Work tonight. If recent trends continue, I probably won't get off until 10pm-ish. Now that I've said that, that's probably not going to happen. >>;
Shin and timechaser kept me up past 1am as the three of us chatted on Skype. I popped in the MST3K movie as my nightly put-me-to-sleep film, but TC was doing all the lines as I watched, so I finally decided to turn in.
It took me a while, but I was finally able to get to sleep and wake up at 5:30 when my alarm went off. Then I smacked the snooze button a lot.
School was school. Commercial art is getting interesting, and we're finally getting into making our fashion designs. Well, designing them at least. Since I'm a Photoshop whiz, I've been granted permission to do my fashion board on the comp with CG. Yes!
AP art was pretty gnarly, since it was a critique day. Teacher made coffee, so Kat got coffee second hour! Yay! My breadth assignment seemed to go over well with the teacher while my real assignment was enjoyed by the class. I just can't win.
You would think that with eight kids, the critique wouldn't take that long. Um, totally wrong. We took the entire frickin' hour. And I went first. So I doodled.
Animal science was boring and cultish, like usual, and tech theatre was a fun time with my sophomore buddy Missy, who just so happens to be Brian's little sister. She's become, like, my new idkbff, and we plan on getting together some weekend soon and baking a rat-cake [long story] and watching an episode of MST3K [since I've shown her a few clips and she enjoys saying 'agua' to me]. After school was student council, which we left in an odd stupor, singing about "the sophomore and the senior who are filled with sassy sauce!"
Came home and squeaked in delight upon seeing a certain food item in the fridge. Vegged out before getting struck by inspiration and making a crapload of icons from the MST movie. Well, six from the movie. Made another one from an episode and three yesterday...fun times. I'm fueled because I've found this lovely community on LJ, posted up my whole collection, and have been encouraged to make more. So here's some icons:
1 - From episode 621 "The Beast of Yucca Flats". I love whenever Crow's eating a sandwich, because...um...it makes me giggle like an idiot.
2 - From episode 802 "The Leech Woman". Mike and the bots egg Bobo to go the devolution route...
3 - From the movie. Tom's room reminds me a *lot* of my own, except I don't have an underwear collection.
4 - From episode 516 "Alien From L.A.". The best part is how Crow moans out 'teats...teats...teats...'
I went to school despite having a throbbing headache in both my brain and behind my eyes. The fluorescent lights killed me and it hurt to keep my eyes open. Well, needless to say, I didn't last very long, and was sent home before the first bell.
My director's wondering if I have an iron deficiency [not likely] or the beginning of mono [crud] or something. Nurse said the flu is already going around. I haven't been having the best record of health the past month, so I'm thinking of going to the doc-in-a-box places that have become popular around here and figuring out what the hell's wrong with me.
Now Shinmaru has Skype, so we chatted for a bit last night. I mainly complained at how timechaser wouldn't come on and therefore blocked our trio of nerd power from happening. Though I apparently made enough weird noises [my signature sound effects] to prompt Shin to say "If anybody passed by my room, they'd be suspicious". Lulz.
Mom and I went out today in search of a Zune 80 for my dad's birthday. It ended in failiure and a Best Buy employee saying how we won't find one until maybe October or November. Wtf is this crap. It's SEPTEMBER. SEP-TEM-BER. Geh.
With that annoyance, we went home and I got to work. Heh, work. Went down to the basement to be in the cool coolness and brought my giant ass drawing board and AP breadth assignment to work on. Popped in "The Unearthly" and chalked my way to success with Joel and the 'bots keeping me company.
What's been up with the internet recently, eh? Seems so frickin' dead. Anyways, icons.
1 - From episode 804 "The Deadly Mantis". I find sleeping!Crow painfully cute.
2 - From episode 910 "The Final Sacrifice". I know a few people this could be good for.
3 - From episode 1012 "Squirm". I liked the first quip better..."You're really unobservant aren't you?" But I made this one instead. I...dunno why.
4 - From episode 518 "The Atomic Brain". Now I'm certain I'm not the first to use this gag, but...
It's the 31st, which means...last day of August. August is a helluva busy month no matter what, but this time around, it contained so much more. MSTifying, birthday, band camp, sun poisoning, OtakuFic, brand spankin' new band uniforms, DVD spazzouts, senior year kickoff, anxiety attacks, Tiffany Grant-talking, t-shirt publishing, and chin-splitting. Hot damn.
My AP Brit Lit teacher is supposed to have his kid tomorrow [or this weekend], so we've been bothering him about that at school. It doesn't help that he has class when we have lunch, and his room is right in the area where seniors get to eat lunch if they desire to go outside...Anyways, I've got some baby gifts for him and am going to make a card to pass around during English to give to him. The reason it's such a novelty to us is because he's...he's...Well, he's like Crow. And I have the weirdest thought of him turning into a total Maes Hughes on us [since it's going to be a girl]. Hur hur.
Work last night was fairly standard. It was a steady stream of business, which kept me there until 9:45. I really don't mind, because it means a better paycheck [along with tips]. They're also putting a salad bar kid back on for September, which means a lot more workdays. Okay, so six isn't a lot, but I have two Fridays off for football games.
I think...I think...I'm getting into the groove of school. What that really means is that I've figured out how to balance out my homework and art projects. ...Honestly, it isn't the homework. It's the art projects. I found out I'm pretty good with charcoal and chalk [they have to be in that combo, though, heh]. Hang on, let me take a picture...I'm proud of what I can do, yet I still feel like I'm at the lower end of the totem pole of talent in the class. There's only eight of us, and technically, we're the best of the best. Though we're all different - and I trump in markers.
Icon time!
1 - From episode 320 "The Unearthly". Just a random thing I thought of while Joel and the 'bots are talking in Boston accents in homage to the movie's character. And it is a staring contest, despite Tom *technically* not having eyes...
2 - From episode 516 "Alien From L.A.". Also my current icon because I love it for some bizarre reason. Mike's opted for the psycho route. The quote is from Dr. F.
3 - Also from "The Unearthly", however, it's from the DVD alternate takes extra. It's from a moment when they were waiting for the camera to start, and Joel was making some great expressions...which he always does...
4 - From episode 822 "Overdrawn At The Memory Bank". Direct riff-quote, and I can't say how many times I've felt this way...no matter what the medium.
Movie Sign tonight! Take note of the changed time, but just for tonight. If you watch, you get to see where I made the icon from. [Oh, what a reason!]
Huh...Labor Day tomorrow...Anyone wanna hang out? Curse you all for living not near me...
