Hey hey, I'm Kastom.

I don't like talking about myself, so, uh...yeah. lol. I'm a major gamer, I read a lot of books (physics, math, philosophy, fantasy), watch and read some anime, and spend the rest of my time being annoyed at gravity for restricting me to being able to do only one front flip at a time.

I've posted a few of the articles/essays I've written, so if you're ever interested in reading anything that I have thought about or researched, check out my articles world, Kastom's Thoughts.

And the essentials:

Kastom's Bio:

Birth date: September 10, 1989
Sex: Male
Real Name: Tomas (Tom)
Living: Ontario, Canada
Occupation: University of Waterloo Undergraduate Physics Major

And I leave you with a quote from Adam which sums me up well:
"Kastom is very smart and wise, but sometimes he acts like a n00blet..."

Impulsiveness

Hey hey,

So I was walking back to my office building after grabbing some lunch, and right near my building is a Microplay.

I was like, "Hmmm...I haven't been in there for at least a month...should I go in and look around?"

"Nah, not now."

...
...

Ten steps later, I stopped and turned around.

lol.

I should have known that at that point I was going to end up buying a game (I bet I did subconsciously). I ended up getting Oblivion for the 360. It was only $20, so I am very content. It was very impulsive (having never thought of buying the game), but I know it's a great game, and I'll like it massively.

Man, I have SO many games I need to play now (that I OWN, not just all the ones I need to play)...

Okami, Tales of Symphonia 2, MadWorld, Eternal Sonata, now Oblivion...

I think there are more too, I just can't remember right now...lol.

Impulsive as ever,

- Kastom

P.S. I'm looking forward to hear Picard in the game.

Hahahahahaha...

EDIT: Thinking about it, Patrick Stewart is the f-ing man. In all aspects. I'm pretty sure he's one of the manliest men ever.

Now I want to watch some Star Trek: TNG...

Title

Hey hey,

So pretty good weekend. Saturday went buying stuff. Ended up spending a little over $300. But it was all on stuff I've been planning on getting for a while, so I don't feel bad. Main thing was a digital camera. It's freaking sweet.

And I didn't come online at all all weekend, so now I have this massive backlog of everyone's updates.

Agh.

Now should I be lazy? Or should I be dedicated?

lol.

Anyways, worked a bunch on my costume. The cloak is pretty well done, just need a few last things to touch up. I have the pants now, but not the belt(s). I need to find those... The sword I am starting over because my brother thought of a much better way to do it. So this weekend I'll have to finish it off. And that'll be about it. Though I still need hair dye...

Speaking of hair, I got my hair cut. Agh, I feel so naked.

lol.

That was the longest my hair had ever been in my life. Like, it was crazy long. The back was down to my shoulders, the two front pieces were down to my chin or farther, the side pieces were almost down to my shoulders...it was crazy. Now I have it cut slightly like Kamina. I don't overly like his hair, so I'm not doing it exactly (not that I even could if I tried, lol), but it should still look moderately like his when I dye and spike it a bit.

Finally, and most importantly, I'd like to direct everyone's attention to my latest article.

Kastom's Handy Dandy Guide to Video Game Gift Giving

It's completely idiotic, but it was oh so much fun to write. I am actually really quite proud of it. I started off thinking it would be almost slightly serious, then I realized the style in which I was beginning to write it about halfway through, so I began really embellishing on the whole "I'm amazing and you suck" joking style of writing.

I hope no one takes it seriously, lol.

But yeah, I hope everyone has as much fun reading it as I did writing it, 'cause it was really, really amusing to write.

lol.

Anyways, cheers everyone.

Woke up this morning with "Circus" by Britney Spears in his head,

Yep, yep

Hey hey,

Not a whole lot lately. Just the grind with work (not that I don't like it, the work here is totally awesome). Almost done though! Two weeks and I'm done and will be heading back to Uni! Wooooo!

I'm so excited to get back. Ugghhhh...I miss it so much. As good as this work term has been (which it totally unbelievably has), I miss Uni badly.

Been looking at games. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories looks sweet. Totally excited for that. And The Conduit is continuing to look better and better. Ugh, it seems that it IS going to be THE game for the Wii...and not a moment too soon. Finally, a GOOD FPS. So looking forward to it. I think I'm going to have to do another camp out for it like I did for Brawl.

