Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.
Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.
"Some of the great artists of our time started off by doodling in class. ...Maybe. Oh heck I dunno."
- Miss Anonymous
Been chugging away at a self-portrait mini-assignment for AP art. I can have fun with this one...and hopefully not get yelled at by the teacher for using animu...
Need to adjust some features, finish the pencil shading, then put in colored pencil. I'm really liking it so far, which is good.
Today, my mom and I went out for our annual "last meal of summer, hurrah". We went to the Egg Harbor Cafe in Geneva...nice breakfast-lunch place. When we sat down, I started to sing the Waffle Song. Guess what I ordered - three tries, first two don't count. If you said eggs, you're wrong.
I had brought up yesterday that I had two DVD boxsets that I wanted to buy in October. Today, I added the specifics. She seemed rather excited about the MST3K 20th Anniversary boxset, which amused me. "We can get that for your father for his birthday" she says, to which I replied "But...I want it for me!" [And his birthday is September 10th, so it'd be really effing late for a present.] Then I pushed the Zune 80 on her and she seemed excited for that too. Yes!
Anyways, I'm thinking of presenting them with the DVDs I bought [I...don't think they know I've bought them]. Maybe family movie night can happen again. Woaaah. XD
Alright guys. I have a special task for you. I have a nice, blank notebook and it needs to be adorned with something. And, from you folks, I demand...quotes! Make it anything, just not too dirty. High school rated, you know how that goes.
I was up past 4am this morning, hanging around in Chat. It was an amazingly good time...pure crack. Praises to Otaku God and name changes and propaganda for OtakuFic and throwing the word dickweed around. I've inadvertently made it the unofficial insult of choice for the site. And I'm fine with that. I think.
Though to really get it...
Two days of summer left. Ah boy, let's not think of...yeah, we're not going to think. Ahaha.
SomeGuy did a back-and-forth with me while he read through it and edited my dumbass mistakes. Also, I am greatly amused by the idea of shipping characters, even if it seems to creep him out a little. But to answer the question, no, it's not intentional, nor meant to imply anything.
I find it funny how the characters quickly became their own thing. OtakuFic!SomeGuy is different than his basis - apparently he's more badass in story-form. OF!Katana is way more caffeine addicted than I am. OF!Becky took on a mother-hen kind of quality even if she is in real-life, thanks for ruining my bubble SG. In the end, if I ever use/have used you as a character, take it as a good thing and never a bad.
In other news, I deem this as fate:
Seriously, what the crap is this about?! It must be a sign.
And to use the segway, don't forget about Movie Sign tonight!
It was Friday night – or Saturday morning, depending on how you looked at time. The large metropolis was silent in the wee hours, the occasional car driving through and disturbing the hushing blanket. Street lights hummed with their fluorescent ...
So I have four days of summer left. I have, in retrospect, a lot of work to do for AP art. Hahahaha.
Yesterday, my mom dragged me off to the town over yonder, Elburn, for...Elburn Days. It's a small hick town, so there's not much excitement, but they do have a kickass rummage sale at the church. And at said rummage sale, I picked up a scanner for five dollars. Shwing! It's the one thing I missed having with the laptop. No more "scans" with the camera.
Timechaser and I have been Skypeing the past few nights, joking around and watching MST3K. We've been working on "Attack of the Giant Leeches", but I end up getting sleepy and clonking out [my bed's too comfortable]. Last night was particularly amusing, since I drifted off to sleep and didn't even realize it. I dreamed basically the exact same thing, except instead of watching the movie, we were watching random clips. What woke me up was when the laptop in my dream went to the screensaver and I had to hit the touchpad to wake it up. I did that in real-life and woke myself up, slightly confused at what was going on.
Poor TC had sent me a message at around 1:30, going "Are you asleep?" I fired one back going "FDSIPMBQPE", and didn't take note that the timestamp said 2:40. XD; He told me that he heard me breathing but I wasn't responding, so he ended the Skype call.
So, what, is the list of things that help me fall asleep now Joel, Mike, and timechaser? [Or maybe it's just 'male voices that come from the computer'. Huh.]
On that random note, don't forget about Movie Sign! It's shaping up to be a good one, so come on over if you wish.
Icons!
1 - I think this is from episode 410 "Hercules Against the Moon Men". I should really write these things down.
2 - From episode 413 "Manhunt in Space". Tom's colorbind but thinks he's blind-blind. 'You have such a kind face!' he says while squishing Joel's face.
3 - From episode 702 "The Brute Man". Comes from the chicken of the future short. Crow likes his chicken raw.
4 - From episode 406 "Attack of the Giant Leeches". Self-explanatory.
Snap, I have to work tonight. Wait. Good thing. Money.
