left the boy among the living but he was pissed. Mercilessly he kicked the boy in the gut with his boot. Rezic curled in, holding his stomach, he coughed up blood. The 8 year old wasn’t beaten however. He looked up at the prince and spit, his blood and salvia blinding the prince for a moment. Rezic had to make a choice kill the prince of Moonstar and die himself or stay alive and let the prince live. The choice was obvious to the boy; Rezic had already killed the woman so there was nothing to make him stay. Through a mouth filled with blood Rezic choked out the words that would take him back to his companion.

The door to the hut creaked, and growl could be heard. Silvanoshei though just a baby woke from his sleep at that growl and answered it with his own soft yet menacing one. The older twin was already unlike ever other child. Baby demons weren’t known to be so vicious or protective at this old, it would usually take a year or so. Pups at this age usually slept all the time and would only wake up when they were hungry, like Raelyn.

The man chuckled when the small growl reached his ears. He had made a good choice. Taking a step into the hut, the man was overwhelmed by the smell of old blood and after birth. It was sickening. Quickly he made his way into the other room were the odor wasn’t as strong. Purple eyes scanned their surroundings before coming to rest on a beautiful woman with light brown hair; her features were peaceful at that moment as she held one of her children close. The man’s attention shifted to the babes that she held. A growl came from one. “Ah, you must be my son.” Picking up the growling bundle, the man smiled. The man sat down looking at the boy. He had the same flaming hair, same jaw, same nose, the only really difference was the eyes. Silvanoshei growled, what was with these creatures and bugging him. The boy twitched his ears looking at the orange haired man.

Daine felt something on her blanket pinning her down. “Taka you’re trapping my feet.” Slow she opened her eyes excepting to see her love but it was the exact opposite. The woman stared wide eyed at the man who caused her so much anguish. “Tahnis.” Daine hissed his name, for a human she was almost scary. The woman held Raelyn close glaring at Tahnis. That demon had her son. “How dare you. Give him back.” Tahnis raised an eyebrow at Daine, her little outburst was nothing compared to when she was truly mad. Shaking his head, the man looked back at his son. “Bane.” He glanced at Daine out of the corner of his eye trying to judge her reaction. Daine did not react; maybe she didn’t understand his meaning. “His name will be Bane, Blood Bane. It is my right as his father to name him.”

There was the reaction Tahnis wanted. Daine recoiled from his words as if they had burned her. “No. His name is Silvanoshei and he is not your son. Takashi will be his father.” Tahnis growled standing; the demon set his son down and looked at the ignorant woman. “You think Takashi, a demi-god, would accept my offspring.” Tahnis smiled at her cruelly tearing Raelyn out of her grasp. “Do you think he would want you a sniveling little girl who can’t even protect herself against a demon? Do you think he would want a human? Daine you are nothing to him.” Tahnis placed Raelyn down next to her brother before descending once more on Daine. The young woman already tired from giving birth to the twins had little energy to fight off Tanhis. “Daine come with me and will spare your prince and you will have your pups. Come with me Daine.” Daine shuddered and flinched trying to pull away from the demon that held her. His warm breathe on her ear made her think of that night they were together. Daine didn’t mean to betray Takashi. Daine shook her head willing the thoughts away. “No, no, no.” Tahnis growled throwing her aside. “Fine then wench, I will leave you here to suffer.”

Rezic fell on the door, his strength had given out. A thud alerted all in the hut along with the scent of fresh blood that they were no longer alone. One of the pups cried and whimpered at the smell, while the other stayed silent. Tahnis turned on his heel and ran into the other room. He was appalled by the sight of Rezic laying face first on the ground. Approaching Tahnis smelled the blood and saw the injuries. The boy’s left hand had almost completely ripped off. The older demon shook his head picking up his wounded comrade. “What happened?” Stalking into the other room Tahnis steeled himself against Daine’s sadness and wrath. The man needed to grab his son and leave. Glancing at Rezic he decided he needed to leave quickly. Glancing at the stop where he had left his offspring left his angry; Daine was trying to get away with his children.

