Hey hey,
I'll make a real post tomorrow. I just wanted to let you guys know that I made an entry for Kat's challenge. And I wanted to do a short explanation of it.
Basically, I realize that this is probably not what Kat was going for, or what others would expect from the challenge. Or maybe it is, and I'm just being arrogant and thinking I'm special. Whatever the case.
This is something that I've thought about quite a bit over the past year or so. The idea of "regret", and what life means. Especially in terms of the idea of "experience" and what it means to experience things in life.
Much of this I would definitely say come from my background as reading a fair amount of Existentialist Philosophy. One of the greatest things I got out of that Philosophy, is the idea of experiencing life. Now, I always try to do new, and different things. Even if I know I won't enjoy it, I try to do anything at least once now. Simply because I believe that that experience is what makes life what it is. I don't believe in "purposes" or "meanings" of life. I believe that the best life is one that experiences, and lives the most (you can blame Camus for this, I'm basically taking some of the things he said directly, lol).
So anyways, it's something that I've thought about a lot over the past years, and Kat's challenge seemed like a very appropriate time for me to get it out, and write it. It felt very rewarding for me to have it written out and organized, so I'm very pleased with the fact that I did it.
And I hope that any of you that read it, gain something, however small, from it.
Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day. :)
Loves life,
- Kastom