Hahahahaha...

Also read "A Mathematician's Apology". Thanks for the PDF Pleiades. It was really inspiring for me.

Anyways, I suppose I should get back to work.

Still in a weird mood (hard to describe it, it's weird),

- Kastom

P.S. This weekend I'm going to work a bunch on my costume, so I MAY be able to put up pics on Sunday. I need to hurry up, lol. ACen is approaching...

Long Weekend Aren't Long Enough

Hey hey,

So long weekend was pretty good. Watched a movie everyday (Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Back to the Future 1 & 3, and The Bourne Identity), so that was pretty fun. Read a lot o' Physics. Beat a bunch of games (Bioshock, Portal (though I've beaten that over a year ago), Braid, and Castle Crashers. lol. I played a lot of games this weekend. It was so awesome. I haven't done stuff like this in...ugh, SO long.

Basically a really good refresher weekend. You need those things every once in a while, eh?

And, I worked on my Kamina cosplay! Woooo! I worked a bit on the sword, but that still has a long ways to go. BUT, I am almost done the emblem on the back of the cloak!!

Check it:

I'm really happy with how it's turned out. lol, and I'm sure that artists everywhere will shoot me for how I did the emblem: I used a scale. lol.

Although, maybe that's the way a lot of people do it?

Whatever the case, I measured a smaller version of it, and then used a ruler and a tape measurer a lot. And at one point, I definitely used trigonometry. lol. It's just the person I am.

Hahahahahhaa...

Anyways, how do you guys think it's coming? I still have to do a bunch of touch-ups on the painting, like the edges and stuff, and do another coat on the white, but I think it's really going well. Shouldn't be too much work to finish it off.

Oh, and there's all that white on the edges 'cause that's the outline I made with chalk. I'll get rid of that when I'm done.

Then the fire on the bottom, and the rope across the chest, and then the cloak'll be done!

All I'll have left is the sword (which is still quite a bit), and buying the pants and belt. But those last two things I'll probably do this weekend when I go to buy a digital camera. And the sword...well it's coming along.

Anyways, I'll probably hit the bed early tonight.

In an pensive mood,

- Kastom

P.S. lol, thanks for the brick Pleiades! Hahahahhaha...

Epicness Wooo!

Hey hey,

So, first off, two epic things.

One, on Wednesday, I got my ACen badge in the mail. And not only that, check out what they put on the letter it came in!

I guess they must not get many Canadians, eh? Hahahahhaa....when I saw that, I was just like, that is too awesome, lol.

And two, on Thursday, for various reasons, I found myself in an electronics section for several minutes. And I went over to the bargain games, just 'cause, you know, you never know what you might find. Most of it is crap, but every once in a while...

And this was one of the once in a whiles. I found Eternal Sonata...for $10!!!! I couldn't believe it! Everywhere else I've ever seen it it has been like, at LEAST $30-$40!

So I can only assume that someone mislabeled it. Whatever the case, I snatched that shit right up.

Hahahahahhaa...

Haven't played it yet, and I don't plan on for at least a while, since I have SOOOOOO many other games I own that I need to play. Ugh. Soooo many.

Anyways...

So this weekend: long weekend! WOOOOO! I COULD have gone to my cottage with the rest of my family, but I just really feel the need to just fart around my place. I plan on sleeping, playing video games (I think I may finally finish Bioshock this weekend! I bought it in September, lol, and only played it a bit since then), reading (soooo many Physics, Math, and Philosophy books to read), and work on my Kamina cosplay.

It's gonna be sweet. Yesterday was already awesome. I read a bunch of Fabric of the Cosmos by Brian Greene. I got the book for Christmas, so I figure it's about time I get around to reading that bugger. Read some crazy-ass crap on Quantum (isn't it always, lol!). I think I have figured out a way to predict the future to a certain degree (very certain degree take note), using a well-documented Quantum experiment on a thing called a delayed-choice Quantum eraser.

Ugh, I LOVE PHYSICS.

Hahahahaha...

Also watched Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (extended edition of course) yesterday. Been meaning to do that for a while, since I've watched the previous two in the past month or two. Man those movies are damn freaking good. So freaking good...

Anyways, I'm just rambling now, so I'll just sign off, lol.

Off to work on Kamina's cloak, and further contemplate the Universe,

- Kastom