Daine held a child close to her and she reached for the other hoping Tahnis was still distracted. No such luck, a growl filled the room and Daine withdrew her hand from the bundle containing her other child. The demon was on her in a flash, claws ripped through the flesh on her cheek as Tahnis slapped her. He threatened to do more but a black whirlwind attacked him. Tahnis and the unconscious Rezic were thrown way from Daine, and before her, protecting her stood an angry demi-god. Takashi aura flashed black then white, the tow colors clashed and fought. The demi-god was in pain due to the fighting, Tahnis knew it. He knew about the moonstar clan, the royal line of demi-gods. Tanhis left Rezic where he fell and faced off against Takashi.

“So Taka, are you here to save your little whore or her pups?” Tahnis just loved to taunt the prince. How feral the heir of Moonstar looked, Takashi’s eyes had turned a bright red, his canines had lengthened, and his hair flowed wildly around him. The demi-god’s aura had turned a pure unfaltering black. Tahnis’ eyes narrowed angrily, this prince had a good control over his powers, which meant horrible things for the demon. Growling Tahnis glanced around, there, his salvation. Daine shook; she looked stunned with her hand against her cheek. Tahnis had struck her, he drew blood, Tahnis was a man who had trouble showing his feelings but never had he ever hit her. Her eyes welled up with tears for the demon that had hurt her. She looked at Takashi’s back, why did she deserve this. Her prince protected her against an angry ex-lover. She turned away looking at the bundle she was holding, it was quiet. Daine chewed her lip moving the folds of the blanket. Bane was sound asleep inside.

Tahnis growled and lunged scooping up Raelyn, Daine’s purple haired girl screamed bloody murder at such rough handling but it seemed to snap Daine out of her thoughts. The young woman screamed at Takashi as his claws came down on Tahnis and Raelyn, the prince quickly stopped his attack saving the pup from harm. Tahnis seeing his opening kicked out, landing a strong blow to Takashi’s stomach. The prince grabbed his stomach stumbling back, his red eyes full of hatred for Tahnis; he couldn’t attack the demon without hurting Daine’s child. He couldn’t do that.

With a small smirk Tahnis picked up the unconscious wounded Rezic and held Realyn close. “We’ll meet again prince.” Tahnis used the same spell that brought Rezic to him only his location was deep in the Rakun mountain range. The darkness Tahnis had unleashed earlier gathered around him, the concentration of such power caused Daine to faint and Bane to fall into a deep sleep. Takashi rocked on his heels, even his eyes grew heavy. A solid wall of black hid Tahnis from the demigod’s view. Tahnis himself could not see the prince through the darkness, but the demon did not care. The man, the boy, and the baby slowly melted out of view the darkness going with them.

Takashi roared, the timbers of the hut shaking violently. The demon scum got away again. The demigod was infuriated and he took it out on the small hut that enclosed him. A fist through the wall did not make him feel better but the small breeze that entered through the hole woke Daine. The brown haired girl crawled toward her angry prince whimpering softly. Takashi turned looking at the woman at his feet; so many questions ran through his head. He needed to talk to her but for now they needed to rest. The prince picked up his love holding her as he would on their wedding day. He held her close nuzzling until her hair, nothing could ruin that moment. Suddenly Bane burst into tears, he cried for his mother, Takashi growled and grumbled. He didn’t think that could have been ruined but he was wrong. Holding Daine with one arm he scooped the pup up with the other.

The prince of Moonstar had almost been brought down by a child. He fell to a knee in front of the palace gate. He heard the guards in the distance shouting orders, someone when called for the king. It sounded fuzzy, nothing made that much sense. No no, Takashi grasped at threads, he had to stay conscious. He had to stay alive for Daine. Even with his already strong will reinforced he spilled into darkness. He arms tightening around his soon to be mate and her babe. A veil of black hair block everything from view, the prince’s lush mane protect him and Daine from curious eyes.

