Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.

Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.

I'm not a fan of this idea. I don't like my page being advertised upon by people. It's like an invasion of my privacy, and I really don't appreciate someone having the ability to modify MY World.

I refreshed the page a few times...and...Yeah. I REALLY don't like this.

[/*whine complain bitch*]

(A quick note) On breakfast

I've taken to not eating a lot in the morning, because my stomach simply isn't ready for it. At about 6:30, I return to my room with a cup of coffee and sit back in bed and watch YouTube videos and catch up on various journals. Then at 6:50, I bust out a breakfast bar [Luna, to be precise] and enjoy that with now room-temperature coffee.

Here, have my senior photo [with the proof, sorry]. Oh yeah, and if my friends fall-out on a Halloween costume, I'm so going as Dr. F. I even made a patch [weeeh iron-ons].

Band, art, cell phones, icons

Let's see, let's see...

Last night was the Bring the Noise marching band concert. We've been doing it since sophomore year, and it's always a fun, cracktastic time. At the concert, however, Struykman announced the destination of my last band trip...

New Orleans!

Along with performing [concert band], we'll be doing stuff for Habitats for Humanity, possibly adopting a school and helping build their music programs, and, of course, going to Six Flags. It's a new place for me, and a new experince for all of us.

Art class, art class...Yeah, it's all rolling along. AP's doing good, and commercial is wrapping up the fashion unit. It's been modified a little, so now the dress isn't due until finals, and as such, will be our final project. Get more time to work on it, then. Alright. Sounds good.

Hang on, my brain's a bit wonky...

Some of you may remember that, around this time last year, my cell phone was stolen from my locker [along with my mp3 player]. For the past year, I've been using an extremely ghetto [black and white screen] phone as a replacement until I'd hit the two-year mark on the contract and qualify for a free phone.

It came today~!

The phone I chose is the Motorola Adventure [which, coincidentally, was the most expensive phone I could get for free 8D; However, it fits military specs for shock and dust and stuff...hehe, abuse-taker it is]. It's a snazzy piece I've been playing around with it. Having not had a nice phone for a long time, it's been a blast to toy around with. I even went out and bought a microSD card for it, so a small handful of my pictures and music are on it. I'm still trying to figure out how to get my tunes as ringtones, though...Gotta hack that out...

For some reason, I've decided to name it Alphonse. Seriously, don't ask. Here's a view of the front. It's so awesome, you can have animations as wallpapers. For the front, I felt it oddly appropriate to have it be this.
And of course, view from the inside. I keep switching the wallpaper here. The keys are soft and there's a subtle textured grip on the whole keypad, which is actually nice.

Mmm, new plastic smell...

I haven't done icons in a while [lolwhile]. So uhhhhhhh...

1 - From episode 413 "Manhunt in Space". They're making sarcastic remarks on how to pass off a normal room for a spaceship with cheesy props..then take a look around...
2 - Same as above, from the end of the third host segment.
3 - From episode 810 "The Giant Spider Invasion". Caffeinecrack!Crow is simply amazing.
4 - Again from 810. When I pop a DVD in, I tend to get obsessive with making icons. Mike makes a lot of great *questioning stare* faces this episode.

More restaurant adventures

I got seven days of work this month - bumped up from six, which I discovered last night while looking at the calendar. I finished up my four-block of days, so I've got a nice paycheck coming. Ouran and MST, here I come~

Adventures at work have made it all interesting. For instance, last night started off amazingly dead, so we all became OCD and cleaned things. I got to clear out the large refrigerator in the our room - complete with the food and shelves - and climb inside it to wipe down the walls and clean it. At one point, I kept closing the door and giggling. I was just short enough for it to be fun rather than painful.

[My left middle and ring fingers keep falling asleep...]

Sooo many large parties last night. We usually get 2s and 4s, but last night was overrun by 6s and 7s and a 10. Meant increased wait time for tables, and at one part, a party actually complained despite the fact that they were told an hour wait...Blargle. It did mean goods tips, and since I was out late enough at the restaurant, I got them from two of the three waitresses.

What is kinda amusing about working where I work is that, since it's a local thing, I do see a handful of people I know. Not a lot, but they do show up. Last Friday, my parents came, but the biggest surprise was my first grade teacher showing up - and recognizing me. [Teachers are flippin' amazing.] Then the people who know me, but I so don't know them...yeah.

However, I had a very awkward one this past Friday. While going back to the kitchen, I heard someone say "Hey Ginger!" It was a voice I recongnized, and when I turned to look at them, it was a couple I knew. I stood there and said "I know you, I know you, I know you, I know you..." He smiled and told me. It was Lorenza's parents.

I kept up the pleasantries but shot back to the kitchen, where Blythe was. I proceeded to flip out. "The two at three? Those are Lorenza's parents. Lorenza's parents who kicked her out of their house, the Lorenza who because of that had to live at my house for three months, Lorenza's parents." I avoided contact with them for the rest of the night, but it was so...

How dare you, I thought to myself. How dare you behave as if nothing has happened after what you did to my best friend and your daughter. Oh, I was livid.

The rest of the night was fine. Blythe randomly said something like "oh my lamb, you are the only one to understand me", to which I answered 'maaaaah'. I kept doing sheep noises to her throughout the night. [I also got a chance to sing 'Tibby, Oh Tibby', but replacing the turtle parts with sheep.] Then I discovered that she saw "The Brain That Wouldn't Die" un-MSTified, but that she knew very well what the show was. Good times.

Last night, after I got off, I had ordered some food, so me and the other bus kid Cody were in the back room, munching away at chicken strips and waffle fries [ordered the same thing wooh]. At one point, there was a fly buzzing around that we were both trying to catch. I, however, was in the line of sight of head-chef-man David, who wondered what in the world I was doing. "There's a fly!" I said. "You sure you're not going crazy?" he asked. "No, because Cody sees it too, and unless we're both going crazy, then there's a fly." "Well, if working here hasn't made you crazy, you obviously don't belong..."

Everyone's insane. God, I love it.

Multimedia posting

Some of you may recall a post I made around...um, I dunno. It was right after spring break, and I discovered that school filter "broke" and let me onto theO. Well, the filter has been switched, so I've got an hour of "quota time" to use whenever I need to. theO is indeed blocked 'cause it's entertainment, but I can be on it for an hour at a time when I'm at school. Shwing!

So roughly, every other day, I'll be lurking between the hours of 9:30 to 11 CST. If anybody's on, I'll pop into Chat (like I did on the first day, had a discussion with Sabrina and...oh snap, I forgot who; Weyward, I think) and...yeap.

Ah, the end of the week. Thank God. I wanted it to come faster than it did, though, and it didn't help that my sense of time was thinking that Wednesday was Thursday and yesterday was Friday. Silly brain.

Work tonght, from 5:30 to 8 (salad bar wooh!) Then I'm going over to my buddy Missy's house (which is also Brian's house, ahahahaa) for a sleepover. We're going to watch Ranma 1/2 and MST, then going out to IHOP for breakfast and heading out on a baking adventure. Long story short, we're making a rat-cake, as inspired by reading Dracula in tech theatre. Piers is coming along for the trip, though, so I'll be lurking around on IM stuff. I hope. Cross fingers for wi-fi access working. >_<
