Chapter 5

Axel threw out his hand to me, and his Chakrams launched towards me, a wave of fire blasting along behind it. Thinking on instinct, i ducked down to the ground, and the attack blew over me. I leaped to my feet and threw my hands in front of my face and shut my eyes. A blue, flickering stream of fire flew from my palms and propelled itself at Axel, whom clapped his hands together in front of him and smiled at me, then set his gaze back to the attack. As the stream accelerated towards him, he let it come straight to his hands, and he opened his hands, driving right through it as it passed. I gawked in awe, wondering how he did it. I have to lear how to do that, I thought. That could be really useful sometime.

Then it struck me that i was in the middle of attack. I shook my head quickly and turned to flee to Roxas, who was watching in astonishment.
"Not so fast!"
I glanced over my shoulder as I continued to run away from the scene. Axel suddenly threw himself at me, wrestling me to the ground. He whipped me around onto my back so I looked up at him, my face full of stunned anxiety and sudden fear.
"Bravo. For a girl and a complete rookie, you got some stuff." He looked down at me in amusement, his eyes flickering, scanning everything under his weight. He and I were chest-to-chest, his legs against mine heavily. my breathing came it short, small breaths under his pressure. He seemed to blush a bit, but he continued with a somewhat wavering voice.
I was too chocked up to reply.
He cleared his throat. "Still, you need some work." Then he lightly lifted himself off of me and got to his feet. I pulled my knees up to my chest and pushed myself to my sneakers.
I gained my voice, and asked thickly, "Well what is it to you?"
He looked at the ground, a hand up to his pursed mouth, lost in thought. Roxas walked over and stood to my side, his eyes dark as he looked over at Axel.
"I've got it," He finally said, looking up with a smile that sent shivers up my spine. "I'll train you."