***
“My son what happened to you?” An old man wrinkled with stress and age looked over Takashi. His only son and the heir to Moonstar, Takashi had almost been completely lost to darkness. Daine, that woman the prince was so in love with, she caused this mess. The old man’s expression turned grim as he stared at the younger demi-god who had yet to wake up. No longer did Takashi have shiny beautiful black locks, they were now dull, his face did not have the light it once did and the old king had a feeling that if he looked into his son’s eyes he would see the hatred and fury that burned them red.

Takashi was now a fallen demi-god. He had not changed that much but Takashi would wake up to pain, the emotion that were now locked in him, and the absence of his light, his holy powers. The prince had tossed aside the holiness and embraced the dark all to protect Daine and kill that rogue demon. The king shook his gray shaggy hair while he finger combed his mouse-gray curly bread. The old man did not look like a king any longer, his back was hunched and he could longer stand at his full height. No longer was he menacing or a display of strength, now all that really displayed his stature was the gold band that circled his head.

Daine peeked around the doorway into Takashi’s bedroom. Even though she was a mere human with no stature she was allowed to wander King Palathian’s castle. Being Takashi’s beloved she had almost as much power her as Takashi himself. Palathian moved his eyes to the door and the girl that hid in the hall. “A young lady does not snoop, come in Daine. He has yet to awaken from his strange slumber.” Daine blushed, she was caught but she expected that, nervously she walked towards her king. Head down with the proper respect Daine reached Takashi’s father, she curtsied before she glanced at Takashi. A startled noise came from her a she stared at her love. “What happened to him?” The old man just shook his head looking at the human before him, how one so weak could be a match for Takashi. “Child he is wrapped in darkness, he is now more of a demon then a god. No light graces him; he turned his back to it for you and the sake of your pup.”

Daine felt the hot tears but didn’t acknowledge them. The king was known for being brutally honest and at one point in his life he was known for just being plain brutal. So this was her fault, it was her fault Takashi was now nothing more than a demon, it was her fault he lay here with death hovering over him. A small hand took one of the prince’s hands. Daine held his hand close over his chest. She lightly kissed his knuckles and her eyes overflowed. The young girl squeezed her eyes shut willing away the tears, it wouldn’t work. The king shook his head at the pathetic scene. Daine, a human girl, was good for nothing. As if Takashi had heard the old man, the prince awoke and shot his father a death glare. Without realizing what had happened the demi-god sat up and drew Daine into his arms. “Are you okay?” Takashi frowned slightly at his own voice. It was rough, and deeper. Daine looked up at the man she loved seeing not his deep chocolate, but a blood red. With girl couldn’t answer him after that she just shoved her face back into his chest. A muffled ‘I’m so sorry’ could be made out.

***

An odd man snooped around Daine’s room. “So this is the girl’s room, so where is that monster she calls a baby.” His brown hair was matted and greasy and he stank to high heaven but that’s what happens when you were one of the forsaken and not allowed to even be near the village. A smile appeared on the dirty man’s face, his teeth were black and most had fallen out. Who knew that this man was once a noble? The man shrugged, easy come easy go, he just had to get the girl’s kid and go back to the council of elders with it.

Being as sneaky as he could, the man snuck through Daine’s room. His goal was a bundle in the cradle at the end of her room. The men knew he had to hurry, if Takashi caught him he would be dead. The baby cooed small clawed hands appearing out of the bundle, Bane was awake and the young one’s demonic sense had pick up the man’s presence. The fallen noble crossed the room and picked up Bane. The blanket that kept the demon pup warm fell; it revealed other interesting feature of Bane. The man gasped and wanted to kill the baby now, the prophecy was coming true. A demon that bore five tails, born of moonstar would destroy it with the help of the next prince. Most of the details of this were destroyed, but everyone of Moonstar knew.

