Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.

Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.

Rooftop 31st

Too late for the Writer's Jam, but that's cool, since my brain decided not to coperate with me on not one, but TWO stories. Geez. I wrote this one as a short story for the Halloween writer's club publication, so pretend you're a regular...

The E is more of a grammatical thing

Quick [hopefully] morning post! Fear it!

Yesterday was a field trip for commercial art. We went to a theater and saw artwork made by college students. It was hit-or-miss [moooostly miss], though I did get to eat Burger King at 10am.

Today is a field trip for AP English. We're going to NIU to gather up info for our research paper on Poe's "Masque of the Red Death". I have no idea how this is going to pan out - either a great waste of time or a great use of time.

It's Red Ribbon week, and the theme yesterday was Hawaiian and stuff. SADD was giving out leis and you could run around with them and give them to people. When me and two of my friends from commercial/AP art, Mita and Jacki, were leaving between first and second hour, we encountered Phil on the stairs. Without even thinking, I greeted him with a hug and he said "Wait wait, hang on!" Then he put a lei on me before rolling with the joke being flung around all morning by everyone, "I just lei'd you. ;D"

About halfway down the stairs, I hear Mita and Jacki go "Gingerrrrrrrrrrrr~" before bombarding and teasing me with questions. Aaaand apparently my face was red the whole time. ._.;

After school, Missy and I went to the grocery store and I bought a small pumpkin to carve [which I'll do tonight]. XD Then we randomly stopped at a park to fool around...good times...

We've got a random plan to go out to eat Friday night while in costume [me as Dr. F, her as a hobo]. Trying to see if anybody from tech club wants to come along...trying to hook her up with Ryu...Unfortunately, Phil's busy with something else...at least, I think that was him...

Oh dear, I have to clean my room within the next five minutes. Weh!

Satellite's gone up to the sky

Oh my. A Tuesday night where I'm not out on the football field freezing my ass off. Unheard of!

Today was pretty...you know, normal. Except I do have more updates on the apparently shoujo manga of my life. *watches as people shuffle off grumbling*

Didn't see Phil until fourth hour, band, which was what I figured. He and I kept making faces at one another in the beginning [because this week is Red Ribbon week, and today was "hat day", and he wore...a wig]. Class goes on...Mr. Lobe [student teacher] had his first directing gig...then class was over. After packing up, me, Missy, Shannon, and Phil formed a quad and were talking and then I randomly gave Phil a hug. [The nice thing with band is that we're all so touchy-feely that it's not really out of the ordinary.] Shannon stared at me going "Where's my hug? D: Don't you love meee?", to which I answered "I love Phil more. :D" Then she got all mopey. "I hate you! ...But I don't, because I can't, 'cause your name is Ginger and it's awesome."

Saved by the name...

Missy and I decided to head to her locker before going to tech club. Shannon was with us and was slightly confused about the teasing between the two of us with "Joel" and "Mike" being flung around. It went something like...

Missy: Sexy Mike!
Kat: Gah!
Shannon: 8D?
Kat: It's bad because I take that BOTH ways!
Shannon: Both?
Kat: Yeah, 'cause one of them is actually NAMED Mike, while the other it's just a codename.
Shannon: Codename for who?
Kat: ...............>//>;;;;;;;;;;
Missy: *giggles*
Kat: ..............Phil..........
Shannon: AWWW!

Right before we were ready to leave and go to tech club, Phil wandered over [since his locker was around the corner]. There was a brief exchange before I just completely glomp-hugged him good-bye and he picked me up. Nyaorr...

Tech club...painted the set...my jeans finally got dubbed as my offical "tech club pants" because of the paint that got on them [and was already on them]. At one point, we were looking over the work when Missy and I decided we needed rollers to be more efficient.

Missy: You get them. I have bruises.
Kat: I gave blood.
Missy: I'm younger.
Kat: I'm older!
Missy: I have [something, damn, I forgot what she said]
Kat: I have a life. *mouths* Of love!
Missy: I HATE YOU! *storms off to get rollers*
Kat: Hehehe!
Missy: *backstage* Oh Mike, hold meee!
Kat: He HAS! :D
Missy: ....I HATE YOU FOREVER!

I have forever trumped her in mind games.

You've gotta hoooold on, to what you got

Wooosh!

Today was the bi-annual school blood drive, and of course I gave. Being in NHS, I worked the first hour shift and then donated during third hour, so I missed out on practically half my day. I gave blood in 5 minutes, 32 seconds - new personal record! XD [First time, it took about seven minutes...second time, I dunno, but it was longer 'cause the machine was angry and beeping at me...]

My blood doning was synced just so perfectly that as soon as I was good to go, I just got to zip right off to tech theater, being only a minute or two late. Missy and I were tasked with finding "home decor" stuff for the set...that didn't take long...We hung out with the student teacher, Mr. Lobe [aka, Matt, because he's younger than my own brother Matt] and talked about Halloween. As it turns out...he knows was MST is! We geeked before Struyk told us to go and clean up and stuff.

Shuffle earlier to this morning...

Jazz and I ran around doing pep club stuff [since I am vice-president...]. On our second return trip from the office, Phil spotted me out and we talked about random stuff...DVDs and New Orleans and computers...Then his ex-girlfriend walked up and this air of ABSOLUTE AWKWARDNESS settled over. I latter learned from Missy that this girl is...um...out to make his life as miserable as possible. She apparently enjoys the moments she can be mad and chew him out. Eh...creepy much...?

AP art, it was eventually spilled to Jazz and Ashlyn [the closet sci-fi nerd] who my interest was. [Well, Jazz was the only one who knew who he was, since she's in band as well...Ashlyn sits across from me and just learned.] They thought it was cute and basically made me feel awkward by asking questions. >3<;

ISH IS AWKWARD FOR MEH

Oh right...yesterday was the Sycamore Pumpkin Parade, most dreaded parade of them all...well, we were relatively early on in the parade, so it wasn't that bad. It was really windy, though, so I kept getting knocked around with the bass drum. We didn't stick around to find out how we did, since it was starting to rain and get really crappy. Phil wound his way towards me at the end and was disappointed to see I had my drum on. "I was going to carry that," he said, so I gladly swapped and carried his mellophone. Tried to play it and just concreted the fact that I'm an oboe player. XD

I ended up kinda sleeping on him on the bus ride back home [we were seat buddies]. Missy giggled at me.

...

And I really like it.

Remember, to let her into your own heart...

Senior night was a bust, to say the least. It was raining - okay, no big deal. Oh snap, lightning. Damn. Lightning strikes delayed the game to not start until 8:30. Struyk [director] was like "Um, yeah, field's muddy and will be worse after those ...