A roar bellowed through the hall connected to Daine’s room. Takashi was aware that a man in his beloved’s room. The man gulped holding the child close to him; it was probably his only way out of this mess. He sprinted for the door only to have the way blocked by any angry demi-god. Darkness swirled around Takashi, his eyes a glow with his lust to kill. “Resu, you have been banished from the village. How dare you return!” The demonic prince growled clawed hands clenched with rage. “You dare lay a hand on my son.” Another roar echoed through the room deafening anyone close. Resu, the forsaken one, smiled cruelly at the prince, he knew what had happened. “Prince you can not touch me, I’m one of darkness. Your light has been shattered, no longer can you control holy. Be able to purify a demon on a whim. Price Takashi you are weak.”

The noble grinned at leapt out an open window plunging two stories. He hit the ground on his feet, being a part of the royal line kept him from sustaining injury. Resu looked up at his cousin with a ruefully smile. The woman would be distraught and Takashi would have his hands too full with her to chase after him and Bane. He looked upon the child again, for a while now the babe growled and tried to snarl. Its roar was a weak scream. Soon even those sounds faded to soft whines. Resu raised his lip in disgust, he would have to present this child to the council and once they made their decision, he would have to follow it.

***
Loud sobbing and cries could be heard throughout the castle. Daine had screamed for her son as Resu leapt out of the window with him. She hadn’t stopped since. The woman clung to Takashi too weak to even walk due to her lose. Resu was known for his cruelty and his traitorous way. Why steal her baby though? What did he want with her son?

She slide to the floor her hands went to cover her face, fresh tears fell and Takashi knelt next her as if trying to comfort her. The demi-god wanted to protect her from this pain but how could he, things kept going wrong. Takashi growled and swore that he would tear Resu apart.

***
“So this is the child of a demon mutt and a spell caster. The boy with five tails that will destroy our village.” Bane sat in the middle of a large room, a bright light illuminating him to everyone but nobody to him. But the baby could have cared less after much whining he had settled down enough to find amusement in his tails. He currently sat and chewed on one sometimes epping when he bit down to hard.

Around the room 20 or so elders watched, all with stern cold eyes. Male; Female it did not matter they all hated the child. “His father brought destruction and death; he will follow that path as well.” An old man stepped forward facing his fellow council members, his face was shadowed and the only thing seen was a gray curly bread. “Resu you have done well, but now take and kill the child. Once the boy is dead you will have your status back.”

Red eyes glowed in the darkness and Resu answered the command with a small growl. He had no need for nobility or of this place. All he wanted was his woman. He would kill the boy but he would not do it by the council’s. “No, I will sell him to the vampires as a pet. No slave ever escaped a vampire’s den. The child will be no different.” Resu stepped up sharing the light with Bane; he glared murderously at all that banished him. He realized that if the pup lived he would destroy moonstar. With the vampires however he would die. His eyes stopped on the old man. “Uncle you may be family, but I am a forsaken. You are no longer my king.”

Gasps echoed around the room at such a treasonous action. “Resu you dare defy my orders.” The old man’s fingers lit up with a white light like a flame liking at his skin. With a little snap the flame jumped to Resu’s arm burning it. Resu kept silent however holding his ground. The holy energy tore his arm apart yet still he was silent. Palathian realized that he had lost and snapped his fingers once more. The flames’ disappeared and the king bowed his head slightly. “Take the boy to the vampires. And you Resu never return. This is your punishment for not obeying.”

Time passed and young Bane was sold into slavery, Resu died shortly after giving up the boy due to his wounded arm, and Daine even though she still hopes, gave up looking for her son and married Prince Takashi. The demonic prince learned to master the new powers given to him by the demonic energy, and he soon took the throne as king. Palathian died being poisoned by another council member that lusted for power. But what about Bane?

Chapter One: Escaping Hell

Chapter One
Escaping Hell

A snarl, a roar and growls echoed through the mansion. Servants would not look up in curiosity for this was a regular thing. Sercco was torturing his pet once again; it had become an everyday thing since the mistress had her throat torn out by the dog. Most servants looked down on the demon as an ungrateful mutt, but few knew why he was so blood thirsty and wild. What happened to him grown up would be unforgivable if he was more than a slave.

“Cry for me puppy. Cry for me.” Bane clenched his jaws tight a growl growing in his chest. That whip came again this time it ripped the flesh between his shoulders. Blood mingled with more blood, more wounds open. The boy did not whimper or even showed the slightest bit of discomfort to Sercco, that vampire thought to tame him. Sercco sought to do what his mother died doing, trying to tame the blood thirst beast that kills with a slash of his claws. Lucky for the vampire, he had learned from his mother’s mistake and had Bane’s claws removed. He ripped them out himself.

Even though Sercco hated his mother he tortured Bane for killing her. Bane remembered that night vividly, the lashes ceased as a smirk settled on his lips. It was such a sweet victory. He was 16 now but when he first step foot in this place he was 10. His other owners had used him then thrown him away. Lady Aersia Verias was different. At first she was kind and paid a lot of attention to him, he would scratch behind his ears and yell at her son just to entertain him. As he grew however she changed. First it was just small kisses she stole than it grew, she lusted after him. His wildness, his undiscovered power. Bane at 12 killed his first person. A vampire turned by his mistress taunted him, pulled his ears, and the final straw was when the vampire took a sword to his tail. He chopped and his poor aim severed one of Bane’s tails. The vampire cut his tail cleanly in half, and with that wound Bane’s demon was unleashed.

Claws lashed out severely wounding the undead scum. Bane loathed vampires, but what he didn’t realize was his power to bring pain to them. Several days later he watched the same vampire that had been wounded by his claws, carried away, dead. Aersia and Sercco had not been pleased, Sercco pleaded with his mother to kill Bane. Lady Verias sided with her toy; she let Bane keep his claws as long as they were trimmed. Bane obeyed.

However Bane tasted blood again, and it wasn’t long. He attacked Sercco as the vampire boy tried another futile attempt to kill his mother. Bane had crushed the boy’s collar bone with his strong powerful jaws; his trimmed claws also ripped through the boy’s clothes but never did any real damage, however the sheer force used cracked several of the boy’s ribs. It took Lady Verias and three lower vampires had to pry Bane off the Sercco. They succeeded but it only caused Sercco more pain, Bane fangs had dug into the boy’s muscle and when he was ripped away, the demon took a chunk of dripping bloody flesh with him. Bane had dropped the meat and turned on one of the lower vampires, he lunged at the woman’s neck and once his teeth were embedded he bite down. A sickening crunch and the woman’s body went still.

After that Bane had to wear a magic collar the suppressed his demonic energy, he was no better than a human. Sercco while he recovered could often be found tormenting the dog before his mother called, the vampire boy and Bane agreed on one thing Lady Verias was evil. Aersia had changed, once so sweet and tender to her puppy, now she used Bane like his masters before. She would summon him to her bed, and once she was done with him he would be dragged away until she was once again horny. The wolf demon ended up learning about sex before he was even a man. She called him at least once a day but not always for pleasure, no she had started to beat him as well. Not something Bane was too fond of.

That day, it was so wonderful, so nice. He looked out the window and watched as Sercco played. The vampire was never the same after that attack from Bane; his right arm was now useless to him. Bane smirked, he loved that he took away Sercco’s life; the boy would never find a vampire from the royal bloodline to take him now. None of Dracula’s kin, turned or born would want a gimp. The boy would have to settle for a lower class vampire if a vampire at all. The demon smiled he had ruined the boy, though Lady Verias was less then pleased whenever it was brought up.

His room was quiet and shadowed in darkness that even the morning sun could not pierce but even in this dark abyss he found joy. He would stare out his window endlessly or until his mistress came calling. Bane heard the knock and sighed; his eyes were drawn away from the suffering of Sercco to his door. A vampire, just out of reach, called to him. “Lady Verias has summoned you mutt. Why my lady would stoop as low as too take a dog to her bed is beyond me.” Bane waited for the signal that meant his release. The click came and before the vampire had time to even reach for the handle, Bane threw himself against door.

Bane smile grew into a dangerous wicked grin as the vampire screamed bloody murder. He heard as the lowly servant took off down the hall, his screams and yells filled it. The dog just shook his shaggy head and pushed the door open. He could follow the vampire or he could go to Lady Verias. The latter might get him in some trouble, or keep him out of trouble. Bane wasn’t really sure anymore. With another sigh Bane headed toward his mistress’ bedroom. Already the boy was quaking with fear as every step brought him closer to a woman who would use him then throw him back in that dark room. With every step the demon felt his will falter, the hatred that he feed slowly slithered away leaving him an empty hallow shell. Fear then reared its ugly head, it drown Bane with the foreboding images of what the demon’s life would be like.

Bane so consumed by his fear lost sight of what he was doing. A dark oak door, ancient with designs taken from the dark lord’s own coffin rose to stop the demonic mutt. That door, a horrible thing laid behind it. The demon’s ears went back and flattened against his skull, his eyes grew wide with fear. Lady Verias was behind that door waiting for his entrance.

A sudden burst of lights and intense pain brought Bane back to reality. Even though his binds held him secure he swiveled his head enough to see what had cause him such discomfort. There lying at Serrco’s feet was a black fur mass, the hair was drenched in… Blood! His blood, Bane knew it to be true. The demon boy snarled his dark eyes holding a venomous hatred so potent that if it was real Serrco would be dead in a matter of seconds. “You bastard.” Bane struggled against the iron shackles that held him. The cold metal bit into the soft flesh of his wrists, warm blood trickled down his arm cooling feverish skin. The vampire had taken one of Bane’s tails.

A purple haired child sat on a rock craving something into the stone with purple claws. She touched one of her delicate yet deadly claws to the stone, something made a sizzling sound and the smell of sulfur and ash could be smelt. The girl smiled happily at what she had done, a heart was now permanently engraved in the boulder. Raelyn giggled and looked up across the great span of plains that lay before her, all hers. Tahnis had given this land to her but first she would have to rid it of the current inhabitants first. Humans. Such a small task for this young demoness, but her father overly worried had sent her big brother along.

Icy blue eyes watched her, she knew it. Rezic was hiding in his tree, he was always so cold and antisocial but Raelyn knew. Yes she knew the truth about Rezic the blood prince of Moonstar, he was unbearably shy. He did not deal people and if he had to he would glare and look menacing. Rezic would frighten people from him. Raelyn glanced over her shoulder to see if she could find the silver demon. No luck.

“You can’t hide forever Rezic.” With that the young woman jumped from her rock landing gracefully on the soft grass. It tickled her bare feet, she giggled once more. A breeze whipped up, the grass fluttered and the leaves spoke. The wind flowed around the girl, the violet strands of her mane danced with nature. It embraced her. She turned toward the trees a grin on her lips, she resembled Tahnis then. “Race you brother.” With that said Raelyn took off across plains, she ran with the wind.

An intense pain suddenly shot through her, limbs grew heavy and darkness clouded her mind. She didn’t even fell the shock and pain of her impact with the ground. A tall silver haired man stood above her limp body, his cold blue eyes did not even show softness for the one he called sister. With uncaring movements he picked up the unconscious body and put it over his shoulder. Raelyn was small for her age petit. She had yet to become a real woman, she was not yet a temptress and Tahnis that she would become. Rezic knew that Tahnis would be angry with him but this time Rezic was not at fault. The demon looked toward the human village that ruined this land, then to Raelyn. Better not to wait.
***

Two beings stood among the darkness, both entirely different yet still the same. One a young female with a ghostly appearance. Long purple hair fluttering around her, no breeze moving it, blue eyes bright with life and eagerness yet a chill of evil. The other a young man covered in his own blood pale yet heathly and strong. Bright red hair that made blood envious, and dark eyes that reminded all of the pits of hell. So different yet the same.

The girl spoke. “Who are you?” She already became defensive in this odd place her aura showed with blinding brilliance. A soft purple that was Raelyn. The young demoness stared at her twin without comprehension. The male was so odd, she saw the wounds, saw how his muscles rippled and skin grew taunt trying to accommodate it. She licked her lips and fluttered her eyelashes, her aura faded and she dropped her defensive pose. By his appearance this man looked strong she didn’t want to scare him away; he was sort of handsome though those ears and tails degraded his stature in her eyes. A demon that could not even take the full appearance of human, he was still weaker than she was.

Bane felt the hatred, the pain, the longing for blood leave him when he saw that girl with violet hair. Her eyes gave him freedom, the thing he longed for. The boy didn’t even notice the warm blood that still flowed freely from his various wounds as it tickled down his beaten flesh. Pain once again became a mystery to him as he stared at this girl who looked so familiar. Who are you? Her words echoed in him bouncing around in his skull. Without thinking Bane growled… No it was more like a roar. He was a savage beast tamed by music, but the music had stopped. “I am Silvanoshei Blood Bane, a king among demons and devils.” So it wasn’t true she didn’t need to know that.

Raelyn stepped back at the feral display of power. He dared talk to her like she was just some common piece of demonic trash. “Well Bane…” She spat his name as if it were poison on her tongue. It’s ironic that Bane means that which destroys life, especially poison of a deadly quality. “I know the true king among demons and that’s my father, Tahnis the Rogue. You are merely a human compared to his power mutt.” A cruel smile spread across Raelyn’s face.

Bane, the demonic hellion that was a danger not only to vampires but to the world, cringed at the nickname. Mutt… an insult like that usually sent Bane into a swirling abyss of hatred, but this time the boy kept his wits about him.

Fangs were bared and fists clenched, Realyn and Bane glared hatred at each other. One being divided into two fighting amongst themselves without even knowing it. A sudden crack of a whip startled both; the dog fell to his knees a pained expression on his face. Raelyn just watched as everything unfolded, she didn’t understand why this Blood Bane looked so hurt yet anger. Another crack sent Raelyn scurrying back; she saw the blood ooze from newly made wounds. Ones she didn’t inflict, the young demoness was bright however she already understood the situation. Her laughter filled the air, “You aren’t a king among demons, outside of this odd place you are a servant. No more like a slave.”

Bane raged against the pain, he ground his teeth together and refused to give in, even here, to those wretched nine tails. He felt the nine sharp bones rake across his back slashing deeply into the skin. His anger feed him, kept alive; he would have his revenge against this. Another hit nearly brought a scream from Bane but still he kept silent. His head shot up when he heard that female’s insidious laughter egging him on.

‘Slave’

Yes he was one now but soon he would show them. A growl rumbled deep into his blood covered chest, slowly he stood and faced her. ‘Slave’ Again that word flashed in his mind and his anger spiked he lunged unexpectedly at the violet haired girl. He felt his flesh connect against her soft vulnerable flesh. Bane shuddered as his teeth sank slowly into place; blood trickled down his chin and neck from the wound he just created. He felt the beat slowly as more of the life blood poured out on to him and into his mouth. The demon relished this moment, the killing strike. Bane locked his jaw and jerked his head back. The horrible sickening sound of flesh tearing pleased him. He heard something fall from nerveless, lifeless hands. Already the skin grew colder with the sign of death.

Bane dropped the chunk of flesh he had ripped away from the girl and stood proud. Blood covered him like a blanket it even matted down his hair. But the demon command attention and respect even then. “I might be a slave now….”
***

A horrible horrified scream erupted from Raelyn. Her hands went to her throat, no anger demon latched onto her, no blood gushed from horrendous wounds. Her skin was soft and smooth and her heart beat with life. She shuddered and snuggled close to a warm body. The girl surprised looked at the body, Rezic held her close, bridal style. His strong arms held her safe secure but still Raelyn worried. “What happened?” The words fell from terrified lips as her blue eyes stared at Rezic wide and huge.

Rezic looked down at his charge; his silky silvery hair fell to cover one of his eyes. The other ice blue stared at her, that look caused a chill to run through Raelyn. Rezic a being both good and evil was colder than that which he commanded, when his voice contained a cold steely edge to it. “You fainted.” The answer was simple and brought forth more questions Raelyn wanted answered.
